Fast Refresh Hack? - Nook Touch Android Development

Guys,
What's the consensus on this news item? Is this a bad idea? If not, why wasn't it done before?
http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/hack-enables-fast-refresh-mode-on-nook-simple-touch-video/

If you look right above your post you will find the thread for that hack ◔_◔

USB Host Support = Fast Refresh Hack?
Wow..... Okay.
I also just looked through the thread you linked and it was a hardware USB hack (not surprisingly) and had nothing to do with what I posted about--at least not that I saw.

@ not working on keyboard

I know there is a US keyboard fix for this phone and for the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform. I have tried that fix quite a few times and I STILL can't use my @ symbol. It's doing some weird ASCII symbol instead. Every other key works just fine just not my @ key. I'm getting aggravated as hell when I can't even set up my freaking internet connection because I need the @ to do it!!
go to the "UPGRADE to 6.1 with PICS & LINKS to... Updated links 11/21" thread and download and install the et9 cab to fix the keyboard for T-Mobile Dash

It's not TMobile it's AT&T and I already installed the RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080314_WWE.exe file. The only key I'm having issues with even before the fix is the @ key. Everything else worked before I even installed the fix.

lol How are you going to call me a noob when obvious you can't read a post? I plainly stated that I already installed Windows Mobile 6.1 and the US keyboard fix that you mentioned already. I'm far from a noob. This is the only problem I have ran into that I couldn't fix on my own but I can see I have completely wasted my time here when a senior member of a forums can't even read a thread. You might want to take a look in the mirror and you might actually see the noob you are talking about.
first off, he said "noob guide", he didnt call you a newbie. I have gone there for files before and I am far from a newbie as well.
Second off, if the keymap isnt working, why not just edit your own keymap. At least look at it and see whats going on. If the values are correct, it may be a hardware issue.

USB On-The-go ?!!

I heard that the TP2 can do that "use TP2 as a USB host, reading flash memory and so on" , I've searched XDA alot but didn't find something on that, so can anyone help?

Funny, i had read the exact opposite
There are drivers existing for a long time now, but just experimental and not working... sadly
at least having the TP2 reading an usb-drive could be helpful sumetimes
can be read here among others: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3933336&postcount=2
No way. Rhodium doesn't support this and never will be.

That freakin thread is so confusing, I don't see how it's easier than mine...
[BUILD] **Complete Froyo Bundle!!** FRX06 - "Stable" - Minor Fixes - get it straight from the horses mouth!
That other thread covers a lot of other topics, which isn't bad... it's just kinda confusing IMHO!

Confusing? heh ;P
It offers an introduction as well as install instructions and troubleshooting and basic pc connectivity.

Yes, but my thread is very to-the-point. Not saying your thread is useless, just not the first thing a newbie should see IMHO. Once they work thru my thread, yours would be a good one to look at... assuming they actually read my thread or yours at all.
This isn't a thread battle, and Arrrghhh,i've not suggested your thread because your thread isn't for newbies and covers less topics
But i'll add it to my post
Is it possible to install a full blown rooted Android rom on the Rhodium? Thanks

I wasn't particularly eager to install xdandroid (even though I was excited about the concept) until I read ryannathans' thread. Granted it isn't organized well, but it doesn't assume knowledge that isn't there, which makes it ideal for the type of noob that will read.

Both XDAndroid builds are rooted - do you mean replacing WinMo? It's possible, but not stable. Doesn't play nice at all with GSM devices, and it's not easy/simple on CDMA ones.
See

I don't see the point, everything I needed was in ryan's thread. They serve different purposes. You seem to mostly be focused on FRX06, getting people onto that entry level stable build. You mention kernels and the new rootfs in your thread, leaving someone like me to wonder WTF is a rootfs and kernel? Ryan fills in the blanks and focuses on getting people who don't know squat to FRX6.5, and gives us just enough info to understand the threads he links to. There's no reason for you to duplicate that.

Question/Help XDA Thread Layout changed.... Hard to navigate...

Somehow my layout changed to where all the threads are not in order... It only shows 1 post at a time. I have to goto the top and click a link of each thread to load them one by one underneath.... I attached a pic to help show you what I mean. I cant figure out how to fix it at all. Can anyone help me?
Hello,

But why are you able to see deleted Threads ?
Thank you so much!!! I dont know HOW it got changed, I just know it was DRIVING ME INSANE!!!! Wow i tried forever to find that setting!! I dont recall ever changing it to begin with tho! Curiously, this happened to me a week or two back. Changed from newest first to threaded mode all by itself, though actually the setting was still set correctly. Just had to resave the settings.
I'll report it to the backend guys though.

Right, ok, thanks. Actually as I remember when this happened to me, it said thread deleted top left on all threads so I don't think it is really showing deleted threads.
Mike
I've had this happen too. But for me, it seemed it was a specific mobile browser issue. I switched browsers and it was fine. Never touched my settings.
And yup, everything said deleted. Really confused me at first. Lol
And a note, going back to that browser after awhile, all was fine. Go figure.

No Right click on posts box,so can't use Goolges spellchecker

Like on this post,I can't right click so If I make a misstake and its hilighted with a red line under it and can't use the spell checker to crect it. see they are a lot of misstake in this post and I can't sort them out cos I can't right click...??
I have altisam and have a problem with my spelling.
What do you mean? It's working perfectly here, check the screenshot attached below. I wouldn't worry too much about spelling on XDA anyway. After all, the focus is on development. It's better to have well written code than to have well written posts =)
Yea, I'm not sure what your issue could be. Right click isn't disabled or modified in any way on XDA.
Try another browser as a test?
