Hey guys,
I deleted my system\app\visualvoicemail.apk (not exactly sure of file name now), right after I got the nitro. Now, I've found that google voice doesn't appear to work since I've upgraded.
Anyway, Could someone help this poor moron out by providing a link to the original visualvoicemail.apk.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think this is the visual voicemail program (ripped straight from my system/app folder) though I'm not 110% sure... Of all the apps in there, this was by far the most likely.

Hello all,
Wanted to share that I was able to install the cab file taken from the palm messing that was found in the MDA section of xda-developers.com forum, can't find the thread now sorry!!!!!! But I was able to install and get the program to send text messages out, but it will not thread because in the registry couldn't I couldn't change the sms key to sms.old
In the Dash registry it was a lil different than the MDA, if anyone could help would be greatly appreciated. I know it's simple just not sure, still neebe but willing to learn and try!!!!!!!!
Yes..someone please get this to work. As i'm sure we are all coming from MDA or similar devices. I was one of the lucky ones to get the threaded sms app from Palm working on my device. It's definitely nice. Don't get me wrong the 2 sms threader apps that are available now: sms threader & TXTMAN are nice..but they have some big tradeoffs that didn't occur on the Palm version.
umm..wow..it really does work. I did the normal instructions from the "How-To"... no notification sounds for it though. Im sure a little registry hacking could fix that. Everything threads hmm..testing mms..well i actually i cannot test..just realized I can't even navigate anymore lol. Pressing the back key closes the program. ARGHH! you can get around the smiley's and Mytext just buy bringing up the option but other than that it looks like a dead end. Any suggestions?

I plan on playing around some more in the registry to see what i can get to work!!!!!!! I post more after some other tweaks.
I have 1.5 for smartphone but cant get it to work either, crashes upon running, I bound bengalboys site but cant find the install guidelines, anyone have the link?

I was using the cab file for the ppc and I haven't been able to get it work like it was working on the MDA. Tried all kinds things in the registry, but nothing seemed to work.
Then I finally got the thread to work but all together lost MMS, As for your situation did you make the registry tweaks to sms and mms1 and change them to .old? Not to familiar with 1.5 and assuming it may have to have the same setup. If I find anything I will let you know.
For now I have taken it off and it required for me to reset the phone and start all over. So once again I will be working on the aforementioned issues.
I didnt do the registry entries, I wasnt able to find them on BB's site.
The version I have is branded as "SmartPhone" vs the PPC version which I also have.
I think it is for the older processor type maybe?

ok, found the info on BB's site and made the registry changes as well as the app unlock.
VC still refuses to run on my Dash, all I get is "VoiceCommand has encountered a problem, restart voice command"
Noticed that voice comand also completely breaks the built in voice dialing

Hi, if you want a gushy intro you can pretend I made one but I'll get straight to the question (YES I USED SEARCH!) after this aside: I've hooked up my Dash thanks to this site and appreciate all you lovely developer people there @ the big coding room in the sky.
I'm on WM6 and all that good stuff thanks to you guys and it's pretty amazing. My question concerns the SMS restore/backup etc system. Now I backed up a few old texts for personal reasons as the conversation was gettin a bit large.
Is there any program I can use either for the computer or the phone itself to read these backed up messages without restoring? I'd like to sorta archive them for later use in an email account but been having a hard time.

Absolutely no idea what I've done but my HTC "pictures" program isn't showing either in the app drawer or as a widget so I'm currently using the "gallery 3d apk to look at my media. Any idea How I may have deleted the apk (if that's what I've done) & what do i need to do get it back. Is there an apk to download anywhere? stock sense 2.2. Cheers

just download a rom with the htcalbum.apk that you want to use, and push it to /system/app using adb

I am to software what Boy George is to cage fighting I'm afraid & am also a Liverpool supporter so you can see how "lucky" I am too. without root you have no write access to /system/ so you couldnt of deleted it you also cant push a simlar .apk back, are you sure there isnt an app called "gallery" in your app draw? the best i could suggest is to do a hard reset, your phone should be like it was when you bought it

Is there a way anyone can provide the stock quickoffice app that came with the phone when we first got it? I know its not going to come with alot of the roms that are offered now and would love to get it back because it was actually a good word document app. I'd be really grateful if someone could rip it and post it.

I had purchased Documents-To-Go so I deleted it off mine. I'm sure someone here has / can get it.
If I knew how to do it, I would.
Its kool, I found how to get the orginal g2 quickoffice, i took it from the dump file thats in the dev section. Really quick and easy and now I have the great app that originally came with our phones. ^^

Alright! Cool! Wish I could have helped though.
As I'm a bit old fashioned guy I'd prefer more lines of contacts per screen instead of useless contact pictures I've modified contacts.apk a bit. As you can see from the screenshots we've now more lines per page and only small frame for pictures (for those who can't live without).
The mod works on stock LPQ, de-odexed not necessary.

Without picture should be possible, though haven't tried yet. But I wonder whether swiping left and right (for calling and SMS) will still work w/o picture.
For the sources: It's all done within dimens.xml and styles.xml. Or are you asking to upload them, wouldn't be a problem either?

ive been working on the exact same thing on my Galaxy S3 international with JB.. then ive got stuck on how to remove the thumbnails at the favorites list view, and started searching and found your thread here...
sooo, did you ever manage to find where the favorites list is generated? i would really like to know

yeah ok. thanks for answering though.. well, i dont use favorites either, but hate to do things half..
ive been thinking it might be coded in the smali files, which i dont have a clue on what to change, and/or where..
but if i find a solution ill let you know, though i currently doubt i will find it.....

I am trying to put that favorites tab on hell and put the phonebook on replace.
If someone would like to help, lets go:
First i decompressed my actual contacts.apk to edit.
Then i decompressed the contacts.apk of an other rom that have already the contacts on the favorites place just like we want.
So i will upload the decompressed Contacts.apk so u can help me analize the file and find out where in the code is that, so we can change the tabs.
Resume: The file attached is an Contacts.apk that already have the contacts list instead of favorites.
edit: Forget to tell i did already try to just put the contacts.apk of other rom on my actual rom, but the phone icon just gone, the i had to put the original contacts.apk from the rom i'm using to work. But i guess you all already know that we cant just put the apk inside our rom.
