I rooted my 250GB 80 with this method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480906
I used the original file though, not the 350MB one (original in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477667)

batery life

Hi, how its your average batery life?
I have never really run any tests for it, but i've left the tablet alone for a few days, just sometimes checking for Firmware updates, and it barely lost 30% (maybe less, can't recall).
with no live wallpapers on mine lasts a few days with moderate use (checking email, rss, news, maybe playing a couple games)
Well i got the Archos 80 G9 250 gb version and mine lasted for 4.5 hours of continuous video playing , screen brightness on 50 % . The problem is that even in deep sleep it looses battery . How can it last for a couple of days i can't understand , any hint ?
I have the flash version, maybe that would make a difference. Check the wifi sleep policy, and make sure it turns off during sleep. Also, I keep bluetooth and gps off. perhaps try that?
I have the basic 80 g9 and for just using it the evenings it will be happy to last for 4/5 days with email, twitter simple games etc. When I've travelled with it in 3 hours of video playback I lose about 50% with no connections such as WiFi or 3g.

In the meantime you close the tablet or put it on deep sleep ?
I just hit the power button and leave it. Like I say don't think I've messed with the deep slept setting but can look for ya later if you want.

Well actually i didn't checked that but i have the impression that mine looses a lot of battery in suspend mode .... I always shut it down and even like this when i start it again its not the same as it was .... maybe the actual starting process uses a lot of power don't know
Could be a rogue app. My phone was like that for ages and it was getjar nit letting the phone sleep properly. Try better battery stats or something similar to see if a service is causing partial or kernel weaklocks too frequently

The 80G9 1.5 GHz turbo I just started using is to new for me to get an idea of run time, so far about 8 hours of mixed use, on my 8gb classic would go between 5.5 to 9 hours depending on use, in deep sleep non use, it would go for days at least
What works for me, on best battery management, I like to put into deep sleep every time I put tablet down and plan not to use for a few minutes or more (this turns of Wi-Fi, screen, and stops mosts things from running) it always wakes up with a quick power press and Wi-Fi connects within a few seconds
I use normal sleep (same as when it times out I think) for quick pauses in use.
normal sleep for when not using but charging if I want to hear notifications for email, Color Note, Evernote etc. (Wi-Fi on)
If I want the quickest charge, (not using, overnight etc.) and I don't care about notifications (Wi-Fi off) I use deep sleep. edit, to be clear on notifications, my Color Note notifications work while in deep sleep
Turn off for longer periods not being charged/ used
You can set when Wi-Fi disconnects by going to:
settings, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi disconnect policy (I have mine on never for now)
*and of course, use the correct cable and charger!

Phone not sleeping with torch on

I've noticed recently that when using the torch on my phone the phone doesn't go to sleep, in fact it keeps running at 400MHz. It definitely didn't used to do this because I could leave it on for hours andit would hardly drain the battery. Now it shoots ddown.
Any ideas why? I'm using Omega 9.1 with Redpill, whatever the latest is. The same happens with the status bar control or tesla led.
Any ideas about this? Strange that turning the torch on makes the phone stay at 400MHz. Also when using the status bar Assist Light function the UI crashes if auto rotate is on and the phone turns.
Well it's not the Redpill kernel. I just flashed Perseus and it's the same. Seems it's stuck at 200, not 400 like I thought earlier. I might try the newest Omega to see if that helps.
It might not sleep (which imo sounds normal since it has a task going on)
But leaving your flash on for hours cannot be good for it.

I'm fairly sure it didn't before but I might be wrong. I noticed my phone warming up while using it in work during the week (when the electric was off) which it definitely didn't do before.
Can't see any reason why it would be bad. Plenty of LED torches out there, it'll just use up the battery a bit.
No it's not bad. Even if the flash goes out for excessive usage it's pretty cheap to replace. But the device shouldn't go to deep sleep, it's not only a torch, it's an app running, that's why it could never go to deep sleep, normal.

Fair enough. I may have been getting mixed up with the FM radio. That deep sleeps unless radio information is turned on. And I was using the torch at the same time so may have got mixed up possibly.

No deep sleep?

Is it normal for this phone not to deep sleep? I installed CPU spy and it shows that it always stays at 300mhz when the phone is idling. I have all apps closed in the recent apps tray and my phone is stock. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks
I've been wondering the same thing... battery seems fine and none of my apps or keeping the device away, so I'm assuming it's the whole dt2w feature they have on it. Plus, they mention a "sleep mode" on the HTC website, so maybe they got their own thing or something...
Any info would be nice.
EDIT: Apparently, while charging the device, it will rarely go into deep sleep mode. After I took it off the charger, it was going into deep sleep exactly like it should.

Fix standby battery drain issue on Moto g5 plus.

I saw some complaints about abnormal battery drain on g5 plus(especially during standby; overnight drop) in forums and somewhere here in XDA too,
I found a fix here :
http://googleweblight.in/?lite_url=...le-doze-to-extend-battery-life-of-your-phone/
It basically forces the Doze mode irrespective of its current state so that you can be sure that Doze is activated.
This should help fix the standby battery drain issues since Doze is activated when the phone becomes idle (battery drop during standby indicates it's not being activated).
My phone doesn't have the issue, so I can't tell the difference or whether this works for our device. If your phone has the issue, try it and let us know the result.
Hope it helps.
I've never heard of any issue with standby. Phone works perfectly fine for me. And that's not a fix, that's a bandaid. Please stop spreading misinformation.
Works well with my device
If your phone isn't entering deep sleep and you are running a custom ROM, you need to delete the nfcnci.apk

This
will this method will void my warranty?
Mine is stock but standby is erratic, some nights it can lose 20% and never sleep, other nights 3% and never awake, no pattern to it whatsoever.

Make sure there aren't any apps installed preventing it from sleeping. I noticed the "MyRadar" app will not let my phone sleep if I don't swipe it away after using it. Been this way for some time now, at least 6 months. Happened with it on my Nexus 5 as well. I still use this app daily but I just make sure it's blocked from running in the background in case I forget to swipe it away. Use greenify with root permissions or another root app such as this. Click the OP, then scroll to the bottom for the download link. Keep blocking apps until you find the app preventing deep sleep. It should deep sleep within about a minute of hitting the power button to lock the screen. I use CPU spy plus - free to check deep sleep status. I've also noticed when streaming to Chromecast with apps such as Hulu or Netflix, they prevent deep sleep as well.

You have to be rooted, and use a root file browser to delete nfcnci.apk. It's either located in /system/app or /system/priv-app. Then reboot. If you are sure you are rooted and the file browser refuses to delete the file, try a different one. For whatever reason I've noticed that some of them don't work with root, even if they say they do and even if you grant it root permissions.

Thanks. I've been out of the root/rom/unlocking game for a bit. Worked great with Solid Explorer. Did a search for that apk in the app and boom, deleted. :good: Needed a reboot to take full effect though.
on my case, is the carrier signal, is changing a lot and causes drain, because the phone never is 'awake'. So in my case... there is no fix, is the carrier
You can turn off doze manually... I had bad battery drain, but discovered that the anonymous information being sent to Motorola was what caused it. This is turned on by default, so go in and disable, and you'll double your standby time..
I'm at 5 hours screen on time with 51% still remaining with 24 hours since unplugged right now.
doze
when i try this doze enabling method i get access denied .

General Known issues/bugs that prevent deep sleep

Since I already made several posts / topics regarding issues on my phone with deep sleep, I was able track down different issues and scenarios which prevented the phone from going into deep sleep.

ProxyHandler gets stuck after a reboot
Link: https://support.google.com/pixelpho...oxycontroller-wakelock-draining-battery?hl=en
Basically every now and then the "ProxyHandler" will get stuck after a reboot and prevent the phone from ever going into deep sleep.
Fix:
To temporarily fix this go into airplane mode and reboot again. Disable airplane mode after the reboot and use your phone until the next reboot
When the screen gets stuck at 60Hz
I wasn't able to figure out which service is keeping the device awake.
But I did track down that the 60Hz stuck-issue is also prevent the phone to going into deep sleep.
Fix:
Reboot the phone
I will update this post when new bugs get reported or figured out.
In my testing it doesn't seem like "Naptime" will fix or help with any of the issues.
Also in my testing it seems like "Naptime" in general doesn't do anything regarding battery drain / deep sleep.
So far I have been using BBS to track down most of the issues.
To use BBS on Android 12:
Install BBS
Grant all permissions
Run in adb: adb shell settings put global hidden_api_policy 1
Reboot phone
Everything except kernel wakelocks will work

I intend to do so. Will get released in one week for Pixel 6 Pro. So I still have to wait ;-)
Don't seem to have any issues with deep sleep, unlocked 512Gb version.

In general, Naptime, and similar apps, have not really been needed since Android 10. In my experience, they can do more harm than good, for what it's worth. A properly running OS with properly running apps shouldn't need apps like this nowadays. If you feel the need to use apps like this then something else is wrong. These types of apps only address the symptom, not the cause (Rocky Horror flashback ).
Just my opinion...
Does anyone know if poor signal strength prevents deep sleep or causes the phone to take longer into deep sleep?
Could it be that countries where the pixel is not official being sold somehow affect deep sleep?
It is weird because usually I am like 65% deep sleep while screen is off and 35% awake while screen is off.
Today I am in a country where the Pixel is also officially being sold (I actually bought it here) instead of my home country and I am like 95% in deep sleep and only 5% awake.

I remember when traveling to Europe my P5 (or P4 perhaps it was long ago) drained like 20% overnight while in the US, same programs same everything, it was loke 4 or 5%. So you might have something there.

Well US and EU are quite different (some brands/models even sell the same device as US model and as EU model). I think the frequency bands are different and maybe other things?
But if this is caused simply because I am in the neighbor country in which the P6 is not being officially sold...well **** google and my carrier then.
Has this issue been resolved?
