They only offered me 5gb for free. If i want 50 they are charging $20 a month

Odd, I downloaded app and signed up from it and got a message saying I get 50 gb for life. Wonder if it is dependent on device?

Yes. This was posted here before. All you have to do is backup your build.prop , change the model to one with the free 50gb, and download the box app from the market. When you set it up, you will get 50gb. I did it and it does work. I just dislike that there is no file management app for the desktop ....

Just signed up and got 50gb! Thanks!

No problem I was stoked to see something offering a little more than drop box. The only downfall is there's no select all, still happy though either way. Can't argue with FREE!

there is an app/hack that will give you 50gb free for life even though the android and ios promos ended. I made two accounts so i have 100GB for free DD

Why did you have to edit build.prop? (got 50 gbs too...hell yea!!!)
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium

How do you guys edit your build.prop??? more specifically WHAT do you change? and into what?
Thanks,
EDIT: do i change this? "ro.build.display.id=NAMEOFROM"

Just a warning to some of you guys. I signed up for this around 5pm today. Downloaded the app. Created a login name. Logged in and it showed 50gb free. I thought everything was great and all. 2hours later. I got a call from my credit card fraud prevention center telling me that there was a online merchants called "cloudb" tried to put a charge of $50 into my credit card. They asked me if I was doing any purchasing anything from there. I told them no. So they closed my account number and will send me a new card. I only put my email address in as a login. I don't know how they got ahold of my credit card. I didn't even have time to mess with the app yet. Maybe I was just unlucky. But just want to let you guys know what happened to me. I logged out and uninstalled that app now.

you dont need to change your build.prop

There's something like a 100mb file limit too. I thought that it might be a good choice to place backups too, but consensus says dropbox is way better in terms of service all around.

Someone said he edited his build.prop to make his phone 50gb larger. Does this mean you can edit your build.prop to install applications etc. on Box?
Sent from my SGH-T989

you dont need to edit ur build prop just sign up for box online (theyll give you 5gb then) then download the app on your phone and sign in (at which time they should give you 50gb free for life

25gb of free cloud storage!!

Hey I read an article thought id let everyone know... It's like drop box but they give you way more storage they give 25-50gb of storage.... You can put pictures videos n files on there from your fone or computer. The app is called Minus just thought I'd share bc drop box doesn't give me that much space n. This app is free!!! ... The link is down below

that's exactly! what i was trying to figure out
i know when i joined they only gave me 5GB or something like that, but no where in the app says how much i have now
sucks
It’s nice to have 25GB vs 2GB/5GB from Dropbox but Minus’ UI is very stupidly confusing. I don’t know what are they trying to focus on. Pictures? Or any files? That’s why I’m still with Dropbox.
it's very easy to get 11~12 GB from DropBox free
it's even more easy to get 50 GB free from Box.net which like dropbox it's integrated into many apps, and it's also easy to use like drop box

im on rogers when i got my s3 i just opened drop box and selected i already have an account , sighned in and within 25 min my space was upsated.
There are a couple techniques listed here: http://www.cincygeek.com/2012/07/how-to-get-50-gb-dropbox-on-your-new-samsung-galaxy-s3/
You might lose your IMEI though, so flash at your own risk...

Same thing here, it was part of the process when first running the phone. However, you did have to do 5 different things to unlock the full 50gb, but it doesn't take much time.
As long as you're rooted, the instrcutions I sent you via PM will work.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO FLASH ANY ROMS to get it.
that's all I will say about it but please don't risk softbricking your phone to get this. it's way simpler than that but you'll have to search for the method yourself.
I got it on my Captivate

Is the 50GB lifetime or just for a year (limited). If it is lifetime i can see it being with the trouble to get.
Thanks
It's only for two years. That goes for any galaxy s3 on any network. AT&T didn't make the agreement with dropbox so no temporary 50 gb for us
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Like a few folks above me have said, it's very easy to get the free storage space. All you need is root access, no special rom required. Fwiw, I did it on a Rogers rom.

It expires 7/15/2014, by which time 50GB or greater will be the basic free standard anyway.
Also, some people have reported that Dropbox took back the 50GB and reverted their account to the original 2GB (minus other referral bonuses, etc) after they got caught, so only cheat the system if you really need the extra space and have other backups.
(DropBox also caught on to the HTX OneX cheaters, and fixed that)
I accidentally "cheated" the system. I flashed a t-mobile rom when I got my SGS3 when it came out because thats all their was, and it was compatible. Turns out it had the dropbox.apk. I logged in and noticed it gave me 50GB free.
I still have it.
I've still got my space too.

Free 50GB of Box.com storage

So I decided to give this a shot and surprisingly it works. I signed up for a personal 5GB account on Box.com and used an app to upgrade storage to 50GB. I checked my Box.com account afterwards and it was now showing 50GB.
This is not for Dropbox.
