why my camera sometimes can't be used and there is a notification "Camera Failed".?

I had this issue too..just reboot your phone and everything will works normaly again..
i hv this issue alsi when i'm using lower class memory card. now using class 10 16gb card with bionic rom without this camera failed problem.

Try to flash a new Camera.apk to you phone. Hopefully that is only software problem.

I had the same problem and I solved it by uninstalling oovoo....it's only a case???

do u have cwm on ur phone? reboot ur phone into recovery then choose advance and choose fix permission, wait until finish, then reboot ur phone after it finish
Unfortunately I have the same problem. My camera does not work anymore. I just receive the message "Camera failed". I still have the stock rom installed and I did not modify too much (I just installed some apps). I have already reset the phone to factory settings which did not solve my problem. Does anybody have an idea what I could try to fix the problem?

I just have formatted my device and flashed it with a stock rom. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem with the camera. I still got the error message "camera failed" when I click on the camera app. Any ideas? Is it a hardware problem? Should I flash a custom rom?
I got that message once, and I panicked. Fortunately, rebooting did it just fine.
Perhaps there is something wrong with the firmware...I searched the net and found this article, maybe useful, IDK.
Thanks for the reply and for the link. Unfortunately I do not understand step 3. When I scroll to "Camera" I do not see a 2nd option which should be named as "user". I just see "camera" and "camcorder". What should I do? Do I have to root the phone?
ok, I have rooted my phone and I have tried the fix described in the link above again. However, I was not successfull. I do not get these options described in the link ("user"). Maybe I am using a wrong version of Pro Launcher. I just downloaded the new version from market...Anyone with a suggestion/idea?
Camera failed
I used to face this problem quite a lot when i was using the stock rom, but after flashing to cow's rom, the problem went away, no more camera failed anymore
Yesterday after upgrade to baseband v. i8150dxlc1 Kernel [email protected]#3 (KIES UPGRADE) i dont have that problem anymore

what to do now?
try to remove memory card & SIM card then boot the phone
if it give the same error try to flash again
if all this didn't work go to the Samsung service center

Tried all firmwares still same problem...lost all hope
Go back to your older firmware
go to badadownloads.com they have a video showing how to downgrade from bada 2.
I tried downgrading technique also but still same error "abnormal sw detected"...any other ideas?
Guess what i sucessfully flashed and repaired my phone...only problem is that i have "camera failed" now...any ideas how to rectify it?

Also What FW do you have now? if XXJK1 then i think you forget to flash *.pfs file

I flashed it with firmware GT-S8530_XEF_S8530XXKF1_S8530OXAKD7 and this fixed the phone. I flashed *.pfs file this time but still camera failed, any ideas?
Sorry i have no idea what is your current problem
maybe you should go back to your previous FW or try that fix

Well my phone is alive and working, only problem is that when i try to open camera, i get "camera failed". I also tried the link you posted but still same problem.

Since this moring my phone is constantly rebooting. It first started when I tried to update 6 apps via the market. I´m on Paranoid Android 1.9.9.1. it worked smooth without any problems until today. I´ve alredy tried to reflash erverything but everytime i get the same result: the phone working for a minute and then suddenly out of the nowhere rebooting even if i don´t use it. Then i tried to wipe my phone which didn´t work either. Neither via cwm nor through the settings. Of course i have already searched the forum for possible solutions but it seems like i´m the only one who has ever experienced it. Could someone please led me to a thread wher my problem is discussed or provide me a solution i don´t what to do . Thanks in advance for everyone who is trying to help me.
P.S. I found out that i doesn´t reboot if i do not unlock it. If i unlock it either with sim inserted or not it reboots. WTF???

Flash your phone back to stock first to see if that resolves the issue.

I´ve already tried to do something similar, but the problem is that everytime I try to copy something to my sd it reboots.

You don't need to copy anything to your sdcard. Flash back to stock using this.

If you have any CPU apps that apply settings at boot maybe that's causing the reboots

no i haven´t got any cpu apps installed and have neither played with the cyanogenmod options. Im going to flash JRO03C via Odin because i´ve got some problems with efrants guide.
EDIT: It worked thanks for the help guys
using micromax a1 past 1 month and this is the only issue i have ..... randomly at times im not able to write data on micro sd card ..... means not able to store clicked pictures , delete/edit content , download content from whatsapp etc , worst part is that it happens without any warning or notification , due to which i lose many pics thinking that i have clicked them but not .... when i open quickpic ( gallery app ) it shows toast notification - "not an error (code 0): could not open the database in read/write mode" , googled the error and found that it is an issue in kitkat , btw im using everything stock ,locked bootloader , non-rooted . i didn't find any proper solution to this.
Any help ?
P.S - problem disappears after a reboot but again comes back after few hours , tried resetting sd card ..... works fine in othe mobile/PC ....

Nope, said to flash you with stock rom using sp flash tool, lollipop update will be in the last week of January

make sure you have the reuqired drivers installed, just see youtube tutorials, you will get an idea on in this A1 forum, hit thanks if i helped you
I have the exact same problems and i tried using diffrent sd cards but its no use. I know lollipop will fix this issue because google said its bringing back support for sd cards in android 5. Till then i dont know how i can fix this issue. Btw i am on ART runtime . is that causing this problem or will flashing another stock rom work ? Please help.
SD Card Issue
My friend had the same issue with his A1, and I being his "go to guy", I did factory reset, factory reset from recovery mode, installed stock rom again but none of this worked. Finally, i replaced his SD card with mine and tried to click a photo and voila it worked. So morale of the story, buy a new SD card.
Hi, I recently unlocked bootloader in my device, and I proceeded to install HD Revolution ROM.
I had some issues, but I solved them. Then, next to install ROM and boot it, appear 3 message error:
- unfortunately system ui has stopped
- unfortunately easyaccessservice has stopped
- unfortunately htc dot view has stopped
I tried to solve this but I cant, I wiped cache (in other post recomend it for this issue) but I try to restart and same error appear. And the phone stays at: Unlocking your SIM card and setting up your phone", but it dont stop.
Any ideas for this??

and when I wanted to call to someone pop-up is showing this text "Unfortunately, Phone has stopped". I had same problem with Cyanogenmod 12 and 12.1. This is so annoying that i can't repair it alone. I hope for fast help.

did you clean install before install any custom rom? like cyanogenmod or RR? try to wiped system , data , cache and internal storage. and try to install that with no any gapps package is installed. if problem is fixed may be problem is from your gapps package, but if problem still exist i want to ask something. are you dual sim device or single sim device?
EDIT : and remember. before install cm 12 and up you need base rom android 4.3 or 15.4.A.1.9 to running this custom rom properly or same with dual sim device
I'm Single sim. I did full wipe before installing it. I tried also without gapps. So now i got another problem. Because my USB port in phone doesn't work. So i can't flash stock rom :/ Zipaligned stock rom will work?

i don't know, but flash ftf stock firmware is required for back it stock .

At least try to get logcat to know what's wrong.
Install app Logcat Extreme
Launch and give root
Press 4th button and tap Confirm
Minimize app and produce crash
Return to app
Press button with floppy disc
Select Save current log
Upload file from folder /sdcard/LogcatX
Also you can back to stock without PC: use backup
This really can be solution. Maybe radio stuck in bad state due custom ROM's.
Now I got all what I need to be happy Now I will try back to stock with thread you posted and I will write if everything will be ok. BIG THANKS to you

Reverting to stock was suggested as fix for custom ROM's.
So maybe try them too. Curious about result.
