Calendar and Note apps that sync? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey, does anyone know of a good calendar app and note app that would sync between two devices? I.e. Kindle Fire and SGS2?

Calendar: The built-in calendar (Google's) is overall best and easiest. That's going to sync automatically when u log in since they are both Android...
Notes: Gtasks or Gnote (Newer more robust version i believe) *Both are free in the market. Both sync to your Google account so each time u login all your notes and things shoot back down from the cloud...i love it.

I'm using EverNote currently it has a good number of features - uploading notes to online account, taking pictures, recording audio.
I just use colornotes. I needed password protection. However I wish Andriod had better looking notes app with better UI like the stock iphone one.
I primarily use Evernote, because I can sync it across all my devices, Macbook, PC, iPod, Phones.
How ever I recently started testing out springpad, I like the layout of it, but there is no apps for laptops of any kind just the website.
I use and love AK Notepad

I use Evernote as I want my notes to be synchronized with my PC. It also has a practical widget.
I have also tried BI Notes. I may switch to that application when the synchonization feature is released (they have planned to implement it).
GDocs Notepad
I use GDocs Notepad because it syncs with Google Documents. That way I can see my notes on my phone and on my PC (or any PC for that matter).
Papyrus Ex. I make its notes folder sync with Dropbox.
Since the notes are stored as plain text I can open them on any device, even if they don't have my notes app installed (except for my encrypted notes).
I use evermore because I can easilly sync my notes to my computer.

I use aNotepad for quick notes like Notepad on the computer. I have some Microsoft Office stuff, too.

I've used AK Notepad for the longest time because its quick, simple and has great online backup. My personal fav is XM Notes (miui notes app) but it doesn't seem to work on CM7
If you want a notes app that looks as nice as the iphone one try Classic Notes Lite. I also use NotesWidget for a widget similar in function to the htc notes one.
I use Epistle. It has a UI very similar to Evernote but it's much more lightweight, and I have it sync to my dropbox.

I can't speak from personal experience but ive read and heard great things about Evernote.

Best Office Suite [Poll]

Hi Everyone,
I'm interested in all your opinions in a poll for the best Office Suite app (paid or free) to run on the Nexus 7.
My only real personal requirements are:
Google Drive integration
Full (as much as possible) editing of documents
Integrated fonts
Autosave
It's interesting to see that last month Google acquired Quick Office too!
Your thoughts...and more importantly reasons for your choice!
OP: good question. I was frankly quite disappointed that the new, improved Google Drive only allowed offline editing, but not offline document creation.
Galaxy Nexus / TMobile / Oakland
Thanks for the reply malcontent510, I had noticed that feature was lacking too and to me with the acquisition it is quite plain that eventually Quick Office + Drive will merge and it will be a force to be reckoned with. Until then one of the £5-10 ($7-15) range of apps will do the job I think, what was your personal pick?
on the phone I have experience with quick office, documents to go and preferred quick office.
On the tablet(nexus 7), I tried quick office pro hd and really like it so far.
I'm still learning how to use it but it is visually appealing to me & I love that I can sync my dropbox, box, drive accounts with it.
Vote= quick office pro hd

Thanks ateebtk, so can you open/save to/from Drive offline and then sync your saves when you're back online?
Are there several fonts included?

Alright..there are 19 fonts included.
Won't let you save file on drive without Wi-Fi.
You are forced to save on local storage without Wi-Fi.once you get Wi-Fi, you can easily drag files from local storage to the Google drive account very easily using the file explorer built in the app.

Thanks!
Does it Autosave in the background?
I like king soft office

Quite a few votes for Google Drive/Docs, I do like the app, but you can't work offline unlike the others...
phantasybm does KingSoft have Drive integration?
Bump
OnLive Desktop looks pretty good, only downside is the need for a decent internet connection.
Hey ben, that's a very interesting app! Very cloud based but if you were at home/in an office with Wi-Fi then it could be worthwhile.
I just came across this app in the store that you might want to check out as well...

How did you install Quick Office Pro HD on the tablet? The app page on Google Play says it's not compatible with the Nexus 7.

A full featured, MS office compatible office package would be the "unreleased" SoftMaker Office Mobile for Android.
They have a free release candidate version you can download from their website and try.
This is the only one I've ever found that's 100% compatible with Office 2007 and 2010 without any formatting changes, etc.
It's really a heavy package tho. it includes "word", "excel" and "powerpoint".
Interesting find compusmurf! Have you tested it?

Officesuite HD. Works really well and works with a number of cloud services.

I use OfficeSuite Pro- It was Amazon's free app of the day a few months ago and I have no real complaints with it. Nothing particularly spectacular about it either.
Does anyone know if the Google Drive app allows you to save directly to .docx/.xlsx?

What book app do you use?

Hello everyone. I've been thinking about reading some ebooks on my commute to school and was wondering what some of the apps you use. I would really like to be able to import books in and have the page turning animation that Play Books has. Any app suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

FBReader. Customized it to look like my old Nook and has offline dictionary add-on
Moon+ Reader Pro on my devices, with Calibre on desktop

or free https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyersoft.moonreader

+1 Aldiko
I primarily use the Kindle app since I own a Kindle and like the sync feature. Before I got a Kindle I was a fan of FBreader. Aldikio has a better interface, but FBreader does a better job with displaying the text properly (I ran into a number of issues with Aldikio when there were multiple font sizes within a section) and allows you to customize it to a greater degree.

Dev is very active with feature requests and updates

Forgot to mention: I use MoonReader pro with Calibre on my desktop... Calibre let's you crest an online catalog through a built in server... Moon can be set up to access this, works well once its all configured.
I have a collection of university publications and textbooks that is 400+ in addition to a slew of novels. Started as a way to get my grandfather to use the tab I got for him more often. He loves it now and I've been building his library steadily, he calls me very excited when I add the ebooks to his computer remotely and Calibre scans the folder and notifies him of the new additions. He's even learned on his own how to share his library with his friends and colleagues so if my gramps can do it it should be a descent option for the average user:thumbup:

Facebook on nexus 7

As today Facebook app got a new update but I still feel that it's not quite good enough because of very slow speed, old UX& ... (as the app always was)
I'd like to know which app you use for Facebook recently.
I've tried Scope beta for few weeks, love the idea but still buggy and slow.
Thanks for sharing guys!

Same.. I haven't had an issue with it for ages.. It does what it's supposed to do.
I just go to facebook.com, looks just like PC version that way.
Facebook app is fine its smooth and fast no lag for me whatsoever
It takes 10-20 seconds of a black screen before it loads, but after that it works fine.
The problem i have is with its widget, i sometimes get a blank widget or it doesnt update.
Anyone with those issues??
I use flipboard for facebook, I really like the magazine format.
What's up with the Facebook website and Android? The input fields don't allow your dictionary to work and gets all screwy trying to type and backspace. It does this on any browser I've tried.
I just use Android Pro Widgets to use the Facebook and Twitter widgets for feeds, and click through to Facebook occasionally for notifications and IMs. I don't need instant notification about anything related to Facebook.

No issues here with the Facebook app. Loads in less than 2 seconds. Now on my phones it is a different story. They haven't ran it right in a year or so.
No problems here, more speed is needed with all apps to support Nexus 7 Quadcore CPU

There is a reason Facebook is working on a native app for Android and already did for iOS. Our current app is an HTML5 based slow piece of trash..,

I deleted facebook app ,using default cm10 browser is much faster..on a 20mbt internet i wait for 4-5 seconds and more for a 50kb picture to show, that app after 1000 updates is still bad joke.I left app only on my phone because of push notificafions but i dont use it.

Friend caster is pretty nice. Dual panel layout and everything. One problem with the official Facebook app is that it took so long for it to start up like 20 seconds for a black screen then another ten on the splash screen. Completely ridiculous. I heard they forced their employees to use android phones instead of I phones just to make them feel the crap they made for android.

What's the best way to sync LectureNotes across multiple Samsung Note devices?

For example, sync automatically between Note tablet and phone.

" Drop sync" from the play store works well. Whether or not it's the best way is up for debate but it's been very reliable for me.
