E30HT rom for English

I am stationed in Japan and I have been with AU Kddi for approximately 4yrs now. When I heard the announce that they would finally carry a "smart" phone I was excited. I went in and purchased the E30HT if I am not mistaken it is similar to the HTC Touch Pro in the states. My problem is this: Most of the options are in Japanese. I am not familar enough with the language to take advantage of all the phone's features. Is there a way to convert the OS to English or is it a rom or procedure out to convert the phone to English. I appreciate all help given.

Guys our friend has my same problem.
After replacing the screen (only digitalizer) the phone has lost sensitivity in the far right. At these points is impossible to write or bet something.
why this comportament? Is possible that screen are bad mounting?
Any advice or help will be of great satisfaction. Thank

I have an idea.

I really love this forum, and I'm not a dev, so I really want to help out/be useful.
I've seen a translation thread and me being trilingual, I felt kinda obligated to help since that was for something I will be using personally. I successfully translated the app to 2 different languages and it was pretty nice.
I think an official translation request thread would be nice, since I love translating and I'm a fluent speaker of 3 languages, and I can't use the search function since it might be inaccurate.
I hope you would take this thread into consideration

Android 3.0 or 4.0 ROMs Issue

Dear Engineers,
Kindly, I have one question regarding to install Android 3.0 or 4.0 as an official one in the "Samsung Galaxy W" device without "Flashing" it because as you know that the current Android is 2.3.5.
Hence, Recently I've already upgraded the "Firmware" of the device.
I hope one of you to provide me a good explanation for my issue, and I will be grateful to you.
Thanks.

Mulham Darwish

First of all. This question should be in general/ discussion thread.
Second . They aren't engineer. They are developers.
Samsung will never give Android 3.0 or 4.0 officially for galaxy w. So forget it for updating officially.
And seriously... your last paragraph looks like we have done something wrong and we have to apologize or explain to you.
So if you want android 4.0. Use cm9 or other cm9 based rom. But there isnt any Android 3.0 rom for galaxy w.
Your firmware upgrade is. Upgrading from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6. As I said. Samsung is never gonna give us Android 4.0 officially.
Btw. This isn't an issue. You have no big deals with this. So just name it question.

i think he / she already using translate...
wrong section dude
Hmmmmm......
seriously folks, I think ppl here should give some/a lot of latitude to posters whose first language is not English.
I think Mulham was trying to be as respectful as he could be, but these translate engines seldom get it fully correct, and perhaps we should bear this in mind when replying.
Just to attempt an answer Mulham, there will never be an "official" upgrade to Android 3.x.......
this was designed by Google as a Tablet operating system, and has been surpassed by both 4.0.x [Ice Cream Sandwich] and more latterly by 4.1.x [Jelly Bean].......
However, because this device is quite capable of running 4.0.x, and probably 4.1.x, there are Custom ICS ROM's in development, notably arco68's CM9, which is actively being developed, and now at Alpha [Build 7]....
there are other CM 9 ROM's, most are based on arco's build, but give a differerent flavoured ICS, use the search or browse in the development section!!!
Of course, CyanogenMod is built from the ground up, from sources, and will have no provider bloat, as you will always see in ROM's from Samsung and their Service Provider partners, so you will have a much better user experience of "pure" Android.......as it was meant to be!!!
There is also just a sniff of CM10......4.1.x [Jelly Bean] here....but far too early to attempt anything yet, let's just wait and see!!!
Unfortunately Mulham, flashing with ClockworkMod Recovery will be the only way to experience these new varieties on our device, as per Samsungs decision to deny ICS for the Galaxy W [GT-i8150].....
a decision which has convinced me personally never to buy Samsung again.....
But, I will enjoy the what our dedicated Dev's produce to show what could have been, if Samsung really cared for it's customers, and not just their Corporate Bottom Line......
Hope you find this answer to be informative!!!
Respect!!

My first language is not English but in fairness to the translate engines, they are much useful especially if you know you're own language well. The translate engine will do the rest for you. You just need to compose yours well.
Prior to XDA rules number 3,
Post only using a clear subject and message.

We cannot help that much if the message or inquiry being asked in somewhat vague to other members.

This of course is true my friend, I was merely asking for a little understanding for those, generally new users, who want help, but are unable to ask in their first language!!
I hope you understand my point.
BTW....I wasn't referring to your post at all, by the way, I would have quoted it if I was.....
We have a saying in my country...I think other countries also!!
Rules were made to be broken.....
I of course am not advocating this at all, but I am making a plea for a little latitude....
A good test of Google Translate is to input something in your first language, have it translated to another language, and then re-translate the output to your first language again, and see just how meanings can change!!
For example, your statement:
My first language is not English but in fairness to the translate engines, they are much useful especially if you know you're own language well. The translate engine will do the rest for you. You just need to compose yours well.

becomes this:
Language English translation engines are very well first. The rest of the translation engine is done for you. Just need to create.

Or try this trick:

How does Google know about this?
Open Google Translate.
In the Translate box, type: Will Justin Bieber ever hit puberty
Set translation from English to Vietnamese.
Now, Copy and paste the Vietnamese words and translate them from Vietnamese to English.

I think you're being offensive already man. Why still ask "wheres the point again". And for new users, they'll need all the help they can get, and I think that's exactly what IP is doing. And good job, taking your words back and apologizing the minute you knew you're being mean.

Man, I take no offence whatsoever, you can be assured
I acknowledge your input :good:
And, just to be clear, my first language is English!!!!
But I am a proud Irishman, and I am also familiar with the ancient language of my Nation, Gaeilge, [AKA Gaelic]....
we have been speaking and writing in this Celtic language for Centuries, in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall, and the Isle of Man.
There is a long history in my Country whereby the ancient language was repressed by the ruling power, which of course is our near and much bigger Country, Great Britain.
This has also been the experience of other cultural minorities where bigger powers ruled, as in USSR, Spain, Latin America, and other countries....which is also why I am sad to see posters being "beaten up" figuratively speaking of course, for not using proper English, when they are expressing themselves as well as they can, respectfully.
We know that the language of the Internet is English, generally speaking, and most fora like this insist on ppl using English, but it should also be acknowledged that there are many languages.
There is, unfortunately, a US/Anglo Cultural Imperialism, which will see the diverse languages of the World eventually go the way of my native tongue, which is now only spoken in remote areas of my country.......
This, in my opinion, is not a good thing......end of lecture!!!

you can look at the "Galaxy W I8150 Android Development" section, thread titles are descriptive and must look at them first to decide what to try.
First of all, have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653907
Learn the basics first such as rooting, all the modes, etc
After that learn CWM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846449
Look around for other needed knowledges (depends on individual)
Lastly, choose your desired Android 4.0 ROM, there a a few of them at this moment:
