Help: Market enabler for installing apps which say 'not supported in your country' - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I've Galaxy nexus, and the market is updated to Play store (latest android market). I've Codename Android ICS version installed. Need help installing apps from Play store which say "Not supported in your country". I installed 'Market enabler', and pointed it to T-mobile US, Verizon US, but still no use. Can someone please help me with this?

Having the same issues here ..

You should probably email the app creator instead of asking here...

I was asking if there's any alternative for market enabler which works with Play store...plz suggest

theres no alternative to that just yet...
if you really just want to uninstall apps just do it thru settings > apps ot download titanium backup and uninstall them from there

to purchase apps you need to have a Google wallet account registered somewhere that actually supports purchasing apps from the market.

Hi I have a question following what you said. I have a friend who wants to buy a app but he can't do it in his country. He said he found the .apk but somehow it still could not work. So I was thinking maybe he needs Market enabler. If he has it and I buy the app and give him the .apk file, could he then install the app?
Thanks

[APP]Google Maps latest version

Installing Google Maps is a regular problem for me, because everytime that a new version comes up, i'm unable to download it because of restrictions in my country (Chile).
It's not easy to find the latest version (at the moment of this writing i think it's 6.8.0) .
If someone can upload the updated apk i'll be very pleased.
The most recent version that i can found searching the internet was the 6.6 so, if it's useful to somebody the link is here:
REMOVED
If there's a method to avoid country limitations please tell me, because Market Enabler and similars are not working anymore.
Thanks!
Latest maps, unzip it, install, This is version 6.8.0
124 views and nobody uploaded maps? Weird.
I can't see maps in google play, or in my apps (on google play), but you can update it like this:
Go to maps, settings, what's new, update.

I don't know if there's a special way to do it, but a long time ago Market Enabler stops working for me.
Sometimes i'm able to see the apps that i normally can't see, but i cannot install them.
I updated mine this way. Market then my apps then slide to the right for "all" then scroll down for Google maps, it will be there.

do u read about "maps is not available on some countries" ? lol
anyway with market enabler should work fine
You need to keep market enabler enabled at all times, at least i do and it works.
I make it a habit of running it and selecting T-Mobile US every time my phone reboots and before connecting online. Let it change your APN, then it will always work. Also replace your Play Store vending apk with the mod version, then you should be good. If you need to buy any app, open the app page in the browser.

Probably because Google can hit XDA with a cease and desist and cause all sorts of trouble. You are not allowed to distribute google apps.
Oh ok thanks for the tip, OP you can just PM me.
MAPS updates are available from the Play store
Thanks

Region code change for play store?

Hi I have noticed not all the games/apps are available on play store is there any way to change the phone's region code? Or some how get the play store to display missing games/apps?

I noticed that too, when I came here to Korea to see my parents.
The Play store displays different apps on my Galaxy Tab unlike my iPhone.
Really annoys me.
You can download market enabler, but some apps aren't showing as they probably aren't compatible. I know Plants Vs Zombies worked on my SGS1 with Slim ICS, but it doesn't run on my SGS3.

I don't use one sorry, I know there are some that works on the i9300 but you will have to search the forum.
This one works for me: http://market-enabler.googlecode.com
I use market enabler by for2w, works like a charm and fakes market on boot, doesn't show in play store anymore though (actually can't find any market enabler in play store at all)!

Google wallet and Google play books icons

I've just updated my nexus to jelly bean and its great but there's something I've noticed that the Google wallet and playbooks icons are visible in the app menu
And it says its available in Google play but I can't find the icons and I can't uninstall them so I can install them again
Anyone has this problem .
Updated from ICS 4.0.4 (with Google wallet and play books available )
To jelly bean
I didn't lock the device after installing jelly bean at bootloader screen ,should l lock it
The number of the jelly bean build is JRN84D
I too found the same problem after installing 'takju' and later updating to JB. Use the uninstall option from the play store and u will able to see the icons on your home screen, however on updating them again the icons gets hidden.

check this video might should help you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GIFsd2ehBM
I made the video at morning when I was going to sleep and quality is not really good because I recorded it via iPod..
if you are rooted and you want to remove play movies, etc. then remove them from system/app/ <---- folder

OK I think I found a way.
I went to the play store in the web
Entered with my account and found out that the apps in mention weren't installed so I installed them from the web and found the icons on the device.
But I don't know why it acted the way it did ,the important thing is that icons are visible

I kinda have a similar problem, the icons just disappeared after getting my google account set up, probably since they're not supported in my country...
Anyways, I shall uninstall them.
Unsupported apps
I experienced the same after upgrading to JB here in Indonesia -- Play Books, Play Movies, and Wallet icons are not visible (annoyingly, when adding every Google account I get prompted if I want to set up Google Wallet -- what for, since there's no way to then launch the app?)
I remember the same happening when upgrading my Nexus One to Gingerbread -- to Google Voice. Thankfully Google hasn't decided to region-lock Google Voice and Google Play Music this time, only the latter.
If I remember correctly, the last time this happened, the fix is to install a *later* version of the affected applications on top of the system app that ships with the system ROM. as that is not available at the moment, I guess we're stuck for now. Does anyone know more?
well I updated to 4.1.1 and still no icons of wallet and play books or movies , so far I'm enjoying jelly bean and as long as I can use google wallet online , that's ok

Google Wallet not updating to the latest version

Hello everyone,
I noticed the version on my Nexus 7 is 1.1-R67-v13 but the one in Play Store is 1.5-R75-v6.
Play Store on my device doesn't show any update available for that. Please help.

here is the latest APK
Wallet 1.5-R75-v6
Thank you very much, I was able to update the app through web-based Play Store despite saying "The app is not compatible with your device".
Oh no, Right now whenever I try to open the app it returns the "Not supported" error. It says "Unfortunately Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network"
How is this possible? It was working fine 3 days ago.
Where are you located?
Have you tried updating the app through the Nexus 7?
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ajor-credit-and-debit-cards-goes-cloud-based/
Go there. There's link to the play store to update through there or get the apk through a few mirrors, which I think are still ok. Maybe clear data and/or reinstall?
I wasn't actually able to update my wallet either, even when I was on Stock. I live in the US as well, so region shouldn't be an issue.
Yeah region isn't causing problem, The weird thing is that I hard reset my Nexus 7 and now the Wallet icon is disappeared. But I could update it through the web-based Play Store. The Google Play Magazines' icon is gone too but the application is installed because I can see it from Airdroid. Anyone?
[EDIT]: Realized I disabled the app through wallet.google.com before hard resetting. Now I can't find any where to re-enable it.
Well mine is the latest version, but now says device not supported even if I unroot it.

Does anyone have a modified version for this device yet that works with root? I've searched a little for it and can't find one specific for a rooted N7 yet.... thanks in advance and one with a link in the right direction!

Question: Can I update Samsung Apps in the Google Play Store Instead of Galaxy Store?

Hi Everyone,
I've been searching the site and online for an answer, but no luck.
I have the Galaxy S20+, but this is really a question that pertains to all Galaxy phones. A lot of the Samsung phone's native apps (Camera, Gallery, etc.) will have a "N" icon in Settings, telling you there is a new update for the app that you can install. For this, you have to go through the Galaxy Store. I have disabled access to the store and most other Samsung apps I don't use (Bixby, etc.) because I don't want to sign up for anything Samsung and don't want to create an account with them since I already have my Google account attached to the phone.
Now, going to the Google Play store from the the Camera or Gallery apps, it shows that I have them installed and even allows me to open the app from their store. But unlike other apps that I actually downloaded from Google Play, it won't give me the option to update from Google. It just lets me open the app.
So my question in short is can I, or how can I, update these Samsung apps through the Google Play Store instead of the Galaxy Store? If they show up in the Google Play Store, there must be a way since they are linked.
Side note, I can't uninstall most apps (especially the Camera and Gallery apps) and them re-download them from Google Play, in case anyone was curious.
Any direction or help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
I did an update to the Samsung Members app in the Play Store just the other day after originally installing it via the Galaxy Store (S20U).
I know some of the Samsung apps appear on the Galaxy Store before they reach the Play Store and for apps I've checked I have both Uninstall and Open buttons in both stores. Don't see why it wouldn't be possible for certain apps.

Interesting. I just checked and I don't have the Samsung Members app installed to compare. But like you said as well, it should be possible.
Hopefully someone here knows how?
Just use samsung app store..

Short answer: Yes and no.
As you discovered, some Samsung apps are available in the Google Play Store. Those can be updated via the Play Store. The other Samsung apps must be updated via Samsung Galaxy Store or sideloaded (the best source is Samsung apk mirror).
Having a Samsung account doesn't force you to use their apps. I have a Samsung account, but I disabled all of their apps except for Calculator, Galaxy Wearable, Good Lock, My Files, and One Hand Operation+, and having a Samsung account doesn't affect my battery or usage habits whatsoever.

Thanks everyone.
Sublimaze, I think this is the most helpful answer. Thanks. I have a couple of follow-up questions from your response:
- I know a little about sideloading, but I'm not fully versed. But say I download the Samsung Camera and Gallery apps from Apkmirror, how do I install them if my Galaxy S20+ device doesn't let me uninstall Camera and Gallery? In the settings, I can't even disable them (it's greyed out). Maybe these two app examples are exceptions and I can't do anything about it? I will say many (if not all) of the Samsung apps I see on my device do not give me the option to disable or uninstall
- When you sideload an app, how do you receive updates or update the app in the future? Is it a one-and-done situation, or will I be able to do updates on Google Play moving forward? Or, will I be stuck and never be able to do updates, with the only way being is to just keep installing newer versions when they come out on Apkmirror?
- And finally, is Apkmirror reliable?
And thanks for clarifying the bit on the Samsung accounts.

That makes sense. I think what I'm just going to have to do is just tough it out and use the Samsung Store to updates the ones I can only do through there, then revoke permissions to the Samsung Store app after I'm done. Seems like the safest way to go.
Thanks.
