Why don't you buy a rezound? They have sense ICS
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

I have a rezound, I like the design of the nexus better

Agreed with everyone here. Go pay a developer to build you a Sense rom.

Sense? Are you living in 1990s? It's 2012 now! The world will end soon, so don't bother the Sense!!

STOCK is the best Android interface. Period.

Sense is great but I wouldn't trade AOSP ICS for anything else, it's just that damn good.
Having said that, it wouldn't hurt if we nexus owners had the option. i'd support sense a port.
much better than the proposed touchwhiz port over in the other thread!

Put aside the fact that many people dislike Sense. It would be time consuming to re-build a framework and an interface from another device, for a phone with the unique selling point of a 'pure android experience'.
If you wanted Sense, then you should have bought a phone from a different manufacturer.
"I bought this dog, but I want it to look like a cat. I know, I'll get someone to paint it to look like a cat"
But I'm sure if a developer is passionate enough, or paid enough, they'd make one.

In the years since Android & Sense has been out, has there been even one single successful port of Sense to a non-HTC device? I honestly can't recall off the top of my head. I can see why SOME people like Sense, but it defeats the entire purpose of the Nexus line.

The nexus one has sense.

I see most devices have Sense, touchwiz, motoblur and AOSP ROM's on their devices.
All we have is AOSP, all the same features in each ROM. Oh yeah and MIUI... bleh

It doesn't run Sense out of the box, it's a Nexus. It's AOSP. I didn't say it wasn't an HTC phone, all I said was it has sense since it is AOSP-based.

Those devices have Sense/touchwiz/motoblur because the phones come with those pre-installed. There are prebuilt roms with bases of those that are from the manufacturers. It is easier to build from source than it is to compile the proprietary files for a custom skin.

It's not possible. I thought the reason people on XDA bought the Nexus was for AOSP.

agree!bought nexus for the absence of proprietary-eat-ram-UI.hate all the stuff involved on the classic ui out there, likes touchwiz, sense, motoblur etc etc.
i don't know why lost hours and hours of development to try to port a thing(proprietary UI)that is the major reason why many users choose to buy a ggogle experience phone.i don't want to be rude, tastes are tastes, but i personally dislike all the uis out there.
anyway,if you desire that,i'm glad to will see that someone will have it workin!

I used HTC phones for over 2 years (before GNEX), and i can say im sick of sense/touchwiz and rest manufacturer ui..
I bought this phone so i can make my own ui.
But if OP likes sense, its his taste/needs.. Good luck in finding sense on gnex mate

Why do I eat an ice cream sundae and drink a slurpee outside in minus 25 degree weather, while it's snowing, in the middle of winter? Because I can.
Okay so first we get 50,000 battery threads, then 20,000 Galaxy Nexus is slower than a flying bumblebee, and now we're on track for 1,000 Sense port threads. Why can't you people just join in someone else's topics?

the question is:
WHY?
Why is this in the Galaxy Nexus section? Should be moved to the Nexus S general section. In any case, seems like a stride in the backward direction.
lol
why htc
I agree that this shouldn't be in galaxy nexus general. But if we got a GB sense port, we would all flash it by curiosity.

Unfortunately I believe he meant to post it here, in hopes of more excitement. Since the nexus s folks are probably well aware of this. I'm going to let this remain for now, since there is a chance that someone may share his sentiments (albeit very very slim chance).
I'm not sure however why you would want sense on a nexus.

Sense Port?

Hey I did some searches and couldn't turn up any solid answers to my questions but is it possible and likely we would get a port of the sense rom to galaxy nexus or is there a reason i don't see a stable version in CDMA Development?
Its possible but unlikely. Most people buy nexus devices to get away from skins.

If it is ported it's likely to be broken.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2
I don't really see the point of porting Sense to a Nexus device. I mean, since it wasn't originally to this device, it will be buggy and probably never run smoothly. Sense is very beautiful, in my opinion, but it's bloated beyond usage.
On a completely unrelated note, my favorite two ROMs for the Galaxy Nexus are AOKP for its customizability, and CM9 for being, well, CM9.
True that, thanks for all your imput! I guess also since sense is HTC it would also work easier if it wasn't a samsung...I just thought it would be interesting if you could have the launcher and widgets minus the bloatware apps.

I like simplicity at its best.
I can recommend buying Beautiful Widgets!
For those saying a sense port would never work on a nexus or would run buggy check out the nexus s 4g dev section.
I just switched to a gnex but I believe if they did it on the ns4g it would never be impossible to do it here

What would be harder to do?

I was wondering what would be harder to port...............Touchwiz, Sense, or Aplications Platform(Motorola)?
I'm no expert on this topic but sense would most likely be the hardest to port. As for easiest I have no idea

I'd say the Motorola I went to a Verizon store and played with the RAZR m. Widgets are nice and overall u.I. was smooth. Was ICS BTW... sense would be amazing and maybe stutter proof ( we do have a beast of a phone)

NO offense but IMO, Holo is the prettiest launcher so far. Nothing can replace Holo on a GNex.
But looking at the progresses, sense seems to be the most easiest (or most worked on) so far cuz months ago i saw TW ports and Sense ports but nowadays i only see Sense ports.

[IDEA / QUESTION] Sense Port?

Okay so I had a Dinc2 before this and my dad just got the DNA... I really miss Sense haha
To get to the point: I am nowhere near a developer but I think I could port Sense to the Gnex if I had some help. If anyone is interested in trying to do this let me know!
I will probably try to get Sense from either the DNA or the X, the X has the same screen resolution so it may be easier... either way lets see what happens! I've already tried twice and it failed. Like i said... I'm no dev
I have the vzw Gnex so i'd start with a toro build and go from there if we can get it working properly!
You have way more important things to worry about than screen resolution...
People with more experience have tried and failed. Don't waste your time, but try if you really dare. Like the other guy said, the screen resolution isn't the only problem. It's probably the least most important issue.

sense is far deeper than 'a skin'. its in the kernel, the modules, the drivers, everything....its a bloated version of android that needs to die.

A sense port would be fun to play around with, but it was attempted about a year ago, and ended up being abandoned. There is do much that is closed source in sense that it would be an uphill battle to get it working. It would basically take an htc sense developer to make this work... So who knows someone on the htc dev team?
