How To: Install ICS IMM76D for Nexus S 4G
Warning: This will wipe your data entirely. BriefMobile is not liable for your actions. This has been fully tested and is working.
Download and unzip IMM76Drelease-keys.zip
Install the NS4G drivers
Download and unzip Odin3_v1.87.zip
Open "Odin3_v1.87.exe"
Power off the Nexus S 4G
Put the Nexus S 4G into "Download Mode" by holding both Volume Up+Down then simply press the Power Button
Connect the Nexus S 4G to your computer. Ensure Odin recognizes it. You should see "COM#" fill in the first box.
Click "BOOTLOADER" and select "SPH-D720_IMM76D_KE1_BOOTLOAD_signed.tar"
Click "PDA" and select "SPH-D720_IMM76D_PDA_signed.tar"
Click "PHONE" and select "SPH-D720_IMM76D_LC1_Modem_signed.tar"
(Optional) To keep your bootloader locked, check the box next to "Flash Lock" in Odin
Click "Start"
After it is finished, the NS4G will reboot and it will be running Android 4.0.4 IMM76D. Congratulations!

If you untar the files, there are images inside. Those are flashable from the stock recovery.
Also Mobile ODIN doesn't work on the Nexus S series

As far as I can tell by examining the install script, this is not a permanent install.
Everytime you reboot, it will go back to the original CWM and you will have to run the install again to get this recovery.

You are right. It works perfectly. Does backups and installs but won't stick. How can we make it stick sfhub? By packing it into a stock kernel?

No I haven't tried flashing a modem but I could. Let me try Thanks for helping out.
EDIT. just flashed the el26 modem and it flashed perfectly.

Oh wow feel's like I'm at a airport security check. I'm quite positive that's the gingerbread one since I have used miui. I took uploaded the file from my sd card. The file name might be different from what you see on xda since it was from http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15254-romofficial-miuius-11230-for-the-epic-4g-touch/

That would be great if you would do that. Jumbofiles was really good but they did maintenance to their servers and screwed up stuff.

From within the menu 'about the phone' at the bottom of settings menu. You'll find system update there.
Of course this will only work if JB is officially released in your area/provider.

You don't even need to root, unlock your bootloader, fastboot a factory image and you are done (This will wipe EVERYTHING including your SD card though)
All the info you need is in the guides links in the stickies, there even stickies on how to convert to the "fast update" train of the google updated versions.

Is there an easy way to turn a tar file into a update.zip file? It should flash from the last official build i would assume? Also on the stovk launcher? Essentially creating your own ota file from the tar file?
