You can clearly see Android running behind it, so my guess would be some sort of Remote Desktop (RD, VNC, etc..)

It is higly likely a VNC session. Some time ago there was a video showing M$ Word running on NST in the same fashion.
Greetings.

i think it is as you said

It doesn't seem to work very well... But still, I'm doing this.

There are so many USEFUL things that people can be working on, that I can't fathom WHY anyone would waste time to pollute an excellent piece of hardware with balmer's ****.

Could anyone please be so kind to point me in the direction of an app to make the Hermes camera into a webcam, i have tried a couple of time limited shareware apps, one worked and one didnt.
Does anyone know of a freeware app, or something along those lines?
Muchly appreciated!

yes it does. running right now
Its a bit fiddly to setup and you need a PC connection via Activesync
Also, might want to try microsoft portrait http://research.microsoft.com/mcom/portrait/
some have reported problems though with WM6 based ROMS

Thanks. That software looks good. One thing - the camera appears sideways - is there some way to make the image appear the same way up and the camera?

Okay, so this is the problem now. I finally found the program and installed it. Now i Can't seem to connect online via USB. Is there a problem with the program? I uninstalled the program and still can't connect online via USB. Any leads? I was able to connect only just before installing the program.

I can't reproduce your problem. My device networks fine via USB after using the webcam software.
I have activesync installed, but don't have it set up with a partnership for my device (using oggsync instead). Does your activesync sync with your device?
Anything unusual in your network connections settings?
Have you tried a system restore to an earlier point?
HTH.
i had purchased the software and e mailed the company for unlock code.
Given my device id to them but the cab doesnt work.
i had changed my rom with black 2.0 and my radio is 1.4
any idea what could be wrong?

Do you mean that you changed the rom after emailing your device ID? If so, it could well be that your device ID has changed - have a look in your system info screen (as directed by ateksoft) to see if it matches what you sent them.
I had similar issue after changing roms - they sent me a new code.
slow framerate...
Is anyone else experiencing slow framrates???? I'm getting 7-8 fps at most ... ... definitely not liking the webcam at the moment... LOL

The smaller the resolution that faster you will get... but by fast ... i mean 7 fps ... LOL
The framerate depends on the resolution and quality settings you are running at, if you turn the quality and resolution down you can get a good frame rate.
I run the resoultion at 640 x 480 and quality 70/E and the frame rate is fine.

face melter for hd

hi
is there is any application like "face melter" for hd. it is a very good applctn available for iphone
2255
If someone could make an app like this for winmo I would crap myself... I have an Omnia and I dont think the touchscreen is capable of this. A picture morphing app would be cool though.
Heres a little demo video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-F2qSgUupQ
it uses multitouch so as far as i know its not possible to make it like that maybe some kind of varient of this but don't think it could work like that

Unfortunately this wouldn't be possible for the HD due to its inability to have multi-touch at present

What do you mean by "at present". Is there some kind of hope for multitouch?

APP-11 June 2010 - Magic Poker - Fun new free app

I've created this thread for a friend of mine "Jonathan" as he's developed an app for WP7. He has also ported it over to the Android and is currently working on the same for WM6.5! It's a Magic app that is pretty cool. Check it out and if you have an Android phone or WP7 emulator, be sure to load it up and try to find out how it works. Send your guess's to him if you think you know his tricks. Have fun! Thanks again Jonathan. See below..
I developed the app on windows phone 7. The Android app is the same as the WP7.
Here is the video below.
http://www.youtube.com/v/AUCgcq-Ps_U&hl=en_US&fs=1&
Now the android version is on android market as a free app. It's now v2.0, and tested well on 2.1 & 2.2. Not sure about 1.6 & 2.0, but seems can't work on 1.5. The secret of the trick is hidden inside the app, maybe you can guess by yourself how the trick works or try to find the solution somewhere in the app.
Hope you guys will like it and wish you have fun! Thanks!
i guess he is using the capabilties of the microphone to record what cards they are mentioning, since they are saying what cards they have.

I thought so too, but he specifically mentions he's not using a microphone (or actually, he says he uses only the emulator / mouse).
I think it has to do with where you click on the screen:
If you divide the screen into 4 columns (hearts diamonds spades clubs) and 13 rows (1-10, J Q K) you have a 'roster' on which you can click the correct card.
Note that he doesn't click straight away, he first moves the mouse for a few seconds (which looks to be pretty precise)

The place where I click on the screen really matters. But devide it into so many parts is hard for me to control.
Maybe the video is not very clear about all the things, you can check some screenshots here.

Utter! Voice Command Assistant - the must have app

Check out Utter, its amazing and still just in beta, developed by Ben Randall, with its own 200+ page thread here on XDA.

Then you are holding it wrong! LOL I have tried a lot of these voice command assistants, from the S-voice from Samsung to Dragon beta, IRIS, Maanuba, vlingo, and your speaktoit; you name it, I may have tried it. None of them comes close to utter. Which of the other apps can take a verbal instruction to take a freakin screenshot or change the governors on your phone?? None that I have personally come across.
And to boot, this app comes from an XDA member. Who doesn't love that? I'm going to throw money at him as soon as he is able to. There's a lot of work that went in to it and ben(the dev), IMO deserves some fundage. :good:
This app is so clever, just been playing around with it and Tasker, between the 2 apps I can do everything I want. Awesome.
Why does it want root access?

Reboot, set kernel, and a few other things require it.
but you do not have to be rooted to use Utter, and its not doing anything dodgy that you need to worry about, its just so that you can get Utter to do certain things which need root access, if you dont do those things, it doesnt need root access.
Why isn't this bloke working for the Google Now team??

It seems to not recognize my Minnesooooooootan accent perfectly. Some of the commands it seems not to be able to understand. Works OK for most things though. It's still a keeper.

in the customisation menu, you can change/replace words, so for example if every time you say "house" it hears "has" you can tell utter to recognise "house", that may help, or you can try one of the other voice recognition engines in the recognition and voices menu like ispeech or dragon nuance.

Looking at the latest comments on the YouTube video, it looks like Brandall will be bringing some great updates to Utter soon including a car mode possibly and more bluetooth support.
