Launcher Pro/Plus, ADW and ADW Ex, Zeam very outdated, Stock. But Go Launcher is nice why do you feel bored of it?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium

+1 for Zeam. Been stuck on that since Bonsai 4.0. Got my girl to switch because ADW was slowing her phone down and screwing up with the dock disappearing.

I've only ever used TW launcher and Go Launcher. I'm a big fan of Go Launcher.

LauncherPro is awesome, even though it hasn't been updated in a year. I've tried Go a few times but it always seems to get cranky and sluggish after a few hours of use. To me it seems like Go is an unfinished project.

i always used launcherpro up until i started running CM9.. Trebuchet works well enough. Been meaning to play with some of the other ICS launchers, just been lazy.

I was using ics launcher and loved it till I started running cm9
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

+1 for launcher pro. Used on stock and still using it on CM7. Love the widgets for it as well. It hasn't been updated in a year because it doesn't need to be IMO.

Nova. Oh right, Gingerbread. Damn outdated software :-\ .
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

my ranking system:
1.)Zeam ---> (incredibly fast, smooth scrolling, laggy app drawer scrolling on gingerbread (not on ICS), stable.) Very light memory usage.
2.)Launcher Pro---> (Amazing desktop scrolling smoothness, very smooth app drawer scrolling, some weird bugs, stable) Moderate memory usage.
3.)Go Launcher--->(Less smooth than Launcher pro, little bugs, very stable) Medium memory usage.
4.)ADW--->(Laggy scrolling, very fast, weird bugs, stable) Light memory usage.
keep in mind every phone is different and every experience will vary based on ROM/Kernel combinations, however, these are the launchers that have worked best for me. I still stand by zeam even though its ancient, still the best launcher I have used to date. In <3 with it. Zeam is extremely light on RAM consumption and is incredibly fast.... most people dont notice the difference, but my picky ass does.

I've been running Go with CM9...I just love the folders in the app drawer, makes it so nice clean and neat. But on my Acer A100, I run ADW Ex...to me, it just seem to run a little better on the tab. Besides, there alot more screen real estate there...heh

I went through a nemus launcher phas for a while. It has really cool folders/grouping and is generally snappy.

touch wiz vs. launcher pro

Used touch wiz for a few days. Not bad at all. I just love the simplicity and familiarity of launcher pro.
I had launcher pro on my atrix 4G. This is my first time using touch wiz. Minus the ugly icons I kinda like it so far.

This is the first time I have ever liked the skin. I have used motoblur, sense, and now touchwiz. Blur was slow and Sense was buggy.

I just dont see a reason to use the others. I used them on my Moment, Intercept, and Optimus S because of slowness and bugginess.
TW moves fluid, looks good, and all the widgets work well with it so I am way satisfied with my phone. I have not had a issue yet. I want root but I want just the most simple root possible just so I can install a couple of rooted apps I like. The roms and all that I just dont see a need for with this phone. Its about perfect right out the box.
I used LauncherPro on my previous Photon because their UI sucked but the TouchWiz on the Sammy works just fine for me. I have LauncherPro installed but have not switched as of yet. Might just stay with TW as it is working just fine so far.
TW working fine here. Just wish it had the abililty for scrolling widgets and resizing of all widgets, not just the TW widgets.
New touch wiz isn't to bad but I use go launcher it is the best. launcher pro is nice but go launcher stays more up to date and is smoother I think

I switched to launcher pro from touchwiz because its much more simple. I have ADWLauncher EX but when I set it as my default launcher it will some how send me back to touchwiz so I'm on Launcher Pro until we get a stable root and rom going then its on to customization of this baddass phone!

ADW replacement for CM7?

Well, I have to admit it that I dont like ADW launcher in CM7. I prefer much more simpler such like Gingerbread launcher. I found one but it kept FC on me. Do you know where to find one that is working properly?
I can't say I I have a gingerbread launcher apk, but "zeam" is a simple launcher in comparison to adw at least it has been to me in the past

From what I understand launcher pro has become rather bloated? What do you guys think?

I had Zeam on my phone for a looooong time. Gave up on it after a couple of bad updates that introduced lag and switched to LauncherPro. Despite having larger footprint, IMHO LP is pretty lag free and has the features that I want (scrolling widgets) as well as a way of saving the dock settings. Zeam kept crashing on my Epic, and there was no easy way to restore the icon spacing etc. settings. Granted, I never ran it on CM7 Epic, but still have Zeam as my choice launcher on my CM7 Nook Color. I also have ADW EX (the premium version of ADW) and feel that its interface is not very intuitive/somewhat clunky vs. both Zeam and Launcher Pro - but it is the most full-featured and customisable one of the three. Never tried Go Launcher but heard some very good things about it.

And another +1 for Go Launcher, although it seems like it's a bit too full-featured to be considered a "simple" replacement. I don't have any issues with the options, but I could see it being somewhat confusing for anyone wanting just a plain home replacement.

Try go browser. Its what I always use.
I like go launcher but I remember reading something from konane (I believe) and he said that within golauncher there was a similar service to carrier iq and that it sends reports (or something) to the developer with info about our phone. That is why most people inlcuding myself expirience poorer battery life with go launcher. Other than that I think Go launcher is the way to go!

New Tablet Launcher

Hey everyone, Go Launcher Dev Team released a beta HD Launcher for tablets.
http://golauncher.goforandroid.com/2012/03/go-launcher-hd-v1-0-beta/
Currently rocking it.
*It's just a beta and I'm sure all the great "GO" features are still to come.
IMO: Not as great as the stock HC/ICS launchers (Props to Google) but once they add a lot of features, it will be a great improvement.
Anyway, test it out see for yourselves and send feedback using, Menu in the top right.

I'm with you on those two, was using Nova on my Nexus for quite some time, until I discovered Apex, that auto-grid feature is killer, more space on my tab and my phone, and things still look the same.
I did try Go Launcher, and it's pretty nice, but not for me, doesn't fit in with the whole ICS aestethic (which I love)
Apex FTW! I love the ICS look too, GO just makes me feel like I'm back on gingerbread or froyo

Best performing launchers?

I recently switched to Nova launcher and it seems like its overall smoother than Apex launcher which is what I've been using previously. What launchers have given you the best performance on ICS.
I'm also trying to figure out how to get other governors that would help with performance without killing my battery for AOKP Milestone 6.

I like nova prime. But atom launcher is also a good favorite. Very light. I used atom on CNA and aokp and had great results

I have had good performance with apex, however I do like nova as well. Would put them as top 2, in no order.
In my experience, apex is far smoother than nova. Nova was very unresponsive for me.
I looove apex or stock launcher

I really don't get the Apex/Nova rave on our device. Sammy gives us the stock launcher, you just have to switch to it. I only use Nova because I got it when it was on sale, not worth the regular price in my opinion.

Apex just gives me a "Stock +" experience. I don't even use as many features as it has. Mainly just to use home button as app drawer(when on home screen), and have app/folder options in the scrollable dock.

Best performance is stock launcher for me.
I have purchased and tried out both Nova and Apex Pro launchers. After using them both for a while I settled on Apex launcher. I am on a rooted stock jellybean firmware, Poland rollout. Both launchers are very similar in terms of overall design and behaviour but i chose Apex for the following reasons;
1.Fewer ui and app drawer redraws this is possibly because of the keep in memory feature which is not there in Nova. This might consume more memory but for me the resulting smoothness is worth it.
2. Unread email count, to put this into perspective understand I have three Gmail accounts set up on my phone. In Apex I get the total unread count across all 3 accounts whilst Nova gives me total unread for only the main account associated with my device.
The one thing i missed in Apex from Nova was the import homescreen feature as i had to set up my widgets all over again in Apex. That said i am sticking to Apex for now.
GoLaucher Ex is now unistalled from my S3 until further notice but it seems to still work reasonably well on my S2

ADW Launcher is Back

Remember ADW Launcher from Donut/Gingerbread days? It's back!
ADW Free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.adw.launcher
ADWEX: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEwMiwib3JnLmFkd2ZyZWFrLmxhdW5jaGVyIl0.
Going to give it a try and see how it does when paired up against Nova & Apex.

Holy s**t, I gave up on ADW ages ago and jumped to Apex... I'm going to have to give it another shot and see how it compares. Thanks for the heads-up.
It's been a long time I haven't used ADW...
It looks good, I've been playing with screens and settings for 20mn... it feels like home, but better.
The best feature Apex desn't have is changing icons size... Just for that, I could forget Apex and stick to ADW (why creating 128x128 icons when Apex resize them to some tiny half sized icons ?!!)
I've encountered some few bugs (I guess) with theming dock.. nothing important though, as I usually get rid of it and go for full screen
Adding widgets pop up is amazing.. think tablet mode.. 2 panels with previews.. that's trully sexy.. <3
