[Q] A-Jays One Plus - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Does anyone actually have this and uses it with the T-989? I'm really interested in buying it for mine but I don't want to if it's not worth it.
I've seen some people say they work fine with our phone along with the app, and some say it doesn't work at all. I'm just trying to find a first hand opinion here.
Thanks!

Thinking about getting TP2.

I have been thinking for a while that I like the look of this phone. Mainly the hardware keyboard, I've not tried the phone at all yet so I thought I would ask here what everyone thinks of it?
At the moment I have a TD2 (Topaz) and as far as I can tell the 2 phones are very similar but I want to know from the people who know the phone best (you lot ) would it be worth switching?
Thanks loads,
Luke.

I like mine. It is a heavy phone, but the keyboard is great. I wrote a review on Amazon (got mine from the wireless store there). My review is entitle "Good Phone But Needs Customization", and there are several good reviews there.

I think you might do well with an Google search for the specific carrier you will be using, and another for the basic phone itself.
Note that I'm on the US T-Mobile network.

Thanks for the reply,
I looked at the link you showed and something that puts me off the phone (sadly, the only thing) is the 3.2 mp camera, which, to me, is too low as I'm now used to the 5mp on my Topaz. But I do think the keyboard could swing me on that xD
I would buy it unlocked and put my vdafone sim in it as I did with my topaz (pricey but no ties anywhere)
Thanks again
I don't know much about touch diamond 2 but from this link:

Besides getting a bigger phone you're also looking at a slightly downgraded camera by moving to touch pro2.

Blasphemous...I know :(

Is there a custom wp7 rom for the Nexus One? I ask this because I just upgraded to an Atrix and would like to have a wp7 for my wife to try out. I'm really trying to get her into smartphones. Any help and/or direction would be great.

Nope since WP7 is the property of Microsoft and such. The closest would be trying Metro UI Launcher in the market. I used to use that but after getting a Focus I can say that even though it's an amazing launcher, it's a farcry from the real experience of WP7.
Thanks for the response. One more question. You said it was a far cry from wp7. Do you think Metro UI offers enough of an experience somewhat similar to the real thing so it would satisfy her curiosity? She has 0 experience with smartphones, so I was wondering if I could just kind of toss that at her and say "Try this out, if you like it I'll get you a wp7?"

I would say it does. It's one of the better WP7 UIs around. But just stick with the main pages and don't get into customizing the appearance. It can get complicated.
Awesome! Thanks guys!
How is that Atrix anyways

Its pretty nice. It was $119 at Costco with a bunch of cheap accessories included. I do miss the trackball on the N1. I was running cyanogen mod on my N1 and going to Motoblur isn't all that bad, but I'll probably get rid of it eventually and go back to Launcher Pro. The phone is more than powerful enough to handle blur. The screen is really nice. The back cover is weird though, it snaps on, is super thin, and really flexible. Overall, I think it is well made. I've been a moto fan though since the E1, so I'm just excited to see they are doing well again.

Why don't you just take her to an AT&T to try out a phone?

I was in a similar situation. Wife didn't want a new phone, especially not one of my huge hard-to-use smartphones (I had an HD2 previously). But I went ahead and ordered her a Omnia 7 anyway (I really wanted to have one car mount etc). When the phones arrived I just gave her the box and left it up to her what to do with it - and the next day she finally opened it and had a look. Turns out she absolutely loves it and would never go back. Must have been real easy to get going with also as she didn't ask any questions during setup - after she only asked how to get FB chat, Messenger and a few other functions.
So I'd say, just get her one. Chances she won't like it are slim.

Requesting powermat for our devices

Hey everyone,
Even back in my n900 days I so wanted a Powermat. Now that I've got a (what could be) somewhat popular device, I was hoping they'd make one for it.
Anyone else interested, or am I alone in this?
If there are enough of us, I suggest we all send emails to them requesting that they build one!
it's doubtful that they would...feeling adventurous?
you can probably hack it to work with a touchstone.

[Q] $50-200 phone searched

hey guys,
sorry if this is the wrong section - it seemed to me that it would be the best fit though. please move it, if its wrong.
my sisters iphone 2g got wet yesterday and doesn't function correctly now. she asked me if i could get her a new phone for up to $200. doesn't need to be an iphone, only requirements are gps, camera, facebook, whatsapp, internet functionality. so pretty much any smartphone. brand and software doesn't matter.
i don't know what the market looks like right now, so i thought i might ask people that do. i am pretty happy with my sgs2 and know that there are similar 'little brothers' for much lower prices. do you know which phone has the best price performance ratio?
thanks in advance!
i would take pretty much anything ...
took a look at the samsung gio gts-5660. any recommendations?
I have an Inspire 4g that fulfils all your requirements. please PM if you are interested

OnePlus One (Long Post)

Hey everyone, although I really love my captivate glide, I'm sad to say that it is time for me to get a new phone. Since I first got the phone, I've flashed about 10 different ROMs on it, had three different batteries, an external battery charger (fried the charger on the actual phone from overheating), and even cracked the top of the screen. Although the phone has been through a lot, it is still going strong, except quite a bit slower than when I first got it. Nevertheless, as I have grown to love the XDA forums, and rooting, flashing ROMs, etc., I am going to be buying a OnePlus One. If you haven't heard of it, the OnePlus One is a phone that just came out about a month ago that comes pre-loaded with Cyanogenmod. However, the phone is not readily available for anyone to buy it. It requires an invite to be purchased for its high demand as it has flagship specs for only $300. Regardless, I feel that I will be receiving an invite for the phone soon as I have been on their forums for quite a while as well. My question is, Have any of you heard of this phone or are trying to get it? If so, please inform me as when I get my invitations to give out, the first people I would give them to are the members in this forum Although I haven't been very active on here, I still do appreciate all the work being done to keep this phone alive. And even when I get the OnePlus One, I will still keep my good old captivate glide to test out new ROMs. That's all. Thanks.
