Nexus 89.99 w/new contract, anyone got one yet? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey I am currently on prepaid verizon with a Droid X and I am paying 95$ a month for 450 minutes and unlimited Verizon to Verizon and unlimited data but I am wanting to get a Galaxy Nexus and finally have a 4G hotspot for my Transformer Prime. I have a 3G hotspot on my Droid X but it is just not fast enough and I am ready for a new phone.
I had looked for the cheapest place to get a Nexus and it looked like wirefly was the cheapest place to get one at 99$. Best Buys website has the Nexus for 199.99$ and I don't think Verizon was much better.
So I got on eBay to see what I could get one for and I saw Best Buy had them on eBay for 89.99$ when I clicked the link it took me to a Best Buy wireless site and applied a promotional code to my order. But I was just wondering if anyone else has bought one through Best Buys eBay store/link or whatever you want to call it.
Here is a link to eBay where I found it - https://ebay.bbymsolutions.com/detail/1124
What do you guys think? I have to pay a 400$ deposit so this looks like my best bet.

I got 2 of them from Amazon wireless. for $99 108 after tax for NYC. Easy transaction 2 day shipping and got my phones up and running in no time. I dont understand your last part where you say you need to put $400 down? what is that all about?

Verizon runs a credit check on people every time someone opens a new account and if you don't have good credit they charge a deposit and you get it back after 1 year.

Got a free Galaxy Nexus
got and email from verizon saying upgrade for free to 4G when to the verizon store
and got it for free

Well yeah, but that isn't everybody. So that shouldn't be a deciding factor unless you're in that boat.

Amazon Deal is Back! Touch Pro 2 for $149 / $119

Save money with Amazon and get the Touch Pro 2 for over 60% off at $149.99. T-mobile.com sells the same phone for $350 with a new activation and/or a 2-year upgrade. What a rip!
I dont get the logic with t-mobile either but if you were on the fence with the touch pro 2 and wanted to make the jump, this def is for you. Free fast shipping too. Hopefully this deal will last longer than last time when Amazon kept it up for only one day or so. This is a great steal if your out of contract and/or you need a new line. In this economy every dollar saved is worth it
http://www.amazon.com/Touch-Pro-Phone-Mocha-T-Mobile/dp/B002LITRMQ/ref=helpuu-20
You can also get $30 off by signing up with their rewards card for a grand total of $119. It doesn't say if ever have to use it lol. You shouldn't have to pay more than 150 for the TP2 anywhere.
has anyone try to buy this and then cancel? would be 150+200 ETF which is 350. would I have to pay for the first month? looking to buy one for ATT usage.
Just called Amazon and its not available to current tmobile customers and you can't have had tmobile service in the last 90 days.
I feel like screaming.
I posted a similar deal here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549614
Read the thread some people got the deal even if they were customer, don't give up just yet!!
And iambored, you know no 3G with a Tmo on ATT right?
you might have to pay activation, but not sure about the first month. craigslist is also your friend

[Q] Has anyone Pre-Ordered from Verizon before?

I am going to Pre-Order this phone when its available, however I have never done it.
Has anyone tried it with a phone in high demand? Like the Droid Incredible or the iPhone? I am just curious if I need to do it the very first day its open in the morning or am I safe to do it within the first day or two?
I bought my Dinc after its release and had to wait about a month to get it...PIA. I don't want to go through that again.
P.S. My upgrade isn't until March 3rd, but I was told I could maybe get an early upgrade. If not then one of my employees has a standard phone and no desire to upgrade so I could switch upgrades with him from what I understand.

I hignly doubt that the GN is going to be a "high demand" device.......but because the nexus is finally going "main stream" i think they will have a large supply....
My guess is that you'll be able to walk into a Verizon or Best Buy store and pick one up on the first day. Having one deliverd on the first day could be iffy.
i'm dropping my sprint contract a few months early, paying them $100 to do so, selling my evo 4g on swappa, and then getting in with flynn @ verizon the day of GN launch. $400 venture minus the profit i make on the evo (assuming less than $200).
I preordered my incredible from Verizon and was lucky I did with the crazy demand and supply issues the phone had. I have doubts there will be a need to preorder the nexus as it has more competition and no known supply issues like the Inc had.

when web only sale hits does anyone know what time they normally release phones? 12midnight? East coast or West coast time? Phone lines open at 6am east coast time because I had to get special permission to upgrade my wife 3 days early on the Droid 3.
I preorder a few verizon phones. You don't need to preorder it right away. You should be able to wait a few days to preorder and still get it day 1.
I have a $400 best buy gift card from doing a buy back with my nexus s. when this phone comes out, i will be buying my phone at best buy so i can get another buy back option plus I'll be selling my basically brand new samsung galaxy s2 + 32gb sd card + 2 batteries which should offset the 200 ETF to move over.
god, i'm gonna hate having a 2gb tier program.

yes you are. so.... why are you switching carriers for it? Do you really want to have LTE?
@martonikaj:
Like DammitCubs, I am also switching from T-Mobile. Truthfully, I am not that hard up for LTE, but there's an ongoing 3G/4G outage in my neighborhood that T-Mobile doesn't seem to be doing anything about. Take a look here for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223379
With regards to tiered data, I'm currently on a 5GB full speed plan with T-Mobile, but I've never gone over 2GB. I don't think Verizon's plan will be an issue.
Verizon is offering a 2 for 1 program. If you buy the 2gb for $30, you get 4gb!

Trick to get double the data on GN

I am not a verizon customer yet.
I would love to get the Nexus only if I could get double the data promo from Verizon, but I am afraid that the promotion would expire by the end of the month since there is no official word if Verizon would offer that promotion on GN release date (assuming Dec 8).
Is it possible to get a phone from amazon or ebay and replace it with the Galaxy Nexus when arrived and transferring my data plan over?
If any one would think this could be an option or could think of another trick I really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Absolutely. I would suggest Costco as they have 90days return policy plus they will give you ridiculous amount of accessories for free. Just stop by your local store.
the Galaxy Nexus will be out before the offer expires
Thank you, but if I returned the phone would I get the subsidized price on the GN?
Also, I did not read anywhere that this promotion would be valid through early to mid December? Any one have any credible indication to that effect.
Thank you guys.
Guess you guys are forgetting that Verizon has extended through return/exchange through January 9th for phone purchased after November 15th.

Verizon will end up extending or re-doing the promotion.
It's the only way to attract a high number of new subs. The 2-gig LTE limit is a complete asinine joke and they know it. Once the promo "ends" and sales slow, the double your pleasure promo will magically reappear.
In case the Galaxy nexus would sell exclusively in company store or website in the beginning, if I get the 0.01 dollar razor from Amazon, can I return it to Amazon and keep my plan, then buy GN at subsidized price?
Or should just I buy it from Verizon store to be safe, not sure if I could preorder on line in this case or have to wait on line at the store.
Please advise i am really loosing sleep over this issue.
Thank you again

It's Nov 28.
You can buy any Verizon phone and return it, no questions asked (for $35 I believe) up until Jan 9th, 2012. Or you can do the Costco standard 90-day one time exchange deal.
Careful dealing with Amazon and their penny deals. They, in addition to carrier ETF's, impose an additional ETF if you cancel within 180 days. Not sure about exchanges, but with Verizon and Costco, you don't even have to deal with it. If paying $199 or $299 is not an option, I wish you the best in dealing with Amazon. I imagine there is some fine print that will be an "ah, gotchya!" moment if you try to exchange.
I'm not sure what else you want us to say. Just make a decision and go to bed.
Well you definitely shouldn't lose sleep over it...
The deals going through the end of the year, don't worry.it'll be available when the phone comes out and even if you get the phone from another store you can get the double data deal.
If you are worried about getting a data plan locked in you could buy a used 4G LTE phone and then just swap the SIM into the GN when you get it.

thanks bear55
But if you buy used one and sign in for two year plan, how would get the subsidized price for the GN?

Where is everyone getting theirs from?

I've been looking for a Note 2. I've got enough money to buy one from the T mobile store off contract but I'm looking to save some money where else can I find one? I've checked the Swappa, Craigslist and even Best Buy. Where might I be able to find a deal on the Note 2?
Thanks.

Since I plan to try the $30/mo plan :
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-phone/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-No-Annual-Contract
Suggested Retail $699.99
Web-only discount -$50.00
$649.99 (+ state tax where applicable)
Free overnight delivery until Dec 20th during business days I was told although website simply says Free Shipping so it likely depends on US location.
If anyone finds a better deal, let us know
-Thnx
P.S. (877) 353-3614 should also give you that price if you need to speak with someone at T-Mobile Web.
Found one allegedly NIB on craigslist for 580.00 But I ended up ordering mine from t-mobile for 240.00 and they through in free unlimited internet and 250 more minutes a month for that price. But the experience ordering it made me almost wish Id paid full boat so I didnt have to deal with their incompetent service reps. took 3 seperate orders before they finally got it right : /
Surprisingly enough for me I found one on Craigslist for 300 (literally b.n.i.b) guy said he had the phone for a week and needed money for a ticket. I meet him at a McDonalds popped my Sim in from my GS3 and gave him the cash.. It had no visible signs of use except SuperSU app but everything else was still in original packaging.. Headphones, Charger, USB..
It took me a month to find one but it was worth the wait

Possible Galaxy S4 for $579.99 (no contract)

Ive been looking around for the best price before I bought the phone and I came upon costco's website, they list the retail price as $579.99 which is the lowest Ive come across. However theres a slight problem. They wont let you order it at that price, they want you to go with the $199 contract deal.
However, you may be able to price match this through best buy or another store once they get the phones in stock..
Funny - I saw that when I ordered it with contract extensive for $200. Maybe call Costco and raise a stink.
It could partially be due to them not having them yet but no excuse

If you search these forums there is a thread from 2 years ago and a costco manager says that it can be done but they almost always refuse because they make commission on the contract. Heres the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044213&page=2 the users name is iceshark.
Anyways if that route doesnt work for you, then like I said you can try getting another store to price match costco.
so expensive now
Its preorder and not outright buy. They are also asking for a 2 year contract (which I believe they need to update their site).
htc one and galaxy s4
its so expensive, i preferred using HTC One i watched google hangout by mashable, i like the design of HTC

Unfortunately those costco wireless stores are managed by another company and could care less about loyalty to costco or pleasing their members. Yes I said "pleasing their members", you are free to LOL.
T-Mobile store is $629
Stopped in at the T-Mobile store near me today, mentioned I am prepaid and asked how much for the S4. He thought the S4 was $649, then looked it up and current price is $629 for the S4. He said they were told they would get the S4 no later than the 15th. They just got a demo S4 in this morning and I got to play around with it a bit. I was sure put off by the mock-up version of the S4 I saw at BestBuy. The real deal is much nicer in person. Anyway, he didn't give me any grief for wanting to buy prepaid and said they would switch my ginormous SIM from the mytouch out for me for free. They already received TONS of accessories for it (mostly cases). He said 3 out of the last 4 days he has been getting in S4 accessories.
I know this is an S4 thread, but since many are still trying to decide between S4 and One, the One is $579. And this weekend only you can get it for $100 off of that (via HTC rebate). Only (BIG) problem is they have no idea when they are going to get One stock in.
Hopefully this was useful info to someone.:good:
im confused? you can get the phone from Tmobile for 150 down and then pay 20 bucks on your bill for 24 months with no contract extension (you do have to promise to pay the phone off, so i guess thats the same). i know yo uend up paying 650 for it, but isnt that easier on your wallet? especially if you are a current customer or someone who cant drop 600 bucks on a new phone?

You can only do that if on the value plan or due for upgrade. I already tried :/ I'm on classic and there's a fee for switching to the value plan so just easier to buy it for Me at least

im still on the classic 1000 family talk plan, pay 30 bucks for 4.5gb of data and 20 bucks for unlimited texts, just got a new iphone 5 and S4 and paid no migration fee and my plan and services are all the same as before. although i have 5 lines and i think maybe one of them was up for an upgrade...maybe 2 so i guess thats why
Does anyone think best buy would match this price??? They have heard so over priced at $730!!

It looks cheap. You save $ 100. Very good price!
I'd wait a month or two if you can. There's gouging going on in the market because of the stock availability. Plus, first run devices (I learned this on my last few phones) almost always have some hardware issues in large quantities - waiting allows for the hardware revisions to fix these. Amazon hasn't gotten theirs yet, to my knowledge.
Not to mention once the HTC One is available widely, the two will force each other down. The fact HTC is doing a $100 MIR to bring theirs down to $479, shows that the Galaxy S4 is going to have to drop quickly to compete.
Food for thought.
