Sony Ericsson keyboard? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yo. Does anyone know its it possible to install SE keyboard to Aosp rom? It its my favorite keyboard for android, and i would live to use it on my Miui rom. I have ripped the keyboard from a stock rom, but it didn't work.
I tried Slide It keyboard, but it is not nearly as good.

I want it too!!
Even i want to use the SE Stock key board in MIUI v4 and other roms.

to be honest i haven't been able to find any single keyboard that i like and ive tried a few. I've just learnt to deal with it. The stock keyboard on the galaxy ace i like quite a lot so am sure it not me being picky. Touchscreens suck.

[Q] Anyone use Better Keyboard?

I'm curious about Better Keyboard. Is it worth the 3 bucks?
Also does Swype still work on it.
Any other comments about the app are welcome.
i suggest smart keyboard. unless you have swype ofcourse
Swype only works on swype...I've bought better keyboard awhile ago on a older android and tried on my G2, but always go back to swype. Have tried the HTC IME one tooo
it is worth it i luvd it, but not on my G2, i mean i use the keyboard most of the time and the swype is just easier. As long as you have the G2 i wouldn't invest in the better keyboard but thats just me
I like smart keyboard.
not worth it anymore. was great on G1 but makes no sense on g2
vision
I have to put my vote in for Smart Keyboard.
I second the recommendation of smart keyboard pro. Has a little more features than better keyboard (yes I play with both) and absolutely love the suggestions on physical keyboard.

I use Ultrakeyboard, it's just fine!
Only sad thing, it has no swedish dictionary :/
Bought it for the wifes mytouch. No sense to have on g2. Was nice but very outdated now

I used it before I found SwiftKey
I promise you, Ultra Keyboard is the one to have. I've tried Smart and Better Keyboard already and I always find myself reverting back to Ultra. I have the portrait set to Swype and landscape set to Ultra.

Original Evo keyboard back?

I finally decided to root my phone and install CM7.
I love it, but the lack of a decent keyboard is killing me. I've searched everywhere and can't find one.
Anyone know how I can get back my original keyboard? Or at least a better one?
It'd also be nice to get HTC's camera software back.

Ultra keyboard and swiftkey are both good, available in the market. No htc keyboards work on CM as far as I know. Same with the camera. If you want those things, you'd need to flash a sense ROM. So, AOSP or Sense is the question.

You could sign up for the Swype Beta and get Swype for free.
+1 on SwiftKey, one of the best. Good luck

That's the Google keyboard, you can get the HTC keyboard off this site or make a custom keyboard. Just search HTC hi res22, I think the guy name was Jonas

Been using smart keyboard and its very similar to the HTC keyboard.
if you like the sense-like keyboard feel, try swiftkey. it is pretty amazing how accurately it predicts words. almost spooky.
i personally use the newest swype beta, and am loving it. i can type extremely fast and accurately, the voice typing is awesome and crazy good, and i can type one handed faster than i can with two hands on swiftkey. try it you wont be sorry. the beta is still open so just sign up and you will get accepted within 10 minutes.

[Q]Stock Keyboard

is it possible to install stock 2.3.4 keyboard to miui rom?
Don't think so

ok thanks, i stick to swype for now
Do you mean stock keyboard from SE or Android?
Following this, is it possible to install stock SE 2.3.4 keyboard on miui? i love the gestures, and fast typing for my fingers is great for me...
I don;t know if you can use the stock keyboard, but if you manage some problems with the lower buttons when using landscape mode, you could use TouchPal!

[Q] Samsung stock keyboard

So my keyboard of preference is the stock samsung 3x4 pad thats comes with the s2. But it seems less and less roms are carrying this keyboard. Does anyone know where to download it, or how I can just save the one that the stock phone uses and transfer it to a new rom. I'm a fan of trying out all the new roms, but not having the 3x4 pad is keeping me running stock.
Thanks!
The keyboard that comes with Swype Beta seems very similar to me to the stock Samsung keyboard which, I agree with you, is much better than the Android keyboard. You can use it without actually "Swyping" if that's your preference. (It also comes with a great voice recognition system.) It's available (for free) at: beta.swype.com

But i'm just looking for something with a 3x4 lay out(numeric pad I think it what its called).
try smartkeyboard pro, which has a samsung theme built in. looks great and feels great

Best rom with Swype?

Hey guys!
I wanted to know what you guys think is the best ROM with the Galaxy S III that gets to keep Swype with it.
I pretty much need swype and the "Beta Swype" sucks.
The stock one that comes with the phone is perfect.
Or if I could backup swype and then get it again with a custom ROM that would be perfect too

I don't think our phones come stock with the Swype app on them...You could try Ti backup or I have the JB 4.2 keyboard that I can give you which has a swipe type feature on it. Try this out. http://db.tt/gFNEwThQ

They don't come stock with name-brand Swype, but the Samsung keyboard does have a Swype alternative that comes with the phone. As for a CM10/AOSP based ROM that has this Samsung keyboard in it, I've not seen one. I have seen plenty that come with the 4.2 keyboard that Robbie mentioned that allows for the Swype. Also SwiftKey has their SwiftKey Flow beta out that's pretty slick. I'll do a bit more research and see if there's a way to flash the Samsung keyboard back on AOSP ROMs without issue. You can try Titanium Backup like Robbie suggested to backup the Samsung keyboard on a TW ROM and then restore it on a different ROM, or try one of the alternatives in the mean time
(Though as an aside, this is the first I've heard of someone preferring Samsung's Swype to the Swype beta )
Well I tried to edit my previous post, but apparently it goes flagged and wouldn't let me , so sorry for the double post.
But it looks like you should be able to flash the file in this link to get your stock Samsung keyboard back on AOSP ROMs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28785982&postcount=504
the samsung 4.1.1 rom comes with swype built in, in addition to the samsung with swype-like capabilities. it's a bit better than the samsung keyboard.
swiftkey flow beta is nice. my preference is the vanilla 4.2 keyboard. Those with Titanium Backup can convert either of these keyboards to system apps to avoid the "non system keyboard" security messages.
