Sound equalizer app - Windows Phone 7 General

Wp7 needs a sound equalizer app so us music listeners ca tweak the sound to our preference like beats by dre android edition phones.
I'm thinking the sound processor chip would need this capability. Would appreciate if this was able to be made. I would make the app if I knew what I was doing.

I was possible on Windows Mobile and I don't see why it wouldn't be possible on Windows Phone which is more sophisticated.

i'd be interested in an EQ. WP7 apps are sooo far nehind other devices. It would be nice to see an customizable (user adjustable plus a few typical presets) EQ like available on Android, etc.

It truly would be nice.... i also miss some apps from android. Eventually they will come to wp7... i hope but an equalizer would be cool!

HTC had a sound enhancer app that was available for their phones. It was good enough. It must have since been taken down, cause since my phone crashed about a month ago, i cannot find the app at all...
sucks

WP7 API is too limited (comparing with WM/native WinCE), so it simple not possible for regular developers. But manufacturers can do, definitely (as HTC did). Or you may ask ROM cooks to embed any open source equalizer for WinCE (if any exists) to their custom ROM's.

That´s the reason, why windows phone will die... too much unnecessary limitations and no chance for an individual style...just the ability for changing the neon colors and to move the tiles around. Too less for user with experience... and the hacks also are not satisfying. I see no future for these phones. I´ve bought after one year without WP7 again one, but after three weeks i´m so disappointed about the changes and the slow development. MS has no interest in this system, because WP8 is on the start. And it will be again a new episode of hopes without getting really improvements for users with more wishes. The concept is for older people and very boring, if you use it longer than a few months - the desk style is for teenagers... a little bit "Kindergarden". There have been concepts like transparence effects for the tiles with background pictures... much more elegant....nothing was realized, too much limitations. No Folders in the long start menu and so on. Also this thing here... no equalizer app... that´s not a modern phone.
My next phone is HTC One X... i think, this is a really good development from HTC. It will be my 25th smartphone/ pocket PC... the best until now was the HTC HD2. But the prettiest was the Dell Venue Pro (i know - it´s my personal taste).

I made this quick concept of what it might look like using Gimp, not the best mock up but it's just an idea of what a Windows Phone version might look like.

I know Windows Phones are locked down and restricted but look at the Home Screen (World Time) Clock; most of us thought it wouldn't work because of how the home tiles refreshed and how most of us also thought that only phone carries were the only ones that could make wide tiles. There is a bunch of talent here on XDA, another exsample is the Lock Screen Widgets.

Oh man maybe someone here has another copy.

An EQ would be nice, but I'm more interested in Beats Audio. HTC will enable this on the HTC Vivd when they release ICS. If the can be enabled with a software update, can their other phones get it? Unlike the Rezound the Vivid didn't launch with it. Are the same audio chips being use in their WP phones?

Have you noticed that nobody else has stated that this platform would die? Or that they're going to Android? This has absolutely zero to do with the original topic, and honestly, nobody really cares if you're going to Android. If you think the platform will die, then stop posting here and giving it attention. I thought we had gotten past all of these nonsense posts. And for the record, your opinion isn't fact - it's actually far from it, and you sound ignorant stating it as though it's a factual future.
Anyway, I have the HTC Sound Enhancer app, but find myself rarely using it. I'm pretty sure it's currently disabled. I remember it causing crashes a few months ago as well.

I've posted this Eq long time ago but no one answered.

Plus 1 for the EQ app. I tried the app from HTC phone but didn't worked on mine. If someone could make it, it would be great.

Your opinion about Windows Phone 7 UI!

Hi All,
It's all great to hear Microsoft officially announces the "Windows Phone 7 Series". Another Mobile OS, put there to compete with other OS's.
But I want to know one thing =>
Am I the only one that find the general UI of "Windows Phone 7" unattractive, "nothing special" and bore-some?
The moment I saw the "Start screen", I said to myself: "Damn, is this the UI Microsoft wanna use to show its competitiveness to other OS's??? ". From my point of view, the look of winmo 6.5.3 on the freshly announced HTC HD mini is WAY BETTER than that of Windows Phone 7.
This is just my opinion, now, what's your opinion about the UI?

I would disagree. I like the visuals. On the contrary, the look is NEW and NOT FAST!!
Everyone has there opinions and taste. I honestly love what MS has done with the revisions. I think visuals are truly innovative and elegant. The animations are uncanny. I do agree the home screen is dull and boring, but the rest of the OS is vibrant. Here's some screen shots from my post. Head over to my post to see the rest, there's like 20 more photos...: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=634429

I do like it as well...looks fresh but whether it is good to use on a daily basis remains to be prooven!
And BTW: the look of the new SenseUI Builds really annoys me! til Version 2.1 everything was fine...but the new ones??? No way.
I won't talk about looks here, because that's personal taste.
Moreover, what counts is functionality - how easy and fast it gets the job done.
This is easily and by far the best and most well thought through UI I've ever seen.
I particularly like
- the ability to pin pretty much everything to the first page (but unlike Sense, as many things as you want), whether it's contacts, programs or whatever
- the things you pin to the first page not being static, but also showing information - a very clever way to bring together the iPhone's icon-based home screen with Windows Mobile's information based home screen.
- the navigation through the pages, with the text on top going out of the screen to show you that there's more you can discover by swiping left/right
- the panorama backgrounds on all the screens (cover arts in music, a random picture in photos etc.)
- the ability for third party developers to integrate their stuff (like additional social networks or streaming services) into the hubs (I hope there will be a lot of freedom for third parties to do so!).
- the seamless integration of all kinds of services in general, whether it's Exchange, Windows Live (finally!!), Facebook...
I also particularly like that some good concepts from previous Windows Mobile versions have been preserved:
- long press menus
- softkeys
- quick search through any list (in WM6.5, it was the keyboard icon, now it's the required search button)
Those enable a consistent UI throughout all applications, contrary to the mess you find on the iPhone, where important buttons like "back" are in different places depending on the application you're in.
What I do NOT like:
- The all applications list: That should be a grid, cause there's lots of wasted space there.
- There seems to be no easy way to get to the music controls while music is playing in the background.
- Apparently there is no easy way to switch between running applications, this seems to work much like WM6.5, with the back button taking you to the application you used before. This is a mess, the back button should open some kind of task switcher instead.
I love the new start menu in Windows Phone 7. Titanium didn't display enough information on the home page, requiring you to hover over items to see information. Windows Mobile 6.1 today screens were too small to tap. Sense is either functional (icons for quick launching) or informational (clock), but never both at the same time. Why doesn't the launch icon for Messenger show me the latest messages I have? Why don't my contacts' icons show me the latest interaction I had with them?
Windows Phone 7 adds all of those in a simple, attractive UI. You can give a Windows Phone 7 to any person and they'd probably be able to use it, but give Sense to a person and they might not. (you might think the contrary... I thought Sense was easy to use, until I saw my peers struggle with it and typing on the keyboard... on a HD2...)
Agree with you all!
Yes, you guys are right! Looks are personal taste!
But right now, which OS would you choose, out of the following: Windows Phone 7, WebOS or Android?? My choice goes to Android!

I'm not sure how important the applications list is going to be going forward. With the way apps can integrate into the "hubs" I think you will not be using this list very often.
I'm hoping the music controls function like the ZuneHD. The ZuneHD has a dedicated media control button that brings up a screen overlay when pressed. This overlay allows you to pause/play, skip/fast forward/rewind and increase/decrease volume. Also, on the ZuneHD, you can pause and play a song by tapping the album art.
I am very eager to see how the multitasking works/doesn't work when they show the SDK at MIX next month.
Overall, I love the UI. It seems like an evolution of the ZuneHD to me.

Android
I actually have three upgrade eligibilities this year. If the rumor about the SE X10 coming to ATT is true, that will be one of them. I will also wait and see what Android phones HTC sends to ATT.
I will also, without any doubt, reserve one of the upgrades for WMP7. I had very low expectations for MS and WMP7 but I was very impressed with what they showed on Monday. I can't wait for MIX to see the rest.
Of course, I'm a phone whore so I am never completely satisfied anyway!
In my opinion I think the UI looks awesome. It's unique, fresh, new, & looks like nothing else (excluding the Zune HD). the start menu & the App list look a little bit dull but the whole Hubs system just looks wonderful. I like the new idea of the context menus. WinPho 7 is not evolution from the previous WM, it is Revolution.
From a UI perspective I really like the thought behind it. It's pretty much a directory structure that's self organizing with a 'splash' screen for each directory. I have alot of applications stored on my wm device that I store over various folders. Directories are a good way of organizing sizable amounts of information. This UI is basically an improvement to that age old structure, putting some transparency on this structured yet intuitive setup.
It's visually impressive, yet does not have that bells and whistle feel that can get stale.
But I take objection to their comments that a phone is not a PC. That's the wrong message to send. A PC just stands for personal computer...you can't get more PC than a handheld device. It's clearly a PC, the message they should send is that it's not a desktop, it's not a laptop, it's a handheld device. While still a PC you expect a suitable UI to pair with each version of a PC you interact with.
From a marketing perspective, I think the windows phone 7 would mesh well with their 'I'm a PC' marketing campaign. A commercial seeing someone working on a desktop/laptop and then using mobile office, and exchange to take that to your phone would be a great commercial to make.
Microsoft is missing the picture with that overly simplistic comment.
If I could carry the power of my desktop with me, I would just need different display devices with the appropriate UI to interact with my PC. That's really the destiny of computers...well not even to carry the hardware, but to just have different methods of display and interaction with a single device. So you can sit down at a kb and mouse, or pick a up a multitouch display, or take a handheld on a train with you but still have common storage, and processing.
Great UI.
But I am not happy that it requires a minimum of 1GHz processor. Even then the graphics rendering especially the Album scrolling is not very fluid. That was very cleary observed in Joe's Demo considering that he hand only a handhul of pictures. My iphone has @3500 pictures and I can scroll through it like water flowing across the screen.
This version of WP7 is not my favorite. I like the other betas.

And this was a demo of pre-release software. I wouldn't put any weight behind the peformance that was shown in the demo. It will almost certainly be much improved before the RTM.

It won't work it needs 2GHz processor. You will have to overclock, haha just kidding.
My biggest concern with this new OS is the "need" to integrate with social networks. I'm by no means interested to see the status messages my friends/collegues post on facebook, twitter, linkedin, myspace etc. Also, WM7 is pointing towarsds xbox live integration, which will -as I understood- in basics also be used as a new "Microsoft hardware only" social network.
Another thing that bothers me about the new UI is that it looks slowish, even in a demo.. Doesn't look too appealing yet so far!

Besides the fact that the screenshot has already been identified as being a photoshopped fake, it's pretty common sense that having Google+ natively built in into Windows Phone is highly unlikely. There are no official APIs yet that could be used. Not to mention the fact that Google+ would be the first Google Service ever to be natively supported by our OS.

same here, don't care about google+.
It's gym of social networking. Everyone signed up for it and no one actually visits it anymore!
I would love the Skype integration in Tango though. However, that with full back up functions probably will be delivered in Apollo. Sounds more realistic. Worth the wait because we know MS can integrate it, and integrate it much better than we think!
WpCentral Does make a good point here "Edit: However, it's not clear if PocketPC.ch is claiming the screenshot is real or were just using it for illustrative purposes." it could be just an edited screenshot as maybe they do not have it on their phone per say but have seen or tried it...
There is at least some read-only Google+ API:
https://developers.google.com/+/api/
Furthermore there are Android and iOS Apps for Google+ so technically it should be possible if Google is not trying to stop MS from having Google+ integration.
Also Google is probably trying to get Google+ where ever they can.
Yeah the screenshot looks strange, but PocketPC.ch is a reputable source.
Google+ I don't care about. Google Talk though, that would be a huge bonus to get integrated into Messaging. If they managed to get Google Talk video and audio calls as well, that'd be awesome too, but unexpected. I'd think Skype will be the only native source for that.
I'm still going to take this news with a grain of salt though. Sounds like just wishful thinking to me.
The original source (pocketpc.ch) has leaked another image:

The author claims that he put the pocketpc.ch watermark behind the text and also explains how he did it (using multiple layers etc.).
Furthermore (like I said before), PocketPC.ch has quite a reputation to loose so I don't think they would present it the way they did if they were not really sure this is real. Otherwise something like this is clearly marked as a rumor, but this one was not.

Google Talk
Don't you think Google Talk would make a lot more sense since Google+ is Google's social profile thingy, whereas Google Talk is Google's IM service lol just saying.
I still have doubts though, like I posted on WPCentral, Microsoft just announced a skype app soon, but if they were to integrate it in tango, the better. And implementation of Google services on windows phone is very unlikely, but then again, Google+ is becoming a flop (thats right people, failing), since most people did sign up for it but never actually uses it (take me and my group of friends for example-- actually scratch that, make that my whole facebook friends list). The news I heard that 90million uses Google services, well those are services apart from Plus. Again, very unlikely, apart from the fact that wp users dont have an official youtube app from either google or microsoft themselves (the one in marketplace from microsoft is just a link with a fancy icon).

Well they only mentioned a Skype app in interviews, no real announcement.
Just a few days ago I read an article that said now that WP is somewhat mature and you can work with it, new features will be coming at a faster rate (e.g. LTE), so I think this Skype and Google+ integration might very well be true.
In the end we can only wait, maybe we will see something at MWC in February.
Windows Phone keeps on getting more interesting.
Just hope people are going to buy it more now, it's a great OS just the sales are not representative.

Android launched - 23rd September 2008 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history
Skype App Announced Jan 2009 - http://about.skype.com/2009/01/skype_launches_on_android_plat.html/
Skype App released - 5th Oct 2010 - http://blogs.skype.com/en/2010/10/android.html
So After Android was released, it took 4 months to announce a Skype app and it took 21 months after that to get the app released. So in total 25 months just to get a Skype app on Android.
Windows phone released - October 2010
Skype app announced - April 2011
Skype app will be released - let's say April 2012?
So after Windows Phone was released, it took 6 months to announce a Skype app and it might take 12 months tops to get an app and probably by Oct 2012, Skype will be integrated right into the OS which makes it 18 months to release an app and 24 months to bake the whole utility inside the OS.
With 1 month to spare and Skype already integrated within the OS, I wonder if Windows Phone Users are hyping for nothing or Android fanboys are jealous of EVERYTHING?!
May I remind you the fact that we are talking about an OS that is not trying to copy and be cheap iPhone at all? - that's on top of that 1 month spare after integrating skype into the NEW Unique OS.
Please don't pee on your own legs again by posting silly things in Windows Phone development forums. This will save us all some happy moments. Have a lovely weekend.

Anyone literate enough would know that these are add-on IN A update. A little reading and you would know what update might have on top of these ADD-ONs.

This is pheraps one of the biggest misteries of the human history ....
Could be possible, Mango brought a lot in half a year (and fixed a lot of essential issues like PN). They have had pretty much the same amount of time for Tango. Also there has not been much word on the update, everybody is very quite, so it could be a good thing... hopefully they will try to surprise everybody.
At least I hope Tango will still open up some more missing API's and improve the multitasking. And hopefully they will expand all bing features to all localisations, e.g. I can finally use that barcode scanning program, but still no bing music (if not set to En-US) this is obviously ridiculous.
Although Skype integration will be amazing, I hope they will execute it better than the Facebook chat, which drains the battery like crazy and does not allow offline messages and does not allow you to log of on messenger and use facebook as standalone, hence useless in this implementation for most people I know who use WP7.
But other then that I'm very positive... can't wait for the update

how does Facebook chat drain the battery like crazy? I haven't noticed any rapid battery usage whenever I have it on which is all the time. I set it to away when I'm not using it and still no rapid battery drainage. As for the messenger problem this is why one should create a new live account and add that first when setting up WP.

It does, try it yourself without the fb chat on/away/whatever vs offline. The battery drains noticebly faster for me with the integrated messenger activated.
As for your second suggestion, no offence, but what you are saying is not a proper solution. A feature should not be half implemented so the average consumer does not even use it. If you want to lure users with cool features, than implement them properly so everybody can use them and tell their friends. You can toggle off facebook but you can't vice versa (yes I know the technical side of the story, but that is no excuse) which is just odd and not understandable for the average consumer.

Don't know when was Tango tree created, but Mango tree started in October 2010, before WP7 was launched even.

AND maybe also put a little time in support for your other apps? i mailed, Pm'ed, posted in "widget maker" thread. all without result (i paid for the app btw)
I do not support that app, it is no longer my responsibility. Also, i dont read pms from people not in my friends list.
Now, if you like i can refund you the cost of widget maker, as its unlikely that anyone will be returning to it in house (weve sold it to sony, apparently its big in japan).

I'm not asking for a refund. I was just looking for support. Play says you sell it so i try to contact you. I guess that's normal. I don't see it documented that it's not your app anymore. I'm sorry but you should have documented that!!!
I tried this and it makes my home screens extremely laggy/choppy, even with it overclocked to 1.5 GHz.

English is not my native language but this looks to me as if you are trying to offend me. This shows that you have good manners and that you are a real business man. A normal person would have answered my simple request by telling me that the app is no longer supported. A normal person would have closed the app's thread here and a normal person would have deleted the app from Play Store or at least edited the product description.

Maybe youve just got a lot of stuff on the homescreens? Or your animation settings are high?
Even on the tf700, which has a considerably hiugher resolution running on the same t3 soc everything is fine...
Try to disable scrolling (its in the performance settings) if all else fails...

How to create a material ui app for my website??

Hello guys i want to create a material ui awesome app for my device can anyone tell me how to do it?? I had android studio sdk.. But don't know how to do please help me guys

Hi,
do you have any development skill?
If not I suggest you start learning. Codecademy provides nice tutorials.
If you wanna stick to web technologies for your app I suggest these:
codecademy.com/tracks/javascript
codecademy.com/tracks/web
Then I recommend to build an app usign ionic framework (ionicframework.com).
Pretty easy to setup.
Once you are done setting it up you can apply materializecss.com for example. Gives you nice material design controls.
Reply: How to create a material ui app for my website??
I am a little confused. Are you wanting to make an Android app or a Web app with material design. If your thinking about design at this stage, I think you going at this backwards. The design depends on the functionality, but the functionality is what makes an app. But to answer both for Android and Web apps:
Android: Google basically gives you everything you need for a material design app. All you have to do in make the back-end and a lil front end work then you have yourself an app. I know its simpler said than done but here is my philosophy when working with something new or I am trying to learn: Don't Imitate! Understand! Programming requires a lot of mental energy and knowledge. I think tutorials today fall in the mindset of holding your hand too much and making you reach a product by the end of it with no knowledge of what you just did. And then you try stuff on your own then your like "Well where do I start?". You will save yourself a bunch of time by not just diving in and trying to make something big as your first app, but instead just take it little by little. Can you make an activity say "hello world"? Great now try to put a fragment in the activity with a list view that has many "hello worlds". Did you figure that out? Then try to make a pop up(toast) say hello world. Your going to have to start somewhere. I have no idea how skilled you are but most likely you either know how to program but are stumped or you just don't know how to program at all. Trust me buddy, I have been there. After learning Java at my University I thought well I could do it, but I was sadly mistaken. My professor taught us Swing when JavaFX came out long ago. UHG SO UGLY! So I just went back to Java and tried to understand Java as must as I could without going too deep into it. Then as I explained I made "hella" amounts of hello world programs. "Hello Worlds" that appeared in the notifications, "Hello Worlds" that were in a settings activity. I even made a lil app that popped up with "There is no spoon" then you can switch it in the settings to "Oh Theirs My Spoon!". You just gotta not do what most tutorials do and stop and think about what you wrote. You will go farther than you would ever imagine. :good:
Web App: Ok if you want to make a material design web app its pretty simple with the CSS framework called Materialize. It may take getting used to and you may have to edit your own CSS but its all there. Though I have no idea why you want to make an "Android App" for you website. Are you wanting to show a concept of the app? You seem a lil out of focus of what you want. I would watch this talk on youtube: Making Badass Developers - Kathy Sierra (Serious Pony) keynote. Its saved me from ultimately quitting programming as a whole. But the point is to just that you need to be honest with yourself on your own skills. If you feel stumped then its time to go back to some basics or maybe take it in a smaller steps. If you do this you will definitely be able to make your app.
Sorry I wish I could post links to the things I recommend but I am still new to these forums. Anyways I hope you read this and other beginners read this. Sorry if its tldr post. I just wanted to give some good advice.
You could use React and Material UI components.

If you are a beginner than the use of IDE is good like Android studio. Read some guides on Android app development, so that you can have a basic idea.
Once you clear all the basics, then start developing with simple UI. Don't go into deeply. When you successfully build the app with simple coding, then start with the next level.
For designing material UI, it is better to use Pre-made UI kits instead of designing the app from scratch. With these UI kits, you only need to customize the elements according to your need in the Photoshop or Illustrator, without giving too much efforts.

Why don't just upload it here? In xda? Will get better feedback here then play store. Besides, it will give bad impression to the account owner if users give bad rating to your app. XDA already provided a thread dedicated exactly for what you're trying to do. Use it.?

This is ionic material.
Truth to be told ,Ionic v2 is not ready for production and due to the Angular 2.x dependency it's wayyy different.
The difference between v1 and v2 is night and day.
With beta 10 of Ionic, we are closer to "ready for production".
A UI/UX guy will tell you about how to achieve that exactly but the way I look at it, you can achieve a similar thing by using a background(this has the vertical line )to the list view and the profile picture circles will be image views to which images are loaded dynamically. I am sure there is a much better way to do this but this is definitely one way you can try to do that
There are many guidelines on the web for to upload your apps on google play store. If you are going to do this with ionic you should check folder struture very carefully.

How to create a material ui app for my website..?
To be completely forthright, I think you got a major issue to utilize this stuff.
Firstly, it relies on upon Facebook's View system called React so you need to know well some essential things.
Secondly,React is absolutely a javascript stuff and on the off chance that you utilize it by coding plain javascript, that would be an other enormous issue which may stop you.otherwise in the event that you utilize it's sentence structure sugar called jsx, despite everything you have to pay a lot of times to learn well it with the goal that you could know how React function and afterward you could utilize it in your venture.
Thirdly, before the previously mentioned happen, there are still a few things required that you dont need to know well NodeJs or webpack or NPM yet at any rate you ought to know well how to utilize them as the straightforward apparatuses.
All in all, is it an absolute necessity that you have no other decision yet need to utilize this stuff and just act it as a basic css system?
If not! you can surrender now aside from you are prepared to learn huge amounts of conditions!!!
On the off chance that yes! I guidance you to introduce nodejs first and after that introduce npm and after that utilization npm to introduce respond perhaps despite everything you have to introduce a few devices like babel browserify or webpack(the best) and afterward plunge into React and after that you could start figuring out how to utilize MUI~ sounds...mass
There isnt a speedy pickup route for MUI simply like they said!
Material-UI is a set of React components in addition to being a CSS framework. I don't know if you can get much use out of it without understanding React.
The easiest way to get started is to install the examples and start from there.
If you don't want to deal with a front-end framework like React, and just want CSS and JS files with a setup time as quick as Bootstrap, check out the Materialize library.

So far it is great I am typing up this comment using the S8+ in Dex.
It is great to use any of my Android apps in a desktop environment. I use more Android apps than Windows apps daily, so having access to those Android apps in a desktop like environment makes the whole experience so much greater.
But there are a few small things bugging me.
/* Audio: My mistake, this turns out not to have any problems... */
* Vibration: I am hearing the device vibrate when in Dex because it is not disabling haptic feedback.
* Fullscreen apps: Unfornately if your app doesn't support resizing it is only displayed in a fixed window size which can not be manually changed to anything other than a phone sized UI although you can switch between portrait & landscape, although this is not very effective when you are trying to use something like Microsoft Remote Desktop, video players or games.
* Singular notificaton pop-ups: This can often lead to notifications fighting over which is visible, and effectively makes it unviewable.
So my conclusion is that there are a few bugs, but surely they will be fixed with updates when Samsung is made aware of these bugs.
But I wouldn't write it off because of these bugs, as the device has only just become available to pre-order customers, so feedback is still required for Samsung to become aware of these bugs.
But well done to Samsung for making a usable desktop experience which imo is better than Remix OS by the way.
p.s. I'm not aware of how to report these bugs to Samsung directly.
*EDIT*
Also worth noting is the fact that Android O supports launching any app (not just specially developed apps) on a secondary output display, I have tested this in a custom launcher I made for the Nexus 6P running Android O. This could mean that eventually we will be able to use Dex whilst the devices screen will still be usable for additional content.

If the cost is not very different you may want to try cancelling your order with Amazon and see how quickly you would get it from the link in my last post (I'm not sure if they do international services though for those of you interested).

No problem!
To be honest, I'm happy to help anyone get their hands on this tech as soon as possible, because I've wanted to see this become the norm for years. So the more people that buy into it, the more likely we are to see all vendors getting behind this idea and bringing us their own alternatives and maybe even Google might bring this functionality natively to Android!.
Some look at others who have tried and failed to deliver this experience and assume that this is going to go the same way... but it is brilliant and I think that now we have the right level of hardware performance to enable this to be usable (I've got 7 windows open and the device hasn't even got remotely warm!!!) it now makes sense, and with a company as big as Samsung in the mobile industry behind this tech, it can only be a positive in my honest opinion!
Goodbye to the Microsoft Windows & Intel (Wintel) monopoly and welcome to Android desktop on ARM.
This can only be good for consumers going forward as prices come down eventually!

My apologies...
Thanks for your help though.
It was just that Iwas not clicking the up arrow in the bottom right tray area, Iwas just thinking that audio settings would be under the speaker icon...

Glad I could help my friend....
I preordered the Sentio Andromium Laptop off Kickstarter last year. Gonna wait for that and see if I need to invest in DeX.

I can't wait to get a Dex. I work in IT and I think having one device to do basically everything would be great.
