Media Streaming - Nokia Lumia 900

Just a heads up guys that Plex is in the market place now for download allowing streaming of all your movies, music and pictures from your home PC. Best part is it will convert recordings from Windows Media Centre on the fly, so for me during my train rides home I can now watch TV.

Help: streaming audio in background

Hi,
I use the bbc iplayer service to stream radio broadcasts via Opera Mobile and the HTC streaming media application. This works great unless I want to turn off the screen or flip to another application whilst listening to the stream - as soon as I do this the stream pauses. I can't seem to find any options to allow the streaming media player to run in the background while I get on with something else.
Is this possible ?
Thanks
David

Stream Spotify from HD2 to PS3. Possible?

Hi people!
Today I stream Spotify from my PC in my home office to my PS3 in the living room with ps3mediaserver. It's great that this is possible, but when I want to listen to a spesific song/playlist, I have to go to my computer and find the song/playlist there.
Is it possble to stream Spotify from my HD2 (with the official spotify app) to PS3 as I do from my PC? It would be great to use my HD2 to scroll through playlists, choose songs etc. and have the audio streamed to my TV speakers.
Cheers!
Hmm, I guess it's not possible..

[Q] App to remotely access my home server (media)

Hi, I have a Home Server setup that feeds all my media (.avi .mkv .mp3 etc) to all my enabled devices around my home. Now I have a shiny new HoX I am looking for an App that will allow me to remotely connect (while I am away from home) to my server and play what ever media I want. Is there an app that will do this, or a combination of apps ? Thanks in advance
For music subsonic is by far the best solution that I have found. I have heard people have had success with plex as well, so you might want to look into that as well because it supports both music AND videos. Subsonic claims to support movies but I as of yet have not been able to figure out how to get a video to play on the Android client.

Plex. It's the greatest app in the world. Not only can you stream via your home network it allows you to stream over a 2-3MB HSPA connection remotely. To get the most out of it you'll probably have to do some file renaming on the server but it's worth it once you see how your media displays with cover art and descriptions. I use it on my phone, tablet, and all my Google TV's. PlayOn also allows you to access your own media but it's not as sleek as Plex.
Thanks, Ill look into it. If i remember right, my old samsung bluray player had plex in it .....

Cast Apple Music on Chromecast

I have successfully linked my MacPro to my home stereo through the Chromecast audio puck I just bought. But now I want to play the Apple Music from my iTunes library. I know Apple Music is not in the support list of Chromecast audio. Why doesn’t Apple accept Chromecast? Since I don't want to give up Apple Music, I got a method from Google. Is it legal to convert the Apple Music for personal use?
Try this way!
Apple Music is protected by DRM which you can't cast on your Chromecast directly. In order to make your Apple Music castable on your Chromecast, you may need to convert your Apple Music so that you can cast Apple Music on Chromecast, here, you can try TuneFab Apple Music Converter, which easy to operate.
How i Stream Apple Music to Chromecast
I bet we all know that we can download Apple Music songs on devices for offline listening. But we can't add the downloaded music to non apple software for playing. Chromecast or Chromecast Audio won't have the chance either. Because Apple Music songs are DRM protected audio file.
If we remove the DRM and convert Apple Music songs to normal audio file, say MP3, then we can easily play them on your Mac or Windows PC and cast them to Chromecast/Chromecast Audio.
Or be smarter, we upload our favoriate Apple Music songs from our Mac and Windows PC to Google Play library[/URL] (in cloud) and then stream them using Google Music app which has support for Chromecast/Chromecast audio on any device we have. Because, yes, we can download Google Play Music app on iOS devices as well!
Just follow the steps below to convert Apple Music to upload and steam them using Google Play Music app.

I have the same problem as yours. It made me depressed while I want to play the Apple music with Chromecast, but limited by the DRM protection. However, I met with this tutorial on the forum remove-drm.com, and found it was really useful.
