I'd like to buy this tablet, but I found there's no market app and I have the installation .apk file extracted from nexus one.
Can I install this market in order to get other applications from there?

I read that, but I'd wait until the 14 days trial is over, so I have to be sure the .apk manual install works before installing update.
I have the Elocity A7 but since it lacks a true capacitive multi-touch screen i bought this tablet http://www.brandsdragon.com/products/product_30627.htm just to play around with. Its only $153 shipped to the US.

Installing apks manually works fine. Some apps still won't work, but in general, it works fine. But you won't be able to install just the market (vending.apk) without most of what Dexter has put in his ElocityMod.

Actually, I already have another tablet purchased for $180. It has Android Market but I couldn't find slingplayer, so I have to extract it from rooted XT720 and install, but soon I found the video quality is poor (slow), so I am wondering will A7 work with slingplayer.
Even it doesn't have Market, I can extract the apps from rooted nexus one and XT720 and "side load" them.

I just got my a7 yesterday after purchasing a archos 70 (250gb) and bricking it in about 25 minutes trying to install android market i returned it and picked up thiS tablet. although it doest have multi touch, and anywhere near as big of a hard drive i still am happy that i went with this. It runs much faster than the archos and i love having the option of using my memory stick with it. What i hate is it cant be pluged directly to my pc and copy files over that way, and that pinch to zoom doesnt work properly since this doesnt have a real multitouch capacitive screen. If i wasnt able to get market capabilities i would not have kept the device and to be honest i still might return it within my 30 days and pick up somthing else.
to get Market and google aps installed i recomend using Dexters Mod (available at dext3r.komodin.org or you can search for him here on xda). It is real simple to use. here is quick rundown in a few short steps on how i did it.
1. download 'ElocityMod v1.0c.rar' to your pc
2. rename the 'ElocityMod v1.0c' to 'update.rar'
3. copy 'update.rar' from your pc to my memory stick (or you can use a micro sd card)
4. insert memory stick into elocity a7
5. go to 'settings' - 'about device' - 'System updates' - 'Update device'
6. it update using dexters mod and gave me market capabilities as well as the android layout i am accustomed to without elocitys crapy UI.
Now, as for apps, i havent had any aps that did not work yet on my a7. I am currently runing ADW Home, google voice (cant make calles but lets me SMS), youtube, xda-dvelopers forum app, avg antivirus (freee), aBTC, and WinAmp and all work fine so far. I have seen many posts complaining tha they are having issues with runing apps not made for the A7 but i am yet to run into any issues.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK DEXTER FOR ALL HIS HARD WORK! DONT KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT HIS MOD FILE!

the cpu doesn't compare to the tegra2. it doesn't seem to have accelerometer. i wouldn't go for one of these. a couple months ago, i went for a cheap $120 7" tablet from a no name in china - total junk. then i decided to get the elocity a7. i'm pleased with it now, except for the screen... now i'm thinking i should have just went with galaxy tab... if only galaxy tab had their next gen (dual core) processor in it...

what a pity ! i really don't know where i can get good quality and low price items , many China online shop have low price but the products are junk indeed .

I am new at this. I am trying to get the Android market on mu eLocity A7. I down loaded the file per your directionin the thread and the file I down loaded is "ElocityModv10c.zip". Your instructions in your thread say to rename the file .rar. I tried running the .zip file but it would not run. Does your instruction refer to renaming the zip file from ElocityModv10c.zip to ElocityModv10c.rar? Please advise what I am doing wrong

First, the latest one is the ElocityMod v1.1. That is what you want to install.
Second, the "ElocityModv11.zip" should be renamed "Update.zip".

I did as you suggested and everything loaded correctly. However, when it did a reboot, it simply cycles the elocity logo every 6-7 seconds. Any suggestions?

Hold the power button fot 12 to 15 seconds to power of the device. Then turn it back on.
If that dosen't clear you issue try Booting into recovery and select "wipe data/factory reset", then reboot.
I like the cheap price

Did you get this tablet yet?
It seems like they might be falsifying information on the site. The linked tablet has a Telechips TCC8902 which doesn't have a 2.2 (Froyo) out on any of the mainstream tablets with that same chip i.e. Gentouch 78 and the Coby Kyros, they both have 2.1 (Eclair.) The touchscreen is resistive and NOT capacitive so, I'm not sure about multitouch. Also, the TCC8902 chip has GL issues so 3D games like Angry birds, Aslphalt5, and others with have graphics issues.
I owned a Coby Kyros which has pretty much the same hardware and returned it simply becasue of the graphics issues and got the eLocity A7.

I have applied Dexter's mods since 1.0 and they have made my Elocity A7 a wonderfully usable tablet. Otherwise it was more of a $299.00 door stop
All kidding aside, thanks Dexter. But since applying the 1.4 mod, the market place is not allowing me install apps that were available previously. I've been reading for solutions but not finding anything yet.
Has anyone else found this problem and a way to fix it?

First a correction, mod 1.41 with display patch. The following apps will not install for example:
Dolphin Browser HD
SliceIt
Adobe Flash Player 10.2 hulu fix
Voice Search
There are more but I cannot recall them all. I was able to load these from backups but would like to know what has changed to cause the new problem.
I can tell you that I had backed out 1.3 and restored to 1.2 so was using the older version of market. Wondering if the new version is not happy with Elolcity?

I have always had PES 2011 on my Desire. It's not amazing but plays quite well and runs fine, its a great time killer.
Recently I have updated my ROM (this may or may not be related) to the latest MIUI XJ release. I have been going through and installing all my apps but noticed that PES 2011 doesnt show on my list of purchased apps I tried searching for the app on the market and can't find it so I looked on the market website via my PC and found it but it is showing as "not compatible"
I have already emailed the devs requesting more info, I've searched Google and these forums but can't find any info so I wondered if anyone here has had this issue? Could it be due to me installing the MIUI ROM? All my other apps work fine

Nope. It has nothing to do with your ROM because it is not compatible for me too. More likely this is because the developer felt that PES can no longer run smoothly on phones like the Desire (probably because new features were added) and hence updated the requirements to run the app in the app Manifest. So maybe you ask the developer to give you an older version of the app or something?
Good that it's not just me that can't see it then. Poor that the developers make you pay for an app then we can't use it!
I've emailed the developers, I'm just waiting for a response. If you like I could give you a shout when I get a reponse from the devs?

On my Nexus YouTube was preinstalled.. which rom have you got? Normally you should be able to download youtube from the play store... or maybe it is country-specific?

YouTube works fine, what I did:
I COPIED THE YOUTUBE.APK FROM MY BACKUP DATA.TAR AND I INSTALLED IT TO MY NEXUS, IT LOOKS DIFFERENT

Still though, it's strange that the Play Store says YouTube is not compatible. I'm hoping this get ironed out soon...I like to convert as many system apps as possible into Play Store user apps. This also means you cannot manage YouTube from the web interface on other devices. Same deal with Google Wallet btw.

This is because you are running an OS that is not yet released. Same problem when ICS first came out. We just need to wait until devs update their apps to support Android 4.1
Hi Folks
Pretty much a noob at all this roms and apk stuff, however when I got my HOX I was desperate to get Google Music on it. As I live outside the US I had to side load it, I think from an apk I got here.
My HOX hasnt been rooted or anything so still using the vanilla Android 4.0.3, and only recently thought about updating the music app (hadnt considered that the store wouldn't provide the updates automatically)
Music is at version 4.0.9.509.
I see lots of newer apks around for G Music, but most have indications that they are for JellyBean, but with no info on if this excludes ICS.
Can I update to recent versions while still in ICS?
If yes, should I upgrade incrementally, i.e. from one version to the next or can I just install the most recent immediately?
The site I have found for latest apk that has the most clarity is iapktop.com has anybody used this site before? is it recommended or have people had problems from it?

Thought this would be real easy 1 minute answer for you guys running around with your mods and roms and whatnots.
I did try Googling etc for this info, but everyone assumes you already know such basic stuff
So, not in a long future I am going to buy Ouya android gaming console, cause I have found pretty great deal. But I heard that the "Ouya Store" is shutdown + most of Ouya titles are arcade-type of games...
So I have a big big big request, if you still have pre-installed games on your Xperia Play phone could you back them up for me to .apk format and kindly include the data (.obb file)?? <3 unfortunately I had sold my phone few years back and since it had playstation controlls I think it could run well on ouya (I hope this ain't against XDA forum rules)
Please, help me out <3 cause I would love to play some The Sims 3 or Bruce Lee or some since delete EA or Gameloft Games (like Nova or Dead Space ) on full screen.
p.s i have look over the internet for the xperia play version of the sims 3 (com.ea.thesims3 not the other one) and it is nowhere to be found so please help me out here.

Though I'm not sure they will work on any other device.

If you managed to get Crash working, could you upload the files for that? I'm talking about the .apk and .zpak files. I'm only asking you because I can't seem to get it working on my device (but then again I've got a custom ROM and unlocked bootloader...) and I'm not particularly keen on returning my phone entirely to stock for the possibility of maybe managing to download it myself.
You actually can take out the game apks from the firmwares, so actually dont need to reflashing many times of your device at all.
Though i've some question to ask. Im own the Asphalt 6 HD before buying at the Gameloft website at old times (but when installed the game is not HD at all), but the game refuse to download the data, thou im still thinking why is not working anymore in this year but when im use the game apk from the Japanese FW, (this is the truely HD) and the game just works. If there any way to bypass it, please PM me. Many others Gameloft games that i've buy and own is not working anymore, but only from the Firmwares still works.
