Am not a developer, nor a theme designer...but i do try stuff out of curiosity, so i laid my hands on framework-res.apk. Even i wanted a transparent path for the lock screen. But somehow i failed and screwed the lock screen. Will try it later and will post the shots. But before you try it...make sure to have a nandroid backup!

I have already a backup there I was able to mod transparent folder and transparent appraiser background and the home buttons but still search the lockscreen background

Hi cx- These are the files u need to edit to make any changes in lock screen, u can either make them transparent, or add anything text, image etc. to that.
slider_bg_left.png
slider_bg_right.png
slider_bg.png
These files are located in framework.res "folder = drawable-hdpi"

*UPDATED! SEMI-TRANSPARENT APP-DRAWER* Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus/SII Style

*UPDATE*
I have now made the app-drawer semi-transparent like in Galaxy Ace+ or Galaxy SII. I have replaced the Touchwiz30Launcher.apk in the attatchments, so just re-download and replace it in system/app and change permissions to:
R W
R
R
and re-boot.
New screenshots below
Very similar to SGA+ now!
have a look...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCkdBpocSzA
app-drawer at 00.37 seconds in the video
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey everyone. Iv just recently registered for this forum, iv been visiting it quite a lot lately and trying many new things. Anyway to get to the point...
Iv downloaded and tried many Touchwizlauncher.apk and systemui.apk from various threads and iv modded a few things to make it look like how i wanted, and it looks remarkably close to the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. I would just like to share the things that make my Ace look like the screens below for anyone who would like to use it.
I have made the dock transparent in the homescreen, and in the appdrawer. Also I edited the dropdown menu in systemui slightly on the bit where you slide it up and down. (see screenshots)
As i have said, iv been downloading and trying lots of different things so i cant remember which users i downloaded the original files from before i modded them, so i would like to apoligise but i would also like to thank the original makers. Credits go to original makers, i just slightly changed a few things as u can see in the screenshots. like transparent dock in the app drawer. also i edited the drop-down menu slightly.
Also, If anyone could take my Touchwiz30launcher.apk and make the appdrawer SEMI-TRANSPARENT instead of fully transparent that would be amazing!
Thankyou!
Note:
The zip is flashable through CWM
The Touchwiz30Launcher.apk and SystemUI.apk need to be replaced in system/app using root explorer and then you need to change the permissions. and reboot.
Make sure you download alternative launcher, like launcher pro, just in case things mess up. And make a backup of the touchwiz and systemui apk's before you replace them.
Enjoy!

Ok just saying
But i think SGace + is diffrent
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
yeah you are right. The drop-down for the sga+ is slightly different, and the app drawer is semi-transparent. also the home screen page numbers are at the bottom.
if some1 could make the app drawer semi-transparent and move the homescreen page numbers to the bottom, it would look very very close to the sga+
Semi i can do
But numbers below not
Thats a hell of a lot modding

The Pie UI Lockscreen / Homescreen Thread

Hello guys, since I've took a break from theming and have a new baby boy I don't have the time for theming right now...
What I do have the time for is Lockscreens and Home screens
Ive had a crazy number of PM's on how to make them, instructions ect ect so the dudes over at the desktop thread suggested a new thread just for this purpose..
So Lets get on to the first one (none of this is my work, my work (only some modded icons ect is detailed at the last part of this post. I take no credit for the Original concept or ideas..
A massive thanks to the guys over at My colorhomescreen........ you know who you are !..
Lets crack on.
Light ...
Dark
Dark 2...
ICS Version (I modded out the android)
And my super modded one
And my new modded white one
These are the instructions and downloads for the first dark one here ....and the widgetlocker theme for the lock screen
http://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyNexus/comments/s1xsn/finally_customized_my_galaxy_nexus_home_screen/
Its for the galaxy nexus but the concept is the same... These instructions work for my modded version to a point..... I use snowstorm for the weather and minimulistic text for the battery...
I use ADW Launcher ex ....go launcher ex and others will work too ...
Here is my modded lockscreen too, works fine with the Galaxy S2
Feel free to post in the thread for any help..
Here are my finished working screens
Enjoy !

No, the question is not about the ROM but the launcher, i managed to figure the things out on ADW Launcher, 7x7 grid layout, Hyperdroid as well.

[Q] Create own widget apps

I'm looking for an app which works the same way as "UCCW" but with memory stats feed and the feature to add a desired image as background. Memory feed as in how much space I got left on my phone and SD card (wouldnt mind RAM feed as well). I'm also looking for a way to create a widget which I'm able to change the image in every percentage.
I know that "make your own clock pro" have the memory feature but youre unable to add your own image.
Does this ring any bells? Thanks in advance!

Im on lk8 stock deox now.. b4 update leak I was running your rom but I kinda want to just tweak lil things and keep kinda stock for now so yea. Stock lk8 deox.
Last night I was trying again with apktool and when decompiling systemui, framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk only twframework would install in prompt. I trued from link you supplied and found another on youtube with vid tut. So after tring to decompile the systemUI

In the systemUI folder that pops up in apktool folder there was only smali folder. No manifest no res nothing just smali.. I deleted and retried like 12 times with different rom bases. I even tried yours to just see where edits where made maybe thinking I could make zip but nothing worked. The closest I got was with apk manager. Im dumb though and just literally installed notepad++ now. Wish I had yesterday. My desktop looks like my kids room. Lol

What tint are you talking about? I don't notice it.
There is a tint of your notifications that come in the top left of the screen. I believe it takes away a lot of the good looks of touchwiz roms. When the tint is removed I believe it looks so much better
The correct way to do it is decompile the SystemUI.apk, then in the values folder open the dimens.xml.
Edit line 25 and 26 and change the % to 100.0% on both lines and recompile.

Hey bp. Thanks for the response. Any possible way you can make a zipp that can be flashed on touchwiz roms to eliminate the tint? It would be much appreciated!

On Screen Buttons for .55 FW please

I know I can add "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" to build.prop but the buttons are too much big ,I want samller buttons.
Please help
Is there absolutely no way to get smaller on screen buttons on .55 firmware?!
Also, the above mentioned method doesn't work for me!
I believe you have to decompile the SystemUI.apk or the Framework-res.apk and modify the height of the navbar.
Could you tell me how to do that or direct me to any tutorial?
