HTC Stock Rom Recovery Android 2.3.3 & 2.3.5 - HTC Wildfire S

Hey guys,
for all those who want to have the orginal stock rom back here's a
recovery by me. It's Android 2.3.3 and 2.3.5. Flashable through cwm 5.
Android 2.3.3 Version: here
Android 2.3.5 Version: here
OC Kernel (806 MHz): here <= ONLY 2.3.5
You will find the downloads if you click "To Downloads" and then choose the one you want
Click the banner if you want to support me !
For me it works very stable and smoothly. If it doesn't boot and redirects you to the recovery: wipe data, cache and dalvik again and retry.
Questions please here in this thread and NOT per pn!
Best regards,

Not working for me "E:invalid command argument" tried several times with wiping all but just boots into recovery.

Ok,
First time i got the same problem.
try to flash an other rom with cwm and then wipe data, cache and dalvik.
after this flash the stock rom agian.
If this fails too, post the cmd-output please.
ps. Which version did you used?

hmm.
could you please do the fowwowing ?
1. open command window in the directory of the recovery tool.
2. run "fastboot devices" and check if your device is listed.
3. if not, get the newtest fastboot .exe from here --> android sdk
it should be in xxx\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools. also copy adb.exe and AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinApiUsb.dll into the recovery folder.
4. try again and run "fastboot devices".
5. if your device is listed : start flashing.

Well i see alot of people get problems, i would say that you will need to install an adb driver onto your computer to fix part of the problem and to make sure you have a memory card inserted with at least 15mb of free space inside of it.

Dude !!!
Dont post this type of posts in this thread
others will think that you flashed the recovery and got bricked your phone
please edit the above thread and tell your actual problem like you flashed using kdz updater and the bricked.I have already PMed.
After clicking on the .bat file, it does put gscript app on my phone, but it can't find the script.sh file on the sd card (there's no gscript folder as well).
Should I try the installer again? Create the folder and copy the file?
Nevermind, it's working now. I just don't know how to keep going from there. How do I install a new ROM?
After I click on the script, it does blue screen and then reboots, but not into recovery mode it just starts up like normal.
Thanks .

I had this problem too (tho i flashed manually) but when i reflashed it worked fine. But before you try reflashing it try to boot the phone into recovery using ADB
Here is how:
Plug your phone in and enable debugging.
Then open ADB and type in su and hit enter after that type reboot recovery and again enter. If you flashed the recovery correctly your phone should boot into recovery. Hope that helps
Hello!
Your tutorial is quite good and very helpful.
Everything worked as you described.
But, after the blue screen, I had an issue: my phone stops at Fastboot mode. Then I get the message "udc_start()" and it stops there, nothing happens. It doesn't start android. Can you tell how to proceed from there?
Thank in advance!
Best,
F

If ripping out the battery didn't help then you need to flash the recovery via fastboot.Since your phone automatically boots into bootloader ( the udc_start () state) you need to download fastboot flasher ( you can find it via google or xda search) and flash recovery from there.Just make sure you are flashing the right recovery. And then from the recovery you can flash a custom rom.

You boot into recovery and navigate to backup (in order to make nandroid backup-you can skipp this step but you won't have a stock android backup in case you dont like the new rom or it doesn't work) than navigate to flash zip from sdcard(obviously you need the rom on the sdcard) and then select the rom and then confirm flash. After that you should see a yellow progress bar after the flash is complete you reboot your device.Oh and just in case you didn't know you navigate using up and down volume buttons you confirm with menu button and you cancel/go back with back button

I did it differently because there is no working link of the recovery.zip
after rooting the phone with gingerbreak, simply download ROM Manager from play store and flash recovery from there.
hi i need original rom 2.2.2 for my phone in zip form so i can put on my sd card and flash dose anybody have this and if so could they upload it for me thanks
Works nicely! However, I had to follow the following procedure:
- Disconnect the USB cable
- Start in fastboot mode
- Type the command in the PC (it should says something like "Waiting for device")
- Connect the USB cable
Without using this procedure, I would get stuck in "Waiting for device". Hope it helps someone.

I tried using this method , but instead of getting a recovery i ended up with a bricked phone , soI used the clockworkmod app from playstore to install cwm 6 recovery , worked fine without any problems for me

WTF!!!!!!!

I recently sold my Wildfire S, and because of that I wanted to wipe the phone out. So, I went to install a ROM, the same m1 mix I have been using for months, and I tried to install it again.
> Stays at HTC white screen and will forever if I let it.
> Tried installing another ROM to see if it was just corrupt. No go.
> I can get to the HBoot screen and move around but I can't get past HTC screen after installation is complete!!!
> Tried installing CWM again to see if it was an issue there, but now I get a "Install Fail" message because the ID is incorrect (I assume it has to do with the golf card)
I just want the damn thing to boot and work, I don't even care if it goes back to stock, I just need it to work. What are my options here? Any help would be great. An important factor I should mention is that I am on a Mac, and only have access to a Mac.
Thanks!
I have an evo so I'm not sure how things work on your phone but have you tried an ruu? It should help
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Are you wiping data/factory reset, cache and dalvik? You need to do this in cwm
Yes, I always wipe both system and cache, as well as dalvik.
I will try a RUU, see where that gets me. Thanks. And if anyone else has suggestions please let me know!
I think you can only run an ruu under windows.
I could be wrong though.
I can't just have the ZIP on my SD Card and install it from there?
You can but I think it will give you the same issue.
Try it though, its worth a shot
I just want the easiest way to get this back to functioning. I don't need any of the data on the phone or the SD card. I just wanted it to work. Period.
Easiest and safest is ruu
Do you not know anyone that will let you run it on their windows machine?
It would take 10 mins topps and is almost guaranteed to get you back up and running.
By the way are you a GSM or cdma user?
Edit: is that rom overclocked by default? The reason I ask is a lot of people have been having issues like you when installing Rom's that are pre overclocked.
Check if there's a default clock speed kernel on his op

Hello ,
this will return your phone to stock state (means that you will no longer have CWM recovery and you will have to install it again after this. If unlocked with XTC Clip YOU WILL STAY S-OFF ,I didn`t tried it with device unlocked via HTC Dev)
STEP BY STEP instructions what you should do :
1. go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432474
2. download http://www.mediafire.com/?ksa9k8dmxexdkdo
3. follow the instructions from 1
4. click thanks button
credits to Gig11gs & Ping192
P.S. I`m not responsible if you do any damage to your device.
if you have a backup or something then flash it through hboot
or if you have a extracted zip file from an ruu (rom.zip file in c:/temp when you run the installer) then extract it to desktop and flash it through hboot(if the file name of system is system.yaffs2.img then change it to system.img , you require only two files boot.img and system.img so no need to extract everything just extract these two)
the codes for both are
(locate the adb files first.)
in my case i have copied fastboot file from tools folder of sdk on desktop and also adb and adbbin.dll on desktop.. if you also copy these files on desktop then run the following exact commands when you are on bootloader the fastboot option will be highligted press power buton to select it .. when you in fastboot menu connect phone to pc and then write these command in dos prompt (go to start menu , run then write cmd and press enter you will have a dos prompt open)
Code:
cd desktop
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
when done go to recovery and now do all format data , clear chache and dalvik chace your phone will be un rooted total stock
It worked for me.. credits to EOgan
Or you can go to this tutorial that will downgrade everything even hboot and radio at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540952 and remember o thank me
Just a thought but have you wiped everything before flashing the ROM? I've had a weird experience once with pretty much the same issue (stuck on splash screen). Wiping everything (system, data, cache, boot AND SD Card) seemed to have resolved the issue. If you're using an already partitioned card, I'd recommend powering off after CWM flashing, unmounting the SD and then turning it on.
This should work actually (don't see a reason not to). Also, if you've modified the ROM.zip file in any way after downloading it, I'd advise flashing one which is freshly downloaded rather (would eliminate any user tweaks causing the issue).
PS. I've attached a flashable superwipe script which you can run before flashing the ROM. Let me know how it worked out for you.

stuck after wiping

i used ext4 recovery to go to screen to flash a rom and it freeezed after I wiped partition except sd card ( i'm presuming my sd card is still ok)
so i tried to connect my phone to adb on my computer but was unable to flash the rom via fastboot. Is it possible to do so or what am i supposed to do ? am i supposed to place the ROM zip file in the android platform tools folder or push it to my SD card ( I am not too sure what command to input too ) ?

boot in recovery again and reflash the rom. ADB only works with booted phones and custom roms are not possible to be flashed from fastboot anyway but RUU's are.
Sorry I forgot to add that my volume is spoilt so that's why I was trying to use the adb. Is there anyway I can try to flash anything or I have to try the ruu (where can I get it and place it in and the command to type too) ?thanks
i used a card reader and checked my SD card and there's a clockworkmod folder with the files .android_secure.vfat (357,525 KB RAR) ,cache.ext4 ( 5KB RAR) , data.ext4 ( 489,783 RAR) , system.ext4 ( 424,852 KB RAR) , boot.img ( 4,096 KB IMG file) , fsinfo (1 KB file), nandroid.md5 (1 KB MD5 file) , recovery.img ( 8,701KB IMG file ) . anything i can do with them too ? I pulled my batt out as I was afraid it might run down quickly with the boot menu on all day too - not sure if I can get back to it later

Connect your phone to your computer, make sure ADB and the drivers are installed, and type it from the computer command line. There are several ADB guides online; Ace Think Tank thread in General forums has one linked.
yup, comp suddenly said found new hardware and asked for drivers , so i assumed it meant it wanted the android 1.0 and got the android-usb-driver and included in the path folder for it to search to install.
after I got to the boot menu, i keyed adb reboot recovery but it says no device found now - have I done anything wrong ?

You need to install drivers with the device unplugged. Install them, then plug the phone and let the PC finish the process. Once it says that the device is ready to be used, you go ahead.
If you are going to install them again, uninstall what it is already in your pc from control panel and then do the above. :good:
oh,,,, I thought it suddenly needed something when plugged and prompted to install some drivers so I did ....
erm, I'm not sure where the driver is now - the only possible options i have under my control panel is 'Add hardware' or 'add/remove program' , I suppose ? windows xp

Windows 8 is the problem, ul need to google the drivers for it, windows 8 is a nightmare with fastboot. If u can get ur hands on a laptop/pc with windows 7/vista etc it would be much easier.
same thing i installed the drivers on win 7 64 bit and it still says waiting for device ... what can be the problem and how to troubleshoot that ?
Make sure to install these drivers as well: http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
Try to do it with these steps:
You'll want to make sure your phone has USB debugging enabled: Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > make sure it's checked
Go to http://revolutionary.io/
Select your operating system (Windows or Linux only at this time)
The download should start right away and you'll be prompted to obtain a beta key (we'll cover this in a sec)
Extract the .zip file
Run the file "revolutionary"
A command prompt should appear and ask you for the beta key (the serial number should appear right next to this)
Go back to the Revolutionary site, select your OS, device, HBOOT version, and enter the serial number from the previous step
Generate the beta key
Copy the beta key over to the command prompt window, press enter, and wait patiently. It took a little bit for the phone to reboot into fastboot and proceeded to reboot fastboot 4 times. On the third time S-OFF was shown.
The command prompt window will then ask if you want to download and install ClockworkMod Recovery, type "y" for yes and press enter
Congratulations, you have an HTC EVO 3D with S-OFF and a custom recovery installed! However, you don't have root yet!
Reboot the phone. It may go through the hands free activation process, but just let it do it's thing.
Follow this link to download a .zip you'll need to obtain root
Transfer it to your SD card
Reboot the phone into recovery
Flash the zip from there, reboot, and you're all done!

Htc one m8 useless after wipe data, no recognized from pc for fastbooting

I tried to install an update from HTC ( Lollipop 5.0 ) but It wasnt possible because my phone was rooted. I came with the status 7 error. Then while reading some articles, I found that in order to get rid off that error and to install a new rom or update I must wipe all data from my phone, even the system part for a clean installation so I wiped it.
After that , my phone freezes on htc white logo.
I can access to fastboot with the Power button an volume
It says
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***

And then the options
But when I go to recovery, the phone goes to Philz Touch ClockWorkMod screen
The version of Philz Touch is 6.57.8 and ClockWorkMod is v6.0.5.1
And when I tried to restore my phone, it says there's any backup files, so I cant restore to factory
As my phone can not be recognized by my pc because the OS can not run, I think I can not use One_M8_All-In-One_Kit_v2.0.
Is there any chance to get my HTC work again? I just dont care the Lollipop update now. I just want it to work again. I' ve been reading many articles during these 3 days but I dont know how to repair it yet.
Please help me
Pdt: I tried to add Images but the forum doesnt let me.

But there is Philz-tocuh in phone. Am I not going to mess things up if I install TWRP?
You're going to mess up more when you use One_M8_All-In-One_Kit_v2.0.
Just follow the guide if you want to fix your phone
or wait for someone else to help you if you insist to keep that outdated philz recovery
Good luck ... time to bed now .. good night
Oh Thanks. I didn't meant to be unpolite. It just I am very new on this. So I must first, get rid off the Philz bootloader and then install the TWRP, right?
Just install TWRP 2.8.1.0
It will replace Philz recovery, no need to do any other thing
No uninstall is needed
Ok. I got it. But, I can not figure it out how to run command to my phone because my pc does not recognize my phone. I have installed the htc drivers; however, as my phone just shows the htc logo I dont have any option to use MTP connection. Even, I tried to find and option for running commands in the fastboot screen , but there's any.
I assumed that the quick way to install TWRP in my phone will be copying the openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-m8.img into a SD CARD (an external one) and then trying to install that file through my phone. Am I right?

You need to be in bootloader fastboot mode, in order to run fastboot commands.

The TWRP webpage only has instruction for doing that with TWRP 2.8.4 or higher; and that's not the case, is it?

And I dont find any option to run commands
Then, when I try to enter to recovery or factory reset , I get ClockWorkMod screen
and I dont any option to do that, either.
As I cannot run commands through my pc , how could I Install TWRP in my HTC and replace the ClockWorkMod ?

He said bootloader fastboot mode .. you're on bootloader hboot mode.
Press power once when on this hboot screen .. can you see the fastboot usb highlighted in red when connect to PC ?
And for your info, Philz recovery is able to restore a TWRP backup.
You just need to put the TWRP backup in correct folder TWRP/BACKUPS/YourPhoneSerialNo./theTWRPbackupFolderHere

Sorry, but could you tell me what file do I need to use to restore TWRP?
The only way I can move files into my phone is by using an sdcard and copy/paste them with AROMA filemanager which comes with Philz
What about your PC device manager ? Do you have MyHTC under Android USB Devices ?
Check your cable, HTC USB Drivers - Download HTC Sync Manager - http://www.htc.com/us/support/software/htc-sync-manager.aspx
Install then uninstall HTC Sync Manager but leave the drivers

Use a card reader to read/write a MicroSD with a PC.
And talking about your software version no. 1.57.598.2, I found someone with your version but unfortunately he was reluctant to upload his backup due to big size of 1.4gb and he didn't have the data quota to upload it. And now I believe he remains at 1.57.598.2 instead of updating it to 4.32.598.1
And there is RUU 0P6BIMG_M8_UL_K44_SENSE60_SECURITY_HTC_LA_AMX_SPA_ 1.57.598.2_R_Radio_1.16.2133156.UA15G_20.18m.4096. 07L_release_378222_signed.zip available at IR-File but now the one that has access to it seems no more active on M8 thread .. very unfortunate.

Now I have installed TWRP on my phone , yeei
And I found a .zip file called OTA-something. It looks like this is the lollipop room which caused all this problem. I tried to installed and then I came up with this:
It seems I messed up my phone with the root.
On the other hand I read in some articles that if I update the firmware, I could use another room. Is that true?
You can't use TWRP to do OTA update. It needs 1.57.598.2 stock ROM and stock recovery installed.
Where did you find that OTA zip ? Can you upload that for me ? I want to see what's inside it then I can give a better suggestion what the firmware update can do for you.
Is your device has a OS installed now ? Is it really that you wiped the OS before ?
Try make a backup with TWRP and see how it goes whether it manage to make backup or not.
