No One X/One S Forum in Compact View? - About xda-developers.com

As the thread title states. I can see the devices in the Expanded forum list but not the compact view. Why is that?

I just noticed this myself about 5 minutes ago. Will pass it on to the admin. Thanks for the heads up

Thanks.
I wasn't expecting a One X forum until a release date was announced and I only use the Compact View. So to find it packed with so many threads was a bit disappointing because now I have SOOOO much to catch up with. Can't believe there's a 50 page thread already (and I have more than the default number of posts per page!!)

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Subforums

Hi,
Don't know if this was here before, but I didn't find anything with the search function.
Since the Xperia hit shelves some days ago and is becoming more popular each day, I wanted to request a split of the subforum. Actually I'm not the only one who thinks this would make sense -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437444
Its becoming more confusing every day mixing program/modification requests with other general stuff. Since Olipro & cmonex are working on a HardSPL, its only a matter of time (if they get it working - which I have no doubt) when Xperia ROMS will be published.
So please give the Xperia an own subforum with seperate general and modification subforums.
best regards
you mean this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=436
I mean to split that forum. One subforum is becoming more confusing every day ...
Would be nice to have a dedicated subforum with 2-3 subforums for general stuff, modifications and maybe accessories.
yes please would be really great to have an own section one forum is alittle bit strange already
Yes plese could we have subfourms as well.
Subforums would be nice.
Especially before the single forum gets to overcrowded with posts/topics.
Appreciate it once it's done.
Great forum board.
Without it my X1 would be a former shadow of what it is now.
I'm loving all the tweaks & updates
I agree, it needs to be subsplit, the one forum is already getting very busy and looks to be getting more popular all the time.
it already has more threads than some of the other devices combined.
I'd suggest the same as the Diamond, 4 sections, Standard, Rom Dev, Accessories and Apps/Themes.
retty please:
yeah, subforum needed! (as previously requested in xperia forum itself )
+1 for X1 sub forum
So who do we talk to about this?
Dedicated standard 3-forum layout for the X1 would be great. This has to be the most popular non HTC branded phone to date.
Nigel
i agree subforums would be great
maybe even 4 on just for apps and one just for panels then one for roms and another for accessories
Would be great with an Xperia subforum before the posts in the general thread grows more. It's kind of messy as it is.
Would be great with a Xperia Subforum with 3 or 4 categories
Agreed, we need a proper forum.
thank you for the xperia subforum
here is an image for it http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/5192/xperiaxdavc3.png (made by me starting from promotional)

Phone brand general section

I just today noticed the "compact view" of the XDA home forum page. (where all phones are listed) Now I had a idea. Why not add a General section for each brand? (ex. Samsung General ) this way people can ask talk and discuss things like what samsungs doing with phone's and maybe even lessen the amount of thread's people create, (ex. Evo 3D coming soon! (( as im sure there prolly has been about 2-4 threads of that in almost every phone community most likely.))
Well I'm sure you get the point of the idea for the most part.
P.S. Yes i know 3vo has released already, was an example.

[Q] No HTC Windows Phone 8X/8S forums?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask this... there are so many boards here, it's a little daunting, and I couldn't seem to find a board that's a better fit. ^^'
Anyway, I noticed there are no forums for the HTC Windows Phone 8X or 8S. Now, I don't know if these are available everywhere yet, but at least in the UK they are launching at the end of the month, or at least the SIM-free versions are, according to amazon.co.uk. I pre-ordered the 8S and it is supposed to come on Tuesday. So, will a forum for the 8X and 8S, or separate ones for both, be made? And will that only happen upon their release?
I agree, there should be a forum for the 8X/8S models.
And I think you should both search for the right place to post this as there is a thread called something like 'New Forum Suggestions' already where this should be. Sorry I can't give the exact link but I'm on my phone right now.
Please use this thread for all device forum requests. Thread closed.

Did you know about the HTC 10 Real Life Review section?

Hey,
First time in a while i used the XDA Homepage and not Tapatalk on my phone to browse the forums.
On the right side a saw this "Real life review" between General and custom roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/review
Seems to be knew on XDA?
You can rate the threads which will result in an overall rating. You can even comment the specific topics with a short review
As the most viewed topic had about 140 views i guessed that this feature is not really well known. Most other are about 25-40 views.

Most dev friendly phone calculation

Okay, I'm looking for a new phone. I've been on this site (maybe not having an active account but using it at least) since I got my first Android phone. This site has been a beacon or at least a jumping off point to anyone who has wanted to get into customizing and modding their phones for YEARS.
This gave me the idea of why not have the forum statistics posted in an easily viewable format? I figure the phone with the most activity should be the most developer friendly phone (or the most popular one anyway, and I know just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good.) Still I believe phones with more activity are probably more friendly to devs than those with less activity, because they're in the hands of more people looking for exploits/vulnerabilties to make the phone do what they want it to do (and then hopefully patch those as well.)
Now indeed there are a LOT of spam posts as well, I see them when I get nostalgic and visit the Atrix 4G forums. Maybe you can filter out all the 1 or 2 post accounts/anything that has gotten banned from those metrix somehow?
it would be good idea, but at the same time, not good idea.
imagine how much that would make this forum even messier?
how search engine will handle such tasks?
popularity quickly changes, and there are no way to determine what is popular or not.
if post is getting a lot of views, is that indicator?
a lot of downloads? what if he post download on third party website?
and, when devs release ROM, mod, they go silent for some time, so they can develop more ..
as, indicator can't be what is viewed mostly, and what is downloaded mostly.
think of something that will make it do automatically, to determine what is popular or not.
as computer algorithm can mark some old phone dev friendly, because it have a lot of views, or posts, and when you look at those posts, you see it don't make sense, posts are about "how to unlock this unlockable phone".
TL; DR
there's no way to instruct it properly (machine), and it will clutter forum and forum search even more,
but we can make separate section which is maintaned by all moderators, so one person don't have to handle all., and that section can be properly handled by search engine in forum.
