honeycomb port to mt4g

This is a port of honeycomb to the MyTouch 4g nothing but the launcher and touchscreen work but it is honeycomb on the mytouch 4g.
REQUIRES CLOCKWORK 2.X AND MAKE SURE YOU DO A NAND BACKUP BEFORE YOU FLASH

where is the link! lol noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i seen the launcher... is it the actual 3.0 with that tool bar at the bottom? or is it just 2.3 with 3.0 label>?

the script and the binaries needs to be updated so clockwork can see it as a vaild signed zip file

I am a noob at all this. but can't you flash a zip file through recovery by toggling signed verification off?

I just found a Honeycomb Rom for the DesireHD. I will try to port it over to the MyTouch4G.
I will use this post to keep you all updated on the progress. Will start working on it tonight.

Was hoping that you'd show up from the mt3g forums. Nice to see that your in for the mt4g.

Thanks, yeah I took a little break from Deving but I am back and will start working on this. Trying to get the team back together to work on it also.
But just like with my Roms from the G1 and MT3G (BiffMod) I wont release until its tested and I know it wont cause to many headaches. So if you want to test send me a PM only looking for like five, please make sure your serious and a knowledgeable android users who can give logcats and understand what a logcat shows. Thank you. In the PM send me you gmail address. We will use Google docs to communicate.

I had been doing CM7 nightlies (after Iced Glacier, CM6, and then CM7 Alpha and Previews), and after a number of episodes of having to fully wipe to clear up residual flash-over stuff (broken WiFi, etc.) which sometimes took hours, I had settled into the CM7 RC1 - which is working issue-free for me.
Now here comes honeycomb - and I am supposed to push the RC CM7 aside and start all over with this when it is made available?

[APP] CALL RECORDING on MT4G!!

Do this at your _own_ risk (if there even is any)!
Prerequisites: 1. A rooted device. 2. a working knowledge of how to use ADB and Fastboot.
None of these prereqs will be covered here as there are many threads abounding with information on them.
I take NO CREDIT for this WHATSOEVER!!! This was done by avs333, I'm just condensing the info here for the MT4G. There are a couple of threads for this for the Desire and Desire HD.
This is currently only for the stock Froyo for the MT4G. Download the file CallRecordingKernel.zip from here:

Install it like this:
Unzip the zImage and bcm4329.ko file.
In terminal Type: adb reboot bootloader,
Then: fastboot flash zimage /path/to/zImage
Then: fastboot reboot
Your wifi will be broken, so following the instructions from that thread:
adb push bcm4329.ko /sdcard/bcm4329.ko
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 /system
cat /sdcard/bcm4329.ko > /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko
Now your wifi will work.
Then install the file attached to this thread called CallRecorder_v.1.0.20_alpha_2.apk
VIOLA!! Done!

As long as it doesn't mess with anything else I think it is a great option to have.

faux, I do, of course I had originally updated to the leaked GB release you posted, but since HTC has not released the source code for the stock GB kernel, avs333 has not been able to work to enable call recording in GB. So I went back to stock Froyo, but I LOVED the leaked version of GB, clean and fast, no problems on it at all!!!

I would so use this for when my evil boss calls me and then forgets half the stuff he promises.

Please do enable this in your kernels thanks

I would also like to have it built into your kernels.

Here's the patch against the stock glacier _froyo_ kernel. Please tell your rom-makers so that they'd be able to apply it.
I don't expect any probs when the gb sources will be available (I'll see to it anyway)
Please be sure to download CallRecorder http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048182 from the DHD thread, this patch won't work with other apps!!!

I just use Google Voice. Pressing 4 during a call starts recording and it announces it to the other side so everything is nice and legal. If I have a reason to record a call, I find the announcement is usually enough to make the problem go away anyways.

The fonts when you hold the power down are a little off and cuts the words off like airplane mode. Other than that great job on the rom and keep the good work up

hey kid. How about you go to the theme section and post this there. This isn't in no way shape or form a rom. It's a kang with a theme like the other 90% of roms out in Xda. I do however give you kudos on not renaming 'dcbeast AOSP' or something of that nature. When will people learn.

I understand where your coming from and you're absolutely right that its not a rom or at least his own custom made rom, but give the guy a break. He said he's trying to learn how to develop roms. Let's not run away a potential developer by being rude.

I appoligize to the mt4g xda community and to faux123 for post kang work and in the wrong section..
I just had know idea were to post this because i wanted to work on a rom a rather than just a theme itself but it did not want to try to build from scratch with any proir knowledge to android. i just wanted to work on a rom and try to fix things and make additions here an there until i eventually could develop somthing for the community that has given me so much and such an intrest in android and which was the main reason i got a mt4g. I will come back when i can develop a rom by myself or possibly with feedback from a different community.

Yes, but there is no need to make a whole ROM. Just make a flashable zip with the themed apps/framework. Ok. I'm done.

Don't be too harsh on him. He pm'ed me right before he posted this. I gave him 100% permission to do so. I wish I could have posted this earlier (I was out with my buddies). He said he wanted to learn about Rom cooking and he wanted to use my aosp as a learning tool, I told him to go right ahead and I even told him about a few hidden gems for my aosp so he can maximize the theming engine. Now he wrote me another pm to apologize to me and I was confused why he was apologizing until I saw this thread and the responses he received. We all start from somewhere and we all make rookie mistakes (I personally have made tons of mistakes), so lets cut him some slack and enjoy the time and effort he spent on this project and thank him for it.

exactly! y is this community so uptight about kanged work, especially when credit and permission is given, so many potential devs are lost this way... smh...

Thank you to the OP for this, and going about relaesing it the right way! Thanks to faux for the great base as well! Keep up the great work bro and I hope to see more from you! Finally this phone is getting some love, dont worry about the negativr ppl, just do you and release what you wish with proper credits and permission! I been crackflashin alot this last week and love all this new spice in my life! There are a few things that can be fixed here and there on this THEMED FAUX ROM, but all in all a great first release! If you followed Honeysense, you'd see how it much has changed in it, and how intensely themed it was. We're just getting started. This is just a wee little thread now, but when it blossoms, you'll be amazed, like I was.
You know what AOSP looks like, nothing magical has been added other than light theming. Once theming is heavier, I'll add in screenies.

Every aosp rom has CM7 in it,we all knw they are the BIG DOGS,but why every new dev or themer or whatever yall wanna call them come out people bash them left & right..Cm7 doesnt have alot roms with heavy themes,yes credit needs to be givin where its due,they lack that part but they'll learn...

this is actually a rom that was ported from desireHD [found here] there is a mention of it in his OP "(and GazaIan was the magical little boy that ported it to our phones )" He maybe should have thrown a link up to that site but either way he does mention the orignal dev and place of origin, but maybe need to list his "thanks" a bit better... you need to understand that every rom has a "base" whether it be AOSP/CM7/Sense or a combination of them.. So i would say this is a rom, a heavily themed rom, but its still a rom..IMO a theme would be something created for a specific rom that could be applied only to that rom, its all open for argument, but its not like any of us are a corporation with a staff of software engineers creating and developing overlays for android... so i dont know why u r creating this issue esp considering you are not even flashing it??? And i am not sure what the truth is about the Dev's on this board but i can tell you that no one here is getting paid like its a job nor is it an obligation for anyone.. this is a hobby for us nerds, u r not obligated to use any of these roms.. what u say is in no way constructive to the thread, so y do u even bother? Mods around here do a good job of keeping things right, dont think we need a rent-a-mod sh*tting on the board and devs..

Mention of these roms that the OP will port and has ported are in the OP..
To the OP, sweet port looks like they do good work.
Is anyone having issues with gaaps? I flashed the latest gapps 06/11 and I cannot use the browser or market no fc just immediately closes without notice... I reflashed a few times wiping every time of course, I am re downloading to check whether or not it was a bad dl....

Having the same issues. Market closes and no connecting to wifi after the usual formatting and wiping. Fixing permissions also did not work. Even tried flashing it directly over cm7 and didn't work.

this is actually a rom that was ported from desireHD [found here] there is a mention of it in his OP "(and GazaIan was the magical little boy that ported it to our phones )" He maybe should have thrown a link up to that site but either way he does mention the orignal dev and place of origin, but maybe need to list his "thanks" a bit better...

actually that's just what I came to do today, because I was so tired that I just added it and left, but by the end of this week the thread is going to look sexy.
Btw as to the issues, I noticed them shortly after releasing them and I thought about pulling this back.. but nah, But I will be fixing them.

[ROM][PORT][AOKP][6/11/2012]blindICE port

First off I would like to thank the following:
-blindndumb - for letting me port the ROM http://www.blindndumb.com/
-blackwing182 - for letting me use his ROM
-synthetic.nightmare - for his help in wifi, bluetooth, etc.
-Mr.Highway - for his porting guide
-the other devs
-my testers: jamkul and exemp30
This ROM was a request from a user, so I made it for him and sharing it with you all
what works:
-camera and camcorder (480p and below for back camera; FFC: CIF or QVGA)
-the main things
bugs:
-trackpad isnt fully working. can only scroll, but cannot click an app or whatever
-you tell me
Instructions:
1. wipe data, system, etc
2. flash ROM
3. flash gapps
4. flash blindICE FFC v2 fix
5. flash a different kernel (resolves the bootloop problems everyone has been having with my ports )
6. flash blindICE trackpad fix
*steps 4-6 do not have to be in order
Optional:
1. flash wificalling rilfix

this will be my last port, since i do not think i can maintain more than 3. heck, 2 is already bad enough . idk if i will maintain this one as much as the other two

i know i should ignore them...but still gets on my nerves. plus, its like saying the actual dev's ROM is junk. i'm only porting them over. i appreciate devs a lot. they keep our phones alive. now that ive been porting over ROMs, i feel how actual devs are now. its time consuming to work on ROMs and maintaining a thread, but they do it for the users. and do it for fun. im starting to realize that now as im maintaining these ports/threads
so i want to thank all devs for doing what they do. keep it up!
