Download what ever kernel you want and flash in clockwork mod recovery. Just like you flash juggs Rom. Usually the developer leaves instructions on how to flash their rom/kernels just read the original post of the kernel you want to flash..

Make sure you wipe cache and dalvik before flashing.

As a habit, I will also fix permissions before and after flashing as well, just to be sure.

Oh, I get it now. Well, after reading that post it looks like this B2 ROM you're looking at will only flash over a CM6 nightly ROM. Specifically, Magnus stated this in the B2 ROM post:
"-built from the newest version of cm6=9.15nightly-"
and
"IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES BUT REALLY WANT TO TRY THIS OUT, USE THE FOOLPROOF METHOD LISTED BELOW:
-NANDROID-
-FLASH OVER A NIGHTLY-
OR
-WIPE-
-FLASH/RESTORE A NIGHTLY-
-FLASH ROM-
-ENJOY CM6 GOODNESS-"
--------------------------------
So, with that being said (and reading over the B2 post) here's what I would do if I were you:
I'm assuming you're already rooted and want to perform a fresh wipe of your phone:
- Use Titanium Backup or MyBackup to backup your data and apps
- Reboot into your recovery app (I prefer Amon RA, link can be found in my signature)
- Make a Nandroid backup
- Wipe data
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Flash a CM6.1 nightly ROM (link to CM6 nightly thread can be found in my signature, go there to find the download link for the nightlies, it's in the OP)
- Boot into CM6.1 nightly
- Once loaded into CM6.1 nightly, reboot into your recovery app
- Flash Magnus' B2 CM ROM
- Reboot
- Enjoy
That should just about do it. Once you get B2 running please redirect your support questions to the B2 thread as I'm not running that ROM nor do I have any intention to (this means I'm not the best help once you have operational problems, I'm trying to do you a favor not be a d--k)
Can u do me one more favor.. can u post me a link to cm6 nightly ,because I can't seem to find it
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The link you're looking for is in the nightly thread here. Look in the section entitled "Installation info" You'll find the link to the nightlies in there.

[Q] Kernel question.

I'm going to replace my T989's stock ROM with Jugg 5.0.
How do I go about replacing the stock Kernel with Mr. X's Synergy. Only reason I want that Kernel is to have the flashing capacitive buttons for notification purposes...
Do you recommend these two together? Is that possible (since the Kernel is based off Jugg)?
I know how to install the ROM...just not the Kernel.
Also, what is the purpose of replacing the "stock modem?"
Thank you!
my two cent
Edit::: yes you can have Synergy kernel and Juggernaut 's
Rushing said:
Juggernaut 5.0 install directions state that you shouldn't flash something over Jugg 5.0 unless it is states that you can but it doesn't say that you can flash anything over it so no. The rom is fine without a different kernel. Thanks to Team Kang for Juggernaut. You wont need to replace the modem just flash the rom you probably already have so dont fu*k it up here is what I read
"Wanna flash something over this rom? Does it say it will work with this rom? No? and you flashed it anyways??? *sigh* WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" Correect me if I'm wrong thanks

You can flash the synergy rom just fine with jugs 5.0. Im using that setup right now. Wipe cache and dalvik and then flash synergy then reboot.

CM10/Kernal question

Hi, and thanks to whoever takes the time to help out,
I would like to make the jump to PhantomPhreak53 CM10, and i am currently using a GB rooted ROM nothing special, and i'd like to know which kernel to download from Chris41g's list of kernels, he has so many and all have similar/different names, Please Help
Those kernels are only for cm9. Won't work with cm10. Just use the one that's packaged with the rom.

I was curious because he specifically said to make sure to have a safe kernel and then links to the page so i assumed he intended for Chris41g's kernel to be what he had in mind for flashing his ROM, so your basically saying, i'm good to go without installing a kernel for good measure ?
No off you want a safe kernel download el29 direct boot and install it via Odin and then use that to flash cm10.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
All GB Kernels are inherently safe so flash away. The new Kernel will be installed as part of the new Rom install

El29 direct boot was made specifically for flashing ics based roms. You can find it on the epic touch cm9 blog. Just do a Google search for it.

Welcome to rooting.. so if im getting your question right you want to go to a new ROM possibly.. and youre on AOSP..well since you are new I would suggest using a one click odin (your choice ) and start from there since you are on A JB build ...
-TeaM VeNuM Like A Boss
+1 for one click of your choice, make sure you pick a full wipe one though.
Tappin' Typin'
I would flash over the EL26 CWM kernel, first it just makes it easier for you, and is a very safe recovery to flash from.
Thank you guys, actually I just wanted to know what to do when I decide to explore others roms but for now I really like this one so Ima stay here a while I didnt knew rooting would be this cool but new roms and with apps like setcpu this is very nice, thanks again.

Oh I see well all is your choice on the path..one major thing I suggest is when moving from ROM to ROM back up your apps ..(non system apps)and make sure to wipe on a safe recoveries (Kuban kernel, agats, el26) problems can arise from dirty installs
I also suggest ROM toolbox from the play store its a great tool that basically does everything

[Q] Question about kernel

All devs please help, I have a question. This question is about the kernel. Can you change the kernel of a ROM without changing ROMs.
Thank you for your help.
Not a dev, but yes. Download your kernel of choice and flash in recovery after wiping dalvik and cache.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes. Just make sure you flash a Sense kernel on a Sense ROM, and a AOSP kernel on a AOSP ROM.

Yes you can and like Fin said, make sure to read the whole op before flashing the kernel, theres alot more to it than just flashing a kernel and even though it says its for AOKP or JB,make sure its made for your rom and alot of devs add different governors and voltage regulators to their kernels, make sure to look at that also,so you can get the best battery life, but at the same time you might want speed, theres alot of things to look for and concider before using a OC kernel, the main thing, follow close directions and if your not sure about something, ask first before bricking your phone.
