A server error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen. - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I go to my apps in my market it says:
A server error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen.
All of a sudden my market stopped working. I tried clearing market data. But it still says the same. I altered nothing, I also tried restoring a backup where it was working, and it still says the same. Has this happened to anybody before? How do I fix this?

Are you roaming? Check to see if you can get on the internet.
---------- Post added at 09:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:41 AM ----------
If you are on wifi, turn it off and try it when the 3G comes up.

Not roaming, and im on 3g. I uninstalled all apps and the message went away. So I'm assuming it was a app I updated. Now I gota figure out which one it was.

Narrowed it down to blackmart. I uninstalled the apk and market is back to normal.

[Q] Google apps force closing?

Anyone else having this problem since the last Google+ update? I even flashed back to a previous backup that I made before the latest Google+ update. Still have the same problem. Google+ works fine but gmail or gtalk force close. Just wondering if I'm the only one having the problem.
I meant google voice....not google+

Try wiping the data from the app.
Google voice updated and FCs on many devices. Since it is a system app it probably was not replaced when you restored if you did an advance restore or did not choose sytem apps. Delete and try to restore it. I restored my previous version from Titanium Backup.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Uninstall the app completely, then reinstall from the Market. Still, the GVoice app is still buggy as hell, it keeps freezing on playback and FC's 40% of the time if you select to choose every time whether to make a call using GV or not. I've always had nothing but problems with GVoice app in its every iteration, since my BB Tour days...

Correct me if I am wrong, but is GVoice really a system app? After ODINg to stock, had to load it from the Market every time.
Bad thing is...gmail is the app I want to use but can't.

Clear data in all the apps FCing and also in Google Services Framework.
And I thought Gvoice installed itself in the system directory. That is what I meant by system app.

Glad I can help. Almost any Google app that FCs also corrupts the data in Google Framework. Option to clear data there is no longer available in the GB leaks
Yeah..I used mybackup pro. No option using the GB leak.

No longer able to sync Google account

I had flashed Task's AOKP Jelly Bean rom (Followed all instructions in OP) onto my phone and now I'm no longer able to sync my Google account, nor access Google Play. I know I'm receiving data via 4G LTE, since I can access websites from the browser and whatnot. I tried wiping and re-flashing, but the problem wasn't fixed. I even flashed my nandroid backup, and I'm still no longer able to sync my google account. Facebook doesn't even load the newsfeed anymore either.
I did notice, however, that if I connect to wifi, it'll let me access Google Play, as well as load Facebook. On the other hand, LTE doesn't let me access anything Google related via apps.
Anyone know what's going on?
Re-add Google Accounts
Have you tried removing the account and then re-add it?
Same here. Exactly the same scenario. I cam not access anything Google related unless I'm on WiFi. Even after nandroid back to stock

Yup, I've tried doing that as well. After removing the account, I can't add it again since it doesn't want to connect...

Anyway, I just restored back to unrooted stock via odin. Thought going back to stock would help, but nope. Maybe it has something to do with my Google account...
odin back to stock, did not worked for me either... still unable to access anything google related

Easy update to 4.2.2

Force update to 4.2.2 by force stop clear data on google services framework under apps 7-10 times.
Works on WiFi only and 3g
Some people may experience problems with play store. I personally haven't. If you do it can usually be fixed by also clearing data in play store uninstalling updates to play store and rebooting .

I have problem with play store after update. Cant download after update. Somebody with same problem?
Update: I find solution for this problem, you must delete your google account. Run Play Store, Play store will give error messages sometimes, after that will give you choice to register new or existing account and voala all working now.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Probably because you cleared Google services data. That can have unexpected side effects.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
This is not the first time this "trick" is here.. every time there is update for our nexus 7 somebody posts this trick, people clear the services data, update "magically" appears, and moments after they realize that it screwed up the whole system.
Result? Yes, you do get the update, but have to restore the whole tablet.
OP, could you update your first post to include the warning that it will screw up your tablet?
Its also known that to fix the play store issue that results from doing this trick, you need to remove then re add your Google account.
which may mean re selecting your chosen sync settings and waiting for pics etc to re populate. That's only downside, so not a big deal. Def no need to full reset

How'd it work out for you? I typically do that and flash the update via recovery. If nothing in the system has been changed it'll update without issues.

On Modaco JR14 and SmoothROM 4.4, tried this tip and let update download, but when it boots into CWM recovery, install fails due to incomplete signature verification. Tried with verification toggled on and off

Tried everything from the moon to the sun.
Error 493 or 491, package is not valid, etc.
I've tried everything and then some. Removed googlw account, reboot, add google account. Cleared data and cache on playstore. Uninstalled updates. Cleared data on services framework. Rebooted, rebooted, and rebooted some more.
NOTHING is working. What in the hell is going on?????
P.s. even tried cache and dalvik clear tgrough recovery. Even flashed a new rom, factory reset, all that. When I say I tried everything from the m9on and sun, I mean it.

You haven't modified your DPI settings or are using a ROM which requires some sort of modded Play store are you? Or changed build.prop settings?

Nope. Same problem on Virgin Rom, Golden Eye Rom (where I noticed the problem), then Darth stalker ROM.
All have the same issue. Even factory resetted on all ROMs. Same issue.
Here's the kicker. I'll try something new that I haven't tried before, then 1 app that was giving me problems will actually download. Then to definitely make sure if it's been fixed, try downloading something like Rom toolbox, same error message.
This happened ever since Virgin Rom, and really started taking effect once I flashed Goldeneye ROM.
Not saying those ROMs are the root cause, but just giving you guys a more clear picture of when this started happening.
If anything, it happened ever since I re rooted my phone.
Remove your Google account and re add it. Also recommend clearing data for Google play services, play store, and Google services framework as mentioned above. Do all this at once then reboot. Should fix it. At least it did for me.

I had the same problem initially. I had to turn wifi on and download some stuff, then got the usual error 927 code. Shut off wifi and d'l'd on LTE, worked ,then error 927. Put phone in Airplance mode and off again. Downloaded more stuff, then.....error 927 - I hate that F'n error. Finally everything downloaded after switching/bobbing/weaving etc.
All good in da hood now.

People say stop the playstore process and clear data / restart etc. That works for a minute but then that error comes back again.
BTW - had same exact issue with the GS4. It's just one of those things.
All good in da hood now.
Haha I exchanged My note 3 because of this problem I thought it was the phone .
But Then Again I Was Also Having Problems With The Gallery App And The screen was flickering ..I took the back cover off to put my battery in and It was all dirty in there, so it was probably a good idea anyways ..

The market would never load it would just give me a white screen. I never got the error code mentioned in the post and I thought it might have been the phone so I updated the market apk to the latest version and I was able to access and download from the market without any issues on wifi and 4g. It's been fine ever since.
