[Q] miui rom questions - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

got a few questions about miui roms , at the moment i'm using miui us .
is it possible to use data2sd eg expand the internal memory ? (do any of the english miui roms support data 2 sd ? ) does data 2 sd cause any instability in miui roms or loss of data etc ? and is there flashable zip thing which does data 2 sd configrations etc thing for me , like what droidzone provides with his gingerburst rom (can i use the same zip for this rom ?)
just want a noob proof way to add the extra internal memory etc
thanks

Check the thread for MIUI XJ. There exits a DATA2SD-Version (named: X-Part) which seems to be the of the thre versions (according to user reactions). As long as you have an SD card with at least Class 6, you should not have any problems with DATA2SD.
What you need to do to get this version working, will be posted in the thread.

Search in market "S2E" and your done!

Thanks again

Base is 1.33.401.2, ROM is deodexed that is why size is small as compared to hdpi devices..

The ROM is based on European version so it should include Spanish as well. About the screenshots, since it is a stock 2.3.3 with Sense 2.1 so that's why didn't include any
It works but have just 60Mo free RAM.
So, I'll not use it.

There will be optimized versions of this ROM. Again since i dont have a Marvel myself so feedback from you guys will make me improve the ROM...
How much internal storage do u have now? after flashing the ROM? is ap2sd script working fine for you?
If interested you can be my tester for future releases
Edit: Actually i want to make this ROM for you guys & it will give u enough FREE RAM with good speed as well.. check this Ginger S

You have to do as jikantaru says here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17617165&postcount=1
in order to get freed up space...and you'll get a lot!!
I just tried it quickly this morning. When I saw the "only" 60Mo of free RAM, I didn't search how to improve it. So I didn't use Jikantaru tip.
Because jikantaruROM (euro version) gives me 120Mo of free RAM (and working well), it was obvious that I'm going on to use it.
To fshami : If you want testing, I'm your man !
you get low internal memory cause rom is deodexed. thats the reason why I didnt deodex my roms. You'll only get 62mb available storage in internal memory. Unless there is a compatible data2sd in wildfire s that would be great. Ext memory card partition used as internal storage. like 512mb or 1gb.

AP2SD Support is included in the ROM. Did u try flashing it with the required partitioning?
I know apps2sd support, like link2sd, so no fun in there.

I know that you know that what is ap2sd. Just wanted to check if u tried my version to check that the script is working fine..
nope, cause I have a lot of apps and nand backup takes to long. And I have fully customized my wildfire s, so I'm not testing this yet until I get some problems with my current one.
I tried again your ROM with Jikantaru's tip.
I've got 136Mo of free RAM. Amazing !
I'll beta test it. I don't use the Marvel as my daily phone so I can try new ROMS and really put it through it's paces. I'm installing it now.
Any tips so far? I'm tearing out a few HTC apps already, so it's not unadulterated.
did we get link2SD or data2SD going?

Thanks for ur interest. You can give this version a try to check performance especially ap2sd part that how it goes..
As for RAM concern i've few things to play it with as well but first want to know that how the base version goes..

Are you talking about system flash memory or system RAM? There is plenty of RAM to run whatever we have going. It's system flash memory that is in short supply. I think we need to figure out what HTC junk can be jettisoned without harming the rest of the system. That would save some. Plus we really just need to move cache and Contacts and Gmail to the SD for there to be plenty of space.
---------- Post added at 08:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:03 PM ----------
There doesn't seem to be a Contacts app. Did I destroy this in my crazed HTC removal phase of installation or is it really missing?
I'm still trying to figure out what the best method of moving data to the SD is. I don't want everything on it, but definitely most Apps and even cache would be good.

lolz contact app is there in the rom, may be u deleted it while cleaning the ROM.
I included ap2sd script in rom, will also try to check others like data2sd or link2sd.. How is ur experience so far with the ROM?
It's pretty good to work with. I'm going to go back to test it just the way you meant for it to be and then see if I can get it running well like that before I tear out the HTC components.
I'm jumping between your ROM and the CM7 build by alquez which shows great promise and hopefully eventually what we get to run on this. A CM build for this phone would make it competitive with many much more expensive ones.
I'm reflashing now and will update again when I'm back up!
You said that you already have the a2sd script in your ROM, so which A2SD app do we need to run? I didn't see one already installed, but it might be running the stock A2SD app too right?
I'm going to add a link2SD app or data2SD app any suggestions?
_________
okay, the compass and gyroscope isn't working. orientation sensor and compass are not registering data it appears. That's going to screw up a lot since it means no map orientation and it also means no screen rotation to landscape for youtube, etc.
added Jikantaru's method for cache2SD and now have 123mb of free system memory. I'll see what it acts like but that should be enough for running some required apps from the system mem and for syncing gmail and contacts.
I'm actually going to put my sim in this phone now and use it!
also Swype keyboard on this is swell. really works great. Still huge problems with flash memory though and I'm constantly trying to move what I can to the SD card. It really needs a lin2SD or another solution.
_______
just tested pretty thoroughly using Sensor List and the Orientation Sensor, Axex Accelerometer, Magnetic field sensor, Gravity sensor, Linear Acceleration Sensor, and Rotation Sensor are all not registering. I also checked them in Elixir and they report nothing. Any idea's about what's going wrong? I wouldn't think that these would be affected by the ROM. Maybe it's the cache to SD or something additional.

Roms List

Any Roms that combat the reknowned small internal storage like that let you install apps direct to sd card without any data on the internal memory
You surely don't need THAT much storage unless you're downloading the entire android market. I'm sure oxygen would suffice, if you use the SPL (hboot) that comes with it that is, you'll have 332mb of internal storage.
I use the Data++ table and GingerWally 1.5. I get 210 MB free for apps and the stock GB ROM from HTC (stable, no Data2SD etc.) + various small enhancements. Right now i have some 50 apps installed (12 of which are games like NFS - Shift) and i still have 92 MB left on the Data partition. Oxygen with its 332 MB free should be more than enough for any well-organized user.
Answer to your question is yes, Roms with data2sd, data2whatever, and data2ext all use various scripts to install apps on ext partition of sdcard, leaving nand for other tasks.
Swyped on my Htc Desire running on Supernova Extreme - Gingerbread goodness with 2 GB of Internal memory
I can only barely have 4 games installed n thts with to sd so ye n tried oxygen it very nearly ruined my phone. Does cyanogen have something like wat u said? Htc sense would be good to

Oxygen is a really good rom - it should be rock solid.
Pretty much every Rom here has some sort of system to create extra space - either by transferring portions of the app to the sd card, or by shrinking the size of the Rom so creating more space on internal. For the second method, you need to change the hboot to take advantage of the smaller Rom.
Have a look at the threads, there are a few discussing 'what Rom are you using' and also the index on the development section.

it looks like the original..but has a optimized-for-speed data to ext
I run the runny AIO 5.0.3 nu sebastiaan15. If you are s -off and have a 1gb ext4 partition on your sd choose the AD2SDX. I have around 700 MB left for my apps

[Q] Need informations about Jellybam ROM plz

Hello everybody !
First of all, i'm french so sorry for mistakes!
I've intalled Jellybam ROM recently and i would like to have some informations.
- Is it possible to have multiwindow and s-voice in AOSP ROM ? What shall i do ?
- How to "clean" my phone ? (Delete every folders in order to start as a first boot). Must I flash an official rom on ODIN and root again the rom after ?
Thank you for all of your advices !! =)
Hi
No MW and no S-Voice on this kind of ROM. The framework isn't the same. We have to wait PA Halo release to try this kind of feature.
You can use this tool to format all your internal memory: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983489
Warning: your phone won't boot so you'll need to flash another custom rom (zip fil to be located in your external sd card).

So actualy any solution existing to have multiwindow, How long must we wait ?
Thx for all !
May be one of the reasons I dont flash aosp eoms coz they miss out on features like spen etc .

We loose some features but we obtain new features too.
The choice depends on our needs and wishes only.
Concerning HALO feature, some phones (like the Nexus 4) have this option right now but I think Halo is still under development for the moment.

[Q] Wich RUU or Radio for my Desire Z ???

Hi, sorry if duplicate
I have a Htc Desire Z (but dont know wich one really : eacause with different rom it changes the name as ; Vision T-Mobile Desire etc)
Acctually i am runnig on flinnycm101_vision_25_test4. But sometimes its lag and freez, so i heared about Radio (kind of driver for device on mobile) but i dont know wich one install !!! please help .
Otherthings please :
I am looking for a guid to learn how to create a partition ext3 or ext4 that allows to install all appz to SD - Card ; i changing the rom every 3 or 5 month but never got a fulid one and always my memory built-in got full after 1 month of use, so i hope to find a way to install all appz on other partition and have lot memory built-in on my phone !!! please help also .
I put 4 screenshot of my setting .
Thanks and sorry again if duplicate
Some body to help !!!!
Its rather doubtful that changing radios will help your lag problem but you can find links to info here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43195539
Also it doesn't matter the radio you choose in the sense that they are all compatible, most often one of the newest is best but it differs for everyone.
As for apps2ext, just copy contents of SD card to PC, then boot to recovery and format there, both clockwork and 4ext have the option to do so. But 4exts is a bit faster and easier.
Then you would need an app2ext script depending on ROM you're running it may be built in and toggleable in settings. Try maybe elitemod cm7 or ICS for an easy built in option or cyanmobileX
Otherwise you can get an app of the market to do it for you easily as well
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks to responding
But in this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809 wich one culd work for me (Belgium - Europe - Android 4.2) .
About Sd-card i ll answer later, beacause too hard to understand but i ll try (i am a littele dummy = sorry).
Thanks again
All will work as they are all compatible with the HTC vision, which one works best is hard to say so you need to try a few out to see what works.
The SD card repartitioning is easy, if you're confused I'm sure there are many YouTube videos out there, just search android partition SD recovery, it will be almost the same for all devices. As for adding apps2ext that might be a bit more confusing so I suggest a few ROMs that have it built in, just go to settings and choose apps to ext

Looking for a stable Rom for Xperia M dual , Which actually lets me use both Sims

Hi guys ,
I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this , so please forgive me if im doing anything wrong (im a noobie and this is my first post)
Im looking for a stable/bug free Rom with Move to sd option right there in the normal settings . Im really tired of using the official rom for so long .. unable to play any good games and even being limited to choosing either one or two of my fav games since low storage message always shows up . Im willing to try any rom you suggest as long as i'll be able to use both my sims. when i looked around i saw that some ppl say that lollipop doesn't support dual sim.. and even if i flashed it , i'll be limited to single sim . It might not seem that bad for most people but it does to me lol. So im also asking to clarify if i flash the patch file provided alongside the cm12 rom will i be able to use full function of my phone. My main goal is gaming so even if there aren't any bug free Roms there i hope you can suggest me a working way to install games and move em to my sd card.
Currently my phone is running on Android 4.3 , Stock 15.5.A.1.5 ( Rooted with towlroot)
So thats why im looking for a new rom , I hope you can indeed help me with my problem and Thanks for all your help in advance :fingers-crossed: !!
Look first of all there is no rom without bugs for the xperia m, but that doesn't meant there are no good roms for xperia m.There are some good roms with some major and minor bugs . You have to decide for what purpose you want to upgrade
If you are bored of your stock rom and looking for some better performance and new look then there are good number of roms available here like official cyanogenmod kitkat, lollipop, marshmallow and also some other third party roms .(Just go through Xperia M Android Development and Xperia M Original Android development )
And you are asking about rom with move to sd card , but i doubt there are not so efficient roms in that aspect but i recommend you to use apps2sd and create partitons in sdcard and use it , it is one of the best method . You can use it on any version of android you like (with some basic knowledge on partitioning , just watch some videos on youtube or search in internet..,)
If you are not intereseted to do experiment on your sd card use CM13 marshmallow , here we can set our sdcard as internal so that you can install big memory games , apps etc.., and also latest android version .There are quite a few bugs but that doesnt really matters for daily use if you are a dualsim user you will not get internet on 2nd sim . Just once go through the link and read everything carefully , and have any doubts post here there are lots of people here to answer you
You can use ArchiDroid v3.1.5 ROM. It lets you move apps from device to SD card. Also it has the less number of bugs as I see. Install recovery and Flash a single file to get started. No need to flash GAPPS, Dual-sim patch etc.. it's already in the package. Choose options wisely while installing it.

Yes you can move apps to sd card by using apps2sd and also in future you can come back to normal sdcard by again repartitioning it . Watch some videos about how to create partitions in sdcard and how to use apps2sd in MM
Dont simply partition and insert it in your phone you have tofollow some extra steps to get it done , refer xda forums also
