[Q] MHL WiFi - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello,
I purchased a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and connected them to my google galaxy nexus with aokp_maguro_build-27 with kernel 18.6 fransco.
I have my MHL adaptor plugging into my TV via the HDMI cable. I have my WiFi on trying to stream youtube or browse the web, but it seems the signal strengh of my wifi router has dramatically dropped as soon as the MHL device is plugged in.
Maybe all the power is being concentrated in projecting the image out the phone to the MHL adpator and not leaving enough for the wifi to operate properly.
Does anybody have an idea on whats happening?

What your thinking makes sense. Have you tried leaving the phone in the same place, but unplugging the adapter? Try to eliminate interference from the tv. Try this:
- Start everything a you described to replicate the issue.
- Just turn off the TV and test your wifi
- Just unplug the TV side and test your wifi
- Unplug you're phone side and test
- Move the phone away from the TV and toast
- etc etc

Same Problem here.
Seems as if wlan won`t work while MHL connected. At least not with AOKP. Itried different Kernels with AOKP. No change.

Problem with MHL / HDMI cable

Hi, I just bought a MHL cable but it doesn't work, let me explain:
after connecting everything needed (phone to the adapter, HDMI from TV to adapter, charger to adapter) the TV shows an error that is missing signal.
When I connect the phone, it turns the screen horizontal, but nothing happens on the TV.
If it could help, I mount the last version of Resurrection Remix Rom...
Maybe, should I do something from the phone to start the video/audio transmission?
Any ideas? Thank you in advance
i know thats in Resurretion Remix have an application called TvOut....
but try to read in mhl manual for the steps to work, but i thing its just plug n play
MHL works only on stock ROMs.

thank you!I found out that the tvout process is not yet supported for the jelly beal versions of resurrection remix but I flashed back the last ICS version (2.6.1 RR) and everything is working now!
Here's my issue with MHL adapter:
It works well if I connects directly to my TV. But the TV sound sucks so I tried to connect to my home theatre system (which has Audio Return channel + 2 hdmi inputs). But what happens is that it's doing connected/disconnected literally every second.
Is there a solution for this?
thank you friend

MHL problems

Hello all,
I am using HOX with Samsung MHL to my TV, when I play movies it works fine, but I am losing signal with the operator and time to time mhl loses connection with tv for few seconds. Any body have same problems?
Thanks
It seems that airplain mode helped, anyone may know why mhl caused signal lost on HOX?

Please report it on the respective OS/ROM thread for the one you're using. On CM10, MHL known problem is picture flip, but no signal issues.

USB/MTP Problems

Ok so recently I picked up this head unit for my car. It is amazing, works great and sounds epic. One problem though, it will not work correctly when connected to my GSM Galaxy Nexus via USB. It works great if connected Bluetooth, but you lose a lot of sound quality that way. USB always sounds way better, however when I plug in my phone nothing happens at all except that my phone starts charging. I wonder if is the ROM I am using and if possibly a different ROM would solve the issue. I am using AndroidME. I am also wondering if the problem is that GNEX uses MTP. However several people have said that they use this head unit with a Galaxy Nexus so I don't know what to think. I am currently using a 16gb flash drive full of music and it's actually working fine. So I know the front USB port does work. Is there anyone who can tell me anything about this issue? And if it's an MTP thing is there a way to force a mass storage connection?

Do you use a custom kernel with fast-charge, or does your ROM have it built in with it's stock kernel?

Fast Charge is not on. I found out that the head unit simply does not accept MTP connections, thus anyone using ICS or JB cannot connect to it. Nothing to be done, I'm afraid :/

Otg usb cable issues

Hi,
I just bought an adaptor cable for my n8010 to allow me to connect flash drives and other usb devices. However, every usb device that I have connected (a couple of flash drives and a usb keyboard) seems to have the same issue. Basically, I connect the device and it will continously connect and then a few seconds later disconnect the device. This just keeps looping until I physically disconnect the device.
With the usb keyboard I find that I can actually use the device while it says it is connected. However, I dont seem able to see the usb drives mounted anywhere.
Has anyone managed to get a flash pen and keyboard working using an adaptor cable?
Im using Revolution HD 4.1 if that makes any difference.

Try turning your note off completely, plug in the usb stick and turn on. I had the same problem. In the boot process the note discovered the device and now works fine. After the initial boot with the usb stick it appears to remember it and shows up automatically when I plug it in.

You sir are a GOD AMONG MEN! Ive had my device since Sept 2012 and havent been able to get a USB to work with it....Thanks for the solution, no more having to use FTP or Bluetooth (online solutions) or deal with removing SD cards to Xsfer data.

This seems to be the case for all accessories that use the 30 pin data connecter. I have tried 3 different usb adapters as well as the Samsung keyboard dock. None have any instructions indicating you have to restart the Note but that is what works.
ENJOY!

Is it possible to run a Internet USB Dongle with the original adapter, or with any OTG cable?
I need to have internet connection outside my house, and using an USB Dongle is my only option.
Best regards

I don't believe that's possible; however, you should be able to use your smartphone as a hotspot unless it's prohibited by your mobile provider.

Are you using a custom ROM? May not be incorporated yet. It has always worked flawless on my ROM setup. If it's working on one and not the other, that's where I would start.

no one ?...
i dont think its the cable or the slimport adapter because it use the same adapter and cable with the nexus 5 and works perfectly
:/
I'm using a Nexus 7/2013 with original Slimport adapter on a Panasonic TV. It's not plug-and-play most of the time.
But rebooting the tablet will make it work. Stay on the TV's HDMI input channel while the tablet is rebooting. :good:
I think it's a problem around the handshake protocol of HDMI.
will try it, will report later
no video out at all after making a fix on the touchscreen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428133
nexus 5 video out (same slimport adapter) working flawlessly
