sony erricson mw600 with note - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hey guys, i've a question i'm planning to buy sony erricson mw600 bluetooth for galaxy note but there are few questions that i want to ask is:
1) whether all the keys like volume etc work fine with it?
2) how is the sound quality in terms of music and calls.
3) is there an option of fast forwarding and skipping of songs.
4) what about the range of Bluetooth?
Please guys help me out and if there is any other better option available than mw600 (similar to it) than do suggest me.

Hi, i have one.
1) whether all the keys like volume etc work fine with it?
Yes, no problem
2) how is the sound quality in terms of music and calls.
Very good quality
3) is there an option of fast forwarding and skipping of songs.
Hold forward or backward
4) what about the range of Bluetooth?
Like others, 12 meters and no problem.
Everything is ok ! Buy it
You have radio function too with the mw600.
IMHO, a very good bluetooth kit, good song for daily use.
(Sorry for my poor English).

I had the the MW600...but returned.
I don't like the fact the clip is so sensitive, always clicked when clip on .
I got this ...Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 instead.

All the functions work, play/pause, skip/last, volume, call send and end, etc.
Sound quality is great, I love the fact you can use any earbuds thanks to the 3.5mm jack. I use some pretty high-end in ear modules and they sound really good. The buds that come with the module sound decent as well.
Yes you can fast forward (long press) or just skip, with a single click of the forward button.
Bluetooth range, covers my small apartment with no issue. So 30 feet or so?
I'm loving this with my note, having to take out the note to control my music was getting really bothersome, now I can leave it in my pocket

Wanted to like it but the touch sensitive volume adjust was a big no no

I have one and love it volume sensitivity isn't an issue for me.

Don't agree at all. Actually I thought it would be a problem but fortunately the volume changes only when you mean to change it. I use it every single day on my Note.

First, it don't have the clip attachment so it very comfortable.
Battery life is not bad,I didn't really tested how long it last but it good for me.
when using as the Mic for the phone, no compliant from the other end.
Sound it good for music using with Poweramp which have the equalizer.

I have a set of MW600, which I think are excellent.
I did look at the IS800's, but they had one massive flaw in comparison IMO, and that is that unlike the MW600's, they don't use MicroUSB for charging.
As a frequent traveller, I don't want to carry more chargers than is strictly necessary, and having to carry a dedicated charger for a tiny set of headphones just doesn't work for me.

Dave

range of bluetooth seems pretty excellent. Interestingly the quality isn't much worse than the output from the headphone jack on the note itself (which is appalling, but just to make the point).
Something I would love to experiment with is using different headphones with it, as well as using an AOSP bluetooth stack with higher bitpool. Higher bitpool by itself would make the headphones well.. perfect. The DAC on them is no worse than the GNote dac.
I definitely love the fact that they use MicroUSB for charging, as I only need to keep one charger around. I could probably get away with just using one wall adapter for a micro USB cable, and having a portable USB device as well as a single cable to charge two devices on the go.
Battery life is really good, and I've had it last two days before on a single charge. Sometimes (with heavy use) it dies with the note, which is not a problem either

That Sony looks nice. For me the point of wireless headphones would be no Clip on unit and less cables which i like about the is800's .

The only issue I have with the mw600 is that - as I am a frequent traveller too and I use a second phone with a local SIM card - it can not connect simultaneously with two phones, although it can be paired with two phones.
It can only connect to one phone and one other device, like a computer or particularly in my case with a Motorola Xoom.

Arc Earphones

Just wondering if the in ear headset that comes with the phone is any good?
It looked plain in the unboxing videos, so what's the sound like?
Could someone take a close up picture of theirs or link me to the exact headset?
Thanks
Compared to other out of the box headsets its one of the best ive had, decent bass, crisp. All the SE phones ive had have always come with a decent headset. I can only use the type that push into your ears so that was another plus.
Does it have a remote for changing songs and stuff or is it only a mic?
A link to the headset would be appreciated
No controls, thats the downside to it. Only a mic and call answer button. I use my liveview as the controls though
Yeah I wanted to get liveview since there's no control.
Is it worth it? Any downsides to liveview?
I'd only use it for changing songs, messages and incoming calls. What you reckon?

Try Headset Button Controller Trial from android market
it allows you to 2 presses to skip track , 3 presses to go back etc.
long press to increase volume
Swap my mm70 earbuds with the arc stock with a bit of soldering. Check out youtube.
Now i am happy with the headphone

I've tried my beats with controltalk with this phone and the sound is all garbled up.
Anyone else experience that with other headsets?
The ones that come stock are ok. but I miss my ability to control songs (fast forward, rewind, volume up/down) that I had with my iPhone 4.

I've heard of a few people who complain of garbled sound with non SE headphones in Arc/Play.
I have been using beats dr dre tour on my Play with out an issue though. Seems very hit or miss on if they work or not.

That's really an awesome app. Works brilliant. I think you have to buy it, though. At least it started annoying me with some "your trial has expired" messages.
Stock earphones are quite good, though they look/feel really cheap. ^^
They look pretty much like SE MH710 on the pictures, but I'm not sure if they are the same.
The arc stupidly reverse the ground and mic wiring thats why other headsets dont work on it. Try to hold the mic button down you will get nice sound.

Just tried that and you are right! How the heck do we fix that?
Is there something I can buy or a software hack that can fix it?

Wow! So THIS is why I haven't been able to use other headsets! That is very sneaky of SE.. I hope this is a software issue rather than intentional to force users to only buy SE headsets
My old Android phone also had this problem so I do not think it is a SE issue...
(Motorola Backflip)
It seems with the 2.3.3 update they don't even let you use these "incompatible" headsets, it just displays "Accessory not supported".
I used samsung and motorola headsets with no problem.

there HAS to be a fix for this! i cant stand the headset that comes with it, i hate those in ear noise cancelling things, make my ears feel weird! lol
but seriously, im having to use a normal pair of earphones with no control because of this issue, i have a liveview for controls but thats not always practical (dissconection issues/battery life/running the risk of smashing it to pieces when im skating!)
i have a set of iphone headphones i really wanted to use but because of this ****ty issue i cant. is there a way we could easily modify the headset and reverse the wiring in them ourselves?
We can use normal earphones ? If so, I'm not overly concerned.

Yes anything with a regular 2 channel 3.5mm Jack (headphones/speakers) work fine. I would have taken the phone back if this problem effected normal jacks too as I plug my phone into car stereos and portable speakers, but I'm still pissed off I can't use anything with an inline remote

[Q]"Best" Headset for Note?

Hi all,
I'm wondering what headset (Bluetooth/Wired) you use for your Note? I'm using Marshall Minor, but I still find the volume not loud enough.
Would any of you recommend something else? I live in Hong Kong which is fairly noisy, so something that has good volume would be great.
Thanks in advance!
I haven't got a Note yet, but I use the Sony MW600 bluetooth headset with my HD2. And I'd be lost without it - best thing I've bought!
No problems syncing to the device, it has remote control (pause, next/previous), hands free talk as it has built in mic, and comes with in ear buds, which are very good indeed. They block out quite a bit of external noise too, but you can plug in any headset you want to it if you want to go to higher spec headphones. Battery lasts about 10 hours continuous use, and it will re-charge of your Note's charger.
I'm not an audiophile, but I do like music. And it does me fine.
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.ph...w600---black?gclid=CLftmIS1n6wCFYEZ4QodOzpc_Q
Edit - Just had a look at the Marshalls, and these would offer a tighter fit in the ear then the Marshalls, so would block out more external noise. I wear mine in work, even if i'm not listening to music. I work in the print industry with loud machinery, and they are better than the ear plugs we get given, which reduce external noise by 27 dB. If I'm listening to music in work while my machines are running, and you want to chat - then you ain't gonna get through unless you're in my face!

My previous headset was the Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800
Compared to the Sonys:
- They seem to fit better in my ear (they come with 3 different bud sizes)
- The earbuds are slightly larger and so I guess they do stick out a little more, though I haven't noticed any issue with it
- An extra 2 hours of call/music time
- Have FF/RW controls as well as volume adjust (The Sony's only have Play/Pause/Answer)
- I haven't had any issues with people hearing me or me hearing other people when using them, but I've yet to test them somewhere really noisy
- They come in Red (if that's your thing)

I was thinking about this but didnt bother getting one once i saw the Note, not as big as the press would have u believe!
I was considering the NOKIA J - i has a small clipable dock so i wouldnt have to have it in the ear all the time...
3 months standby time
Auto answer when taken out of dock
Few more feature i cant remember now, worth having a look at.

Besides being a gadget phone nut I am also a sick buyer of headsets. I have been in search of the perfect headset forever ..
There is one by Sony that I love the way it fits. They don't make it any more and every now and then I find one on eBay ..
I have the Sennheiser bluetooth headset. If you look hard you can find one new on eBay most of the time for about $60 .. I like that one a lot because I have small ear holes and those go on the outside of your ear ..
I also have 2 Bang & Olafsen bluetooth headsets .. One left ear which I am keeping and the other right ear which I am gonna sell when I find it .. I also have the wired Bang & Olafsen head set. I read that it has a teeny tiny microphone somewhere .. I don't know if that is my model .. use it for listening to music ..
I actually have a box of discarded bluetooth headsets. I should put them all together in one lot and sell them. Maybe I will do that today. Don't know if I can find all the chargers though .. They are all discarded because I find them uncomfortable to wear.
For music or movies I use the Sennheiser M400s which have a nice balanced sound and good battery life. For calls, it's hard to go past the Plantronics Discovery 975 - small and sleek, super comfortable to wear, and really good battery life (especially with the included charging case).......
I can't wear anything that doesn't go around the ear. And if it goes in the ear, ugh. After a half hour I have to take it out because it gets painful. Maybe if I had bigger ears .. or Man Ears .. it wouldn't be so bad. They are doing hearing aid implants now, maybe they could do a little bluetooth implant ??

I got these 2 days ago from Amazon:
amazon.de/Philips-SHB9001-00-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B00424O4RU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320610417&sr=8-1[/url]
the quality while talking is not the best but its enough for me.
Despite the positive comments about the quality of just listening to music, i can hear some "scratches" when a song gets "heavier". This is my first BT Headset so maybe its normal for BT headsets, or i just overlooked a setting i have to change in the Software.. Hint, anyone?

Hi, thanks for replying. I do not have a budget in mind, my usual principle is to pay what's worth its salt.
So far, everyone's recommended bluetooth wireless headsets, I'm not a big fan of charging stuff, having need to recharge my phone nightly already. But if there are no better wired devices out there, I might as well get Bluetooth because call quality is more important to me than music quality which my Marshall Minor does just fine.
I'm looking for a $100 max wired in-hear headset with mike and very complete remote too. It seems Android is not very friendly with those at all, so I'm thinking I'll have to go Bluetooth. What I found:
- http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/mc2.html, if their software works on Note (untested)
- a-JAYS One+, coming in Dec.: http://www.jays.se/products/earphones/a-jays-one-plus.html (uses software too)
- Sennheiser just confirmed they have nothing wired.
- Klipsch: Image S4A http://www.klipsch.com/image-S4A-headphones being adapted for S2, Note = S2 ?
- Samsung: told me to go f... (...ind a solution by) myself
Soft: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kober.headset , and others, look for "headset control". This one has a trial version, yeahhhh ^^
EDIT: I'm putting everything worthwhile I find in this post, so as not to spread it all over the place.

does the Gnote able to accept the standard wired headphones w/mic from other brands for example: UE? i am on galaxy S and i have been searching for headphone w/mic to replace the original ones from samsung but as usual when i connect other brands of headphone w/mic to my S; all i can hear is the music.. whenever i am making calls the headphone fails me...

Bluetooth Headset?

Which is the best bluetooth headset which works with Galaxy Note? I want one can let me listen to music, talk in the phone and it has buttons to control volume & songs changing. Please kindly suggest some, thanks.
I have the SE MW600, I didn't get my Note yet but I have read in this forum it works well with the note.
A very nice BT headset with Called ID Display as a bonus
I'm using a Blueant T1 (http://www.myblueant.com/products/headsets/t1/) and it works fine with the Note.
I make no claims to how good it is compared to other BT headsets as its the only one I've owned, but it certainly works more than good enough for what I need.
EDIT: Wait, you need song changing too? Cancel the T1... it has volume up/down, and a voice command button (which doubles as accept/end call) but no media buttons.
yes, I need to one change songs with it as well. I want the Bluetooth headset as two side in-ear, I listen to mp3 alot, but the original headset has a cable and it always blocking me, that's why I want a bluetooth one.

so, Sony Ericsson is working for Samsung? How's the sound? I am picky in sound.
Oh well, for me, the sound is pretty good. But I am far from being picky
I have SE MW600, its voice quality is not that good (far end usually complains from low voice). in addition I'm facing trouble with it with me nexus one (It hangs up if I receive a missed call without till I restart it again). I think it's not good with Android as I tested it on non-Android device it worked good
I use the Nokia BH905, which is quite pricy, but the sound quality is excellent and works fine with the Note.

Yea, they do work with the standard music player, never tested it with Spotify, although they ain't seperate buttons (long press next = ff, long press last = rewind.)
Just got the note today and, for me, if works great with the mw600.
Voice quality is great by my standards and track info shows but not caller name.
I have ordered the JayBird Freedom headset. I mainly want to use it for music and audio books. Once I have received it I will provide some feedback on how well it works with the Note.
I use this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052XQFKE/
It's convertible meaning you can use it in your ear as a typical BT headset, attach the provided stereo headphones for music (includes a mic) or there is also an adapter that allows you to plug in any headphones you want. I drop the BT unit in my shirt pocket while listening to my Bose QC15's. Powers them quite well (9-hour battery life).
Highly recommened, especially since I got them for $10 after rebate.

I hope WP7.8/WP8 will soon get an update so all mics/music controls work as they should (or as they do on an iPhone, which has set a standard for lots of accessoires).
Jaybird BT Freedom 3 has excellent sound quality and reasonable battery life (about 5 hours of music). They're also sweatproof, which is nice for running. Check it out.
Cheers

Jays a-JAYS One+ (Want opinions/reviews)

I'm looking for a new pair of headphones.
The a-JAYS One+ look nice, i'm intrigued by the flat cable design.
Official link: http://www.jays.se/products/earphones/a-jays-one-plus.html
Are there any gnexus users that could answer some questions:
-How they hold up in daily usage?
-Does the flat cable (which looks more rigid), twist them out of your ear during movement more easily?
-Do they work without problems? The head phones with with those multi function button designs often don't work well.
-What can the button be used for on the gnexus? Calls? Music? (Play,Stop? or more?)
-I saw there is an extra app for it, whats up with that?
Any one using it with cm9 nightlies on his/her gnexus and can tell me if that works allright?
I'm currently using a pair of Sennheiser CX300, i'm not looking for an upgrade, i just need another pair, but i don't want to downgrade in quality either .
Mine arrived week. So far I like them. The bud sizes are a little wonky. The large is too large, and the size below it is to small.
Bass sounds good
Love the cable
They look good
Remote works perfectly on both cm9 music and Google play music app.
I can play, pause, answer calls, and adjust volume with the button.
Def worth the money.

Do you need their app for the button functions to work?
Does moving/running with the flat cable tend to pull the earbuds out easier than those with a normal cable?

Why ?

Best bluetooth headset with in-ear headphones

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Jeally Bean stock.
I love to listen to podcasts (BeyondPod Pro) and speak on voip applications like Skype, Viber and CSipSimple (a sip client).
Since I really hate wired earphones I would like to buy a wireless bluetooth headsets with in-ear buds. Some examples of these kind of products are:
- Sony Ericsson MW600
- Nokia BH-111
- Samsung HS3000 (no media player keys)
- Jabra Clipper (no media player keys)
These headsets have around the same price where I live (Northern Europe), but for example the last two lack media player buttons so I was more focused on buy the first one, the Sony Ericsson MW600.
My first concern is if all the buttons are going to work with the applications I use, as well as the incorporated microphone in voip applications.
As I already wrote before I use BeyondPod Pro to listen to podcasts and for me the volume buttons and the play/pause buttons would be vital.
At the same time I heard that voip applications like Skype don't recognize the microphone built on the headset. This would be really a problem since I should use the phone to call making the whole headset useless. I also use Viber (another voip application similar to Skype) and CSipSimple. In this case the volume button and the answer/terminate call button should be essential.
Other applications I use are MXPlayer Pro and YouTube for watching videos and Google music to listen to music.
What I want to ask is to know if someone has already these kinds of headsets and can confirm if these buttons and the microphone are all recognized, or if you know other devices which work for sure.
Thanks in advance!
See my response in the other forum.
I have Sony Ericsson MW600 & Motorola S10-HD (Bluetooth Sets). Everything is working but the sound quality in bluetooth can't match with the wired ones. If you are particular about sounds like i do... i recommend this Blaupunkt.

No I am not particular about sound since I like to hear podcast of only people speaking
Could you confirm that the buttons and mic work with the Sony MW600?
Thank you a lot in advance
I can confirm that the call button works and the mic works fine as well. Running CNA and can even display music titles, but not caller ID however doesn't work, only shows phone numbers
The Sony mw600 hands down. Great distance, great sound quality, great microphone and it rarely skips. Trust me on the distance. Works above and beyond any Bluetooth headset I've owned before. And you can buy your own earphones. The ones that come with it suck.
need more high def music...

Do the call buttons work with Skype, Viber and CSipSimple (I know this last one is not very famous)? You didn't specify this. What is CNA?

The ones it come they could suck but they are good because they have a very short wire, which is good since the headset has to be near the mouth. Could you confirm that the applications I need work with this headset?
Especially I am interested in BeyondPod (there is a free version with some default podcasts) and Skype and Viber,
Really thanks in advance!!!

And what about BeyondPod? There is a free version with some default podcasts. Could you please try if the ply/pause button, volume and next/rev buttons do all work?
Thanks still a lot!!!

You Sir must have hearing problems!
MW600 is terrible, bad design, poor quality sound and low volume.
Nokia BH -214 & Nokia BH -500 are better in every way by far!

I have a Motorola S200 or something, a red pair that wraps around your head.
Sounds good and has awesome range. I can walk anywhere in my house and rarely skips.

I have had two bluetooth earbuds the jabra backbeat go. They are great but battery only lasted 4 hours of non stop music then I got the jaybird bluebuds X. And i love then, they last all day(8 hours non stop) and sound better then my ibeats. They are expensive $170 but I found a 20 percent off coupon. The online store offers free shipping and no taxes.

I can't answer the above question, but I think the mw600 is very nice. I've had mine about 2 years and it has always been great.

The sound quality is rubbish compared to a Nokia headset (BH-500 or BH-214) but you need to try them to hear how bad the MW600 is, if the MW600 is the only one you ever heard you may not think its bad but belive me, it is, and the design is horrendous, the volume slider is touch sensitive and you cannot do anything like skip track or pause etc without touching it.
And the worst part is when you actually want to turn the volume up or down it doesn't respond. :banghead:
Sony got so many complaints about it they had to make a youtube video explaining how to use it!
Its amazing how many people give it a good review but when you actually find reviews from people that have owned it for more than a day like Amazon user reviews etc you get a better idea of how it is.
I bought it because of the great reviews people were giving it and i was hugely disappointed when i borrowed my friends Nokia to compare and was blown away by the difference in loudness, clarity and quality and its ease of use.
I always bought Sony in the past because i associate it with quality but something went terribly wrong with this.
I have a feeling the screen is to blame and is taking power from the amplifier.
Which ever you choose though, get some decent earphones although the ones that come with the Nokia 214 are pretty good for bundled earphones.
