[Baseband/Radio] KRKL1 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

This is the KRKL1 radio that came with the the Korean 4.0.2 update (yakjukr/M420/SK Telecom). I did not dump this myself, as I am rooted and running a custom ROM and kernel, but rather it was found on a Korean Nexus forum. I decided to upload it here for the benefit of non-Korean speaking users.
Unfortunately, I did not document the signal strength of KRKK7, so I can only offer empirical evidence of any change (of which there is little to none). While I cannot attest to any benefits in battery life or signal, conversely there are also no problems.
If I run into any issues, I will document them here.

Yes. Running it on my UK GSM model i9250 and it's perfectly fine. I have no idea why Samsung gave the M420 code to the Korean model. It's the same an the i9250.

I am running it on my GN on O2-UK and I can't see a difference with UGKL1.
Maybe there is a battery difference, we will see

kind of hesitant flashing this

Have you tried it? If yes, what are the benefits?
Best regards

I'm on 3 uk wireless tethering seems so much better with this radio, download speeds better and more consistent, and ping times better and consistent too, yet to try voice and travelling about with it, and so far so good

If anyone cares
MD5 1d85e670433e40ff6fe3a6ec5d9c9c04
tested and working on att

the radio will work on any GSM galaxy nexus, it's location means nothing. if it works the best out of them all, then stick with it.

hopefully will give a try and let you know soon.

KRKL1 just means this is the same as the UGKL1 radio, except for the Korean market. Nothing special here. Not sure why everyone is in a rush to try this.
What we're really looking for is something like an **LA1 or **KL2 radio, both of which would be newer than anything we have thus far.

If they are all the same why google make it hard for it self and region named them. it is not logic. I just flashed this radio, i see wifi signals is lower on the same location comparing the XXKK6, and UGKK7. Will Test the Data speed, also the Detecting the roaming profile for the WINDMOBILE users, as it is a famus issue with the UKKL1

[Q] can't receive SMS on ICS 4.03,SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

Many thanks to baby00921,we get try ICS 4.03 on LU6200,the Asia version of Nitro HD(not sure if it works on Nitro HD in USA or CANADA).
So far everything works fine except SMS receiving,it can be sent out successfully but can nerver be received, not a single one.
Many users here tried the ICS rom,but so far no one worked out the SMS ISSUE
I was wondering if someone here can help us with this ISSUE,thanks in advance.
btw,the animation in the UI,browser and others are all so smooth, you need to try it yourself.
it is rom's problem,I flash it have the same promble

i read about your posts,i don't get it,why have you always been so aggresive??
I'm looking for a solution for a technical problem,i thought that is what this forum IS ABOUT,am i right?
how did you get ics on the lg nitro and can I get it?
It doesn't work on the Nitro HD, so don't ask. Everyone has been filling the Nitro HD forums with this LU6200 nonsense. It's a separate device on it's own using different software, and no one in North America or Europe is going to be able to assist with it.

Sorry,i didnt know that,i thought they were the same. Thanks for the information.
And software is never the problem, there are people customise rom into a fit version.I think we developers here will make it work in the near future(maybe in a few days more).
Once there is an ICS version for Nitro HD,i'll let you guys know.
Just curious, but did you check the SMS Service Center #? The issue you're having sounds like what happens when that number is removed or changed from what your carrier assigned. You can send texts, but not receive them.

Just received my GN and it came with a European(?) charger

I bought this galaxy nexus from Amazon and it came with a European charger. (Two long prongs). Should I return this or will this work just fine on T-mobile?
I imagine amazon will not complain but my personal preference would be to keep it and use usb...

I'm pretty sure all the GSM ones come that way, I know mine did. There should be a white adapter in the box that fits over the two prongs and converts it for use in the States.
Well considering a large # of the imported phones are from Europe, it makes sense. Many importers open the boxes and replace the charges with North American style ones, but some are just "as-is".
The device is the same. Charge it off of USB or any other wall charger you have.

I mostly charge my devices using USB anyways. My only real concern is always having the latest updates from Google. It came with 4.0.1 and it just updated to 4.0.2. How can I be sure it has the right software installed and not something from overseas?

"Something from overseas" is what you want lol. There's no "American" version of the OS (this phone is not sold in the US). The "yakju" (updated by Google) builds come from Europe.
You can check with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.cbruegg.officialupdate
If it's updated by Samsung (aka yakjuxx), you can flash it to yakju in about 5 minutes.

I guess I should've done a little more research before posting this thread. Thanks for the help though. I just checked with that app and it is a yakjuxw. I'm off to find out how to flash yakju.
I ordered from another member on XDA, but it came with these adapters when they bought it, the standard European format with an adapter for the US:

Its very simple. You can kill 2 birds with one stone, and you'll get 4.0.4 and yakju at the same time. It'll unlock your bootloader and wipe the entire device. But from that point, you'll receive OTAs.

Branded 3 UK update available

Couldn't see another post - sorry if there is another regarding this, but just updated on branded 3 UK phone to 1.28.771.9
I got it through yesterday, signal seems to be the only improvement and now my data connection remains active rather than constantly resetting.
I'm behind then lol
My signal seems a bit better too, haven't noticed much on the data front, as I'm mostly on my wi-fi, it seemed ok before though!

[Q] SCH-R890 same as ???

Since I cannot seem to get the search function to return even results I see in recent posts, I am unable to locate any previous posts that may already answer this.
If I purchase the US Cellular variant of the S4 mini (SCH-R890) should I be able to apply root -- and more importantly CM10.2 -- procedures/how-to's that were made/written for the int'l version (GT-I9195) to my phone?
Using carrier supplied software is a deal-breaker for me, and I am not seeing any information from people saying it is or is NOT compatible.
Does anyone have any info to lend?
(Apologies if this should be in Q&A)
For the time it's probably going to be just root. You can't be the only one with that version

Can anyone speak to the possibility of using the int'l ROM on this phone?
i'm interested to know this as well

Yeah! I live in Yonkers, NY and my service with Cricket. This device is like new was a gift from my mother
I really do not want to sell because it has a sentimental value for me. So I'd rather give it to my wife and buy the note 5 of TMO or international because someone told me in another forum ..... that versions are better, be true?

Yes, you can use your phone with T-Mobile, but I'm not sure if the phone will work 100% with their data and network.
Someone will need to clarify on that for you.
For sure, you will not be able to receive updates through T-Mobile. Your phones are still ATT, so they require ATT firmware. In order to receive ATT OTA updates, you have to have an active ATT sim.
However, you can still use Odin to flash your phones with the latest ATT firmwares. You'll be able to find the Odin files here on XDA a couple weeks after a firmware is launched via OTA.
