Pdair - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

So many write about this Pdair so i checked them out.
Visited their site.
What a shady establishment this Pdair...
Nowhere on their site they mention an address.
Nowhere they mention the name of a person.
Nowhere a phone number or even a fax.
It is not even possible to see from what jurisdiction they operate from and where they are registered.
If you do a whois of pdair.com you get a domain privacy service used to hide their address.
What do they have to hide? That they are a small shack in Quanxi, China?

Almost all of their products can be bought on Ebay for less then 5$, including shipping from Hong Kong. The tpu/silikon cases have a value of less then 2$, including shipping.
What address they write on their invoice?

They are pretty old and established.
I have been buying their stuff for over 8 years.
Their stuff may be being ripped off.

I have bought from PDair for years. They ship fast and I received my items in NY, USA within 7 days, fast considering it's coming from China. In fact I just bought a case this past Christmas for my HTC EVO and my Galaxy Note, and they are a perfect fit, and well constructed. I used to use higher end cases such as Sena, but the PDair cases compete with the best of them. I would absolutely buy from PDair again in a heartbeat. I have no complaints.

In my country, or at least my city, PDAir products are sort of the higher class stuff in phone accessories stores in malls when it comes to leather cases. Never looked at their company how you did though. But I'm not saying I disagree. But their stuff do look nice and certainly feel durable. I was actually waiting for the nearby mall to restock on PDAirs for my Note.

I got the PDair leather belt case from Amazon. It shipped from China and arrived surprisingly fast. The quality is superb. This is my first PDair product and now I am definitely a fan of this company.

They hide so much that I decided to find out what is behind all this hiding.
I was right. They are in China.
Shenzhen, China to be precise. 1 hour from Hong Kong.
Owner Mingo Chui. He and his wife Eva Chui run the business.
Here they are:

It is a legit business and they do manufacture their own product.
They just do not want you to know they are in China I guess.
A lot of details about Pdair with photos of their manufacturing plant:

I trust them more now that I know more about them.

That might be the one I was thinking of. Can you post few pics? What is the inside made of? Is it soft material that goes against the screen?

Here are some photos of the PDair leather belt case.* The case is thin and is made of a nice soft leather.* The inside of the case also has a leather quality and is soft, so it should not scratch the Note.* The Galaxy Note with a TPU case fits nicely into the PDair belt case (the GNote is in the PDair case in the last photo). This leather case does have a small magnetic closure as shown. The magnet is small and the magnetic field is directed away from the inside of the case. I did some basic testing and found no significant magnetism within the case, so I seriously doubt it could affect the Wacom digitizer or anything else within the GNote. I have not experienced any issues.

Would you please post a picture of the cover "open, with the Note inside" ?
Why do they have to use magnets if they know we are sensitive about it and the manual says do not use magnetic covers?

Magnet is very low power. It does not affect the Note at all. I find the case to be top notch in every way. Very high quality product!

I have a PDair vertical holster case which I bought through Amazon. It took about 2 weeks to get here (US), but that was in December, and it was faster than Amazon promised. It's a high quality item (which it should be considering the price) and I like it very much.
-Uwe-

I do not doubt it is good quality, but I wish they would not use magnets.
We have a Geomagnetic Sensor in the phone.

legion1911, here you go. When using holster cases, I always face the glass toward my body, just in case I bump into something. The distance between the small magnet and the screen is on the order of 2 cm. Based on the size of the magnet and its position facing out, I would be really surprised if it had any effect on the GNote. I certainly see your point though. They should offer a Velcro solution as well.

Rearth Ringke Atrix Case Review

So I got contacted in a PM from this person asking me if Id be willing to check out their case. I saw they only had one post and I thought it was spam at first. Im used to getting PM's about getting free iPad's and whatnot so I figured this was part of the mix. They wanted my name and address to ship me a case to try and review. Cant trust anyone these days asking for your personal information right?
Then I clicked the link under the signature of the sender. Rearth was the company I got linked to. I had never heard of this company before and wasnt sure if I was still involved with a ruse or not. Then I did some digging and found that this was a new company to the US making cases for popular phones and other devices.
I figured why not and PM'd back my information. I promptly got an email thanking me for taking part of the review process and was given a tracking number for the case.
Unfortunately, they put my address on the shipment incorrectly. I watched the shipment daily in my tracker as it went from their warehouse, to my local post office, only to see the next label as shipped back to sender for bad address. Oh well, I thought it was too good to be true and was still under the impression it was too good to be true.
I emailed the person I was in contact with what had happened and they apologized and said a new case was being shipped out immediately. Needless to say, a new one was shipped and I actually received it today.
After all the said and done, the first word I can use to describe the case is "Impressive".
The packaging was very nice and was able to see the case distinctly through the packaging. When I opened up the box, a little bag fell out with the case. This is apparently something exclusive to Rearth that I hadnt seen before but is one of those "Duh, why didnt I think of that" type things. The bag contained two little audio jack caps(one white and one clear). They fit very nicely into the audio jacks and are flush with the case when its all installed. I very rarely use my audio jack so it was nice to have something to close it up so lint or other stuff dont get inside.
I didnt have choice of color for the case but luckily I am a fan of yellow and it looks good on the phone. First thing I noticed about the case was how flexible it is and yet protective feeling at the same time. There are many flexible cases on the market that slip over the phone and feel like they would tear within a matter of days and justify the $1.99 you paid on ebay for it. This case however is not in the same league, its way above that.
The case is made from a very high quality silicone and it really feels like it. I really like that its got a texture to it but its not sticky either. Its hard to describe in words. Its slippery enough to slide in and out of your jean pocket easily without pulling out lint(a la Otterbox), but has a very fine coarseness to it that fingers cling to so that it wont be dropped too easily either.
Im used to using hard cases on all my phones that clip in and out of a holster(Seidio cases specifically) so this is my first experience using a softer silicone case. I like that it fits the phone perfectly without any flimsiness. The volume buttons are covered, but raised to feel the individual up and down, but the cutouts for all the other parts are precision cut. The cutout for the fingerprint reader is angled properly all the microphone and speaker ports are perfect. And like I previously mentioned, having the little cap in the audio port matches up perfectly and is a great feature. This little cap I have found, will work with other cases as well.
After using this case for much of the day I feel that I will be using this more and more as my daily case instead of the Seidio. I really like that the Seidio fits into the belt clip perfectly but I dont use that too often. And the Rearth case seems like it might protect it better with my daily tossing and dropping of the phone than the hard Seidio case.
Dont get me wrong, I still love my Seidio cases, but if I were going to put my money down on a silicone case for my phone or other device, it would definitely be from Rearth. I highly recommend this case to anyone in the market for a moderately priced silicone case. Keep an eye on this company, they are here to stay.

I ordered one after reading some reviews on here. Good strategy on their part.
I also just ordered one. I have always like silicone vs the hard case.
LOVE this case in black! Has some texture to it, you may or may not like it, but I do. Very slim, will update tomorrow confirming with the car dock fit. Charging dock only really works with top plate removed.

Sorry, answered in a different thread. It physically fit inside the car dock, activates car mode with the clip secured, but the lip of the top clip doesn't reach to the face of the phone, it grips the top of the phone ok.

Not sure why you used all caps...but seriously...contact them? 2 months is actually a decent amount of time for a silicone case...

[Review] Acase Leather Ez Folio Case

So the initial reason why I decided on the galaxy tab was because of its incredibly thin profile and light design.
I searched for days picking apart cases so I could keep that thin, light profile.
Well I think we found a winner folks. Its the Acase Ez Leather Folio Case.
It has an excellent feel to it, holding the tablet very tightly inside. It has those nifty magnetic flaps to keep it shut when needed. It has all of the ports cut out properly, including speakers, and the build quality is top notch.
It really has the two best viewing angles you could ask for. Perfect for typing, perfect for watching movies.
When you fold back its flap, it keeps the tablet thin and easy to view in landscape.
I guess my only 2 gripes is there not being a cut out for the charger when the flap is closed. But that seems to be very common among all folio cases. I guess they are trying to keep the dust out. Not a big deal for me as I am pretty good with a ruler and an exacto knife.
My other gripe is the bowing of the edges around the rim of the glass. It doesnt lay completely flat or flush. Although I will say its extremely stiff and probably the best I've seen in comparison. Alot of the other folio cases use a super thin and flapity leather or vinyl and, not only does it look cheap its very loose. This one is definitely an improvement over those. Its tight and uses a very thick, high quality leather, best I've seen.
If your looking for a high quality leather folio case that will keep your tablet thin & light without breaking the bank, then I recommended you go pick this one up on Amazon for $30 Shipped.
Dont forget to hit thanks if this post helped you!!

Looks very functional and thin but I am not loving the contrast white stitching.
I can't decide if I want to put full Ghost Armor on my GT or go for one of these type of cases. I would have loved the knock off Apple smart case, hopefully Samsung will approve that one soon. Screw crapple.
Personally, I love the white stitching. It matches my wallet and shoes! Haha.
Comparing it to all other folio cases, at least this one is unique with its own bit of personality and style. Searching through tons of cases, I was tired of seeing the same boaring straight black cases. I guess to each his own, but I like it cause it stands out.

Thanks for this! I was about to pull the trigger on the official Samsung case, but then I figured I'd take another quick look at the forums to see if I missed anything. I looked at your post and immediately changed my mind. I was looking for something that didn't add much bulk to the device, but would protect it fairly well. This looks pretty stylish to boot.
Also got a 3 pack of the same company's screen protectors for the Tab for 20 percent off with purchase of this case on Amazon. Ordering the case and the protectors, with next day shipping on Prime was 48 dollars, still about 20 dollars less than the Samsung case. Thank you SO much!
I like the case, just not the stitching, just my opinion.
The problem with getting such a brand new device is there not being anough quality choices in cases. Happens to me a lot because I unfortunately like to be an early adopter. I have spent so much money on Blackberry cases because I changed berries so damn often. Same happene with my Evo, bought a Golla pouch that I thought I would really like and then ended up not liking it so I got something else.
I may just do a full Ghost Armor for now until I find the ideal case, or just get the pasic slip in case for now.
I would have to agree on the stitching aspect. I like the case and would definitely buy it but I just think that doesn't sit with me for some reason. Thanks for the review.Nice to get one from a user aspect and not a company. Something I have been reading and searching for all day.
I love the look of this case. I am down to this case and the Melkco case. Tough decision to make.
Your welcome!

One of these days i will take a picture of my shoes and wallet and youll see what im talking about
This reminds me of the Yoobao executive folio case that I had for my iPad2. Have been looking for something like that and this is almost exactly like it.
Thx alot for the tip bro.
I received my Acase case today. It is a very sleek leather case that does not take away from it's attractiveness and yet its a great protective cover for my GT10.1. It is the best of both worlds.
Amazon Prime members can get it for a total of 24.95 landed.

Got mine and have been using it for about three weeks. I agree with the review overall. Unfortunately, the stitching on one of the corners is coming apart. I hope I can return it.
As long as you haven't poured something on the case or abused the case, you should be able to rightfully claim poor workmanship. No vendor wants to see bad reviews of their business on Amazon or on any message board.
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I think this deserves some bumpage.
I've been using the case for a few weeks now and I have one major complaint. Either the stitching is coming loose, or the leather is wearing down already. The leather tab that folds over the tablet to keep it in place does not stretch tightly anymore.
This means that when holding the tablet normally, since the bottom of the tablet rests on this flap, the tablet falls through the case quite a bit. Not only do the speakers get covered since it's not sitting right in the case anymore, but the entire thing is just annoying. Very hard to hit volume or power buttons, etc.
The Tab has not fallen completely out of the case....yet. But I can see that is where this is heading.
Funny thing is, I haven't even used the Tab all that much since getting the case. This case wore VERY quickly, and now I'm looking into other options. Don't think I can get my money back from Amazon at this point either
Anybody else with this case seeing this happen?

Ringke SGSII Case

Recently got this case as an alternative to the Otterbox case that I have. At times, I found that the otterbox was too bulky to have in my pocket and I wanted a case that preserved the slimness of the handset. After picking up a generic TPU case from ebay, I wasn't satisfied with the cutouts; specifically the two microphone cutouts. it muffled it so people weren't able to hear me talk.
Enter the Ringke case. It was obviously more expensive than a $5 from ebay at 16.99, but the notion of a non-slip polymer like a TPU case had appealed to me.

After putting it on my phone, I immediately noticed the difference between the two cases. The cutouts on each of the ports was perfectly fitted with space at the bottom of the case for the home button, which is a nice touch
The lanyard port on the side was also included, unlike both the otterbox case that I have and the TPU case.
On the top, the headphone jack port is easily accessible. I was able to plug in my grado sr80i headphones without having any issues like I did with the TPU case. The external mic port is also well placed.
The material used to make the case is not just silicon. There is a special polymer material that allows it to slip in and out of my pocket easily. It also doesn't attract dust like other silicon cases. The only gripe I have with this is that since I got the mango colored one, the dye from my jeans rubs off onto the material.
All in all, I'm happy with the case and would definitely go back to Rearth for any other silicon cases.

that's great! i dont mind paying the sub $20 it came out to if OP's review is accurate!
My turn!
So today I got my RearthUSA Ringke Galaxy S2 case in the mail. Chuck from marketing had initially contacted me a few weeks ago via XDA PM to ask me to try and rate/review the Ringke product for the S2 and he has been very friendly/courteous all throughout this process.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw this case was: WOW. This is definitely a high quality product. The material (a high quality polymer, as they say) feels great on the skin and slides easily in and out of a pocket. The polymer also makes the case extremely flexible making it very easy to put on. It also shines nicely in the light. I got a blue one as, you'll see below in my album.
I love the look of it. I love how it fits so well with the contour of the phone. I love the intricate details in the design such that it moulds well with every nook and cranny in the device's design.
Every single thing that you need access to has an opening: the USB port, the microphone, the camera, the speaker, the headphone jack and three more for things I can't figure out but are definitely part of the phone (except for the one at the top right, couldn't figure that one out at all). And they are done EXCEPTIONALLY well; no rough edges at all.
The volume rockers and power button feel great. They're really tactile unlike some other cases where it feels like you're forcing the case into the button to press it.
The pictures I took are really big and look bad in a forum, so here's a direct link to the ImageShack album I made:
http://imageshack.us/g/52/img0987ab.jpg/
I obviously got this product for free, but it only costs $16.99 with FREE SHIPPING. If I were to suggest a case to anyone, it would be this one. The unfortunate thing for me is that I don't use cases because of my car dock. I find it annoying to have to take the phone out of the case AT LEAST two times a day, every day. It's funny, because this is a free product that I didn't think I would care much about, and I'm honestly upset about the fact that I can't use it. I may try for a few days to see how much of a nuisance it is to be constantly taking it out and putting it back in.
I WISH this case fit with my official S2 car dock.

Has anyone tried both the Ringle and the SGP ultra silke? My SGP ultra silke seems too loose and I would like to get a tighter fitting case.
Cut outs and buttons on the SGP are superb and the Ringke looks equivalent.

Both are a bit loose as both are very thin silicone..cut outs are perfect with both
For a tighter fitting you must try a tpu case...
I thought I would share with you the Maroon coloured version of the Ringke case. I also purchased the Ringz audio cap along the case. Overall I like the case and recommend it. The surfaced etching layer on top of the high polymer really gives the case a nice feel that does not attract dust or fingerprints. I was disappointed to find out that Rearth now do micro USB caps after I have purchased the case. I would of like these as well and the expensive delivery charge to international countries is preventing me from doing this.
The only minor drawbacks of this case is it is not going to fully protect your phone from major drops. The top microphone cut out is not centred and it is slightly loose around the volume and power button. Not sure how long the material is going to last but I hope it will last the entire life of the phone.
After using this case for over a month now. The material is starting to get sticky on the corners. This is a shame but I guess once a silicone case always a silicone case regardless of any coating.
free cases, bah! I pay for all my cases and may review them anyway.
free good for review= good review.
Top right corner is missing because its for korean version. Wrong case or wrong phone?
Ringke should have maybe made a tiny lanyard hole in top of case to connect 'lanyarded' jack plug. Same with USB plug. So plugs can't get lost. Furthermore, the plugs should come with the case as default. Not too much to ask for that price. I mean the price that other people pay for the case. But nice review, pretty nice detailed case. Like the speaker detail. NOT top right corner. Do they make this case with all 4 corners protected?
Flashing your galaxy, press Y to continue..

I think the case is very slick - nice and thin.
No sure how much protection it offers though.
Probably enough for light impact / against scratches etc. and probably none for 50cm+ drops.
I like that case! Looks really good and professional. Especially if you know the hassle with the Dell Streak cases.

The neoprene pouch looks good, but I really want a pouch with a belt clip.
Looking around I found a universal necklace pouch which may or may not fit the Note, but I'm not going to wear a necklace.
Er, can't post links yet, discountcell dot com has the item number CLUNINEKLIT.

I asked a question as to whether this would actually fit the note. By the looks of it they have just taken the images from cases for other phones, as there is no way the note would fit in it. I'm not sure how custom it is, but I haven't received a response to my question, so I don't think I'll be buying from them until there is confirmation it will actually fit.
Edit: Seems I did get a response, but I only got an email for the first message (a more trivial question). To quote their response:
The pictures are from other model phone. But we can make it to fit Samsung Galaxy Note perfectly.
I believe we can hold them to this, so I might get it.
Here in Greece i had a "leather" pouch custom sewn for my Note at a cost of 20 euros.
It fits nicely and was modded on that of the HTC HD2.
what happens when we drop the note ? will a leather pouch save it from the fall?
such expensive devices need real protection. if only otterbox released a case.
Good point, a pouch won't protect against fall. It will, however, allow the device to be mounted to a belt. That being said, I am still undecided how to go about it. I will probably wait until I have it to make the decision.

I have had a string of devices with PDair vertical sliding cases.
I find them to be the most practical, while offering very good protection.
Am waiting for an order for a case for the Note.
They did have some online when I ordered but have pulled the webpage.
I used to buy cases from Beyza but they seem to have gone over to the dark side and have completely dropped HTC phone cases from their inventory.
Maybe they will make a case for the Note.
Did a quick ebay search and found a 4 results from Germany for Galaxy Note screen protectors by 3M.... never bought from them, but seller ratings look good.

Piel frama is making one solid mobilecase for the galaxy note.
http://www.pielframa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-cases.htm
I have a case from piel frama for my htc hd2 and it is outstanding. I can drop my phone with ease and the phone is allright. It will cost some bucks but so does your phone.

This one i'm aiming for. This will protect the note when it comes for the size of the note.
And, is a screenprotector relevant??? If someone could tell me if it's still needed to protect the screen when it is made of gorilla glass... thnx in advanced.

for once, I will not use screen protector on the GNote. It 'kills' the beauty of the display.

I totally agree with you on that. And because of the kind of glass you dont need a screenprotector anyway . I'll wait till the white note comes and buy the case from piel frama because my hd2 still looks new after 2 years.

PDAir cases for the Note are only $23.99 with free shipping at expansys-usa:
http://www.expansys-usa.com/s.aspx?search=pdair galaxy note
I ordered one of the Book Type ones while I'm waiting for a more premium quality leather case for the Note to be released.
Expected December 12th? That's a month from now. I think I'll wait until then to see if anything else is released.

Smart cover clone for galaxy tab

I was looking for covers for my tab and found these on ebay

I am also interested in this. Im glad that it has a case of the back side, I already got a small scratch
nice case
I have one. It's a nice case. I've had leather portfolio cases, tpu, etc and this is my favorite by far. Nice and thin but covers the screen nicely.
I just got one from ebay. It's quite nice! What I like about it is that it's thin so doesn't really make the galaxy tab that much fatter like a lot of other cases. The stand functions are pretty nice, the strips on the cover are magnetic (although the magnet isn't very strong). They, however, do not turn the screen on and off; which is expected since it's not an ipad 2, but on ebay the description said that it does that so it was a bit of false advertising there. Overall I think you really can't go wrong when it's 10 bux for the case and 99 cents for shipping. It did take 20 days to ship however! Also be aware that the flap doesn't close magnetically, so there is no certain mechanism that holds the cover in place it just covers the screen.
Wow this forum won't let me post the link to the one I bought, there are a few different ones, but since you can do a search it's the one for 10 bucks.
I just got this case on ebay last week, and its great, except the cover does not stick (magnets or anything), but it´s OK.
ITEM 220933221745 on ebay i can´t post links yet.

That case is very nice looking but it is a bit pricey, basically $55 USD shipped to US. With that being said, I am very tempted to order it.

Reading the other descriptions and for what I've found on e-bay, i'm realy convinced that this one is good. I've ordered one.
Here is a quick video on the case

Does it feel thick? Is it noticeably lighter than book cases?

It doesn't feel thick, but what surprised me was the weight with the case. Compared to the book case, I wouldn't know. I'm not sure why (being that the case feels light), but it does make the the tab feel heavier. Eventually I'll buy the book case, but for now this is a good case for under $20.

I have a book case. It provides good protection and good for stand. But it adds thickness and weight. I don't like it when I am just reading. This case is 9oz and a book case is around 11oz. So, it should feel pretty close to it when it comes to weight.

I've seen 2 types of smart cover cases.
The snap-in type described above, such as:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Smart-Cover-...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item5d303b5069
or a slide-in type, such as:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SAMSUNG-GALA...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item33701c41a9
I've seen both go by different names and different sellers on different sites, but I'm guessing based on the similarity that there are really just 2, sold by different distributors.
Has anyone tried both versions? I'm curious whether one is better build/feel and/or less bulky/lighter.
I've currently got a Samsung Book Cover Case which is pretty slim, but I don't like the way the Tab is upside-down in the shallow angle. I'm thinking one of these might suite me better, so long as they are comparable to my current case in terms of bulk and weight (if not better).
Thanks!
Anyone try this case?

Haven't tried that case but it's one of the 2 styles I've mentioned in the post above yours.
Obviously the seller is full of *** in that he claims it will wake and sleep your tablet (it won't) and confuses the galaxy tab with "tablet pc" and "apple tablet" throughout his description.
Beyond those caveats, I spent some time yesterday fishing out limited reviews on this case and found a small number of customer reviews on dealxtreme and amazon. They were almost uniformly negative: sharp corners, cheap, cardboard like material, weak magnets. Based on these reviews I'd go for the other style smart cover case (the one where you snap the tab in rather than slip it in).
The one advantage this type seems to have is it appears to be a little lighter.

Thanks, I think I might go the same route as well.

I have the first case of the two mentioned a few posts above and I have to say it's quite nice.
It's not perfect but it really is quite thin and makes the tablet more portable.
I got it on Amazon on new year's eve and I think it was on sale for $20 or $15 (I remember I was surprised at the price drop for the color I wanted).
The good:
Everything mentioned above.
The Bad:
The folding screen cover blocks the docking/charging port so it needs to be uncovered in order to charge.
When folded into a high position stand, the docking/charging port is on the bottom and is blocked by the surface (can't charge while tablet is standing).
It really isn't bad. I think the problems mentioned above have to do with the fact that the tab's port is not on the same side as the volume/power buttons.
Hope this helps you decide.
I received the snap in cover identical to the one in wo0urds video review. Overall I like it. Materials seems nice for a sub $20 Chinese clone. Definitely has some heft to it, but it's very slim. There are weak magnets in it, but it doesn't magnetically stay shut.
The 'leather' material is poorly adhered to the plastic backing. It started coming lose after a day or two. I ended up ripping it off and gluing down much more securely.
Overall I like it and it fits great and looks great. I'd buy it again, but just be aware of what you're buying. It's a good $20 buy, but I wouldn't spend $40 or more (like a lot of cases are).

I have this case too and reviewed it on amazon. Mine is white on the back. I think I adds more weight than it should but is the best case I've found so far.

I myself have the one below and I love it! It's the Samsung Bookcover Case and It's perfect for what I need. The TAB is thin as it is and this gives it a little weight...makes me feel more "protected" 'cause of its added bulk. But it's not that much bigger. I'd recommend this over the cheap covercases out there. It's sturdy, well made and worth the money (in my opinion). As an added feature, I bought the CaseSensor Software for my TAB that locks the TAB when you close the cover and unlocks/wakes it up when you open it. It's pretty neat and works well most of the time.

I bought a few cases and now using a light blue/jean color version of it and it's pretty lightweight.
Roughly US$25 shipped worldwide.
