Different Cyan colors - Nokia Lumia 900

I have been contemplating on which color 900 im going to get, I look at many different images of the cyan version and a lot of them look different, some look darker some lighter closer to a teal color, I even seen some that look like an electric or cobalt blue. I tried to base the actual color to an actual image with someone holding it in their hand but there is discrepancy there also.

compared to
I see more images closer to the second pic but I really like the first image better, but i think im going to take the plunge ona cyan device anyways just because I want to be different with this device

Since when was there a dark blue Lumia? Never knew about it or seen it before.

This probably sounds silly, but is there a chance the first two pictures are with the included cover on it? I say silly because why would a reviewer take first-look pictures with the cover on, but who knows? The color difference is definitely there.

No other blue other than cyan has been announced so I'd definitely say that the colors are just off on those pics.
I'm more interested in the white personally..

I would say the colours are off in the picture. Likely it will be the same that Nokia shows on their website... if you can even get it in North America. We shall see very soon !

The teal color is closer to the actual color. I believe there are 2 more colors besides cyan and black. White and red? We'll have to see if they roll out more phones when this phone really takes off.

I actually played around with both the black and cyan, and I liked the cyan more. The color pops, and it looks different based on the lighting. Also I noticed the black gets smudges and finger prints on the back, however, it's barely noticeable on the cyan. I'll prob end up with the cyan and maybe switch to the white, depending how much I like it, when it's released on April 22.

Stuck or dead pixel?

Can anyone tell? also, am i able to fix this?
The pixel is cyan at a white background, black at a red background, and completely disappears on a blue, green, and black background.

Yes it can. If it's black on a red screen it means a red pixel is missing. Red is used for white (white = red, green and blue). Red isn't used to make green or blue, so those colours are fine with a dead red pixel there.
to be anoying:
in fact it is called dead sub-pixel.
but here we are at the discussion how the resolution is counted in this devise. the used technology is counting else than normal TFT, which have 3 same sized sub-pixels, merged to this what you call and see as a pixel.

In fact, what I actually call it is a `dodgy red light`.

Screen quality issues

Anybody else having screen quality issues? First one(left) had a blueish tint and even though color representation is correct on the replacement, it has banding issues that are really noticeable when the backlight is low, so hopefully I have better luck with the 3rd.
Both phones are set to full brightness

I made a similar thread a while ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295438
Long story short, I returned it, got one that was slightly better (less overall streaks, but one bigger one in the corner) but that overheated constantly. So I swapped that one, and this one is perfect. Not a spot on it, it looks as even as an LCD.

Same here indeed. I see it as more of a grayer color but the banding is very visible, especially in Tapatalk.

Same here, I had some gradient streaks especially in the notification curtain with low light etc....bad display. Returned mine and the new one is perfect. I guess some are just better than others but definitely a defect.

Different types of grey

Hello everybody,
Im expecting to get my One X on Monday. I ordered it on hi.nl and the website states that it's Glamour Grey.
Now some of you already know that there are different kinds of grey. But does somebody know what are the key differences between Glamour Grey and Gun Metal Grey? are there none, or is it indeed the camera ring that's diffirent?
i like to start a little discussion about this item!
all we know is from the screen shots mate
wait ill cook another pic to start this discussion

ok if you ask me i think there is only one type of grey, the shaders are just reflections
what do you guys think?
---------- Post added at 08:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:50 AM ----------
ok after i watched this unboxing of the grey version, i think its only one version changing under light
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqvIgCsmMGU
Look at this video from 1:05 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNUd1ZoYbzc
Even if it's to do with light, the nasty red tint is quite noticeable.
Going to change to white, the silver ring is simply more elegant. Might seem a little over the top, but when I'm paying this much for a phone for the next 2 years, I want everything to be to my tastes.
Indd, we will have to compare Gun Metal Grey and Glamour Grey when they are out. But i just don't understand why they would use different terms for the same colour! it's causing a little bit confusing.. and then there are all the different pictures in the post above..
I've seen:
Black
Grey
Glamour Grey
Gun Metal Grey
Black/Grey
But yea, we'll have top wait i quess!

Either of the first 2 look nicest. But I would personally recommend the Trident Aegis case. Its dual layered, incredibly strong and it won't ever fall off your phone. Comes in many colours, including straight black if you want it to match your suit.
Can't go wrong with neutral colors - black , white , gray etc. I dont think anyone will care about your phone, it could add a bit of personality to yourself, like a tie. As long as you don't have some little kiddie case lol

Black border around the screen?

So I just picked up a HTC 10 and so far am really loving the phone right down to the camera. But I can't help noticing that the display has a black border that runs the perimeter between the LCD and bezel of the phone.
It looks pretty cheap, my M8 had nothing of the sort nor have I seen something like this on other flagship smartphones. I searched Google and some HTC 10 don't seem to have the border. I have the Tianma display in mine, perhaps the Sharp display is ever so slightly larger? Any comments?
I have the same border but a littler thinner than your one. I suppose it's only noticeable in the phones with white screens (I have the white/gold one). Doesn't bother me too much. Mine has a Sharp panel. The images shown below are the exact size of my borders. The only reason why you never saw this on the M8 or any other phone is because the front glass is completely black, the HTC 10 has white coloured glass in the white/silver or white/gold versions.
They do show the black border in images (warning, large images):

Bummer, thanks for the quick reply I was hoping for some unit variation but I can live with it, the phone's been really great otherwise.
