How hard would it be to turn off the onscreen buttons. Pointless on a phone like ours with an already small screen.

Absolutely fantastic rom, with the only quirks being the soft keys and lack of advanced power menu. Besides that, I really, really like this.

#1 They are off by default, I enabled them
#2 YOU may think it's pointless, But many people including myself like them, & since it's my ROM, they are there. Feel free to make your own without them.
#3 If you would've waited a little bit before you started pissing on the thread, you would've found a No Softkey Mod To Remove Them.

Well problem solved there, I'll search that up. Absolutely love all of these small tweaks though, haven't seen anything like it before.

MODS
I am starting to build & post the Mods for this ROM, just check the OP.
I am open to input as to what direction you guys would like to see this build go, so tell me what you want. I would love to have some input on what kernel you would like to see included, then I can add a custom kernel, or would you rather it stay stock ??
If any of you ran my Sensei Mods for the Droid X, then you know that the aim of these builds is a close to stock ROM, with tweaks & options to make it better, with great battery life & stability as the focus.
Thanks & Enjoy~

Hey mobile_sensei since I came to the NS4G I have used your elite and gummy roms, as I have had no problems with them at all. They seem to run smooth and get good battery.
I like the matrix kernel that the newest Gummy rom has. That is super smooth. Also some mods that I would like to see is the clock in the middle of the status bar (white), a battery percentage mod, and a no soft key mods.
Thanks again for the hard work! (and listening to our input)

* Optimized every image, yet again!
 Installation:
1: Make a backup! (never hurts, ever)
2: Either wipe everything manually, or flash the ROM directly. SuperWipe is already integrated into the install zip (SuperWipe thread LINK)
3: Flash the ROM
4: Reboot and WAIT....
IF YOU HAVE BOOTUP ISSUES
Flash the JellyBean bootloader from above.
Theres a very high chance that alone will solve your bootup issue!
Recommendations:
When you reboot for the first time after flashing the ROM, it may take anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes to boot up. Dont be alarmed! Just wait patiently. All my testers have been successful in booting this up, even though their bootup times varied quite a bit. Just let it sit.
Also, when you get into the ROM, and get stuff set up, let it SETTLE for a bit. Scripts have to run, and things need to install. It will be choppy at first, but a few minutes of use will smooth is out. After that, even after a reboot, it will be smooth right from boot up!

The list your trying to find, isnt really a list as such right now. There are AOKP fixes and whatnot, but my personal touches, at this point, are 95% behind the scenes. Memory tweaks, image optimization, bloat removal, things like that. Theres more to come, just be patient. lol

Hey AT&T Galaxy S3 users! (and i717M Canadian users!)
I wanted to share a ROM I am starting to build, it's in its infant stages(notice version 0.1) so this ROM isn't for everyone.
I wanted to build a ROM for especially for noobs, for those of you who are just getting into the game. I do receive a ton of emails from noobs being totally disappointed after trying advanced ROMs like CM9/CM10. Not all but those noobs I wanted to help by building a ROM off the stock ROM.
I know, if you are a noob, you shouldn't be flashing a ROM anyways but there are a ton of noobs who want to flash ROM anyways and I want to support those specific people by building a stock-like ROM but adding cool features so they can slowly transition to other great custom ROMs already here on XDA.
Anyways, if you have any suggestions and you are a total boob and want certain features added/removed, let me know and will work on the next versions.
Thanks!
See Video Review Here
Features:
- Based off latest Stock UCALG1.
- Custom Boot Animation support (put bootanimation.zip in /system/media directory)
- Add2SD (When you insert a microSD card, it will swap your internal storage with microSD card for app data)
- Jelly Bean Boot Animations
- Native Init.d Support
- Google Now
- Native Wifi/Bluetooth tether
- USB Kies support
- 4-way Reboot Power menu
- Speed tweaks for 3G/HSPA+/WiFi
- Power saving features
- Graphic acceleration for your photos/videos
- Deodexed/Zipaligned
- SuperSU
- More coming soon! (Let me know what you really want!)
- AT&T Bloatware removed
ChangeLog:
v0.3 Added Init.d support for kernel and App2SD Hack.
v0.2 Added Custom Boot animation support, 15-toggles and native Wifi/Bluetooth tether (thanks to Electron73!), 4-way power menu (thanks to magn2o!), and AT&T bloatware removed.
v0.1 Jelly Bean Animations, GoogleNow, speed tweaks for 3G/HSPA+/WiFi, power saving features, and graphic acceleration so your photos/videos should be higher quality.
Download:
UPDATE: 8/23/2012 - Users reported having some battery issues with v0.2, this has been fixed, please flash HighOnAndroid kernel after installing ROM over fox fix.
http://galaxys3root.com/highonandroid-galaxy-s3-rom/
If you are coming from a stock AT&T ROM, you don't need to wipe!
If coming from any other ROM, please do wipe!
*Note - This ROM is for NOOBs, if you are an XDA expert, you shouldn't be flashing this ROM! (Go try Kyan, TuchMi, Diet, WanamLite, CM9, CM10, etc...etc...)
P.S. I support the noobs. We were all once noobs asking the dumbest questions in the world, no there's no such thing as a dumb question, that's how you get smarter but don't annoy others on XDA with dumb questions.

Brightness slider bar below the toggles
Jelly bean animations of course, which you already have done
Maybe some cool battery bar mods as well
I was downloading an AOKP rom, just seen this. It looks as if I have some flashing to do today, there is so much to try out; your video looked great though!
This seems pretty cool... If you could incorporate Google Wallet that'd be great. Downloading and giving this a try. I'll post back with some feedback!

Bad ass ROM, Drew. Thanks. No hiccups so far.
Fun ROM, sorry I took so long to reply again I just got off of work finally. Anyway found a couple bugs...
In the toggle settings the "Profiles" toggle makes SystemUI force close while selected.
The mute state doesnt work (though this may be an AOKP bug).
My CRT animation is landscape... Even in portrait... Not sure what set that off.
Also had two random reboots, once while setting up and once while writing this post.
Great ROM with lots of features : D keep up the good work!
I had the alarm set this morning and when it went off, the phone rebooted. Tried 6 times to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Happened every time.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Can you dirty flash over another existing 4.2.2 ROM????
Thx
Sent from my "Blazing" fast Nexus
You "could" but who knows what bugs you'd end up with. Since this is true 4.2.2 and most of the others you still need to flash things to get other kernels to work and things like that, it could pose a problem.
On another note, after the rebooting for each alarm set, 3 random reboots on my way to work. (35 min drive) I really like the look/feel of this rom so I hope this gets worked out soon. Can someone else confirm the rebooting when the alarm goes off please?

Lol. Thanks for checking. I re-dl'd the rom and flashed fresh again and now it works with no reboots. Maybe it was just a bad dl to start with or something got corrupted when transferring it from the cpu to the phone.

Did you get permission from them to post this? Great rule of thumb is "if it is not your work then dont post it"
I was going to, but I didn't hear back from drew. He's never on xda these days...

He's just throwing it out there, he didn't take any credit for it. I would think they would want people running their ROM, let the mods handle that part. That's their job, not ours. If there's a problem, it will be handled and lesson learned. The burned hand teaches best.

You have to have the dev permission before posting their work.

Please be aware you will not get support for this ROM in this thread.

My music would play, then when song changed it would turn volume up to Max , so I will wait for a fix than that it seems good.

On this ROM after seeing this thread. Currently on the latest nightly and I am LOVING it, coming from the PACMan rom. My only issue so far is the MMS Theme options not sticking for the actual conversation view. Can't get alternating colors to stick. Background will change, conversation list colors will change... just not the single conversation view. Gonna try the milestone version and see if that fixes it.
DrewGaren acknowledges this thread on his website
If you read his blog he said he only has a few forums made, but if you head over to the XDA link at the top you can see the unofficial d2att orca thread that will bring you here. Hopefully when milestone 2 is released he'll make an official debut of Project Orca for us.
That being said it was pretty smooth and very customizable. I ran the milestone for a few days but I found a lot of my apps I restored with tibu would fc and I couldn't get the play store to work at all. I tried to clear cache/ dalvik, clear play stores cache and even update to the latest nightly but still no go. I had to go back to a different ROM but I still miss what he incorporated In to it.
So Far So Good
I have been following Drew for awhile and I do not normally post, but I have had this as my daily driver (1.08 AT&T) for a few days now with no issues that I have found. Everything works well and I have no ideas of a change anytime soon. People should check out his work and support him if they can. I read on his page he will be out of town for a week making a nightly postponed until he returns. Looking forward to his next Milestone.
This thread was hard to find. I found it via Google, not XDA search engine.
For those interested in a Preview Video, it starts at 1:33
This is definitely one of the best ROM's and it is maintained by a DEV with high standards and a whole lot of decency. There's a whole lot of people who would like his work and should maybe check him out on Google+ or his site and just see what he has brewing now.....

A ROM that we want it to be. Smooth. The features. Creativity. Without those in the credits in the box, i guess, you won't see this ROM being a combo.
What is Xylon?
A Generally based of many kinds of features around the Android Development and fits into minimal customization. It may act up like AOKP, but totally not at all. Overall, we're still in work in progress state of changing the base to slightly minimal like FNV before. This ROM is built off with GCC 4.7, O3, Linaro Strings enabled. (Galaxy Nexus Kernel, fusion with anarkia's horn, O3 and Linaro GCC 4.7.3 enabled.). Feature list will be available in the 2nd post. Changelogs. We don't usually write up but we will starting builds of 2.2. Again, it's a kang - kang - kang -o-rama ROM! ;D

Does the back camera have working video recording?
btw Thank you so much for your hard work
Had to set system fonts to small for the lock screen widgets to display in frame.
*edit: it was the height of the Nav bar that made the lock screen clock and slider not fit together, made the bar around 65% height and solved the issue
Set the brighness of 1-41 lux to 0% for auto brightness to go to lowest when dark.
It's tends not go back to full dim once the auto-brightness is toggled. Oh well.

yep .. (((
ROM UPDATED . FFC FIXED ( thx to albinoman887 ) .
and some news from rom devs
flashed the 130522, yes the FFC doesn't crash, but Home key doesn't work search key doesn't work, no launcher setting option, signal bar stays at zero, though I was able to make a call, who knows what else.
Maybe consider merging the Camera files from 130522 to your 130521? these are different base looks like.
thanks.

Ya, I tried both dirty flash (cleared dalvik and cache) and a clean flash, gApps included. who knows no big deal, Rolling back to 130521 for now, need to head out for work.
Launcher works, I was saying the menu button is not on the right upper corner in app drawer for settings.
