[Boot animation] StarGate Bootanimation

Hi!
I've made a StarGate Bootanimation for Galaxy S II. (for Android 2.3.5)
Thanks to crispixfr for the original version (for SGS1).
Actually i resized his version, replaced its sound (the original was too dull), and updated the script for SGS2 Android 2.3.5.
Install:
First of all you have to unrar the two parts. -i had to split the .ZIP with rar because xda forum allows only 8MB attachments.
After that:
a) Install With ClockWorkMod
OR:
b) Install with root explorer (extract the .zip and paste the bootanimation.zip in system/media and PowerOn.wav in system/etc)
I recommend to increase the system volume to maximum for real experience.
(Settings>Sound settings>Volume>System volume)
Previews:
great animation. Have it also in my SGS1. The problem wich i have, is that the sound of locking symbols is to fast.... But maybe our gs2 is to damn fast.
best regards
PS. also i have a power on and off from Transformes wich i love have them on every phone that i own (glad to share with you guys)

You mean that the sound doesn't match the picture?
Maybe your phone plays the video slower than mine.
no no..you got me wrong...IT MATCH..but it plays fast then i used to sgs1. in sgs1 is more like in the movie (but i think is about that in sgs1 it take longer to boot).
it's like 1.2.3.4.5.6.7 done but no issues about sync video/audio
Looks good will give this a go i was getting a bit bored of the Galaxy Nexus boot animation anyway
Thanks you for to have updating my boot animation !!! Crispix is the best !!! And you too now lol

As i have said in the first post: First of all you have to unrar the two parts.
So there is only ONE ZIP file, which you'll have after extracting the RAR files.
After that, you only have to flash the extracted ZIP file!

Sometimes is not working the regular method (trough CWM). You need to push the files manually.
Choose a file explorer wich can gain read writte rights on system folder (personaly i use root explorer).
Step 1. Unzip the zip file wich doesn't work trough CWM flash, and you will obtain several folders (system/media wich contain bootanimation.zip) and etc/ wich contain PowerOn.wav. Copy this files in a folder inside your internal sdcard or external sdcard. Mainly you are interested on bootanimation.zip and PowerOn.wav
Step2. With file explorer mount with R/W the system folder and copy the bootanimation.zip from your folder to your /system/media folder. If you allready have a bootanimation.zip there, it will be overwritted.
Step 3. With file explorer mount R/W the etc folder, and copy from your folder PowerOn.wav to your etc folder.
Step 4. Reboot. Enjoy.
I think the same steps are also for the other kernels wich use the sanim.zip.
I don't remember in what folder is stored, but it will be like, rename the extracted bootanimation.zip to sanim.zip, and copy the new file to the respective folder. The poweron.wav is going to the etc folder.
If you have a copy error please check if you have read/writte rights on that folder. For default you have Read Only rights.
Hope that helps, and all credits go to the OP for this great animation.
best regards
This is a great animation.
Running on Checkrom Rev 3.1.1 with Green Monkey theme.
Thanks for the effort.
well done

[Q] need help please

hi everyone im new to the forum and wanted to say my god i love this forum ,all you guys help each other and im glad to be part of this forum .=) i have the htc evo 4g and its rooted .i just flashed miui rom and love it ,however,i wanted to know how i can load the call of duty bootanimation to this rom if possible .and i have 3 roms backed up that are all 3 the same how can i delete 2 of them thanks
1. Download the animation, re-name it to bootanimation
2. Place it on the root of your sd card, using a root file explorer [es file explorer, root explorer, ect] move it to /system/media and overwrite the existing one
3. Use a file manager to explore your sd card. You'll see a folder called clockwork if on cwm recovery, or nandroid if on amon ra. Open then folder and you'll see all your backups. Simply delete the ones you don't want
i have the miui rom .i have done this before and still wont work .can i delete everything i see with bootanimation? and just download a link with bootanimation and put it on my sd card ? and i figured out how to delete the back ups i did not want anymore thanks a bunch .i am using nandroid back up

Check for the /data/local folder for the bootanimation.zip [ I haven't used MIUI, but its either in /system/media or /data/local]
i went to date /local/using root explorer and get 3 folders one folder says parent folder second folder says download third folder says tmp now i go to systems and i see a folder called bootanimation.zip is that the folder im doing it as i type to you
You're in /system/media? What is the path exactly?
root eplorere its mounted as r/o i go to system and i see bootanimation .zip and i scroll down to media and if i open media i see audio bootanimation than bootanimation.zip than cod-bootanimation-aosp which is the bootanimation i want on my evo than gadget than lockscreen and so on

You need to delete the original bootanimation.zip, then rename cod-bootanimation-aosp to bootanimation [should still be .zip], reboot, and you should be good.
the cod bootanimation-aosp does not say zip next to it .does that mean its not zipped ? how do i know the bootanimation.zip is the original one ?
looking at the bootanimation folders i have about 3 folders with the name bootanimation if i long press the folder it saids i can zip the folder

Also make sure you're mounted as r/w. Long press it and hit rename, it should still be .zip, just doesn't show on the preview. Then do what I said previously.
i just switched it to r/w and i can only find the bootanimation file under s/d card and when i open the folder this is what it shows five files 1 file is parent folder 2 folder DS-STORE THIRD FILE ANDROID FOURTH FILE BOOTANIMATION.ZIP FIFTH FILE DESC.TXT WHEN I CLICK ON FOURTH FILE WHICH IS BOOTANIMATION.ZIP I GET THIS PARENT FOLDER TWO DS-STORE FOLDERS THAT HAVE A LITTLE YELLOW STAR ON THEM .NEXT FOLDER META-NF AND SYSTEM HOW CAN I START THE PROCESS FROM SCRATCH
I was following some guy called zeromax on youtube .i did what he said to do and still not worked
Well you saw all those folders because you opened the bootanimation.zip zip, which you don't need to.
1. from the sd card, copy the renamed cod bootanimation, that has been renamed to bootanimation.zip
2. go to /system/media, delete the bootanimation.zip in there
3. paste your bootanimation.zip in its place, done.

My post 2 above is the 'restart' from the beginning.
On MIUI you apply boot animations through the Theme Manager. You can either pm me a link to the animation and I'll make you a mtz to apply through theme manager, or you can follow the normal directions. If you do it the same way you would do it on any other rom, you have to go into theme manager afterwards and reapply the default animation. You would do so by going to customize at the bottom of the main screen, then choose boot animation and select the default one. You may need to choose another before you're given the option to apply the default. If you don't have one then youcan download one from the theme manager.
MIUI is different from other roms in many ways, but theming is much easier as well. If you ever need help getting certain things working on MIUI, feel free to pm me. I've been running it for over six months and know it better than I know stock Android or Sense.
Edit: You can also place the boot animation in /data/system/theme/boots, name it bootanimation.zip, set permissions to rw-r--r--, and reboot. Applying through theme manager is easiest if you're not familiar with modifying system files. As I already mentioned, I'd be happy to make an mtz for you.

You can add the boot sound through the Theme Manager. If you have the mp3, open theme manager. Select customize at the bottom, select boot sound, then choose the music app to find the sound.
I replied to your pm, do you still need me to make the theme? It's best to have the theme on hand. It'll take less than 15 minutes for me to make it, so if you want it just respond to my pm. I get notification that way, I might forget to check the thread.

[MOD] No Increasing Ringtone + HOW to ! - At&t S3

Hey guys !
I made a quick NoIncRing MOD, I figured while i was at it i would explain how to create the MOD.
I would like to Thank criskelo for his ZIP :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700174
I don't own an S3 but i did have the mod checked by an owner (works), i don't know what rom's it will work on so make a backup (as i said in the instructions).
How to Flash :
1. make sure you phone has a CWM recovery
2. backup SecPhone.apk and Secphone.odex (for odex rom's)
3. download the zip and place it in your internal SD
4. flash using, install zip from sd - choose zip from sd card
Download :
http://www.mediafire.com/?l8hox702d2t3m9y - Fixed
*the fix replaces SecPhone.apk with SecPhone_ATT.apk and erases the correct odex file.
I'll be happy to make Mod's for Any ROM you want. Simply attach the SecPhone.apk application from System/app
HOW TO ?
1. extract Secphone.apk from your phone/rom - system/app
2. download baksmali.jar and smali.jar from : http://code.google.com/p/smali/
3. extract classes.dex from SecPhone.apk
4. Put the classes.dex in to a folder alon with smali.jar and backsmali.jar then open a COMMAND window and navigate to the folder.
5. enter the following command :
java -Xmx512m -jar baksmali.jar -a 15 classes.dex
Click to collapse
6. You will now have an OUT folder, inside find : Ringer$1.smali
7. Look for 2 lines containing :
setstreamvolume
Click to collapse
8. Erase them (one is at the middle and one at the end)
9. now go back to your folder with classes.dex, OUT folder and smali.jar and erase classes.dex (VERY IMPORTANT !!)
10. In the command window enter :
java -Xmx512m -jar smali.jar out -a 15 -o classes.dex
Click to collapse
11. Now you will have a new classes.dex , drag it back in to your SecPhone.apk and in to my ZIP.
12. Flash and enjoy
Finally able to get rid of the increasing ringtone. Great mod!
3. extract classes.dex from SecPhone.apk
I don't see "classes.dex" when extracting SecPhone.apk. Something i'm missing?
I also attached my apk in case you can help me shortcut this a bit
Thanks
Or...do I just flash the zip via CWM and the rest of the instructions are just how to create the mod?

There is a little difference in ATT, I think this should be mentioned in OP. In AT&T ROM, phone application
is in /system/app, but the name is a little different: SecPhone_ATT.apk.
So both files SecPhone_ATT.apk and SecPhone_ATT.odex should be backed up before replacing from the zip file.
After zip file is written from CWM, just go in /system/app, mount it in RW mode, using Root explorer, and do the following:
rename SecPhone_ATT.apk to SecPhone_ATT.save
rename SecPhone_ATT.odex to SecPhone_ATT.odex.save
rename new file (created by the zip you just wrote) SecPhone.apk to SecPhone_ATT.apk
Reboot
I just did - it works, thanks for non-increasing ringtone that was driving me crazy. I want my neighbours in the office to start enjoying my mostly annoying ringtone immediately when somebody calls me

Not sure if it's a weird coincidence or what, but I did exactly this ^ and upon reboot, AudioGuru stopped allowing me to change my audio profiles (Normal, Work, Sleep, etc.) As soon as I restored the original SecPhone_ATT.apk and .odex then rebooted, AudioGuru started working again.
You guys are right !
I didn't know its SecPhone_ATT.apk

Mod for U.S. Cellular SecPhone.apk
Hey yoelsd,
Thank you for offering this! Can you please mod my SecPhone.apk? This is for the S3 stock rom on U.S. Cellular. Many thanks!!!
since mines is a Bell S3 and OP is MIA i just extracted SecPhone_ATT.apk from OP zip file and renamed to SecPhone.apk then used root explorer deleted SecPhone.odex and overwrite and restarted and its working perfectly.
I have hated the increase ringing since the SGS (i9000), Sammy should make that an option.
Hope this helps all my non AT&T S3 buddies.
edit, nm, got my versions mixed up

How to flash a bootanimation with cmw

Hi, i am not a developer but i have discovered a litte trick i would like to share with everybody. If you want to change your bootanimation ( with a new one you have created or found on the internet) there are several ways to do it but i have found very easy to flash it with cmw. The procedure is this. Download an already flashable zip file like the one posted in thread cm10 bootanimation i8150 by wong.izzat. Open the file (first screenshot) and click the folder "system" then the folder "media" (second screen shot) and you will find the file bootanimation.zip (third screenshot). Select it and remove it. Now take your new bootanimation file and move it in the folder where the previous one was . Close the file and rename this flashable file any way you like it i.e. newbootanimation. At this point you have a flashable zip file that you can flash with cwm as usual: copy to the external sd card , go into recovery, select flash zip and then select zip from external sd and find your file and flash it. Reboot and you will see the new bootanimation. The procedure is 100 % safe and the only important detail is that the name of the new boot animation must be bootanimation.zip.
Hope is useful
P.S. it is evident that in order to do this you must have a rooted phone and clockworkmod recovery installed
P.P.S. if you want to create your personal bootanimation use the boot animation factory program (sorry I cannot post link but you can easily find it on the internet. it is a free program )

Stock boot animations QMG files anyone?

Dear All,
I just bought a 32gb i9300 originally on swisscom (no restrictions) . The most annoying thing is the boot and shutdown animations and sounds. I tried available options on my phone but most of them are bootanimation.zip file where my phone being stock uses qmg files. installed one available from one of the threads but now the startup is messed (see attachements).
the one was downloaded from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984035
Is there any brother out there who can provide me with 100% original boot qmg files? i.e.bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg with original boot and shutdown sounds since the ones installed are of an annoying lady singing lalalala???
I will be grateful...
Thanks
Boot qmg only .
http://www.multiupload.nl/QLR0F0UMYG
Try Perkas file stash for the others or extract from a stock rom .
Boot zip only work with modified rom or kernel .

Bundle of thanks brother....:victory:
stock boot animation and manual debloat
I don't remember where I got my qmg files but I attached them to this post.they work. there are only two files bootsamsungloop.qmg and bootsamsung.qmg.. I followed the instructions given but they failed to instruct me to open the files with a script executor. these are the steps that worked for me.
1. copy files to sdcard. I used internal or phone.
2. using a file explorer , I used root explorer mount system/media r/w then delete bootsamsung.qmg ,. bootsamsungloop.qmg and also delete the file in the video folder called shutdown.qmg.
3 go back to sdcard and copy the two files bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg paste both files to directory system/media.
4. change permissions to rw-r--r-- for both files, change ownership to 0-root for both files also I changed the group to1023
-media-rw you might also be able to change group to 0-root not sure if that would work though.
5.finally I opened each file with Linux script handler and executed both,
6, reboot and watched the stock animation boot . I don't remember there being any shutdown animation on the unbranded rom.
I couldn't flash this through odin and I don't use custom recoveries or kernels . It took me about two days to figure out how to get back to stock animation..
also I found this link very useful to manually debloat my GT-I9300, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqTvctlW89DtdC1qVUlLeVFTV3ZOdUtDclpBdVRQOUE&pli=1#gid=0 . have fun! EDIT UNABLE TO UPLOAD QMG FILES. first try it said server busy second try it said invalid files. maybe because qmg is not listed under valid file extensions. sorry for that.
