If anyone is having system problems reformat! - Gen9, Gen10 General

I was having all sorts of problems when I changed from honeycomb to ics . I then started reading on here and tried the reformat option of installing the latest firmware and it worked great. Highly commended compared to ota

Flashed rooted repair.

Hi everyone,
I have a quick noob question. I've Flashed ICS Iberia and it work beautifully and after rooting and doing a few changes even better. Installed Xperia S's home and a custom mod. Excellent so far. Then i started tweaking With a few "cleaning" apps and it all went down. Slower, messages FC, etc.
So my question is: can I repair it through SEUS and Root again or should I flash the rom again?
Thanks in advance!

Flash again but next time do a nandroid backup before starting to tweek things. Take this as a "restore point". Then you can do several backups at different stages of your tweekings and if things go wrong you can promptly return to previous state. (got a large sd ?)

AKOP apps restore

I recently installed the newest aokp as of 7-11-12 release and was trying to restore apps from tb off a gb rom I was using (calks el29) I get them to restore everything works fine but when I restart the phone certain apps that require install to sd such as aldiko or some games are gone any ideas on how to restore them hopefully one that doesn't involve me having do do everything over again thanks in advance for the help

Dont do that. Install your apps from scratch to make sure they don't screw anything up.
ICS and GB are different OS's
That really doesn't tell me much. I I've been restoring with no problems since android 2.1 Ive restored on ics builds built on stock with no probs its only with aokp and cm9

Just installed aldiko fresh then imported the books (which installs to sd card) and restarted and it still didn't stick

BSOD, halo burn-in, graphic glitches: V20C

I've been running HoNo's cwm flashable V20C off and on since its release, more so than any other Rom, and experienced few issues if any. I couple weeks ago I decided to test some different roms (pa, cna, mui, a few cm10 nightly) but eventually ended up back at v20c after fresh wipe and clean install, due to some of the bugs in the other roms ( don't get met wrong devs, stellar job on some solid roms, just waiting for more stable releases). Now after flashing all these and coming back to v20c the phone ran great for a week, but has now started having graphical glitches in Facebook and other apps, eating battery, and just generally behaving like one of the older cm10 nightlys I had previously flashed. Then earlier today I got a black screen of death that I had to pull the battery for, and resulted in the halo-like screen burn in for about ten minutes after the phone rebooted. I have no idea why or how the cm10 bugs have carried over to my v20c flash since I wipe everything twice between flashes. Does anyone have any ideas or have experienced similar issues?

In CWM, goto mounts and storage, and there's an option to format /system.
Thanks rani. Damn looks like I'll be setting up this Rom again after I do that. Ugh fail

The v20c installer automatically formats system partition for you. I'm not sure why you'd have those issues.
Drumist are you referring to the cwm flashable version or the official? I know when you install the official using lg's update tool it completely wipes everything, but I've been using the cwm version in order to keep cwm/root

[Q] Universe rom ver3

Hey i've been on the universe rom for quite some time now, but on FI03, i see that "Shadow_god" has released a ver3 with the F127 agat kernal update which i would like to upgrade to.....But do i use the modified caulk format thats recommended because of coming from a previous version or do a fresh flash, (i had heard that the save data opt could be ifffy in certain cases) Thanks a bunch & keep up the great work
I've been running shadow gods rom from 1.0 and I think it's the best out there. I always flashed from version to version using calks modified format and never had a problem. Never really heard anyone having a problem doing it that way other than a bad download. Just make sure you do a nand backup and you'll be fine

Worked like a charm! thanks, but quick question...what happened to the usual accessable reboot into recovery opt.?? can i still power down and access it (mods, add-ons)?
Yeah you a can still do it that way. Also He has a jb_ish redesign w/extended toggle that has it on there.

Google Market Insufficient Storage All Of a Sudden.

Well, I was using the gin2jb ROM quite happily for a long time. All of a sudden downloading apps from the Google Play Market started giving insufficient storage errors.
I've tried wiping everything, reflashing, restoring previously working backups, even flashing FTFs. Everything.
Nothing I do fixes it. I've been flashing ROMs for years so I know the ins-and-outs of problems and how to fix stuff. This, however, nothing.
I have noticed that flashing FTFs doesn't change the internal storage space (which is currently 643MB, which I think isn't the stock size?).
That doesn't explain how it suddenly happened though.

I've also tried the NXT ROM and several kernels.
