[REVIEW][PICS]Qubits TPU Case - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

This case is pretty nice, I have the Diztronics Matte Case and this far superior.
EDIT: It appears I messed up with adding images, so I provided direct links to a Picasa album under the corresponding text.
First off, I'd like to point out its design.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694664838498885570
This case uses a combination of three forms of TPU.
The back uses two, and the side has the third. From the photo, the majority of the back is matte with a gloss design on the side of the back.
Now for the TPU on the actual sides on the phone:
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694666212754847586
It's a nice textured form of TPU that provides a great amount of grip without making the phone impossible to slide in and out of a pocket or gather dust like silicon. It may just be that I'm fourteen, but I always found the Galaxy Nexus a bit slippery, or maybe it's because of this the darn phone gets, which looks great but isn't entirely practical.
The case itself doesn't add much to the size of the phone, but it provides decent, and very eye catching protection.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694664844600398466
The back of the case is also raised near the camera to prevent scratches that phones like the EVO were plagued with.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694666188166111906
The volume buttons get a dedicated cover, as expected, but makes them feel mushy, but they're really small to begin with.
The cutouts on the phone are pretty big and shouldn't have any issues, and there is also a double-holed thing at the bottom for lanyards.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694666177130719426
This is overall a great case, for its price its pretty hard to beat as well. You can find it here on Amazon.

Its on the last line, but here ya go! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0062V037Q/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details

That looks like the cover I had on my Incredible. I liked it, especially when I cut it to fit my extended battery... hehe! Though I dont know if the material is the same.

I've had this since launch, it costed me ~£4 from ebay which I was really pleased with.
So far it has treated me well, feels good, looks pretty good and protects my phone.
I should receive the Diztronic Matte Case sometime next week, I was hoping for that to be an improvement on this! (OP doesn't think so! )

I like that. I am using the stock one from Verizon. I am still waiting for a good case, but this one is pretty nice. I want a clip too I think. However, I break clips by bumping into things

The button protectors were too stiff for my liking. It is very grippy though.

2 dollars from Ebay.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418449

This is the only Galaxy nexus case I currently have, and boy does it get the job done for $2 from Amazon.
Almost got the cruzerlite but the price was right on Qubits.
Anyone know if I were to purchase an extended battery if it would fit with this case? Any extended batteries you'd recommend (for GSM) that won't break the bank (or my phone)

I ordered a clear one from amazon for $1.75. My old smoke TPU case was turning a bit yellow so I ordered this to replace it for a while. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing that thanks

I just got my S-line case (black) from eBay and I love it. It adds very little bulk, seems like it will do a good job protecting my phone, and looks very nice.
Definitely worth the $5!

I have one as well. Love it. Too bad the car dock doesn't work with the case on. I hate having to take it off, but at least it's pretty easy.

There seems to be 2 types of materials, 3 finishes.
On mine, the clearish part is a slightly-bendable hard plastic with the texture of what all of my matte hard plastic. Think the type of plastic that is one most power adapters (that aren't shiny) but add a slightly bendable aspect to it.
The black part on the back is shiny, slick, smooth, and more flexible. It's similar to silicon cases (what I can assume you mean by soft gel/rubber) but I think it's still different. It seems to be less "floppy" even though it is very bendable. The shiny black part seems to "stick" to certain surfaces (such as my desk and other hard/flat surfaces) but not to some that you would expect (it doesn't stick to my pockets at all and glides just fine across my clothing, car seat, and non-leather furniture - it might stick to leather, I don't know). The black part on the front appears to be the same material as the black part on the back, but with a matte finish. The result of the different finish is that it doesn't have the "stickiness" on much of any surface, yet still gives your hand a slight bit of grip beyond what the stock TBolt gives you.
Overall, the "feel in hand" is comfortable and it gives you extra grip but doesn't feel sticky or anything like that. Imagine going from a slick, hard-plastic phone to a phone with a rubberized body (like our TBolt has). Going from a naked TBolt to this case is kinda like taking that one step further. But in no way could I ever describe it as "feeling sticky" in my hand or pocket.

So it looks like/feels like it's not going to just fall apart or anything like that, if that's what you mean. I can't envision drops/dings or other daily use wearing it down.
The ONE concern that I have about it holding up is because it is made with two types of "plastic" (I don't know if it's plastic, silicon, rubber, or whatever, hence my quotes). I fear that if I take the case off and on a lot (for my car dock), that the joints of the two plastics might start to come apart. This is NOT based on any quality issues that I have seen so far, just a concern based on the fact that this wasn't produced in a single mold when it was melted down (this is coming from somebody with an engineering background).
I will be shocked, though, if I have a problem with this case in the next 6 months, and for $5, well, I'd say that's pretty damned good!

Read my post a couple posts up about the 2 different types of materials with 3 finishes. As best as I can tell, the inside is the same material as the outside. What this means is that 60% of it is the very flexible plastic while the clear part does cover ~40% of the back. I would expect the black part to offer more protection to a fall/bump than the clear part, and fortunately the black part covers most of the corners and edges. Still, I expect the clear part to offer more protection than a hard plastic case would.
Updated the OP with some photos. Perhaps they will help.
thanks for the detailed feedback!
This case will also fit into the Verizon holster/shell combo holster. You just can't use the VZW shell, but it'll slide into the holster. The fit is a little snug, but it works. I like to swap out this case with the VZW shell. This one provies more protection, but the VZW one is pretty cool too.
In case anybody was wondering, I got mine from this seller from China: http://goo.gl/62Fhx
It took something like 10 days to get to me, but I didn't mind since it cost less than a good burger.

White black duo-shield soft skin hard case

This is for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, not the GSM Variant.
I ordered this case from the suggestion of another person on twitter and it came in the mail today. I was especially intrigued by it because he said it fit the extended battery rather well!
It turns out that it does and seems to be one of the first I have found (besides the Otterbox Series) that fits the phone with the extended battery included.
It is made of high quality materials, and isnt a lint collector in my pocket which is a big one for me. Below are a link to the pictures of the phone w/ the extended battery and the case itself.

I have this case in white/purple and loved it, but was concerned about the back getting "scratched" since the plastic part doesn't have any felt or cushioning. What are your thoughts on this? Is there any reason to be concerned in your opinion?

The plastic seems to be fairly strong, for example, it seems the coating is of high quality which makes it not easily scratch able.
For the most part I am not worried about the case being scratched and I really like it.
I was worried about the back of the phone getting scratched by the plastic part that touches it. You have noticed no scratches on your phone from this case?

Thank you for your review and your opinion! That makes me feel a bit better about using that case as it is my favorite so far. I am still looking at the Kraken (when they make one), Rearth Rinke and SGP. I also have one of those cases that look like the ballistic ones. I like it though it does make it a bit bulkier.
Just ordered the White/Green one to go with my Beats . I'm a sucker for anything Lime Green, I have been going naked on the phone, hopefully I'll like this case. Biggest thing I was worried about what being a lint magnet, good thing it isnt

How much weight does it add?? I love how light this phone is and I'm looking for a case that doesn't add much weight

anything similar for the gsm?
I also ordered this case Black/Red. I have a GSM version. The difference between the LTE/GSM is .53mm so Im thinking it'll be fine. I read a negative review about this case that discouraged me but after reading this thread im feeling a lil better. Pics look great on the SGN. Also Carbon Fiber Ghost Armor will be between my boo boo (lol) and the case so I'm not worried about the plastic scratching my phone. It also comes with a Naked Shield screen protector wich I've read is a wet application. Any thoughts on the included screen protector? Is it any good? Doubt id peel my Ghost Armor screen protector off for any other but im still interested if it's good.

It adds near 0 weight to the phone, at least it seems as if it does not which is the important part
I just got this, LOVE IT! although it does add some bulk it barely added much weight and it fits well with the extended battery with one exception, I had to remove my skin that was installed on the phone... I was a little shocked it wouldn't fit with that skin but I guess I don't need it...

SEIDIO Active Case Review w Pics

This is my review of my new Seidio Active Case. I own a Ballistic, D3O and now this. It is not bulky & does add much thickness. It is 2 pieces, similar to Ballistic - inside silicone and hard plastic shell. The silicone is smooth similar to the D3O but unlike Ballistic. It isn't the same material as D3O so it does pick up some lint but easily wipes off. It has a kickstand that seems pretty durable. The smooth silicone is easy to slide in & out of pants pockets (doesn't get hung up). It does not make screen protectors bubble - if you see the bubbling at the bottom it is from my D3O case use and wont go away...
Overall, this will be my daily case. I am very happy with it and it looks slick! I will be happy to answer any questions. Added pics below....
Thanks for the review, really like that back stand.
I just picked up this case and already love it. It really isn't any more noticeably bulky than the TPO or Insignia case I used before, yet my phone feels more protected and fits like a glove, unlike the other two that weren't quite as form fitting as I would like. The kickstand is just an awesome bonus.
So far, definitely the best case I've used for this phone.
Same case, same opinion here. Awesome, not too bulky. I'd prefer naked, but I run a Distribution Warehouse, and use my phone at work. Taking falls into concrete is bad for phones.
Any good deals on this case?
I have the blue one, it really is a nice case and pretty sturdy.

Blue Seidio
Great review. I bought the Seidio Active case after my black and white D30 developed cracks for no apparent reason (it had never been dropped) Luckily TMO let me return it.
I bought the Seidio Active Combo (Blue) with holster of Amazon for 40.00 Shipped. I like the case because it is easy to remove so you can swap batteries. A little thicker than the D30 but not as thick as many other cases. Buttons and port openings line up perfectly. It does attract a little dust or pocket lint. Some early reviews spoke of an echo with the speakerphone. It did not do that on mine.
The Sapphire Blue is a metallic type color that seems to change a bit under different kinds of light. The pics I've seen did not do justice to the blue finish. I just want to find a paint like this for my scooter.

Seidio Active case kickstand
Love the case and like you said it looks slick. Just have one question. from pictures I have seen the kickstand looks as though it protrudes from the back of the phone. Does this cause the phone to not sit flat when you set it on it's back? Do you get a rocking affect if you were to try to type with the phone flat on it's back?

It does cause a slight slant but the rocking effect is minimal and only when you are pressing the very bottom of the screen. To be honest, I never even realized this until testing for you... If I press the screen anywhere above the bottom 1/4 of the phone there is no rocking. Hope this helps!
That is awesome to know. Honestly that was my only reservation about getting this case. I love the look of it and doesn't seem to add much bulk to the case. Thanks for following up on this, now I can order one!

Going to order later on tonight so I will definitely let you know! Thanks again....
this is by far the best t989 case available, however would be nice if they would make the surface case for the t989 version. its a solid hard case that adds very lil bulk and more protection, its also very easy to remove. i had it for my sensation and would love it for this one. but seidio seemed to leave the t989 out on it bc its available on all other sg2 models except ours.
My damn kickstand always made a very noticeable click when I would use it but today it broke off. Sent email to Seidio waiting to here back from them. If they can send me a new kickstand I think I can fix it.

Yeah, I got my first one back when I had my Galaxy Nexus LTE. After being happily surprised I got both the hard shell and TPU for my Nexus 4 and will be using this one on my future HTC One. Hopefully sales are good enough for the TPU that they release a hard shell case.

Yeah I'm scared to make the switch to HTC and sense since I've had stock since the gnex lte but I've never owned an HTC device and I always thought sense looked nice. I've heard so many bad things about it that it has me worried, but I guess I've gotten bored of pure stock for a bit and its time to try something new. Either way I can't wait to try it out. Hopefully its worth it!

I got my Diztronic Gray TPU case today, and since I've been using the HHI (purchased from that $0.99 sale last week) I figured I'd share the differences having them both in hand.
As I said above, I had a Diztronic TPU on a previous phone and enjoyed it although it had a few flaws (excess molding flash around buttons, missing NC mic hole). Being a tightass I jumped on the cheap HHI case deal, figuring I'd take a chance on other manufacturers matching that same quality.
And I was rewarded for my cheapness with a cheap case. The HHI case has two big problems as far as I'm concerned. The cutout for the power button is pill shaped, following the contour of the button and projecting upwards away from the case. It doesn't leave much room for a finger to press, especially when trying to use your index finger when one-handing it. I remedied this with an X-Acto and a soldering iron to smooth the cut, opening up the button hole towards the back of the case. More troubling though is the fit around the front of the case. HHI managed to get the back of the case to fit the curves of the One nicely. However they didn't account for the bevel around the One's bezel. The side effect of this is that the corners don't stretch the front portion enough, leaving the sides to bow out a couple of mm at the center of each side. I don't think this would affect the function of the case in an impact, but at best it ruins the straight line aesthetic of this phone. One lesser annoyance is the molding seam that runs the entire perimeter, which isn't distracting to the touch but is very obvious against the transparent side pieces.
The HHI seems like it would be a functional case from the aspect of being protective: it covers the corners with shock absorbing TPU and protects the bezel where it counts. It goes in and out of pockets easily and the matte clear blends well with the color of the silver phone.
Today the Diztronic came in and the extra $11.51 proved well worth it. The Diztronic case fixes both of the issues I had with the HHI: the power button cutout is nearly flush with the button at the front and back, making it easy to push, and the front fits snug and stays straight along the edges. Like the HHI, the cutouts all line up ok, and while it doesn't make a functional difference the camera cutout is centered maybe 1mm too low. Unlike the HHI, the molding seams are small and in the corners. My previous TPU case experience was with a black case, so time will tell if I'll see this one turn yellow after a few months. If that happens (and supposedly it's inevitable with clear TPU) I'll buy the black version without hesitation.
TL;DR: The HHI and Diztronic TPU cases both do their jobs, but the Diztronic is well worth the extra money for the fit and finish.

Haha 'tis is true but I remember I got my HTC One S case for approximately $7 or so but
nevertheless I am quite content with this case! I just recieved it today, so far so good. I was a little concerned that it would cover the camera a little as the cutout looks really tight and possibly even touches the lens but it actually doesn't affect the pictures which is fine for me!
Otherwise I'm liking it! I feel like it is definitely a little more protected than it would be naked but slim enough to not make much of a difference although I do miss the aluminum unibody feel a little..
Just to add, definitely not going to protect much from a crazy fall or anything but I already knew that when I decided to purchase it.
Purchased this case after seeing everyone's reviews here. Thanks everyone!

Tudia Ultra Slim Melody Case

Has anyone got one? They look nice and get good reviews on Amazon but would be good if someone who has one could post some pics of the real thing. I have the Spigen ultra hybrid which looks great but adds a lot of bulk to the phone and doesn't feel so great. I also have a cheapo tpu case which actually feels great but the finish is a bit poor and its a little saggy.

Really works for me. Try this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FOAK9CK?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1&ref_=aw_bottom_links
I don't have one, nor any experience with the maker, but they do look on the thicker side for TPU cases.
Now it's working... how so?
Yeah it seems like on the thicker side.
Got one of these today and really love it! Fantastic case.
"TPU" and "Ultra Slim" should never be uttered in the same sentence unless that sentence is "Nothing about TPU is ultra slim by any stretch of the imagination."
stahp.
Great case! Fits the phone perfectly without room for it to slide up and down inside the case. Buttons are not too hard to press but a little more difficult. All ports are accessible. The speaker grill cut out isn't perfectly put, but is just fine.
Still waiting for mine to be delivered, looks like it's coming from the UK from the US via snail mail.

how much is the shipping ?
£1.99
Got it the other day - nice case fist really well with no saggyness, I have ditched my spigen ultra hybrid for this as that whilst looking cool was too bulky.
This is a mediocre case at best. It's slim, but has the sticky feel of glossy TPU, which I hate. The design on the back may or may not appeal to you -- I found it repulsive. Overall, with this case, you get what you pay for. I personally think it ruins the aesthetics of the Nexus 5.

If the back is so repulsive why on earth did you buy it in the first place? It was quite evident in the pictures and listings that it was glossy tpu and the back was the way it is. Surely one of the main reasons people buy this case is because they like the design on the back. The case is cheap but alot better quality than other tpu cases ( of which I have bought 2) of a similar price and ruins the aesthetics no more than any other case, compared to other cases I have bought including the spigen it follows the contours of the phone well.

Do you honestly think I would have bought it if I had known that I didn't like the back design? It looked great in the photo, but not when I had it in my hands.
