[Q] Status Bar Clock Color Change Wont Stick (Dewizzed 2.5) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'll keep this short if I can. I am making a theme for DeWizzed, and I am NEARLY done and ready to show it off, but I cannot for the life of me get the clock color to change. I have edited every XML I could think of in the SystemUI.apk AND the framework-res.apk. I thought in Gingerbread it was mearly changing/adding a line in the status_bar.xml inside the SystemUI.apk but that won't do it.
The clock is currently white, and I have managed to change EVERY color in the status bar text currently. I've looked in styles.xml, color.xml, etc. Nothing does it.
If anyone could help I'd GREATLY appreciate it. To give a tiny hint, everyone has been asking for an Orange theme This is 100% from scratch, and I am excited to share once I figure this out.
Thank you guys, been a long time member, and I am now finally posting, because no amount of searching has dug up an answer for me.

Way wrong place for this...
That said i advised building his framework/systemui over again, and changing the clock color before doing his center clock mods... If he has done that and its still not working let me know, and i will jump in and build it to assist...

I was just trying to grab the attention of someone like you and hoping you would just reply here
Thanks for the reply, but as far as what I've done so far that doesn't seem to work...
I've followed this tutorial to the "T" and it doesn't work for me.
http://sites.google.com/site/androidbyyorzua/home/tutorials/become-a-themer
I successfully changed the date color, notification text colors, just the clock color aludes me. Just wondering what I'm doing wrong?? I'm not trying to cernter the clock, just FYI, and I'm on the SGH-I727 with SkyICS by Sean. Even tried the UOT kitchen and it will not work either.
Help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Im in the same boat, i spent about four hours tonight doing it over and over and over, and it will just not stick. I dont understand what is going on.

I just found out to make it stick you must put the color string right after the style in the xml, if you put it before the style it won't work

Don't know of gingerbread, but in my froyo it was in /system/framework/services.jar file...so give it a try.

If the systemui is juggs based these its hard coded white to work with the tweaks app i believe.

You need a services.jar edit and then a png edit. Pretty easy.

That is for the background. Reading through the other links on that tread, I still can't find the line in any or the services.jar areas.

That is a really good site. Sadly, it doesn't change all the icons on the factory rom. Dang, I'm so close to being done with this theme, only a few things standing in my way.
I was just reading a tutorial on this. I think it was in the droid x forum.
Sent from your mom's phone.
Well I made the rest of the icons, now I'm back to needing to change the clock and date color in the bar.

[Q] Help me find a framework .png

I want to find the little semi transparent oval that surrounds an app name when it's place on a homescreen and get rid of it, but I can't find the png file. I assume it's in either framework-res.apk or com.htc.resourses.apk...can anybody tell me what it's called, or if I'm looking in the wrong place? and when I find it, can I just delete it or do I need to replace it with a transparent icon?
thanks
If you're talking about the bubble it's in Rosie, but it's in xml, not a PNG.

ah.. so when I find it, do I just set the value to 0 to make it go away?
whoa, never mind. looks like android xml is beyond me. I guess I'll just live with it. thanks for the help though
What rom are you on?

I'm on kings unleashed r3. I was using virus' kingdom port for the last 2 weeks and I really liked the look of the homescreen icons. I was hoping to learn something new and fix it myself, but I gave up right around the time I saw the words hex/decompile/recomplile-or-it-won't-work...

[Q] Changing Status Bar Icons

I was wondering if there is an easy way for me to see which of the icons under the SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi folder are actually used in my rom? I am going to modify the colors but notice that a bunch of those are not even used.
I noticed that I can do that with the UOT kitchen, but when I installed the new SystemUI.apk not all of the icons were changed to the color I put in. So, I figured I will just go in and do it manually. It will be a learning experience anyway.
I am just getting into customizing and it is pretty fun. As long as I don't screw it up too much.
Thanks,
Jeff
My suggestion would be to grab another theme for the rom you are running, from an established themer, and rip the drawable-hdpi folder out of that SystemUI.apk to see what they have themed. Also helps in pointing out those real pesky icons that you only rarely see but are used.
oh.. and keep an eye out for those crazy .9png's!!!

[Q] Help, Statusbar themes?

Can one of you guru's give a noob a hand and tell me what i'm doing wrong.
no matter what i do i can't seem to theme the status bar.
I've created a new statusbar_background.9.png (yes i know .9.pngs are odd)
but i can't seem to actually make the phone take the change.
everything else i try and change shows up with no problem.
i've tried everything i could think of but am sure i'm missing something.
this file (attached) seems to do what i want if i drop it in framework-res on my old phone. or systemui on my tablet.
there is a statusbar_background.9.png in systemui but ????
but on the touch even if i edit the .xml and call it as drawable both as a .9 and a normal .png and i can't seem to make the touch like the change. i don't get a FC i just see the standard black bar. if i just delete the png i do get a fc though so...
I've even tried with a solid red bar just to see if it was the transparency but no go.
is it calling a different statusbar_background from somewhere i just can't find?
Many thanks to the person who tells me how im an idiot

Ahh yes the dreaded 9.PNG file... it drives us themers nuts... it takes special edit which a little more than I can explain here. Search edit 9.PNG and I think you will find threads that will explain it in depth... probably not the answer you wanted but there are people on xda who have explained it much better than could...
thanks i'll give it a few more shots. but i'm fairly certain i created the .9.png correctly as it works on a couple other devices. and all my other .9 edits seem to work as intended. just was wondering if it was possible that it really wasn't the statusbar_background.9.png in systemui.apk that themed the status bar by some chance. as it seemed to FC if i had an incorrectly made png, but boots fine just with no change if i use one i'm pretty sure works.
just wish some themer had skinned the statusbar at all so i'd know it was just me being a mooley
I'm wondering the same thing, as I've changed almost everything else to MIUI style status indicators just by swapping PNG's in the drawable-hdpi folders. Crysis21 uses an HTC style status bar in his SensatioN ROM, and I've downloaded it to search the files and still can't find where the hell the change is made.
Yea just seems to want to foil my every try. It should just be the status_bar.9.png in systemui and mine seems to work on my buddies international s2 but for some reason ........ Dunno it may take me a while but ill figure it out eventually. Unless some kind soul steps in and shows us the answer

Do you mind aharing what youve done already? Im running starburat rom and would love to get rid of the green gingerbread icons lol
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Sorry about the format, I wasn't able to upload a zip for some reason, the attached file has all of the drawable-hdpi folder changes I've made. The work isn't my own, only some of the tweaks and proper naming, its from HTC, the MIUI devs, and the brilliant minds (obviously mine excluded) on XDA.
Thanks....gonna try and learn as well. You guys are mch better than i but we all start simewhere right

[Q] On screen button bar colour

Hello there,
After flashing the Nexus OSBs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2395929) and realising I wasn't happy with the middle icon's colour,, I decided to do some research and figure out how to change the icons myselff. After some dabbling, I finally figured out how to do this and I'm happy with it.
However, the background bar for the OSBs is a greyish colour, and not black like the status bar (as you can see in the SS). I was wondering if anyone knows how I can change this? Is it a PNG in SystemUI.apk? I tried to search for it but 'm afraid I couldn't find anything.
Thanks very much
EDIT: For other people with a similar question. I've found the solution! I don't use ADB so I had to reflash the SystemUI.apk but the answer lies in editing an XML file
In SystemUI.apk /res/layout/navigation_bar.XMLyou can change "android:background="xx" to #000000 android:background="#000000"
(SS2)
