32GB Micro SDHC Class 10 Samsung vs Lexar - General Accessories

Hi guys I've found many benchmarks for the Lexar card, but nothing for Samsung
Can anyone comment?
I've already placed an order on the Samsung, but I didn't see the Lexar on the website till just now.
Update: I just cancelled the order as it's awaiting stock, placed an order for the Lexar for now.
The only difference between the 2 products bundled items is that Samsung give an SD card adapter, and Lexar give a micro sdhc usb reader. And Samsung boast sea water/shock proof.
I'll be using it in my 32gb asus transformer prime
Here's the 2 links:

Thanks in advance (remove the space after ww w.)

I own that Samsung Micro SDHC 32GB Class 10.
I already made two post about in in another thread Post 1 / Post 2
One the left side my own benchmark, on the right benchmark from someone else.
As you can see, the Lexar is rubbish compaired to the Samsung.

The Samsung card seems to be running a different test...could it be re-run with the same settings as the other two?

Bought this today in Shanghai. Chose it over the sandisk ultra (with your thread/posts in the back of my mind)
Good speed, benchmarked similarly.
Thanks.

Strange..my microsd samsung card 16 gb class 6 is faster than verbatim class 10..why?

I didn't see this post
so i already bought sandisk class6 32g

Good read/write on Samgung .

there are no reviews for this card, other than the announcement on engadget.com about 5 months ago.
A lot of places online have it for about $50...
just bought it at frys.com for $50 shipped!
so far every card at price below $60, are FAKE Cards at around Class 2. You should look for a serial number or something familiar. This you can find what and where it is made from.

I'm using Samsung's 32Gb Class 10 SD card and I'm getting pretty good performance with it.
I paid around 30€ for it, thats around £25 or $40. I think it was a really good deal for 21MB/s read | 10MB/s write and 32Gb of space...

Got a Lexar one for 25 in the Amazon Black Friday deals last week
got samsung 32gb class 10. seems to be very fast. test with an sd adapter write speed 125M/s read 235m/s
---------- Post added at 03:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:56 PM ----------
sorry
12.5 mb/s write
23.5mb/s read
I have one and i am very happy with it...seems to be just as fast as a sandisk...although havent done a full test with it. But i am happy!!
I got one a few weeks ago, 32gb class 10 as while recording at 1080p, my previous class 6 sandisk was causing slow frame rates.

I should check at Amazon... Play hasn't got them in stock. Still waiting
Does higher the class mean better performance? speed, mtbf etc
Just asking as I've experienced problems (file name changes) when I place my sgs2 internal memory & ext-sd to my laptop HHD. It only does this sporadically on video & music files, so in some cases I have to confirm/play files, for accuracy.
Or is this my crappy old laptop playing up...

Recomend me an SD Card

I'm looking to buy an SD card (in the UK) but having never bought one i dont know which to get since there's about 50,000 choices. I dont really want to spend much more than £15 and im sure 16gb will be enough.
If anyone can offer any suggestions i'd really appreciate it.
buy a cheap one and watch it break... get a decent branded one - i have samsung class 10
I bought one samsung class 10 16gb, 32$ on ebay.
like bigmrb says, get a decent branded one and forget about it
Is this the kind of thing i should go for?
It seems very cheap, am i missing something?

Depends on the manufacturer, i also have a Sandisk 8GB class 4 and it is quite fast but if your really concerned about speed then get a class 10, only reason i got a class 10 is that it was on sale but i just wanted a 32GB card regardless if it was class 4 or 10
This is the best. Period.

Very true !
I got the Silicon Power 32GB Class 4 microSD. Haven't had a problem with it, was cheap (AUD $44) but is quite slow (about 2-3MB/s) which is expected from a Class 4 card.
Btw class 10 won't make huge difference in ur phone compared to class 4 but when copying to pc its a massive difference
How about this one? 16gb Samsung class 10 for £13?

another method u can check and find out if the card is real or fake is if u download sd card tester from goople play and that will also tell u wether its a real card or a fake 1 by validating the write and reading speeds.

The G3 is compatible with UHS-I (it works), but we don't know if it uses the full UHS-I speed
I'm using a Samsung Plus mSDHC UHS-I 32GB without problems. Its fast but not that I measured anything.

Tab S 8.4 Max Memory Card Size

Well when it first came out (the tab s 8.4) only 128gb micro SD cards were the largest available.
So my question, can we assume that any micro SD XC 1 card will work fine in this tablet?
I ask because I stumbled upon this 200GB card now available.
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro..._UL160_SR160,160_&refRID=00EQDPJ5PMBTHB0A266Q
Or is this tabs card slot locked some how to only except up to 128GB max?
If the Tabs S works with XC 1 cards have an 128gb one and it works fine, I suppose an 200gb that is XC 1 should work as well as an guess.

I'm using Sandisk 32 GB and the transfer speed sucks... avg around 10mb/s when transfering files from my tablet to PC via USB cable.

Get the biggest card you can afford, a 64gb or 128gb, I only ever buy Samsung flash cards for years for my camera`s phones and tablets, I all do a exhaustive error test when i get them and i have never found an error or had one fail, So i don't have any experience of other brands but Sandisk is a good brand.
I just bought an Samsung 128GB Evo+ the other day for £36 and i am just about finishing the error testing, It is showing a write speed of 20.46mb/s and a read speed of 63.56mb/s these are just basic number using an USB 3.0 card reader on my notebook, I have an crystal disk mark test results if you want to see them.
My T800 10.5" has formated my Samsung 128GB EVO+ as ExFat file system, benchmarks should really be run with the card in your Tab S for real world results.
John.
Thanks! Time to test out Samsung sd cards then.
Highly recommended Samsung evo cards. Its all I use now. Good value for money.
A few speed test reviews on Amazon say the Samsung 128GB EVO+ is not very good as the 4K file write speed is very low, But i dont write anything that small, even ebook files or mp3 files are hundreds of mb/s
Below are benchmark run on my Notebook using an USB 3.0 card reader.

I personally never had any issues with Sandisk. I have really old Sandisk cards laying around (64mb) and they still work fine.
I'm actually scared to try a different brand with the good luck I have had with Sandisk.

I am in the US but this is what I am using now. The 32gig one. Go with the biggest you can afford to be honest. Make sure its class 10. Always buy from an official Sandisk seller on Amazon to avoid fakes.
