[Q] how to bring back may phone to 2.3.6 - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

i flash infectedrom alpha but its camera is not working and some of sys app are gone. how to bring back my phone to 2.3.6

Find a stock rom, I saw a thread that had a lot and for the next time, you always got to backup your stock rom before changing your rom.
Edit: oh theres a new version that fixes the camera, try that one.

tnx
i flash thae new version, all are working fine but there is a misplace internet icon at the lower left corner of the dock, and it seems not deletable. its irritating

Where I can find that second version of infectedroom?

This is the V2

next time you flash you should always back up your stock rom just in case

[Q] Defy with froyo 2.2a please help

Hi frendz.
Today i got my defy which has froyo 2.2..
I am already loving it..
Unfortunately it has green lens.
My battery lasts for only 1 day on this stock rom..
For example say battery is fully charged and i start watching movies say 2 hr movie
i can continuously watch on 2 movies..brightness is set to 60%.
so i wanted install custom rom which has better battery backup.I went through the forums OMG!!! so many custom roms??..Which is better with least bugs please tell me..I have few questions please answer ..
1)How to install custom rom from scratch.
2)I want downgrade option to stock rom which i have now for warranty reasons.
3)Links for cm7 rom which is best with least bugs and best battery backup..Coz i see cynogenmod defy device database has no links in it.
4)Can i upgrade to gingerbread custom rom without flashing gingerbread official rom and can i again comeback to stock rom if something goes bad for warranty claiming??
5)Is miui rom best than cm7..And if so then which version..
Please help frendz...
Thanks for everyone..
1. You need to root your phone first before you can install a custom rom. Look for Superoneclick. Once you have done this you need to either install derfy2ndInit from the market or downloaqd RSDLite 4.9 to your computer.
2. To downgrade to stock rom you will need to use RSDLite with SBF JRDNEM_U3_3.42_117-002. This will return you defy back to 2.1 then use the motorola upgrader to 2.2. Your defy will be unrooted and back to stock.
3. Never tried CM7.
4. There is no Gingerbread stock rom. You can upgrade and come back again as in answer two.
5. I have always used MIUI and the latest version is 1.9.2. There is a built in updater and the rom is updated every Friday 11.00 BST. The choice of roms is always down to the individual depending on what you want from it, as I have only used MIUI I am not in a position to make judgement.
I hope this gives you pointer in the right direction but please have a good look through the forums as most if not all your questions will be answered.

[Q] Is "Fota Kill" app. android version or phone model related?

Is "Fota Kill" app. android version or phone model related?
I ask this because I found at least three diferent sizes...(1K, 23K, 29K)
And how to use it - if someone can do that for me, step by step, I am very grateful!
What I want is to keep the 4.0.4 rom - and the notification for OTA update is keep coming...
Thank you!
Check here
I really wonder why you wanna stay on 4.0.4 . In my humble opinion, ICS should be dead by now especially on GNex
Let us know if there is a specific feature in ICS that you don't wanna miss in JB so hopefully we can help you upgrading and finding that feature for you as well
I updated my phone from 4.0.4 to 4.1.1 (OTA) in the day I bought it and for two weeks I have sudden reboots, sleep of death and a lot of other problems. The store replace the phone and recomand me for this new one to keep the rom (4.0.4) as the best for this model. And for now I have more than 50 hours up time and not a single issue. So I realy want to keep this one. But the annoying ota update message popped up every two minutes. So how can I get rid of it?
I really can't be convinced with what the store told you because sooooo many users have upgraded to JB. Some are facing slower performance on 4.2.1 and they are sticking to 4.1.2 but not for ICS at all. Moreover, if the store replaced the whole phone then maybe that device was defected, so it is not JB because JB is not slower or having troubles compared to ICS especially because of project butter in JB.
My recommendation for you is to give it another try with JB. Try 4.1.2 or 4.2.1 as I found both of them very fine honestly. You will easily find so many threads in this forum to help you make a clean installation instead of using OTA update if you want to change. Personally I never did an OTA update because I like wiping everything and starting fresh with every android version
Regarding how to use FOTA Kill, the answer is up there in the thread I mentioned in my previous post so just head there and read the posts then you will find another link to show you how to use the app. Good Luck

As you'll need an unlocked device + root for FOTAKill anyway, give the 4.1.2 another try. 4.2.x is kinda buggy ATM, but 4.1.2 really is a good stock ROM. So get a Google stock image and apply FOTAkill there, to avoid 4.2.
Thanks for the help! I wait to pass the holidays - in case of something will goes wrong - and I will try to do a clean installation. Until then, is there any method - application or something to get rid of the annoying OTA uppdate message?
Not without root.

Need help installing new kernel

Hello and thank you for taking your time in reading, I will start by letting you know my samsung captivate glide is already rooted, android version 4.0.4 and stock kernel 3.1.10-I927ICLJ3-CL970642, now I found this wonderful thread in the development forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892538
mostly im interested in having more available RAM, but it does have a lot of good perks, after reading thru all 32 pages I could not find instruction on how to flash a kernel so here are my questions.
1) how do i flash a new kernel on my phone ?
2) Do i need to flash a rom as well or can i keep the stock ICS with the new kernel ?
Download and install clockworkmod .. the rest will make sense after that

Oh I forgot to mention I already have clockwork mod
not sure if you can keep the stock rom with the kernel (bone stock.) I don't see why not ... I used Dman's UCLJ3 pre-rooted rom and flashed litekernel onto it so you should be able to.
in CWM, install zip from sdcard, browse to your download folder on your phone and install it.
MAKE SURE you do a full backup first so you can revert if something doesn't pan out.

ty yohan, i see that flashing a kernel is pretty much the same as flashing a rom, I like the stock rom, how stable is Dman's ?
There's crashing issues with his AOKP lockscreen version but it could be because I installed thegreatergoods litekernel. So if you're going to download the pre-rooted debloaded deodex. etc etc.. go with the one that doesn't have the lockscreen. the 14 toggles mod will work and can be configured by quickpanel settings in apps.
One thing that shouldn't be overlooked is ICE Pop, it has a themed dialer (big plus) ... Thegreatergoods literom will be good as well, but personally I dont like the cyan and yellow colors in the messaging app.
I flashed the kernel with success but after testing it for a week I decided to go back to stock, tho speeds were amazingly fast the device was alot more unstable and I couldent handle all the crashes and reebots

[Q] Flash EVO 4G back to stock ROM

Does anyone have a working link to a stock EVO 4G stock ROM that can then be used to update to the latest stock ROM+radios+whatever? I've been searching around here and the Internet in general, but I'm having trouble wading through the sea of dead links to stock ROMs and links to ROMs that have been hacked to remove radios and whatnot.
I've been using the last good Evervolv JB ROM and it's just too unstable, and my radios and stuff are probably out of date too, so I'd like to try going back to stock for a while.
Note regarding root: It would be nice to be able to keep root, but not if it means having to use stock ROMs that have been modified to the point where it will be a pain to update to the latest stock ROM+radios+whatever. I can always re-unroot myself if needed.
Thanks!

I'm looking for the exact same thing... I'd like to go back to the stock HTC Sense ROM, but I've lost my old backup copy (long story) and having trouble finding a suitable replacement. Did you happen to save a backup of your stock ROM before switching to the Evervolv ROM? If so, could you send me the Zip?
Or, if anyone out there on the forum could help, that would be great.
I was hoping to get some benefit to a more recent version of Android, but all the ROM's I've tried thus far seem to have one glitch after another. I'd prefer to go back to a stock, or some slightly upgraded version of the SENSE IU. Any suggestions appreciated.
I downloaded this ROM as it looked like a good "SENSE-esque" ROM, and looks like most everything is working on this version.

Thoughts?
I don't have a backup of my stock ROM as far as I know.
I really wanted something close to stock, so I think I ended up settling on [Rom]TN_Elousions3.2_OTA_5.07.651.6_Deoxed_Stock_Theme.zip which is a moderate mod of the last stock ROM.
I ended up going through the S-OFF process as well to make sure that I had the latest radios and such.
It's functional, but between the Sense changes and the fact that it's Gingerbread-based means that there are some things about the UI that just aren't as nice as Evervolv. The upshot is that the battery consumption is lower and the hardware features work or work better (4G, FFC, camcorder, FM radio, etc.).
I'm tempted to try one of the last official Cyanogen ROMs just to see if I like the UI better than Sense, but I'll probably just stick it out until I get a new phone.

[HELP!] Camera Problems with MildWild Jelly-Gingerbread

So recently I decided to get back to some of my older android devices, and why not try out the good o'l HTC Desire.
Now at one point I thought that installing a custom ROM was a good idea to get some of the newer apps or what not... and managed to screw up the camera somehow. Now the problem is, this was done around 3/4 years ago and the phone was left as it was.
Another issue it had with this ROM is the insane battery leakage. It lasts MAX 1 hour... Starts to heat up after a couple of minutes of usage.
I've tried several different things, including:
1. Camera Restarter application that many people recommend.
2. Wipe Dalvik/Cache, Factory Reset, Wipe Data... etc
3. Force closing the app, getting rid of the data/cache within the OS application settings...
The ROM I'm using is the old MildWild GingerBread v.2.3.7 JellyBean based version of the ROM.
Kernel version: [email protected]#1
Mod version: MildWild Jelly-Gingerbread
Build date: November 2013
Recovery: CVM Revolutionary 4.0.1.4
Phone model, obviously the HTC Desire Bravo, the original.
I'd love to try and fix this rom's issue... but what I'd like more than anything is, if someone could post a mirror to this custom ROM too:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204681
I'd like to give that a try too, as it has the HTC Sense feel to it. Miss the good ol' rainbow blur live wallpaper, square weather widget... (the closest to the original)
And if not that, someone that knows how to revert this thing back to the original stock ROM.
Already tried doing that, but couldn't flash any of the RRU zip files provided on the Android Development section.
The phone should be from the European Region, as it was bought from there. Specifically don't know the operator... so WWE.
If none other options are avalible... may someone recommend me a very good ROM that atleast looks like the old HTC Sense and has a fully working Camera, without any Battery leakage issues.
Thanks in advance.
