A review of the Case Mate Tough - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hi guys I just got my Casemate Tough case and would like to share my first impressions with you
Price: $ 47.04 is a bit too much but for a device that cost me $700 at the time it is ok.
Delivery time : the case mate website says 3-4 weeks , got it after 10 days
package: bubbles envelope
Ordering and delivery process : 9
case :
case is made out of two separate parts
A. the rubber inside part for shock resistance - perfect fit
there is cuts for speaker , S-Pen , a hole for noise cancellation at the top, USB port is well reachable and so is the 3.5mm jack
surrounds the entire phone and keeps it safe.
B. the polycarbonate hard shell is built nicely to create a continuous build between the Rubber and the Polly part.
Protection: 9.5
a drawback is the thickness it adds to the device , as of now the device is less carry-able inside your jeans pocket or the inside of a jacket as it is 2-3mm thicker and wider
Mobility : 7.5
in conclusion i would rate this case : 8.7
Yes: great fit, well built, great materials and general feeling.
No: a bit expensive for a case, makes it a bit thicker.
the case have great resemblance to the commuter series by otter box for the Galaxy S, but this one is much better when it come to perfect fit.
if you can afford the $47 i suggest you go and get it
if you find it useful hit the thanks button

Cases - please help me choose...

Hi guys,
Just got my Orbit and need to choose a case for it before I use it as its cost a lot of £££ and I want to keep it looking nice.
I'm looking for a case that:
- is small, light and snug fitting so doesn't detract from nice Orbit size / shape
- good protection from knocks and the occasional drop
- easy to get the orbit in and out for when using sat nav in cradle
- looks good
- protects from dirt
- protects the screen when not in use
- still access wi-fi, stylus, ports etc
For those reasons I have discounted the silicon cases and have plumped for either the Krussell leather case (from ebay @ £10 - are they real or fakes?) or the aluminium case...
Both are similar prices, so I am really looking for people have tried one or both for advice on which case best meets the needs above...
Cheers

lol, brilliant! i have a Aluminium Case for my MDACIII which looks great (until it gets scratched ) but is a bit fiddely at times...
Thanks NM8 but I have kind of discounted the sandwich bag and silicon case option.... its def either leather or aluminium...
Think I might just have to get one and give it a try and see what its like... then i'll have to re-sell and buy the other if the first is rubbish!
I actually use a Black Aluminium case for my Artemis which is nice and looks great. Tjhere are so many versions I have the PDAir brand which I think is the best cosmetically (design).
The only problem with it is when I am sending SMS. Because Im right handed, the front of the case gets in the way when opened so I cant use single hand to compose SMS.
Otherwise its a brilliant piece of protection!
I use the silicon case and it's perfect for my needs. I broke one of my pdas because it fell out of my shirt pocket when I picked something up from the floor. The display broke and I had to buy a new one. The silicon case is a little bit sticky. The protection is not the best if you really drop but it's not as bulky as other cases, I have my pda in my pants most of the time. Leater or aluminium would make it too bukly.
Cheers mate, got a silicon case for my K800i and whilst its my preferred option for that phone (along with a screen protector) I wouldn't have one for my Orbit as there is nothing to protect the touch screen...
Still looking for opinions from people who have the aluminium or leather cases what they think...
I have a Krussel, it is good and comes with a belt clip as standard. It has a few drawbacks the worst I guess it that if you use the dashboard hanger the flap falls down over the screen! Other than that it is great! The stiffener in the flap really does protect the screen when it is closed though.
Update... after much thinking and surfing cases i'm considering are:
Case 1 Looks a bit cheap and nasty but I like the style.....
Case 2 - Looks a lot nicer version of the above and seems to have better cut outs on the back. Think this is my fave....
Krussell case - looks nice but most expensive...
Any thoughts appreciated... especially from anyone who has any of the above....
PLUS - not sure whether to go for "book" type opening or "flip up".
Decided against the aluminium case after watching the youtube review and they said you can't get the stylus out without taking it out of the case....
I have been using the Pdair Aluminium case for over 12 months, and believe me it has saved my Artemis on a number of occasions, I have put an Orbit into it and the more rounded corners do indeed hinder the stylus removal, but for protection I would put up with the inconveniance - I have both a silver and Black case, the silver one is like new as I have not used it too often, the black one looks like it has seen a fair bit of service but the Artemis is still like new (thankfully) - probably the best £15 I have spent on a case in a very long time to be honest - Mike
Has anybody come across a clear case which prevents the screen being touched?? need one for use on my motorbike whilst using the satnav.
Thanks in anticipation

Have a look at this thread:

Hi gk141054. Yes, you are quite correct, the PDair aluminium case does stop you removing the stylus - but that is fixed in about 5 minutes with a small round file. Or 20 seconds with a Dremmel!! Just grind a little material from that corner - enough to allow removal of the stylus - and blend the edges in smoothly. I can get the stylus out without even looking - the case now acts as a guide for your fingers.
Can definitely agree with Mike- it is a very neat, robust case, and I've been using mine for 12 months too. The hard plastic sreen is good too - you can see caller ID, alarms, etc, without having to take it out of the case. My case is black, and the number of scratches on the edges show just how good it has been at protecting my Artemis. Good enough that I'm looking for one for my Orbit 2.
Hope this helps.

Recomendations for Cases, Screen Protector , and Arm Band

I recently got my Captivate and wanted to make an all in one recommendation thread based upon what my phone is currently using..
OtterBox Commuter-
This fits Amazingly well on the phone and protects it fully the one problem I'm having at the moment with it is the Volume buttons feel is a bit off as the up offers less resistance then the down . Other then that this is a great case that offers full protection ( even covers the head phone jack for a great price and adds very little space to the phone. The rubber is however a dust magnet but a simple brush Takes care of that.
AT&T Screen Protector- Available at the AT&T store
This screen protector feels like the glass. Unlike other brands this offers no resitance is easy to clean and covers all the essentials. The top is cut so as not to hinder the speaker and sensors on the front of the phone. There were air pockets on this one. Plus for 5$ you get three!
iArmbands
This arm band is amazing plus if your like me and want to get it on the cheap Amazon has this available. It fits the phone with the Otterbox on it. The front is a bit unresponsive but while working out this doesn't turn out to be much of a problem. For those who do need to use the screen so long as you can use your thumb it does respond. The head phone jack is in an awkward place but works.
I hope this makes it easier when your searching for accessories for your phone as I know I had a rough time finding results in my searches for my accessories.
Pictures may follow...
I bought myself a couple of them from Amazon. So far this is the one I loved the most "Samsung Captivate I897 (AT&T) Rubberized Snap On Protector Hard Case, Black".
Code:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Captivate-Rubberized-Protector-Black/dp/B003ZJJ31A/ref=pd_sim_cps_6
This fits well, and available for less than $3 including shipping, and well worth a try.
Price in amazon as of 16 Dec 2010: $0.01 + $2.98 shipping
Note: Image attached is a stock image.
I have put on the screen protectors on this link below. This one fit well and hardly has leaves very less finger marks, and has no glare that I could notice.
Code:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZNNCJU/ref=oss_product
Price in amazon as of 16 Dec 2010: $1.50 + $2.58 shipping for 5 screen protectors.
I ordered like 3 different varieties. One of it was like just for the screen and not for soft keys. Other was covering well, but very very smudgy and was giving too much glare just from the screen light itself.
So far ive had the bodyglove, the amzer tpu and now the otterbox commuter. All of these cases are great. The otterbox has the best protection, the only issue i have with it is the top/bottom attracting lint and fitting a tad loose... but not a huge deal to me. The Amzer tpu is a good in between, good proctection, a lot less bulky than the otterbox, and the cheapest. I bought the bodyglove because it was the only case available way back when i bought the phone LOL. My 2 cents

Zenus Prestige Carbon Case Mini Review

I promised 'Mia' at Zenus a quick review of their Prestige Carbon case for the Galaxy S2 as she was so helpful when I had a small quality problem with the first case they sent (a mark in the carbon finish and a small indentation). I've since received the second one and can state that the quality and finish of these cases is superb. I honestly think that you couldn't buy better quality. There is a caveat that goes with that statement though, see 'cons' below.
Pros:
Quality is great
The fit to the phone is perfect
The lining is soft and plush
Water resistant finish
Doesn't add much bulk
Light as a feather
Access to power/volume/audio jack while closed
Cutouts for rear speaker & camera are perfectly placed
Cons:
Very expensive (£28 when converted by PayPal)
Need to open case for access to USB
The clasp at the top could've been bigger to avoid the front panel sliding around
looks great man
I have one and it's petty awesome. Only problems are needing to open the case to charge and there is no pprotection for the top right corner. Otherwise great.

[Gen9][Review] Archos G9 101 Leather Case

Case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006R6G6ZY/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
Genuine Leather Case for Archos G9 Tablet (8-16GB)
Cost: $29.99 USD
(I have a Skinomi TechSkin Black Carbon Fiber on my tablet, so that's what the pattern is on the device itself. I didn't put the skin on the bezel as I like the way that the bezel looks)
Pros:
Snug - Device fits in the case very well. Not too big, not too small.
Heavy - This is clearly not cheaply made.
Magnetic Lock - No piece to tuck in, the latch is magnetic, and rather strong.
Thick - The whole thing feels very solid, and it does add a bit of bulk to it.
Inside Material - There is a felt-like material (I don't think it's actual felt) that makes it nice and soft inside. It grips the tablet well and almost guarantees no scratching of the tablet.
Cons:
Heavy - (yes, this is a con too!) The tablet can't stand up on the kickstand with this case on it. The top flap of the case is too heavy and makes the tablet fall over. Can't prop the tablet up on the flap.
Needs to stretch - The case is so well-fitting that it actually needs to stretch to be able to magnetically latch after the tablet is in it. Mine is currently resting face-down, under a book to hold it in place and stretch it a bit.
Kickstand Area - The small piece on the outside of the kickstand area is kind of there by itself, making it loose and it doesn't fit quite right. I assume it will need to be molded to fit over time.
Overall:
The case is very nice, and I like the overall quality of it. This is clearly a quality case, but it needs to be worn on the tablet for a bit to make it fit perfectly. There needs to be a little stretching and molding done.
I would definitely recommend this tablet to others with a G9 101.

I have the newMP3technology.com one and am not impressed by it at all, especially for the amount I paid for it. I also have the Tuff-Luv and really like it. It really improves the tablet's look and it provides a better grip. I would like it to be a little better fit, it seems just a little loose for my tastes.

Soft Cover / Case with boosted corners, at maximum 0,5 mm thick back, free keys

There is almost any information in the topic, but:
I am looking for a cover with (approximatly) the following specs:
Boosted corners to protect the G5 Plus in the (in my opinion) only really critical case of a drop on the corner...
A lot less than a thickness of 1 mm - ideally something like 0.5-0.75 mm (0.02-0.03 inches) - at least on the back of the cover. I want to put a 0.2 mm metal plate between the phone and the cover and the force of the magnetic car holder should be very strong in spite of using the cover. I really don't care if the camera is protected by a very thick backside (at least 2 mm thickness - omg) as it is extremly unlikely that the camara gets damaged, except for the very rare flat-drop situation, in which the camera is also not protected if it hits a small stone or similar. So I prefer a really thin, lightweight cover and not those 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm covers that seem to be the only availabe products in combination with the barefaced description calling those "ultra thin". This is a real joke. The corners might be boosted to 1 mm to 1.5 mm but not the rest.
The keys must be free (cutout from the cover) or really easy to press. I just bought a 5 star rated cover on amazon (something like 8 reviews): It is such an awful, stif and heavy product and the covered buttons have to be pressed unbelievable strong - it is just ridiculous. Fake reviews or stupid folks. Additionally the cover is 1.5 mm thick and was offered as "ultra thin" (oh my stupidity...).
Up to now I failed in finding a cover that meets my desired specifications, but I assume that it must exist. There are like a billion offers on amazon, almost no seller providing correct and thruthful information on the geometry (thickness, etc) of the cover, while claiming it is "ultra thin" (1.5 mm is ultra thin? This is a joke, right? Most of the G5 Plus is 7.7 mm thick - meaning that an 1.5 mm cover will increase thickness by 20 percent. This is NOT ultra thin. Ultra thin means increasing thickness by an almost insignificant number.), of "high quality silicone" (cheap TPU is called silicone?) and of course "nano coated" (you don't really believe that your "0,1 $ production cost (and sold for 10 $ to make it look like quality) and assembled in China cover" is anything different than cheap material without any technology features). The ultimate problem seems to be the desinformation through an unbelievably highly competitive market with a billion of offers, fake seller reviews, etc, where finding the one good product is like looking for a needle in a haystack...
Does anyone have a useful hint for a product that might meet my specifications? .
I really don't want to continue buy and error anymore, because most often the return shipping costs are not refunded, which means that you will get 1 of 6 Euros/Dollars refunded or something like that. And generating all that waste makes me have a guilty conscience.
Search for Spigen on Amazon, good case. Just got mine , buttons are great and good protection all around

Mhh ok - but how thick is the backside? It looks like it is at least 1.5-2mm thick and therefore a magnetic plate will be very weak through it...

I've got the same type of mount. My plate is in but haven't tested the mount yet. But I think it should be fine. Will update tonight
Edit- it works fine with the magnet

I also got this particular cover:
- it is very thick, but as I bought an extra large and extra strong magnetic car holder it is not a problem.
- it is not tacky at all, which I unfortunately consider a con. I really feel like I will sooner or later (I guess sooner) drop my phone, as the cover is the exact opposite of tacky, especially compared to typical silicon or tpa covers.
The cover looks great, it feels great, but being not tacky at all and still very thick(!) I am not really convinced.
Anccer Motorola Moto G5 Plus Case
I just ordered an "Anccer Motorola Moto G5 Plus Case" from Amazon (not allowed to post any links because I just got a new XDA account...)
They claim it's 0.8 mm thick and it has cut-outs for buttons too, although it's not soft as you mentioned. I just want to have the minimal case to add a bit of grip because this phone is too damn slippery!
Seeing your post is a few months old, what did you end up going for?
I actually did what @joshk89 advised me to and bought the Spigen. Anyway it is a little bit slippy and not as tacky as it should be, but it looks very good, gives a good protection, fits very tight, but is at least 1.5 mm thick. Also the keys are perfectly usable without the need of extensive force in your fingers.
@nanodgb Do you like the addtional grip that the anccer offers? On amazon reviews people write that it is very slippy and that it breaks very quickly as the corners are not soft but hard plastic and start to crack early... What do you think about that?

I'm actually quite happy with it after a week. If you're looking for grip I wouldn't recommend this case though. It's a bit slippy. Not nearly as much as the original cover though, but not as tacky as a rubber one. One thing's clear, it is very thin, 0.7mm or 0.8mm max. Not sure it provides the best protection, but it's exactly what I wanted. The corners look fine for now, we'll see in a few months.
