Ice Cream Sandwich, an easy tutorial - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey. All you need is the ics patch, the ics hdpi cm7 theme, cm7, widget locker, ics keyboard, and adw launcher ex. I also ported the transitions and sounds so i have the full ics experience with the stability of gingerbread.

also look at my about phone in my signature.... pretty neat
some of you are saying that this is not an sgh-t989, but if you right click on a screenshot and hit view image, the dimensions are 480 x 800
also, i have attached the media folder i use (goes in system and replaces the current system/media) it has the boot animation setup for our device (400 x 800) and all of the ice cream sandwich sounds. Just unzip the file and push it to system or put it in a rom. REMEMBER TO DELETE THE EXISTING MEDIA FOLDER FIRST!!!!

HOw Did You Port The Sounds And Transitions?

I had to combine the transitions with the status bar mod in framework-res.apk... the sounds were put in a rom I'm working on.... its built from the cm7 source but has ics every thing accept firmware (for stability and simplicity purposes)
Here is a great thread to get your phone looking like ics easily.... I did some of this and figured the rest out on my own

How did you get the folders to stack the apps on each other? Is that ADW? I use Go Launcher and I can't find a theme that will stack them like that.

I use the ICS theme for Go Launcher, and it stacks the apps in one folder if that's what you're talking about.

No, I am talking about the way it stacks in the pictures from the first post. The way ICS does.

where can we get this (((Hey. All you need is the ics patch, the ics hdpi cm7 theme, cm7, widget locker, ics keyboard, and adw launcher ex){{im using currently}})).......if using MACNUT? or the updated Juggernaut 5.0? Thanks

I love this look! How do I get this on my phone? Any help will be appreciated.

[Q] CM7 Gingerbread Theme

Is there any Gingerbread theme for CM7? Thanks!
You serious?
Sent from your mom's phone
Hahahahaha
I'll just assume you mean any ALTERNATIVE themes for cm7.
Since rc0 build 10 there is a theme manager app (in the app drawer) with 2 themes.
Theme only other theme right now is darkginger, which is awesome, and what I have run for a long time (previously darkfroyo).

I had issues with my browser force closing while using darkginger on CM7 v10. No issues without the theme. I assume it has something to do with darkginger being in alpha.

best reply yet ! trainwreck!
i now this thread is old but i think i am the only one that has the same problem as the thread starter. it somethin abaut ADW. The default dock in CM7 is a Froyo Dock with Gingerbread Icons. Compare it with the REAL Gingerbread Launcher and then with the Froyo Launcher, you will see its Froyo. If you change the Theme with Theme Choser to Cyanbread, the dock looks like in the Gingerbread Launcher. But the Icons are Cyan then and some Peaple do not like that. that the reason why there is a Gingerbread Theme needed.
See the differenz:
Froyo:

Gingerbread:
There is one more Thing. Do you See the Phone icon near the Dock? it is different. Also the App Drawer Icon. This Problem Stays with Cyanbread.
What we need is a Theme that makes CM7 Look like Gingerbread without coloring the icons Cyan.

Android is all about choice, and we can have touchwiz / sense or even motoblur even if we want to.... this is becos we CAN!
Cool! Was the best launcher! Will try to see how will work on GN! Tx for porting this!
Awesome work I really hope you continue working on this and maybe have someone cook up a theme. Ive been working on one but I have almost to time. Only things I have noticed is that I cannot set anything but screen number one as my home and it makes some of my wallpapers look bad. And if you change the wallpaper the launcher disappears. You have to switch to a different launcher change wallpaper then move back.
This is a nice launcher. Thanks a lot. I can't seem to resize the Widgets... maybe I did something wrong?
Nice work. Gonna bookmark this and give it a try with my next flash.

This is a themed qqlauncher... cannot port the launcher without Modding the framework because of XML ties as well as how deep Samsung has built their UI into android. Very much so like sense.
Aside from that, it looks aight. Like an non-translated miui launcher.

Eh. Looks sweet. Enough of the nah Sayers. If your not interested then why even open the thread?
Anyway, I'll try it. I like choices and launchers to exercise my boredom.
Looks really good. I just extracted the APK from the flash file and installed manually instead of flashing. Pretty neat and smooth transitions.
I don't know how customizable it is yet, which will determine if it stays. But it will probably make rotation.

As a former user of GSII I can confirm that this is a true tw launcher from leaked ics firmware . This seems to be a poor attempt at humor to me. Honestly man if you think you can do better than what we have then lets see. Otherwise I think the devs are doing a great job entertaining us with various roms until ics source is out.
Wont matter if its the same as every other rom or different then every other rom, it wont make someone happy and they will be sure to come and tell you about it, rather then just move on to something else. True story.
That's right, KB, seems to be what a small but very vocal group of people 'round here do; this guy's attempt at venting his frustration through "humor" is not productive.

[APP][LAUNCHER]MIUI Launcher

MIUI have released their launcher onto Google Play. Its compatible with any rom > 2.3. You don't need to have MIUI.

It has MiLocker built in.

Motorola Launcher with Circle 3D Widget

http://d-h.st/rmU
I extracted Motorola Launcher and Circle 3D Widget from Atrix HD stock ROM and modified these APKs a little bit to make them work on Galaxy Nexus.
How to install:
+ Extract zip file -> "system" folder -> open "system" folder -> 2 folders "app" and "lib"
+ Homescreen.apk, CircleWidget3D.apk, and Weather.apk in "app folder"
+ libnative_renderer.so and libtexture_mem.so in "lib" folder
+ Copy all files above into your SD card
+ Using Root Explorer to copy them to /system/app and /system/lib. Set permissions and reboot.
Everything works perfectly.
