Which Case for Samsung Galaxy S2 X T989D - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi - could someone advise me which case would fit the Telus Samsung Galaxy S2 X?
I am in the U.S. and bought this phone but need a case.
Would one of the popular ones from Amazon fit?
Thanks!

if you phone the same as t-mobile galaxy s II, look here

Well that's the Issue, I was hoping someone here would be able to tell me if it is the same and same cases apply.

Yes, the same cases for the T-Mobile T989 will fit the T989D for Telus perfectly.
I ordered my Seidio Active Case with Kickstand and Holster from the US and it was specific to the T-Mobile T989 model and it fits perfectly.
The phones are identical, the only difference is the writing on the front of the phone. Mine says Samsung at the top and nothing at the bottom, just the settings, home, back and search buttons. I believe on the T-Mobile model it says T-Mobile at the top and says Samsung at the bottom. Other than that they are the same phone.

If you have doubts you can always walk into a t-mobile store. I'm sure they have a live unit on display you can hold your's up to for comparison.

They are 100% the same
As stated above, the only cosmetic difference is the T989D just says "Samsung" at the top of the screen where the T989 is branded "T-Mobile"

make sure you dont purchase a case for the att skyrocket. its external speaker is on the opposite side.
the skyrocket and t989 can use eachothers roms, radios, but not cases.

Thanks for the feedback, I went with the TPU best selling case for this phone from Amazon to just keep it simple

I'm looking for an extended battery set with cover for the T989D (samsung galaxy S2X)
Of course the market has only sets for the T989 minus the D.
Are you saying that the dimensions of T989 and T989D are similar enough such that the battery cover will interchangeably fit?
PDADB.NET seems to indicate otherwise, as the dimensions indicated are different.

They are physically the same phone. I believe I have a seido (sp?) 3800 ext battery and case if interested. Otherwise, I have a BNIB CDMA Gnex ext battery that will fit with stock cover.. some may need Minor mods. but if using a case then doesnt really matter.

what case do you have working with the T989D with extended battery? (just to clarify, case = full body case, NOT a battery cover).

[Q]Case for Samsung Epic Touch & T-Mobile SGS2 compatible?

So I'm having a horrible time finding a case that I want...but I saw one that says its for the Epic Touch 4G - looks very similar to ours...will the cases fit??
no T-Mobiles SGSII is more rounded the the Epic 4G Touch i don't think cases would be interchangeable
The only Galaxy S II that is very similar in design would be the T989D (Telus) variant.

no you cant
i wish people would stop saying this
the speaker on the back of the phone is on the opposite side of the phone ... among other differences
I have a friend who has a skyrocket with a case, so i was able to compare. Couple differences:
1. The speaker is on the other side of the phone (meaning if you use a skyrocket case itll cover the speaker).
2. The Camera is actually slightly bigger on the tmobile version vs the skyrocket, so again, the camera won't fit in the hole in the case.
3. The tmobile version is slightly thinner. This in itself isn't enough to make the cases not fit, although they won't fit snugly. (Granted with number 1 and 2, though, this is a moot point.)

Beware of ebay cases though, I've bought a few & none of them have fit. There seems to have been an issue with the dummy phones the manufacturers used to make them, all the cases I've gotten were either too loose or wouldn't stay snapped shut. I've gotten refunds and the sellers have told me that the manufacturers are issuing recalls of the defective cases & are working on fixing their molds, so I'd actually stay away from ebay for a while unless its for brand name stuff like d30, ballistic, body glove, incipio, etc...

has anyone tried the Verizon extended battery on the Sprint model? It doesn't work on the GSM so might not work on the Sprint either.

The Verizon extended battery cover does not fit the sprint galaxy nexus. I went to a Verizon store to see if it would, and the cover tabs do not align properly. You might be able to grind the one tab that is misaligned, but the cover wouldn't fit as snug. The battery looks like it fits, has nfc and the same electrical specs, but the part number is not the same for the 1850 mAh stock size.

Thanks, was just about to pull the trigger on one. Shame, I really want the 2100 mAh battery.
Sucks was hoping that the verizon battery will work on sprint. Guess have to wait then
So even though the Sprint and Verzion websites list slightly different sizes I would be fine getting this case? http://www.shopandroid.com/seidio-active-case-with-kickstand/4A54A9572.htm

The LTE Extended battery does NOT fit. As a previous poster said, the tabs on the back cover are different. Also, the cover is lighter in color. The sprint galaxy nexus is a dark titanium, where as the Verizon is a lighter titanium color. So we just have to wait for sprint to release there own version, if they ever do
As for the cases, those should all fit fine. I have the Rinke *sp* and that fits good. it snaps in perfectly, but since there is room for the extended battery, the lower back half has a little flex if pressed on.
I also have the incipio NGP and double cover, both fit perfectly
I just went to Verizon and got the car dock. Works and fits perfect..
Verizon accesories
My preordered phone arrived on Friday. I rushed out that evening to find a screen protector and case. I found the ZAGG screen protector at Best Buy but was disappointed with the case that they were offering. Luckily a Verizon store was across the street. I was offered 6 different cases. I went with an INCIPIO DOUBLE COVER. Fits like a glove.
Extended Battery
The cover does not fit but if you cut off the two little tabs it does fit. The extended battery does also work. I've been using the regular and the extended since Friday. It also works if you get the seidio extended BT Case Cover or the Ringke Slim Case CDMA version.
It looks better with the case on than the VZ cover. I hope sprints makes an Extended cover.
I hope this helps.
soooo.... pic 1 kinda looks like ass.... is that AFTER cutting the tabs????
i tried this myself in the verizon store it didnt look like it would fit right.
All those pics were taken after cutting the tabs.

Wow. If that's how the VZW back fits around the Sprint CDMA Camera, these two phones are vastly different in size.

I ordered the verizon extended battery and cover and cut the two tabs off, it works fine and does not look like it would come loose. I also ordered the siedo surface case for the Verizon phone with extended battery to hide the ugly verizon logo ;-)
Geoff
Don't suppose anybody out there would make a battery door that would fit the verizon battery, only instead of having the verizon logo, have the google logo like the GSM?

[SOLVED]Otterbox Defender Case Compatibility

Ok ,so there is only one option on the Otterbox website.Does it fit both the GSM and CDMA Nexus or is it only for one device?
According to the model numbers on the cases one is designed for the GSM version and a separate is for CDMA. That being said, be wary with the otterbox defender as it has been reported to actually scratch that phone as the phone sits in the plastic shell and does have a tiny amount of room for movement.

Yup.
I noticed this instantly, mostly when plugging/unplugging the charger. Installed the oem extended battery and now it doesnt move. As well dirt/lint always managed to get in the otterbox and bugged the hell out of me when is stayed in the screen, added a zagg protector and it doesnt do that, kept the otterbox screen protector too.
I have the gsm version as well. I added a couple small strips of microfiber on the inside of the defender and installed a zagg screen protector. I also removed the OEM otter box screen protector. The setup works very nicely. No movement at all.

As far as I know, there isn't one. Last month Otterbox customer service confirmed to me via email that their Defender case for the Galaxy Nexus was designed for the Verizon version.
If there is a GSM version, I'd love to know about it.

No movement on mine
I bought this one from amazon and its the otterbox defender series,I have a sprint nexus. I have had no movement with my phone in the case it fits snuggly in there. I looked at ottbox.com and it was 50 bucks. While I do like the case and would pay that much, Its half the price on amazon.

Lol,I ordered mine from the same seller!Great to know there aren't any problems with it. Update:Just found out that the Sprint & Verizon stock batteries are 1850 mAh vs the GSM version @ 1750 mah.Shouldn't be much of a difference.
I decided to get the Kraken case instead. Its good so far and has no fitment issues with my GSM Galaxy Nexus.
Just received my Defender and I love this thing! Some of you were saying that the phone moves slightly but mine doesn't. Anyways, I'm not complaining. Thank you all for your help and advice

Just bought the purple version for my wife's phone. She beats the hell out of her phone so I figured the Defender would be the best choice. I'm really hoping there's no movement inside the case.

[Q] Can someone tell me the difference between these phones.

I just got my galaxy nexus off ebay.
Im on sprint so i have the toro-plus and i am interested in buying a new bumper case and back door cover.
Most of the cases on ebay are for either the gsm model or verizon lte model and people warn thats theres differences.
Does the verizon lte cases fit the sprint model? And back door covers?
or Do Gsm case and back door fit?
OR... Do i have to look up L700 sprint model for both cases and door covers.
Thanks
The Sprint and Verizon models are physically the same size, so any Verizon case will fit.
The GSM model is slightly thinner than the others. It has a different shaped battery and back cover. The batteries and back doors are not compatible with CDMA models.
Cases for the most part have enough give in them to work on either GSM or CDMA models, simply because the differences in the thickness are so small. There may be a few cases that are extremely form-fitting to the device that may not fit properly. Just go with CDMA cases if you're really unsure.
The back plates are incompatible between the Verizon and Sprint model I think... I'd double check that.

I read alot of post where people posted that their extended batteries fit inside the normal cases.
Im looking to get the extended battery with door(for sprint). Does it make the phone any fatter or its just a weight issue.
Thanks

Some have been able to squeeze the extended battery in with the stock cover. The OEM extended battery + cover does make it slightly thicker and heavier.

[Q] Genuine Samsung Extended Battery Kit for Galaxy S3 Question

I have a question about this Official Extended battery.
http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Samsung-Extended-Battery-3000mAh/dp/B00BMQ56QE/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t
Will it work on an AT&T Galaxy S3 or is it made for unlocked/overseas versions?
Also, if it does work on my phone what good protection cases are out there that will fit my phone after this is used?
Thank you all
AJ
Yes it works on the all north american galaxy S3 phones, I have one.
One thing you should know is that if you take the extended battery cover off and on alot, it develops small cracks in the corners and you can't buy replacement covers, harmless but annoying
