New battery

Can anyone inform me on the PROPER way to break in a brand new battery (have a ext and standard batt on the way) I think the one that came with my phone is a dud only almost three hours with moderate use on power saver settings! Can anyone tell me the proper way to break in new battery and even some tips to maintain battery health and longevity... thanks in advance.

Once a month, completely drain the battery to the point where the phone shuts off. This will calibrate the battery so your battery meter will become more accurate. I have read the best way to maintain a Poly-lithium battery is to trickle charge, meaning don't always drain it completely just do top ups with the charger. That should keep the batteries life lasting longer.

Thanks a million ....any tips on first time charge ? .I've heard you should charge it about 7 hours evn if the meter says the charge is complete is this true?

Battery saving tips thread.

The search function is not being very helpful, is their a battery saving thread, for our nexus please.. On the galaxy s2, we had such a thread, appreciate your direction please.? I
one discharge last me a month by turning off the phone!!
ur welcome!
there are tons of threads about battery, i bet u did NOT open each one and look on EACH page!
and besides, each person usage is different
if u need more battery.. ebay and buy morewww.ebay.com
Turn your phone off.
Ultimate battery saver and does not require an app, root, or custom rom.
Use it without turning on the screen, it lasts for ages!!!
here is what I did:
1- Got the not-so-extended battery
2- running CM9 nightly rom with Francos nightly kernel
3- use juice defender on aggresive
4- use BetterbatteryStats and CPU Spy apps to find any "leaks"
5- carry an extra battery and a charger
I have come to conclude that a screen this big and beautiful eats battery like devs eating fast food 4 hours of screen time and 20-30 hours of "standby/little use" is all we could hope for. New battery technology is the next big thing in our lifetime.
The usual things:
- set screen brightness to minimum
- put phone into airplane mode of you don't need to make out take any phone calls
- disable data connection if not necessary or set it to 2g only.
- charge the phone everywhere you can (5 per cent charges won't harm the battery)
- disable all not necessary things like GPS, Bluetooth, wifi...

[Q] s3 battery drain!

Hi I currently have telus s3 running cyanogen mod 10.2.
Recently it seems that the battery seems to drain a percent per minute even if its on and doing nothing.
The battery health is good and I always have the screen brightness to auto.
Even if I under clock it to 384 the battery gets really hot fast and just drains.
I dont know what is causing this drain!
If this problem is non fixable can someone please suggest a extended battery that isn't too bulky but has a long life?
Thanks.

Well, the Grand 2 is the worst piece of equipment for a showcase!
The 0% bull**** is pure bull****.
Never let your battery fully discharge (0%). Li-Ion battery doesn't have memory effect. So it's better charge your phone when 20%. There many article about this. Just google and you find it.
Thanks helped a little :good::good::good::good::good::good::highfive::highfive:
thanks for the tips. Helps alot.
Nice tips bro !!!
Thank for share bro

I'm sorry but "the rule" is totally wrong
Galaxy Grand 2 uses Lithium battery
And it's a smart battery, smart batteries needs to be calibrated
Keep it between a know cycle, let's say between ~40% and 80%
Because if you fully charge it and discarge it will make the smart battery forget that it is "smart"
Hope I was helpful
My Samsung Galaxy Grand does not charge
I am surprised that my mobile phone's battery does not get charged even though it shows charging signal on the mobile screen. I am using original samsung chargers but to no avail. I am compelled to use universal charger to recharge the battery. Does any one have any solution for the problem?
Thanks
