install Windows 95 on Samsung Galaxy Y - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Most of you might be knowing that Android is
an Operating System based on Linux.
Well this Operating System has the parameters to achieve
many things. Such way this can also help us
actually emulate Windows 95 on our phone.
The results are not great, but result is positive.
The Windows lag sometimes.
Even the Fonts aren't visible clearly.
Tutorial -
1) First Download this file - LINK-http://www.mediafire.com/?099fqbi93ifbl9x
2) You will notice that there are 2 files inside.
A folder named 'SDL' and an APK named - 'SDL.TECHTON.DEVELOPER.apk'
3) You must put the folder named 'SDL' directly inside the SD card (not in any folder or something)
4) Now Install the APK and then your done !
5)open the apk file after install
5)This is the look of windows which starts approx. after about 2 or 3 minutes
do not forget to press thanks button if i helpfull for you

thats now a os, thats not even a shell or theme. and by the way, it sucks

anyone tried this one?

Not working... while click the app, it's close directly.
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App

i tried this on my apad last december, all you can do is play minesweeper lol, i think, it can serve as a funny file manager

What's the point for an os that is already buried in the dustbin of history? Ahhh, unless you want to play.????

gud pm

Root and other Apps for Samsung Galaxy Y S5360

Root Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 Android 2.3.5 and Android 2.3.6 versions.
1. Download Update.zip file below attachment and copy the Update.zip file in to the root of the SD Card.
2. Switch off your mobile phone
3. After the complete phone switched off, go to recovery mode. For this recovery mode, hold the power, volume up and the home buttons simultaneously.
4. Now can navigate through recovery mode only with the volume up and down buttons. Select Update.zip and the root will be applied on your Galaxy Y.
5. Reboot your phone and it's rooted!! You can check for an application named "Super User" to check whether your phone is rooted or not.
Note:- It is working in my mobile 100% without any problem. I am not responsible for, if it is not working, damage your mobile and or any other issues.

hello all
can anybody tell me how to do following ????????? ( i have just moved over from symbian to ANDROID )
1. how to set default bluetooth received file location to sdcard
2. how to exit apps running in background
3. how to view/create/edit files and folders stored on phone/sdcard
4. can't we change themes ????
5. how much is rooting android related to hacking symbian
6. which is the most safe ics root
7. why does the default music player does not read from zip/rar archives ????
8. is there a detailed android ics guide available ?
1. how to set default bluetooth received file location to sdcard
I don't think you can with the stock HTC ROM.
2. how to exit apps running in background
Not necessary and discouraged because it wastes battery. But if you must, download an app called Advanced Task Killer from Google Play.
3. how to view/create/edit files and folders stored on phone/sdcard
The best app IMHO is ES File Explorer, again at Google Play.
4. can't we change themes ????
Not much theming content for One V yet. Give it time. HTC's stuff can be found using HTC Hub in your app drawer. Once more developers have the One V, they'll be posting it here. General theming stuff can always be found at Google Play.
5. how much is rooting android related to hacking symbian
Can't tell you as I know nothing about Symbian.
6. which is the most safe ics root
Rooting isn't dangerous. Moreover, rooting methods tend to be different for different devices, even if running the same OS. To root the One V, go here:
[TUT]How to Unlock Bootloader and Root your Htc One V
7. why does the default music player does not read from zip/rar archives ????
Don't know, but I don't zip mine. Maybe someone can point you to a media player that reads from archives.
8. is there a detailed android ics guide available ?
Google is your friend here.

I don't know what you're asking
I think navigation requires compass sensor in phone, which is absent in one V. U can see no compass warning in the HTC locations app. However u can get directions from map easily.

I don't know that Navigation requires a compass, but you may be right. I have an Android device with a compass (Galaxy Tab 8.9) and Navigation is still not available here on that.
Yeah thats right, google navigation is not a available in India, but proper navigation requires compass as implied by the term itself.

Let me give you a more comprehensive answer ..
1. Default can't be set currently but I can help you transfer files..you need to be rooted...download root exploror and transfer the file from mnt/emmc too mnt/sdcard...
2. To exit background apps (i use it regularly) ...there is a built in task manager in the phone that does the job..
3. Astro File Manager
4. Wait for proper themes..let the custom roms start rolling out...till then you can use HTC skins from personalize menu in settings..
5. Rooting is basically getting access to all internal files for better customization...google "advantages of rooting an Android"....I dunno what hacking symbian is..
6.use ckpv5's guide...it is n00b proof..don't worry ruu(rom update utiluty) are always there...so no tension..
7. Cuz technically speaking they are part of another file type...extract them and music player will read
8. What do ya mean??
gimme a buzz for any more details you want..

Also all people wanting navigation in other countries use " Brut Navigation"....it is a mod of google navigation to make it work in other countries....no difference even name and stuff is same as normal navigation....

It is possible to do this by mount bind the /mnt/emmc/downloads/bluetooth folder to bluetooth folder on sdcard. You need to run the below shell script in order to mount. Unfortunately the mount will be removed after start up. Possibly there is some app which can run this script automatically after start up. You need a rooted phone in order to be able to execute the script and you need to create "bluetooth" folder on your sdcard.
Just create a new file (name it something like bt_to_sdcard.sh) and type below code in it. Then execute in terminal using Terminal Emulator or using Script manager or some other application.
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
mount -o bind /mnt/sdcard/bluetooth /mnt/emmc/downloads/bluetooth
Someone knows a better method how to direct the bluetooth dowload folder to sdcard?
erm... bout the navigation... try Waze, its a free social navi app from google play

Hmm, maybe it's the way you're sesrching. I was able to find the answers to your questions on Google. Maybe chsnging the way you ask might help.
As a sign of good will, the answer to question #2: download advanced task killer from Google Play aka Market.
Answer to question #3: download a file manager such as "root explorer"
The rest is up to you.
PS: I already knew the answers, but did a Google search just to demonstrate they are there if you search hard enough.

ROOT - SAFARICOM INTEL BT210 a.k.a YOLO

This forum is for us to share details on how to root the Safaricom Intel BT210 a.k.a YOLO phone. Please post all your ideas here and help us get root for this phone.
Possible Root Thanks to @Andrew Andrax
"Hi.
I am relatively new to xda. I am not allowed to post replies. I also have the yolo phone and been looking for a way to root it since it has 32 bit architecture (x86). Below is a method that I havent tried coz it is for netbooks running android but since the phone has a similar architecture i assume it will work.
http://lkubuntu.wordpress.com/2012/10/26/how-to-root-an-android-device-under-ubuntu/
Other links are in the post from the link above. I would also appreciate it if you could post it in the forum. By the way, I would also appreciate it if you could tell me how i can be able to start replying to comments.
Kind regards, Andrew.
P.S: The above post to be done requires a linux environment such as a linux O.S like Ubuntu and the likes or installing Cygwin if you have Windows. But make sure that you install the Android SDK which has ADB."
Guys lets try this one out and give feedback. I am trying it out and will post back with the details!!!:fingers-crossed:

Hi, i tried the method u put in the 2nd post to root my YOLO phone n it will not execute the 'psneuter' file it just brings an error.
i think that method does not apply to this phone.
i tried copying the method from MO,DA,CO on how to root the Orange San Diego which uses a similar chipset it didn't work, ditto with the RAZR I method.
I want to try the rooting method for the ASUS Fonepad as i feel it can work as it uses the same exact chipset as the YOLO.
Rooted rooted rooted..
Read This Before you begin:
" If you brick / damage / change your device after root you can NOT revert back to Stock rom as there is no Custom Recovery has been ported and nor will be ported !!( device has been obsolated "
So think Twice Before you Root
Finally i found a way to root intel yolo aka xolo x500 or ANY OTHER x86 device..
it's exploit> Cydia Impactor..
Downloads
Root Tool
http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/
Drivers
http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-android-device-usb-driver
Method.
Install Drivers..
On your Phone Turn on Usb Debugging mode . (Settings>Advanced>Usb debugging )
Extract Impactor.zip
Run Impactor.exe
**BACK UP YOUR ROM DUMP **
Now copy and Paste this code in Impactor. ( See the Attachment..)
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/mnt/sdcard_ext/system.img
This will generate System.img file of about 768MB in your /mnt/sdcard_ext ( I.e your Memory Card ..)
Copy it to you PC or somewhere this might come in Handy someday..
However i do NOT know anyway to flash this image on Bricked device !!
Select to drop su.
DOne..
The rest you have to do is just install your favorite super user manager,
Personally i use supersu..
If you have any problems,
SHOOT ME MAILS,
I DON'T FREQUENTLY LOG ON TO XDA / MODACO etc..
HERE IS MY MAIL ID:
[email protected]
A Thing or Two you might wanna know,
1: This is root exploit,
So if you delete superuser.apk and su binary, NO OEM can tell that your device was rooted or not..
2: THIS IS AN X86 device not ARM,
i.e.:
a> Some root tools which uses arm binaries wont work on device.
b>Filesystem structure is bit different on X86 than ARM , so THINK TWICE before you screw up anything.
c> If you are Linux user then NEVER rely on useless apks,
Old fashion way of Terminal is best..
DO NOT USE FOLLOWING SOFTWARE..
CHAINFIRE 3D and any other Chainfire applications .. (They are build for ARM devices.)
Recovery Softwares .. ( There are NO CWM or even STOCK rom available for this device ..)
This software are SURE to BRICK YOUR DEVICE...
.
I hope you enjoy my post..

Trust me or NOT , Your have screwed your system ..
It's not gonna restart ,
Solution: Just go to Service station , just tell them my phone got hanged . ( Act like you are noob ),
They will flash your phone with stock rom.
DONT TELL ANY THING ABOUT ROOTING , or your warranty is VOID !!
Why this happened ?
1> Chainfire 3d is designed for ARM devices , not INTEL (x86) devices..
2> Even developer says it's not for ICS ..
3> LAST BUT NOT LEAST: YOU did not read my whole post where i already mention not to Rely on APKs ..

Spreading the news all over....Most people got rid of their phones because they couldn't get root but finally we have it!!!
So development of a custom ROM maybe? where are those kenyan android developers we hear about!?:cyclops:

Oh Man...you beat me to it...but it's totally ok. I was to post the same answer today
To get the Apk for the Intel wireless, my suggestion is the use of a playstore app called 'Bluetooth file transfer" send the Intel wireless apk to another Bluetooth enabled droid and you can easily harvest it to install in any other droid that is supported.

Sorry...I meant the program will extract the said program as an apk and send it via Bluetooth. Then you can sideload the apk to another phone and install it

Also, can you write your post in bigger font size, I cannot read? :silly: (just kidding, reducing the font size should help too, use titles)

I am so sorry but I already closed that gt-i9000 upk kit project . If you want more help about installing or other things I can help you with everything.
Nah, you're nice but I flashed a custom rom last night. It was a long time I didn't do that and it was hard to find the tools / roms / cf-root, but I did it.

How To Get iOS 11 Open / Close App Animation On Android

Here’s how you can get iOS 11 new open and close app animation on an Android device running version 5.0 and up.
If you are an Android device owner who simply cannot find it within you to move away from the world’s most popular mobile operating system across to iOS, but you happen to admire certain facets of iOS, and in particular iOS 11, then you really need to be reading this. Thanks to the hard work of a single XDA Developers forum member,mizdrake7, it is now possible to get the iOS 11 open/close app animations on any Android 5.0+ device.
Companies like Apple and Google are continuously using new versions of their platforms to tweak certain experiences. We all pay attention to the large wholesale changes which ship with new major versions of iOS and Android, but very few people, aside from the purists, pay attention to the relatively minor refinements, such as the new opening and closing animations of apps that form part of the iOS 11 experience.
For those Android fans out there who appreciate a relatively minor but overly positive improvement, it’s now possible to get them on the Android platform. Unfortunately, this isn’t just a simple case of heading to the Play Store and downloading an app that brings this new experience. Because it is essentially modifying the default behaviors of the Android platform, it requires a device running Android 5.0+ with a custom recovery installed, which simply put, means you need root access.
If you have that covered, simply download the necessary ZIP file from here link:- https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7fIOZZgI8cVUzJyZVhoalBsaFk/view?usp=drivesdk
, and then flash it through a custom recovery onto the device itself, as long as that device is running Android 5.0 or above.
The provided installer also creates an internal backup of the stock Android open and close animation, meaning that if you don’t actually like the new iOS 11 default, or simply tired of having an Apple-behavior on an Android device, then it’s possible to roll back to stock quite easily. Of course, this type of installation and project does come with the usual warnings that device owners should actually have some knowledge of modifying an Android device, and in particular, knowledge of flashing packages and custom recoveries.
This isn’t exactly the most inspiring change, or the biggest project ever to come to Android, but it’s definitely one that will have some lasting appeal to those who like finer, subtler, modifications that make all of the difference when using a device.
