[Q] Disable screen rotation for Alarm pop-up in lockscreen - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

When in the lockscreen, only portrait mode is available whether screen rotation is enabled or not. However, when the alarm goes off, the pop up rotates depending on the orientation if screen rotation is enabled. If you;re half asleep and pick up the phone at an akward angle, the screen rotates just as you tap on the screen. Half the time, it's no problem. The other half, though, I end up tapping dismiss instead of snooze. Is there a way of locking the pop up at a fixed orientation (landscape or portrait, doesn't really matter) without having to disable screen rotation?

[Q] Cm6 screen orientation settings

Is there a setting in cm6 that I can set the screen orientation upon wake up? Every time I wake my phone up the screen is turned horizontal even though I'm holding my phone vertical.

Auto Rotation annoying.

Ok I turned off auto rotation. its VERY annoying when I am lying in bed browsing and the stinking think keeps rotating the screen.
problem is now "I CAN'T" rotate when I need to.
core problem is pictures. it keeps rotating my pictures.
so its displaying pictures 90' off axis. the only pictures it does not rotate are ones I shoot in portrait. those the picture axis remains inline with the screen axis.
but if I shoot a landscape picture (phone on its side) it DISPLAYS it rotated in PORTRAIT orientation (ie using 1/3 the screen) instead of LEAVING IT the same axis as the screen not the phone.
since I don't have auto rotation turned on .... I can't "rotate" the picture by tilting the phone again.
is there a way to STOP the camera auto rotating or adding rotation info to exif ie anyway to force ALL pics to rotate to the same axis as the screen (long side to long side)
OR is there a way for me to FINE TUNE auto rotation so its not so stinking sensitive? IE make it so I have to tilt A LOT FURTHER before it "rotates" and then I could turn auto rotation back on ???
Install smart rotator
Turn on rotation
Go into the app and turn everything to auto rotate
Than turn off everything you don't want to rotate
This order works best...if you did the opposite you will have some issues with the camera at least thats what I found.
NOTE: This will not fix the home screen issue.
Installed the app so far working very well. thank you for the suggestion. I wish I could justchange the angle that triggers the shift.

[Q] rotation lock and lock screen @ CM11

I'm still not allowed to post at the CM11 thread so I'm creating a new thread ...
I use my note 8 in landscape mode normally. I disabled the screen rotation in landsacape mode.
When the device gets locked and I turn it on the following happens:
the lock screen appears in landscape mode
(I start typing my PIN)
the lockscreen rotates to portrait mode automatically after one or two seconds (because this seems to be the default orientation for that tablet now)
(I turn my tablet and enter my PIN again)
the tablet gets unlocked and the screen rotates back to landscape mode since I locked the auto rotation in landscape mode
My question: how can I change the default rotation to the landscape mode again (like it was in the first nightlies of sbrissen, before they came official)
Or can I set the lockscreen to follow my screen orientation lock?
I know, I could enable the auto rotation to have my lockscreen in landscape mode, but I need the rotation lock when reading at bed

There are rotation fix commits in latest nightlies, did they resolve your issue?

(Q) Anyone having issue with the screen rotation?

I have a s8+ from Verizon and whenever I enable screen rotation, it doesn't rotate, and if it does it takes a long time to change orientation, and it gets stuck in that orientation until I turn screen rotation off. And this is with all apps, it's not that bad on YouTube but all other apps it struggles. Has anyone had this problem?
I have the same issue and all I can suggest is a temporary fix. Install xposed and get forced screen rotation mod. I also added the menu button to my navbar through GravityBox and assigned screen rotation to the long press, for quick access
I did and I fixed it. In the quick settings panel click the icon that says Portrait.
EDIT:
I misread the original post. My solution may not apply to your problem. Mine was not rotating and I couldn't find the setting anywhere! I was looking for the screen rotation icon - not a "portrait" icon.

Question Chrome is stuck in landscape

I'm not sure what I did, but now Chrome is stuck in landscape whether it's on the front or inside screen. All other apps and the home screen rotate, but when I open Chrome, the app changes to landscape and refuses to switch to portrait. It will flip 180° and if I'm holding in portrait, the second I close Chrome, the home screen auto rotates to portrait.
I have played with the auto-rotate features and was looking around in the labs but still can't figure out why only Chrome is locked in landscape. I do remember setting Chrome to allow folded view, and have tried to disable any related settings.
Any help would be appreciated.
So I guess this was a bug and not a settings issue. I accidentally did a vertical split screen with another app while holding the phone in portrait and everything went back to normal.
