Desire HD 2.3.5 rooted via htc super tool v3 but can't s-of plz plz Plz plz help. - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know this question been asked alot but my problem is different so plz reply and help me.I had unlocked the boot loader of htc desire had 2.3.5 and then rooted it through htc super tool v3 but now I can't s-off , I tried downgrading using advance ace hack kit but it also fails with bootloader saying no image or wrong image.I used desire had easy radio off tool but that also gives error "probably lost connection"
Plz plz plz help I have been searching for many days but couldn't find any solution so plz help.
Thanks in advance..

Its because you unlocked it using the HTC Dev tool. What youbneed to do is relock it and try the hack kit again

But cant i s-off without downgrading, because before unlocking bootloader and rooting i had tried advance ace hack kit, it downgraded my mobile successfully, but after that my mobile and aahk got stuck at "downgrading radio" or something like that. And cant i flash custom rom without s-off, because some where i read that a guy named pierre_ja helped some one in flashing custom recovery and custom rom, plz if u can help me in the same i will be very thankful to you..

You asked to soff, and you can't unless you use the hack kitBUT you can flash a custom rom with unlocked bootloader, those are two different thing. I personally advice against using the HTC tool, and recommend the hack kit. You need to figure out why it went wrong. Bit anywho. If you are adament on sticking with the unlocked bootloader this is what you need to do.
1) download a recovery of your choice and name it recovery.
2) download a rom of your choice(place one copy in your SD and leave another somewhere else)
3) boot into hboot and select fastboot
4) move the recovery image to where you have the fastboot and adb files
5) open a command prompt CD to your adb folder
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot reboot
6)noe go back into hboot and select recovery to Confirm its Installed. If so reboot to bootloader and select fastboot again
7In the rom zip you downloaded extract the boot image and place in your adb folder
8) type in the command
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
8)now select recovery and in cwr do a full wipe and install your rom

thanks for the help..really appreciate..going to go with aahk as you said..thanks again

[Q] Downgrade hboot 1.02.0000??

Any chance to do that? I`m stuck in custom rom and no chance to flash any of stock ROM`s because of hoot version... Same thing with fastboot.. No chance to flash hoot .nb0 from fast boot.. Thanks in advance
Have you tried using revolutionary?
Or the HTCdev Unlock Tool?
Yes, revolutionary does not support this version of hoot...
And boot loader is unlocked by htcdev site, but that is a problem now for me..
Do you have clockworkmod recovery?
Yes, CWM flashed from fastboot? Is there a way to flash hboot from CWM or..?
What happens when you try flashing a rom from CWM or wiping?
Signature error if i try rom with hboot.img in .zip... I only could flash a rom without hboot.. But my aim is to downgrade hboot...
You can't just flash any .zip file randomly. Especially if it's something as sensitive as the bootloader.
And try flashing a rom in CWM, you might not need to downgrade.
Naturally, I understand that and I understand well how should i have flash.. When i wrote zip rom without hboot i meant Buzz_Froyo_hTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_SAFE_FLASH_ZIP...
I want to downgrade hboot version to be able to use revolutionary instead of htcdev unlocked boot loader, understand me? Mentioned Froyo ROM does`t have hboot image in archive, and that`s why is safe...
I'm not sure if the HTCDev bootloader can even be unlocked.
But don't take my word for it...
I just hope you're wrong.. I hope that team mate from revolutionary have some idea in the future days...
Actualy, after looking at the RUU you were trying to flash. It's "safe". You could try using a "non-safe" one.

Are you trying to flash an ruu Rom.zip from recovery?

@nejc121
Give me the link of "non-safe" to try?
@Scratch0805
Yes, i tried just that, but with no luck...
It can't be done like that, I think the images need unpacking first, if you look inside a custom Rom and compare it to your Rom.zip you'll see the difference.
I don't think you can use PC49IMG after unlocking with HTC dev either so your only option is fastboot and after I read the warning about not going back after using the tool it wouldn't surprise me if they locked it so it can't be flashed with fastboot either.

Every section of Stock ROM i could flash with fastboot, except hboot which is my highest goal... You are right, i can`t use PC49IMG.zip anymore...

Hi guys,
first of all... forgive my english.
Please help me to get S-OFF on my buzz with hboot 1.02.0000 UNLOCKED (Unlocked by HTC DEV SITE guide)
I've got CWM on my wildfire, and used gingerbreak to get superuser privileges, but CWM recovery mode doesen't work anyway, when i try to boot my buzz in CWM Recovery Mode, appears a RED Triangle with an "!" and I can't do anything but if i press Vol UP and Power Button, appears a menu with:
- reboot
- update with update.zip
- wipe cache
- wipe data factory/cache
I've tried all of these options, but it doesen't work.
I've tried with revolutionary, but it doesen't work, when i start the .exe file, it says
"buzz, with hboot 1.02.0000 is not supported at this time"
I think my issue is because of I didn't get S-OFF on Hboot 1.02.0000 .

when the bootloader is unlocked using the HTCdev method ,there is no s-off required.. BTW try flashing the cwm recovery again using the fastboot method becoz the options you mentioned seem incomplete..maybe after doing this you may get "install zip from sd" option in cwm recovery so that you can flash custom roms..
Alternative: You can rename the custom rom to update.zip and put directly on sd (not in any folder) and choose "update with update.zip" option which you already have in cwm recovery.

hi
I tried to root a HTC Desire HD device
1. Unlocked via HTCdev
2. Installed custom recovery - clockworkmod 5.8.1.5
3. Tried to flash miui 6.1
now the device is stuck on boot ( htc logo)
I tried all the RUU files i could get, nothing works, error 191, 140,155
I created a gold card.
When i insert the empty gold card and reboot the phone, it remains stuck on SD checking
Loading PD98DIAG.zip
any ideas
i managed to get the goldcard working.
Still can't flash, some message about version is older.
Tried different roms.
The RUU exe still throws 191 error.
any ideas
Have you tried running the RUU when the device is in fastboot mode? That worked for me once when I thought I'd bricked it.
tried that.
error 191.
i need something newer that 3.13.0.0 i think
I'm starting to sound like a broken record. If you used the HTC unlock method you have to flash your boot img separately.

That doesn't sound like works on all builds and versions.
It does not work on the mentioned version 3.12.405.1
I have the same situation. But within a couple of months my phone contract will end and I will extend this with a new phone. At that moment I will try to install some custom ROMS on my Desire HD. So first downgrade to 2.50.405.2, get root and S-Off (which I by the way already have (Ship S-off to be precise))
And than install ClockWorkMod and install custom rom.
I tried to install CWM from fastboot but did not manage to successfully complete this. I think because I have Ship S-Off and not ENG S-Off.

AAHK has supported 3.12.40.5.1 since version AAHK 10122011, It does not and will not support HTC dev unlocked devices. Although version 3.12.40.5.1 does need downgrading, this step is carried out by AAHK. AAHK is by far the safest and easiest method of obtaining root IMHO.

umm...it seems that u need to give a look at the manual again. All builds 3.x are not directly rootable, so you need to downgrade. The Hack Kit prompts you about that, and do it in case you are willing to.
Just one tip, if you install ENG S-OFF you will mess your bootloader...so, I would check the manual and the hack kit thread just see what you not supposed to do..

Yes it does, but a downgrade is needed first. The hack kit automates it all as much as possible, even the initial downgrade.
The bootloader MUST be relocked and the the ROM stock.

Hello,
I tried to flash MoKee Rom yesterday, I downloaded the file from their website but on the screen it told me that there was an error because the rom wasn't for my Desire HD. Tried downloading twice and flash it again and same error appears. So I tried to install Cyanogenmod 11. Everything seems to be ok but when I reboot the phone it doesen't move from the white screen with HTC written on it. What can I do? I did everythime all the wipes needed (cache, dalvick, system). I've unlocked the bootloader with Windroid Tool and installed TWRP recovery with it.
I can get into fastboot and recovery mode. When I get into fastboot I have the following details:

HBOOT-2.00.0029
MICROP-0438

Can I root my phone with Ace Hack Kit with S-OFF?

Hey guys,
I did a research on the web but I didn't succeed to find the answer, so here I am.
So recently I've bought my HTC Desire HD and it turns out to have S-OFF (as it shows on HBoot) but no root and a stock Rom. Here's the information:
Software number: 3.12.405.1
Kernel number: 2.6.35.10
Android version: 2.3.5
Sense: 3.0
So my question is: In Advanced Ace Hack Kit post I saw that it is not recommended to root the phone with provided software in case I already have S-OFF, but as I googled how to get my S-ON back I didn't manage to find anything useful. Should I continue with the kit then, or do you have any ideas how to get S-ON back again?

If you are already S-OFF there is no need to use the Hack Kit. If you want to flash a custom rom just flash a custom recovery and then the custom rom. If you just want root access then just flash Superuser from CWM from here: http://androidsu.com/superuser/
You will find answers and how to's in the guide in my signature. Hope it helps...:good:
Thanks for such fast reply! Unfortunately, I can't get to flash a custom recovery... By following some instructions, after writing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" using ADB, I get this error:
FAILED(remote: not allowed)
Now, is it possible that my S-OFF actually does not exist, even though that HBOOT says different? If so, what should I do? Or is that a different problem?
Thanks in advance,
Rugile.
Try
adb devices
If it doesn't show then perhaps you need to install the htc sync/drivers. Go to glevitans signature. You'll find everything you need there.

You have to be in fastboot usb in order to flash a Custom recovery. It won´t work from hboot usb Plug. Choose Fastboot (by pressing power button) and when you see fastboot usb in red in the phone try flashing it again.
when you are in fastboot, type fastboot devices in the cmd session (opened as admin) if you get a blank list of attached devices then is a drivers issue. Unplug the phone, uninstall all the HTC stuff and re install the htc drivers from the Hack Kit folder (tools>windrivers)
You guys missed a key sign. Remote not allowed. That's a sign that he doesn't have an eng hboot or the modified one from the hack kit.
So op you have a few options
Flash super user and binary then use from manager or 4ext to flash a recovery.
Flash a recovery via a pd98.
Use hack kit optional menu to get modified hboot then flash manually as you tried
Use hack kit optional menu to flash cwr

Yes, you are right..but he woud not be able to flash the .img file (fastboot flash recovery xx.img) but he should be able to flash the .zip file using the RUU flash method (fastboot oem rebootRUU - fastboot flash zip CWM.zip - fastboot reboot-bootloader). At least that is the way how it is detailed in the guide in my signature. :good:
Thank you for your answers!
So yesterday I found out that there's such thing as fake S-OFF, so I tried some method I found on XDA-DEVELOPERS to receive a real one, but then it turned out I needed a downgrade... I didn't succeed in that, so today, as you suggested, I'm going to try gain S-OFF with Ace Hack Kit.
I'll let you know what happens, in case anyone else faces such problem too.
Cheers,
Rugile
Woah woah woah. You need to stop right there. Do not run the root soff option on your phone from the hack kit.
Your making it more complicated than it actually is. Glevitan and I have given you all the options you need to.
*she
OK, so now I used the Advanced Ace Hack Kit to gain ENG HBOOT and it worked! So then I flashed a custom recovery, and, how surprizing, it worked too! Next, I booted into recovery in order to flash Superuser, and it also succeeded!
BTW, the CWM flashing menu is very confusing, I didn't even get to find the YES option at first
Thank you for your help alot, guys! I finally defeated my phone, even though it resisted very hard!

With S-ON you can't flash a radio as your nand partition security is still on even with an unlocked bootloader. Try flashing a ruu to get to normal state and then re try what you were trying to do. Besides, do not use the Hack Kit but the new version AAHK2 to be found in the general section of the forum.

If you want to make it rooted, but s-on, flash clockworkmod recovery into your device by fastboot, then put your downloaded ROM.zip into main directory of sd card, and go to recovery do full wipe, dont forget to go advanced and wipe dalvik and battery status, then install from zip. Reboot after complete again into fastboot open cmd and dive to directory where you extracted boot.img from ROM.zip and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and "fastboot reboot". If you need more help pm
I've software number 3.12.405.2 - btw. this number is very rare..
so I must flash RUU on the hboot?
maybe i must flash into the recovery? - what software i need?
How do I download ruu ?
Lol uncle google doesn't help or I don't know how to find it.

Okey, I fix it..
I turn on fastboot mode and aah 2 I flash radio for eeu - this fix radio.
Next I lounched normal aahk and all is ok.

I have a problem with my htc and i was wondering if i could get some help please.
I unlocked the bootloader of my HTC WFS and installed twrp i installed a costume rom based on android 2.5.7 (alquez and it worked fine
but now whenever i turn on my phone it would stay on the white htc screen and even when i try recovery NOTHING
my HTC WFS is S-ON (GSM) PG7610
PS: I tried every tip i could find on XDA DEVELOPERS like
*GOLD CARD
*flash rom with RUU while phone is on FASTBOOT mode
*and since my phone is S-on i cant wipe the system via FASTBOOT
*i tried DIAG files but that only works for (CDMA) phones
*cant use ADB since phone wont boot
ANY THOUGHTS?
THANK YOU.

Hey pal first off, this is the wrong forum. This is the old wildfire forums not the wildfire s. But I shall help you out none the less
Since your phone is hboot unlocked but not s-off you need to flash your custom roms boot.img via fastboot just after you flash the rom via recovery. When you download the rom it comes in a zip file, unzip a copy of it and place the boot.img in your fastboot folder, then copy the zip to your sd card and then flash via recovery. Once it's flashed boot into hboot by using advanced reboot options I think its called. Then flash the boot.img using the command
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Where boot.img is the name of the .img you took from the zip file (just in case you have renamed it and don't know why the command is not working)
Then do fastboot reboot and the phone should boot up okay. You need to flash the boot.img for every rom change that you do. Also should you decide you want to run a RUU you must relock you hboot or it won't run.

HI.
firste off i would like to thank you for taking the time to responde to my question and im sorry about posting in the wrong forum.
i watched the XDA DEV noob video on youtube about being a noob so before i posted my question i looked through each and every post i could find about my phone s problem but NO LUCK so i decided to ask the experts
*i did relock my bootloader before i ran the Ruu and it didnt work it said main version too old and since my costume rom is based on andoird 2.3.7 and my htc can only go as far as 2.3.5 and ruu wont let you downgrade so i figured it might not work.
*now you suggested that i flash the costume rom via recovery and thats the problem i cant even get in to my recovery it just gets stuck on the white htc screen and i tried flashing the recovery Again (twrp) and nothing. even other recoveries wouldnt work.
*i flashed about 4 roms and they all worked just fine even this last one and i didnt flash the boot.img and i was able to reboot normally
THANK YOU.

Okay so, let's recap.
You are on a custom android rom.
You have a custom recovery installed.
Your cannot flash the RUU as your run version is higher than the RUU.
Lastly you cannot boot into your custom Rom, or your recovery?
Do you want to return to stick it get a custom Rom flashed?

Q: if i flash a system via fastboot successfully will it automaticly erase the old one because i tried to erase it but it said remot controle not allowed (S-on)
ok, ive requested this thread be moved to its correct forum.
before proceeding can you tell me when your htc wildfire marvel was made? after 2012?
can you flash clockworkmod recovery and then try flashing a custom htc sense rom
Then reboot back into cwm recovery (by selecting advanced/ reboot-recovery in the menus) and plug the phone into your computer via usb cable. open up your command prompt and move to your adb folder. type the following commands ( a # denotes instructions and should not be typed into the command window)
Code:
adb devices
#this should show your device up, maybe saying its in recovery mode
adb shell
# the command prompt should change to a # symbol
Now make sure you have a sdcard in the phone and then run the following command
Code:
cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 > /sdcard/misc.img
This should leave you with a file called misc.img on your sdcard. Lastly
Code:
exit
exit
exit
your command window should have closed. now upload this file to a online storage system like dropbox and send me a pm with a link to it. I will edit it and you can flash it back, this will relock your hboot and downgrade your software version so that RUU's will work. then we will run a RUU, returning your phone to stock and functional state

Hmm.... Okay reflash twrp and see if it boots up. Without a recovery your options are limited. You need to be careful as your device uses a different kernel from older versions of the wildfire s. If you flash a older RUU version it will kill your phone.
Do you have any phone unlock shops near you?

Make sure when you go to the unlock shop you make sure they use an XTC clip http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/Unlocking/xtc_clip.htm
If they don't have it then do not pay for an unlock. You need s-off not SIM unlocked. Make sure to ask for it. Once your S-off you can run any RUU and fix the phone but check in here first so I can ensure that its compatible with your 2012 edition of the phone ( as I said flashing one that is too old will kill the phone!)
