easiest thing is to install a new launcher, say, ADW or LauncherPro or Zeam or whatever, (I hear Trebuchet is out) and then enable that new launcher as Default... and by doing that you disable the stock launcher.
But never ever disable or uninstall or kill a launcher unless you have another one waiting in the wings to take over.
launcher is nothing more than an apk

I have the Tablet version of Go Launcher installed but I wanted to disable the stock launcher so that it isn't running in the background with Go Launcher just running over top of it.
Edit: I used Titanium Backup to freeze the stock launcher and after a reboot everything is fine. I'll probably end up renaming the Launcher.apk to Launcher.bak so that TiBu doesn't have to do the work.
I don't have any problems running another launcher. But remember you can't get access to the kindle stuff if you get rid of or disable the stock launcher. I have mine linked on my homescreen, so the stock launcher runs more like an app for me.

Go Launcher Ex uninstall = Black Home screen bug

i was using go launcher ex and when i uninstall it, my home screen was stuck with a black home screen with only notification bar at top ..... A chance i had made a ROM backup with Rom Manager earlier or my phone will still be stuck on that black home screen.
Hard reset didnt help to repair phone
Lg support tool application from Lg website didnt work too
I wrote this post just to share my experience with Go Launcher Ex and i will never and ever re-install a Go products.
I may be mistaken but it sounds like you didn't have another launcher enabled when you uninstalled go launcher ex. That's why you ended up with the black screen with the notification bar.
Hi,
did you uninstall the LG Home Launcher before installing GoLauncher? If so, you don't have a launcher installed on your phone right now. In that case it's more your personal failure than a problem with GoLauncher... sorry.
Your Android Phone needs a Launcher. If you uninstall the stock launcher you have to make sure that already another one is in place and vice versa. If not it will end with the black screen you mentioned.
Good luck next time.

Cool down, i thought you want some help? It was my guess, because exact the same thing happened to me back in the days...
Where is your LG Home launcher now?
I bet the stock launcher is frozen via TiBu.

Yeah something like this, its definitly deactivated... not a specific GoLauncher problem. Would be interesting to know, where the LG Home Launcher is hiding.

Good question ...... i was able to receive call, sms, but wasnt able to make call (because of black screen) the Rom manager backup had save my phone
i just weird that the uninstallation had hide/remove/delete etc the Lg launcher....
I see, had the same problem once as i'd no-bloated the LG Launcher. I also had to restore my backup, no way to get the launcher installed again.
That's what happened to me, but luckily I have Debug mode enabled so I just connect the phone with PC, and use adb shell to launch Titanium Backup to defrost the Home launcher.
So if you luckily have Debug mode enabled before you black-screen accident:
1. Install Android SDK on your PC which include adb shell
2a. If you froze the Home launcher with TiBu and want to defrost it, open adb shell from command line and follow this link to launch Titanium Backup: stackoverflow.com/questions/4567904/how-to-start-an-application-using-android-adb-tools
2b. If for some reason 2a doesn't work, or you didn't froze the LG Home launcher but it is not loaded for some reasons, reinstall Go Launcher or any other launchers using Sideload Wonder Machine (google for it)

A good tip for all is: always enable debug mode then you can solve a lot of problems with your PC!

Deleted nova launcher app-Bootloop-just been dum :(

Hello members
I had a little fit this morning after my screen lock did not lock the screen. Nova Launcher pushed through an update as well as Google yesterday. Anyway, I thought it must be Nova, so I tried to uninstall instead of switching to Goole Launcher. The uninstall option was not available so I went to Titanium App and deleted Nova Launcher. What a stupid idea that was.
So I am stuck in bootloop and cannot get onto the home screen. I made an install zip file with an earlier Nova Launcher to install through TWRP. It said install successful though no change. Still bootloop.
Is anyone here who would have time and could help me ? Thanks
ROM is ArchiDroid V3.1.5

Reflash your rom without doing anything else.
And next time post your questions in the q & a thread specific for your device not this section
Ok, thanks. My apology for using the wrong subforum. Regards G

Tried to install G5 Home launcher on my G4 and now i'm stuck with EasyHome only

Guys, i tried to install the G5 launcher from apk mirror (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/lgelectronics/homeux-4-0/), there was an error or something and now i can only select Easy Home as launcher. The Home&App Drawer (stock G4 Launcher) is no longer compatible and can't select it. I dont even understand how this could happen because i dont have root and my phone is stock.
Also i cant just uninstall updates for Launcher because there is not this option. I dont know hot to go back without a factory reset and that would be time consuming.
Do you guys mind to post the Stock G4 Launcher apk here so i can give it a try ?

Default Lenovo launcher on every reboot. How to set permanently another launcher?

Ok, so my problem is somehow stupid. I've installed evie launcher, made it my default but every time I reboot my phone I'm welcomed by Lenovo Launcher. How to fix this irritating issue?
Nope, I do not want to install custom roms, all I need is a rooted stock with custom kernel I tried to make evie system app but it didn't work for me, also I want to keep LL "justincase".
Found a temporary solution. Renamed Lenovo_Launcher.apk to Lenovo_Launcher.apk.bak.
