Maybe something for Roman's Rom Control. A "Tablet layout" toggle for example.

U mad bro? Seriously, get out of here with the negativity. I can use this when I connect via MHL to my TV, so it is indeed practical. If you don't have something constructive to say then why say anything at all?

Honestly, ICS on the touchpad was my first taste of ICS and I love it. Picked up my GN and I wish it behaved more like the tablet UI. Especially the notifications and power settings. It is so much more intuitive on the tablet. So yes, this would be awesome and I for one would be first in line to check it out.

This would be pretty amazing considering that Boot Manager now works with the Galaxy Nexus. Have one regular phone rom and one "tablet" rom.

Don't misunderstand me. I like the tablet layout as much as the other guy. I'm just saying that the idea of reproducing it on a device with less than one quarter screen surface seems rather silly, wouldn't you agree?

I wouldn't agree. But I respect your opinion.
Was that so hard?

What's good about the notifications?
Ps, this is the power settings on AOKP
It's awesome, and you can customize it to whatever toggle you want in whichever order
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

Immediate one touch access to pop up notifications. Not full screen pull down for notifications and toggles. I would love a notifications/toggles soft key instead of a top down pane. Its less convenient to pull down an entire pane and then pull it back up when I could just access it with one touch and return to my app by tapping out of the pane.

The toggles on AOKP are amazing tho

I would love to get the Tablet UI for when the device is connected to a TV/monitor using the MHL adapter. Right now the built in Bluetooth keyboard and mouse option makes this a viable option for travel and being able to use the tablet layout when using an HDMI connection would be awesome. While the mobile UI in landscape works fine on a big screen, there is definitely room for improvement.

[REQ] Silent/Vibrate/Normal Toggle for Lockscreen

I feel many of us here miss this toggle from previous phones and find it quite uncomfortable without. Anyone interested in taking this on? (Much thanks awaiting)

Well currently that's only option unfortunatly but the idea here is to implement that same function on the lockscreen using the ring that already has the camera and unlock icon.
You can toggle between silent and normal from the lock screen. When on lock screen, long press the power button and it'll pop up a menu which will allow you to do that. Not sure if you have seen that already. Otherwise, widget locker has some good reviews too.

Well that's pretty much been an option in every Android phone so far and I see that more as a hardcode workaround rather than a proper toggle since you can access that from pretty much anywhere. I have also used widget locker with the ICS layout and yes, the ringer toggle there is pretty much exactly what we need but I really don't like the idea of loading another app just to do that one small difference since the stock lockscreen will be running in the background taking up memory.
FYI, for anyone wondering. We're looking for something like this but as a standalone mod that could be flashed onto any 4.0.2 or 4.0.3 ROM:

Hello guys
I have just found an application from market, so called Droid inPocket (free). Works fine in regards to automatic vibration when in pocket or face down. Phone in second recognize how/where PDA is, then short 3 vibrates signalizes that activated. Once you take it out from pocket, or flip-over phone by short vibrate gets back to normal ring.
Check it out

I may be super late to this, but came across it yesterday, while inside an app, in landscape, holding down the home key brings all the running apps up in a way where you can cycle back in forth b/t running apps, and flick them up off the screen!
if im late, just disregard. loving ICS more and more everyday lol

I saw this in one of qbking's ROM installation videos but he moved so fast through it (because the video wasn't about task swiping) I was like "wait, what was that?!" lol I love this feature and of course his videos rock!
I've seen posts regarding it but I'd be hard pressed to point out where.
No need to be in landscape either. It does it all the time.
Its actually recent apps not just running. A 3.0 feature but as far as the swipe off the screen I do not know if thats new or not.
haha didnt realize you could swipe the app of the screen. f-in DOPE!
Yea this was introduced in honeycomb but swiping to end app is new to ics

Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
When you think of horizontal, think of the horizon (flat) or landscape. Vertical is standing (portrait), as in some of us (me) are vertically challenged (i.e. short).
My totally unnecessary post of the day.
I have personally found the ICS implementation to be overall slower than the GB task switching. Anand from anandtech agrees in a recent review. I suspect that it will be slower still as devices beef up the RAM, resulting in more open processes, and a lot more vertical scrolling.
I quite liked the webOS implementation of card stacking. This may find its way into post ICS versions of Android as a measure to mitigate this issue.

[TIP]- How to get custom notification toggles without root or flashing.

Hello peeps.. so I decided to share a nice trick that has been working amazingly well for me. If you want to add things like flash light.. mobile data...brightness control to your notification area head on over to the play store and get Notification Toggle. Let's you customize whichever toggles you'd like. Also let's you download and change the icons to each toggle.. really fresh and I have been rocking it for a while with no issues. For those who don't know about this app.. knock yourself out!!

Okay i noticed a small problem. You know for using notification toggle you need to enable it under accessibility settings. Some how this is partly turning on the talk back accessibility service. When you pinch to collapse home screens or apps in drawer, it starts talking. Anyone else having this problem?
Sent from my SGH-T999
Turn talk back off. its right above the notification toggle on/off switch. You might have turned it on accidently.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Talk back is turned off, that's the first thing i checked. The talk back happens only when pinching home screen and app drawer. If talk back is on it talks for every screen touch any where, which is not happening.
Sent from my SGH-T999
I have the same problem. Turn off toggle notification in the accessibility section. It will still work just won't stay on top in the ongoing notification section. But all other notifications won't. Not a big deal to me...talk back was really irritating.
Check out my screen shot.

I actually ran into the video last night as well and decided it a go. As mikeyinid said, it is simply a clever use of nova launcher, widget locker and some custom wallpapers. Armando gives a great walk-through on how to do this but the problem i ran into was the fact that this was built for a gnex, which has a nav bar. I realize we can enable ours as well (in AOSP ROMs) but I personally don't like the look of it. Without the nav bar, it causes the wallpapers and icons to become misaligned with the intended layout, so I decided to bail
Nevertheless, a very interesting setup. I recommend anyone who uses an AOSP ROM w/ a Nav Bar to give this theme a go. Be warned, there is quite a bit a setup time but should be well worth it in the end

Actually is easy since he gives all the backup files and you restore them with nova, I was going to keep it but the problem is the apps icons are too small, since you need to have 6 by 6 to run the on the launcher it doesn't work good for me, I use 6 by 4 on nova
