Did anyone ever find out what happened to him?
I heard his girlfriend dumped him and he spiraled into depression, resorting to alcoholism and prescription medication abuse to help numb his pain.
Oh wait, that's me. No I haven't heard what happened to mazook.
I did a little research a few days ago, and saw some "suicide watch" websites, where people had been posting about him, but, haven't checked those again..He hasn't posted anything since then anywhere, so I hope that something bad didn't actually happen...
Did he just vanish from the scene or did he give an indication that something was up?

If it was an attempted suicide and they handle it the same as in my city (in Texas), mazook was probably taken to a short-term center for observation, which could be six weeks or so. Depending on behavior there, they may be transferred to a long-term facility for three months.
Without insurance, going to a state center means you will stay there every day that the state is paying for it, so the full three months.
Edit: And if they used pills/alcohol, there is a high chance that the paramedics made it in time.
i guess the issue is, no one knows if they got to him on time, let alone if this actually happened..he was very active here and on Rootz, and hasn't posted anywhere since that incident..

Hey guys I was watching the news today and saw this story, and actually thought it was pretty interesting. This college kid in California was using the My Tracks app on a dash mount in his car and it helped him get out a ticket that was pretty much a bogus one that a cop lied about. Oh I know, I realize that it really only records an average or the maximum speed that you reached. In this instance the cop pulled the guy over and said he was going 40 in a 25 zone, on My Tracks the max speed he reached was only 26. Just helps prevent false tickets, and you do have a good point because these days rarely anyone does the speed limit all the time.
He didn't win bc of the phone app, he won bc the cop did not remember when be last got the gun calibrated nor was trained, so sort of misleading...

I didnt see that in the story, I guess I missed it. But still he used the app and presented the stuff in court it sounds like, so to an extent it helped him.

No, it didn't. I'm getting tired of this non-story spreading around the internet because people can't bother to read and apply some critical thinking. The judge said in the source article and any article with journalistic integrity that his ruling had nothing to do with the GPS.
He posted his story here on xda last week.

a better app is the one that shows you where the cops normally sit.

Article is probably falsified, also that comment probably wasn't actually from a police. GPS apps are in my experience super accurate for speeds, while police have a massive incentive to lie and screw people over.

I plan to. Thanks for the non-informational post. Unfortunately some places don't take the phone back without taking a 25% restocking fee. So its not just that easy to RETURN IT!!! (unless you're getting it from a European carrier on contract for free).

Oh, the irony. A post complaining about all the complaints.
Some people are on here looking for easier fixes (like software fix) for their issues, rather then return/exchange. Returning phones with trivial software problems will only lead to higher prices in the long run for everyone.
It's a new device and bound to have issues; they all do. The GN's front page looked like a toxic waste dump for the first couple of weeks. There's value in the complaining as volume helps figure out whether an issue affects one device, a percentage, or all of them. Things should die down after a while.
I agree that the constant duplicate threads where people won't or don't search are annoying. That and those that think their experiencing the problem somehow makes it more significant than all the others experiencing it before them.

This is more how i should of worded the OP I meant it to be more of a thread of praise and good experiences of the One X but i wrote the OP in frustration!
I got the first shot of my snake sticking its tongue out thanks to the image chip in my One X, thats my good experience shared
My friend is bringing my Gnex from Hongkong to India, he says its overheating alot making it unusable, now i saw this issue in many threads but no one has mentioned any resolution/fix/replacement etc
what would you all advice me,
Its fixable with change of radio, kernal, basebands , ROMs
or
I should get it replaced

If it regularly overheats with normal usage on stock firmware, you need to get it replaced.

Overheating issue is there in mine also , mostly in the cam region . But now weather in hyd is also quite hot so might be an added effect .

how much hot is it ?? would you say warm rather hot, caz here friend says its so hot that he can't put it to ears to listen calls.
Its not worth risking it, even if the replacement does the same thing. I would get it replaced personally.

Requested by reviewers, I figured I'd post it in the open as well in case anybody else needs the file.
File is large (657MB) and contains all system files for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SIII (T-999). I've compressed it (BEST setting), I believe the actual file size is 994MB, to try and make the download/upload a bit less harsh.
Is there a way to see the actual progress of a dropbox upload?
Since the file is so large, it required I use the desktop feature. I dropped it in the dropbox folder on my PC and it started syncing (toolbar icon shows upload speed and current time....but it has said 1hr since I started. The speed keeps moving, so I know it's working, but it has been over an hour since I started).
I'm wondering if it was closer to 2hr.
Sorry it's taking so long guys.
EDIT- As SOON as I posted this, my toolbar icon displays 59 minutes lol. It's getting there!

I don't know him at all, or probably anyone in this portion of the community. He asked me for the file, otherwise I would have had no clue it was even valuable to anyone. I felt since he asked for me to keep it exclusive for the time being, it would be fair to do so, but only for this weekend.

No worries its not against any rules but "reviewers" was very infamous in the amaze forums with not knowing how to do any development and just kanging work, but hey everyone gets a fresh start......so they say

Yeah, after getting several PMs about the situation, I'm going to return the link to the page.
It appears (from what I'm getting) that he was upset he did not get the phone yet and was trying to gain access to building a ROM before anyone else.
This is an open community and the more development opportunities, the better

False, I never not produce anything that's "not functional" so relax besides 1 thing we're calling was glitched. It was passed then get over it. I learned much since then.
