Dynaflo LIQUID-ARMOR INVISIBLE screen protector - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Just wanted to share this, can someone here confirm if they already used this product? I think this will answer the terrible screen protection options for the galaxy nexus. =) Might grab one and try it for myself =)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=JUbt3Y0Lh8M

i am really interested in this product , but i couldn't find any review or a real test

only see unboxings and scratch tests

thats a scratch test

manufacturer video (how to apply and such)
s'all i found anyways
edit: found it on amazon and ordered it. i hate all the options for screen protection atm so why not

I just got some from Amazon too, I'll post back when I get it.

Any first hand reviews (other than those on YouTube) would be great. I have a GhostArmour shield installed right now and I don't mind it so much, but this looks amazing!
I am just a little nervous that this doesn't seem to be removable if I don't like it... which with the GNex screen isn't good at all!

hmmm, this looks really good. I'm gonna go ahead and order some for myself too.

I just ordered an XO skins screen protector. But this looking intriguing! I wonder if I can return it and pickup a bottle of this.
Would love to see more!

Hey guys just did a quick look around online and also found this company making a similar product, the company is Liquid Defender.
http://liquiddefender.com/main.sc

interesting , i am skeptical though.
Ill keep an eye on thread.

Can you post the amazon link plz, seems I'm too dumb to find it
EDIT*** I don't know if I would trust liquid defender... From their website: "but it also featuring the ability to form a protective coating" do they proofread? Also their instructions state to apply the product in a clockwise motion while their video shows them applying it in a counter clockwise motion (why would it matter?)...

i'm interested aswell, ill keep an eye on this thread.

All the videos and directions I saw said do NOT apply in clockwise OR counter-clockwise... Only apply in ONE direction, up to down, down to up, left to right, right to left.... no circles...
I think they might have pushed this to market a little quick and might be getting their PR and documentation a little mixed up.
The emergence of another product with similar performance makes me wonder if we are seeing the next "wet-apply" style revolution. Someone figured out the next best thing and this is the beginning of the new trend

on their website there is a "hard-shield" and a "liquid armor".
both the same?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are the same, the Hard-Shield is apparently the new name they've given for the "Liquid Armor."

yup they are same..pulled this frm their site:
(Note: HARD-SHIELD formal name is LIQUID-ARMOR, HARD-SHIELD packs by clamshell with same formula as LIQUID-ARMOR)

the scratch test uses the same items to scratch a naked GN as in the other youtube videos that say the nexus won't scratch. Key/ screwdriver. so why is this better? How do you replace it?

Can you remove this if it gets scratched?
I want to see them do a real scratch test.
1. Apply the liquid-armor.
2. Scratch it with sandpaper (to simulate sand getting in your pocket or something)
3. Remove it???
4. Show that the screen underneath the liquid-armor has not been scratched.
5. Apply new liquid-armor.
If you cannot remove it after it is scratched, it is worse than an xo-skins or plastic protector, which are removable.

If only I can have the item as fast I can, I can try making a review and test using different kinds of camera lens filters. Can someone post a link from Amazon? I've been searching for it and to no avail =(

Skinomi skins - pictures?

Based on pics they have up on their site of other phones, and watching a couple of their install videos, I'm really interested in the Skinomi skins... they have plenty of pictures up for other models of phones, but no pictures for the Epic 4G Touch:
http://www.skinomi.com/samsungwithin.html
I sent their customer service a message, telling them I am interested but not willing to order completely sight-unseen since I don't know how the skins will be implemented on this particular phone.
Has anyone used these skins before?
Anyone got one of them on their Epic 4G Touch yet?
I'm hoping it'll be similar to this, since these phones are pretty similar form factor:

Edit:
Looks pretty cool in the dark wood too: http://www.skinomi.com/samsung-infuse-4g-dark-wood-skin-protector.html

None of us actually have ours since they lied about them being in stock and then lied again that they shipped out when they didn't. We'll probably get them Monday.

I won't buy Skinomi again after their HP TouchPad crap. Ordered a carbon fiber skin for the back of mine. They sent me a email saying it shipped but didn't actually go out til 3 days later. Then When I get it they for whatever reason added a cut out in the back to expose the nasty HP logo instead of leaving it one piece like pictured. The picture of the skin when I bought it was one piece, a few days later they switched it to the one with the center cutout.
I got mine today and installed it and its great. I had one on my inspire and loved it. It takes about 1 to 2 days for it to settle but when it does its like glass. Ill post pics tomorrow when all the solution drys and the bubbles disappear.

You have a skin, or just a screen protector? I'm curious what the layout is. Guessing still that it's like the Inspire links I posted above.

What does it look like before it settles in? I put mine on about 2 hours ago and some spots on the screen look kind of sparkly. Is this normal? Maybe the solution hasn't dried?

By the way, they're available now for $3.95 plus free shipping on Amazon. I ordered a back up because it's a nice protector and so damn cheap. Figured this may be a pricing gimmick by skinomi, first time buyer. Can't go wrong for 4 bucks shipped. I don't mind the friction and it's application process gets rid of any possible air pockets and the rainbowing seems to be minimal and disappearing. Those are the things i was most concerned about. I'm diggin it.
how long did you guys wait to use the phone after applying the screen protector ??
Just to clarify...
... This thread is about the skins, not the screen protector.
Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't mind hearing how those are either, in fact id like to hear if that's all you got - but mostly want to see if the skins are laid out the same way as in the second post:

Since these seem like a great anti-case solution, I'd love to see any pictures, i don't want to buy blind.
Thanks!
I can tell you that I bought a TPU black matte case and a skinomi screen protector and they both look excellent. I have in the past on various phones used Zagg, Ghost Armor and Best Skinz. Skinomi looks as good or better then the Ghost Armor which is the only other brand I would buy again. There is little to none orange peel effect and the feel of it is almost non-existent. Zagg is the only brand i would never ever buy again. The feel of Zagg is comparable to cover being on the phone vs naked and the look leaves alot to be desired also.
For the price on Amazon for the Skinomi, it is a clear winner (no pun intended) in my book.
Good to know...
I'm not a "case" kind of a guy - i like slim and pocketable - but I do have a tpu case on here right now, and would definitely recommend it. My matte black one looks upscale and fits really well, and it's not too thick really.
I just want that mm or two back.
Any pictures?
I'm trying to upload some pictures but it won't let me it keeps giving me a security error.
Here are a few pictures of the carbon fiber skin and the screen protector.
I'm impressed... I think that looks even better than the Infuse!

You need to give these skins at least 24hrs to settle. 48hrs for sure. Assuming the install went well, you should see all bubbles/sparkles disappear.

Gagdetshieldz for Galaxy Nexus

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a Galaxy Nexus after spending months in front of the screen just stalking the beautiful device and wishing it lands in my hands. I finally ordered it a few weeks back. Now the next step to feed the OCD ridden alter ego was to protect the spectacular HD screen from scratches and dust. I researched a bit more, putting the quality of the film as priority, going through options to come across international brands like Zagg's Invisible Shield and Armorsuit which got great reviews from everyone in terms of clarity and protection. Naturally, they are not available in India (somehow whatever I want is not) and I was about to order it through ebay's global buy for almost double the price of what our western cousins pay when I came across the name Gadgetshieldz. I traipsed on to their site with absolutely no hope that I will be interested in any Indian brand and it'd be just another substandard product. The site had a nice look and feel and I liked the price they were offering (through ebay it is around INR 350 for the Nexus).
I felt the hole in my pocket left after buying a new phone and settled for the cheaper alternative after reading positive reviews on similar forums.
Ebay -

Main store -
GadgetShieldz Clear Cell Phone Covers and Skins | Full-Body Invisible Shields,Screen Protectors
I also Youtube-d for wet screen protection and its application to familiarize myself with the whole process. It involves the use of an already included solution (Zagg) and a Squeegee + lint free cloth (just another name for the cloth you use for cleaning your specs) to take the excess solution out.

3) Review by Mobile guide.
How to install a screen protector perfectly without bubbles or dust! - YouTube
The shipping was fast and through our Indian Postal Service and it reached my hands in the next 2 days. The packaging was nice and secure and I had already learnt that they do not provide any squeegee or solution and you have to arrange that yourself. Now all of this looks like a lot of homework and hassle and most of you would feel to give it a miss. Maybe I am overdoing it a bit here but I think all the effort that goes into this actually adds to the fun and satisfied feeling one gets towards the end.
After going through the instructions for the umpteenth time and reading another review - 1 and 2 I settled for the following.
Final Ingredients :

I was a bit worried about the solution regarding the water and soap ratio to be used. I must inform that all this hardly matters and you can mix 3-4 drop of mild liquid soap (I used Lifebuoy RED) and 600ml of water. Mix it thoroughly till you get a soapy feel when you dip your finger so that the shield can get a little slippery for readjustment.
The squeegee alternative is a simple card and a credit card will also do.Just make sure it is smooth. The lint free cloth is the microfiber cloth used for cleaning spectacles.

The application instructions :
The instructions are crystal clear and I personally feel they make the reader feel a little over cautious. The installation is actually simpler and faster. Well most of the settling down depends on the amount of soap used. In the instructions they ask you to soak the film in the soap solution. I found dipping the entire sheet into the solution better.
NOTE : Keep a track of where the sticky side is There were moments when I forgot where the sticky side lies.
When dipping the film in soap solution, if you allow -
more soap to stay on the film = better repositioning options and realignment. Its like setting the mouse sensitivity. This is high sensitivity and DPI. Also this means extra time for settling down.
less soap to stay on the film = faster sticking and drying up. This is like low sensitivity and DPI. The sheet will be harder to move and realign but would settle very fast and dry up faster. I chose this for the screen side as I didn't like the idea of too much soap and water loitering around my earpiece and front camera.
They are the same instructions and installation tips that are found on the main site.
The package includes a film for every possible exposed part of the device which is great but I only used the films for the screen, battery cover and the exposed part beneath the battery cover around the micro-USB port. I must mention at this point that the cuts of the films are precise and beautiful. The whole film feels sturdy and would give you the confidence that your device is going to stay safe and scratch free.

Cutting the chase here, I could not take the pictures of the phone when it was drying and what I have are the final pictures after 2 days of installation. During the installation and settling down period I was worried seeing a haze on the whole device and some marks that were left behind (I thought them to be fingerprint marks) but the results improved remarkably as time went by and after 4-5 hours the screen looked absolutely clear (and protected of course).
Final Results - Front
I faltered a bit around this area and the finish isn't exactly perfect but I marked it within the "Acceptable Marginal Error" range and proceeded.
The cut is precise and one hardly notices the film.
The screen looks quite clear and the only thing I noticed is the little dust settlement around the edges.
Taken with Brightness set to full.
The slight error in alignment is visible here but that is not to be blamed on the cuts. Just use more solutions and align to your heart's content.
Now there is a certain orange peel effect that is much talked about in case of such shields. I have taken this picture to leave it to the reader if that's the case because I am not well versed in that topic. As far as I can say, the shield is quite smooth.

Final Results - Back
The back cover of the Galaxy Nexus is a bit rough and applying the film there is both easy and a little troublesome. Easy because t doesn't involve working around any sensitive device part and I would advice that you can remove the cover entirely and apply the film. Troublesome because the squeegee doesn't move that freely around that area.
Make sure the film settles down entirely on the back case.
The package also includes film for the area around the camera as is visible.
The shields for every part is absolutely perfect and for this area its almost invisible.
Final words :
Go through the instructions thoroughly especially if its your first time.Keep all the things ready and within reach before starting. The installation is quite easy and intuitive (the links that I have provided are more than enough for getting it right). Also, some would want to settle for the easier alternative and that is a matter of choice. The shield is priced at INR 350 from ebay and one of my friend (who provided the phone to take the pictures - Galaxy S advance) also got a screen guard applied from the seller itself who charged the same amount. Below are the results and I found the Gadgetshieldz finish to be much better.
Galaxy S Advance - Samsung showroom screen guard
Galaxy Nexus - Gadgetshieldz
Another point to mention is that post application I observed a faint chemical odour emanating from the shield itself. I googled it a bit and found out that these shields are chemically treated and this is not something to lose your sleep about. As of on the third day, this odour has subsided and I am guessing it will remain the same I hope the review helps in clearing certain doubts and help my fellow forum members.
Feel free to ask any questions. Requesting more pictures is ok but it depends when I get my hands on another device for taking picture (this one is out of the whole equation now especially after I ended up comparing the finish of its screenguard to mine).
Enjoy!

Great review OP. It's nice to know that they have a new packaging as well. I used to buy their products before and they came in a regular envelop. That's the reason for the low cost. The only reason I have something else now is because I'm testing another product but I still have my set sitting in my drawer. Thanks again.

Much appreciated.Yeah in the video reviews the packaging is different indeed. The shield came enclosed in another envelope, yet the whole package was very slim and sturdy. And yes, the low cost is mostly because they do not include a squeegee and a slolution which I found acceptable as it still manages to do the job quite well.

Planning to get one of these. But it looks like the screen protector covers up the proximity sensor. So, does the proximity sensor work properly? Have you checked it by installing a sensor app like android sensor box.

That is alright. How come you got it for just 1000? Last I checked it was for around 1200+change. The good thing about your purchase would be that you will be getting a solution, squeegee and cloth already included in the package. So I guess you can be happy with that This review can be helpful in the application part. Let me know how it goes (if pictures are possible then that is great!)

I hope not, I really like their protectors; mainly for the back. However they do need to work on the yellowing issue as you mentioned.
Also they just came out with their spartan glass screen protectors. Really hard to say, what's going on but I'm not complaining
Will have to stock up on a few items just in case
Edit: Just went to their page and saw that they now offer lifetime warranty on their protectors, granted most will update at least every 2 years I imagine. So the warranty is kind of pointless; good marketing scheme though. Also looks like they are starting to offer more products overall. So I'm not sure why the low prices, maybe to stay competitive?
EDIT 2: maybe you are right, just reread the email and says "*Limited quantities are available in tempered glass and other accessories by XtremeGuard. These products will only be available while supplies last"

screen protectors - very annoyed

seems like hundreds of screen protectors for V20 on amazon and every single one of them shows some kind of photoshop pictures of the product with not a single picture of actual product let alone the product installed on the phone ...
presumably if you went through the trouble of designing and manufacturing a product you could take a picture of it - no ? teenage girls manage to take dozens of pictures on every trip to the bathroom but a hundred manufacturers combined can't take a single picture ?
what costs more - using computers to generate a fake image of a product or simply snapping a photo of the actual product ?
what's going on ? i'm getting angry. this is not cool.
and you guys on this forum are not much better. hundreds of posts along the lines of " i ordered this one " blah blah NOBODY CARES ! where is the picture of it installed ? and if it is a glass one show the top and bottom edges. one guy was specifically asked to do that so he did - he showed the close up of the edges from an angle where you can't see jack **** ...
what is this conspiracy ? why is everybody trying to be worthless so hard ? be useful for once ! show me ONE GOOD SET OF PICTURES of a single glass protector installed or a single detailed ( not worthless as you like to do ) review of a non-glass protector.
you people with your absolutely worthless feedback are just proving that you DESERVE the garbage products that the crooks are selling you.
step up your game.
Surprisingly, more people are willing to do a favor for you when you don't berate them

Then why don't you step up and bite the bullet. Go out and buy a few screen protectors and install them while posting pictures of the install and the end result. All you are proving is how cheap you are by wanting others to do the work for you. Whats the old saying you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. You could have asked if people could post pics and what protector they have. Ever think of that instead of going on a rant insulting the community?

what costs more - using computers to generate a fake image of a product or simply snapping a photo of the actual product ?
what's going on ? i'm getting angry. this is not cool.
and you guys on this forum are not much better. hundreds of posts along the lines of " i ordered this one " blah blah NOBODY CARES ! where is the picture of it installed ? and if it is a glass one show the top and bottom edges. one guy was specifically asked to do that so he did - he showed the close up of the edges from an angle where you can't see jack **** ...
what is this conspiracy ? why is everybody trying to be worthless so hard ? be useful for once ! show me ONE GOOD SET OF PICTURES of a single glass protector installed or a single detailed ( not worthless as you like to do ) review of a non-glass protector.
you people with your absolutely worthless feedback are just proving that you DESERVE the garbage products that the crooks are selling you.

Wow... Really?
"hey losers! You're stupid and worthless! Now... Go spend your own money and buy something so you can take pictures for for me because I don't want to spend my time or money on it. "
Let us know how that works out for you....

What a ****.
Then don't be a cheap ass and test some of the screen protectors out?
i picked up the V20 today at ATT and had BodyGuardz glass protector installed on it. ATT installed it for me for "free" i put free in quotes because they charged me 40 bucks for the protector. i also had Speck Presidio Clear case installed on it as well. i'll make a YouTube video ... can't post links but i'll tell you how to find it.
EDIT: the youtube video is called "LG V20 - BodyGuardz Glass Screen Protector" by "unapologetic geek"
video description includes link to ATT page for the product ( can't post links here yet )
i would not advise buying this product form ATT to install yourself as there are similar products for about 10 bucks, however if you're going to be getting your phone at ATT having them install it for you is a somewhat better deal because they take the risk that it won't work. in my case they ruined the 1st one but succeeded in installing the 2nd one - i only paid for the one that worked. the reason the 1st one was ruined was that ATT guy didn't know what he was doing - he then got somebody else to install the 2nd one after ruining the 1st.
EDIT: i will say that in person it looks rather funny covering only part of the screen, but for functionality i would rather have it look funny than accept the compromises from other solutions currently on the market such as plastic protectors or glass protectors with adhesive only on the edges.
Bought this 2 pack of Spigen Tempered glass protectors on Amazon and they went on without a hitch. Great feel, clarity, no bubbles or halo.

only thing worthless is your post.

Why? Cause you don't like it? Get over yourself. It's funny as hell.

Toast for LGV20

I just got an email from the guys at Toast that they're offering covers. This is the email. I offer this with no endorsement, I get nothing from this, just passing along information. I don't use these as they are expensive as F**K. But, hey, someone may want them.
Found the actual page to which they have renders. The email was to a "generic" page:
Good spending:

Would love one of these but that price...

It is real wood and something different. Don't think the price is all that bad. I might get it once their custom v20 section works so I can do a custom logo. When I select custom phone and select a v20 it shows an iPhone I believe. Plus it comes with a camera lens cover for people who is afraid of their lens glass cracking. As seems to be an issue.

I do stand corrected as to the issue. You go to the specific phone and it shows the v20. The camera cover is actually included in the price which amazed me. I "may" try this case next payday. If I get one, i'll post pictures and a review.

I've created a custom cover through toast for my old note 4 and I was definitely satisfied in the quality and finish. The install was not difficult at all. I am currently looking to have a custom one created for my current lg v20 once I complete the design.
This is my first post so xda has disabled the ability to leave links. But below are images of my custom skin.

Thanks man, I'm going with the same concept of using a ouija board, but now they have this inlay feature that'll give this sort of 2 tone look that they didn't have before. I'm looking to take advantage of this with some high contrast. I'll post once it's completed.
I bit the bullet and ordered this. They gave me a 10% off code when I put the combination i wanted in my cart and didn't buy right away. Try it, they may send you a code as well. Mine should be here in a week or two. Takes a few days to make apparently.
Yea I think it took a week to get mine, don't remember exactly. But it was well worth it in my opinion. Post pics once you get it in!
I've never heard of Toast but these look great and you can add you initials! They can keep the front panel though, makes it look like a TV from the 1970's.
I love my toast. It's amazing. Careful though once you place the case in place, that's it. It will not come off without force. I'm glad I've stumbled onto this forum and decided to try it. It's awesome! I'll post pics soon!
I'd feel a right twat pulling out my piece of precision machined tech covered in a primitive diy-looking chunk of wood.
But each to their own eh.
Lets cut all the trees in the world (the few left) to power our fancy phones, then what ?
