After over 3 months of work, 2 hard-bricks (and a few soft-bricks) and a lot of coffee, it's time to release the first alpha version of CM9 for the Samsung Galaxy W (GT-I8150). This is very much still work in progress, but it should be decent enough now that it's usable, if you don't heavily rely on the not working stuff.

Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Use CWM5 or CWM6.
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash CM9. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone!
Wipe data and cache.
Flash update*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.
NB: Going from a ROM using 2.6 kernel to a 3.0 kernel, a full wipe is recommended though.

known issues
fm radio
there's no fm radio support in cm9, period! It's not possible to add this when there's no support for it! So stop asking for it!
camera
camera will never work as good as in stock rom, period! We are using ugly hal wrapper hack to get it to work at all! This is only guaranteed to work partially ok with included camera app. And still not everything will work at all with it, like certain effects or video calls. All other 3rd party camera apps may or may not work. Don't cry if they don't. If you absolutely need a 100% working camera, use stock rom!

By "no USB tethering" you mean that CM9 is a no turning back step unless we already have a different ROM on SD card to go back to since no transfer via USB will be possible until it's fixed? Or is it related only to use the phone as a modem?

Be aware I've noticed a potential serious bug. What happens is that apps might start crashing, and when installing an app the phone will bootloop. This might take a while to occur, and seems to be caused by the mmc cards not coming back alive after suspend. I'm currently trying to trace what patch is to blame, unless my device has developed a hardware error. So if anyone else experience the same, please report back.

i already flash mine, so far no bugs...seems very smooth....i will report here if i encounter any bugs...but i notice we cant see part of the wallpaper when scroll to the left...(although isnt a serious problem ).
& a million thanks to you acro68!! Thank you for spending so much time in developing CM9 for us...cant tell how much i appreciate it!

Only bug that I see (apart from camera) is the network settings. I see no service when I do have a service. Still performs as cm9 and ICS.

Hmmm...this last update to CWM MUST be used for CM9 only?
So if I decided not to use CM9 for now I'll be able to flash the backup I made prior to CM9 install and to install another ROM after the restore I'll have to ODIN-flash the previous CWM (prior to 04/01)?

Noticed that too. I'll look into it. If you set the same image again from Wallpapers app, it looks correct.

Turn off mobile data, and it should work. It just doesn't work when mobile data is on. Known issue.

It just means you shouldn't use another recovery program than CWM to flash CM9 with. Not really an issue I think. You can still use this one as before to restore old rom backups.

Hell yeah, this baby is smooth, fast and has Brazilian Portuguese in it (not fully translated yet it seems, but mostly)!
Thanks Arco! The only missing feature that is closer to make any difference to me is the camera, but really, I've wiped my phone quite a few times lately testing ROMs so I haven't used it.

Found a bug with the native browser. Tried visiting several websites, it shows the progress bar loading but shows nothing but a white screen.
When I click the tabs icon to the right of the address bar the thumbnail shows normally, but when selected to full view, white screen again.
Not a connection problem because gmail, Play store and Dolphin browser work just fine via wifi.

Good job Arco Finally good to see an official release

Wow... very hot in here... can't wait to get my SGW from SSC .

Try a reboot and see if it's better. I've had that happen to me as well. It only happened after the 4.0.4 update for me though, so might be a regression in the browser rendering code.

Sure, i upgraded it from Rc 3.0
Upgraded from 7.1.0 RC3.0. Everything seems to work except the camera orientation. I've noticed a faster connection to the GSM and 3G network. In RC 3.0 it ometimes took ages to get a connection.
Is it non wipe like CM7 nightlies...
I dont want to redo everything again just to test...
I dont have problems with the previous version, but it is my second phone, only use SMS, calls, bluetooth, wifi and market...
gps
1. Gps not working, not even shows the icon in notification bar.
2. After a call, the screen remains blank, the proximity sensor have issues.
Back to RC3
fantastic! fast update
i want to try it, but not now
tried to install from rc 2. having troubles: at the boot appears a "android" logo and then nothing else. returning to rc2

i also had this, try re-running the zip in recovery agn, and reboot it a few times. i did this and it was okay.
Thanks for your reports about the bugs.
By the way, just for info.
I, friend of phiexz want to say this. Maybe phiexz will probably take a little longer time to fix the bugs because of his busy in college. He has so many task to do for his college, so he asked our help to find the bugs on 7.2 and post it here. Once he is not busy anymore, he will fix the bugs for us.
So, we have to be patience.
ok, because not many reacted on the update test, i just installed it over the RC3 without wipe or anything.
First look was ok, but no apps that where installed, so i rebooted again, and all is working, what was already on the phone.
Yes, camera has lost its direction and barcode scanner too .. but heck we know that ... link2sd still ok, wifi and 3G working, root explorer and google / gmail, Go contact, sounds market still working ... so no complaints yet ... other then the known issues oh wait Angry birds seasons still works !!
small correction, Gmail settings did not remember to synch email, but ticked that option again and its working
Correction (and wierd!) Qr scanner works ok (applied the fix on RC3) so cam scks but barcode scanner works
I cant connect to google account.
Fast discharged baterry, if I use only wifi, and 3G and screen light on 25%, 1% baterry per minute, its very bad. If screen is off, and locked, everything with baterry its okay (baterry is after callibration).
I not prefer ADW launcher, because it is slow, i Installed GO Launcher, and it is very faster than ADW on this ROM.
I've not found other bugs.

Thanks for the update.. Tell him to take his time.. Remember, the only rule on cyanogenmod, you don't ask for ETA.. ..
Camera and WiFi-mac fixed by me.
I'll upload new package soon.
Now it's fully functionally - only proximity sensor doesn't works.

TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS
I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds
2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above
3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

[Thanks To UOT Kitchen for saving my and your time...]
Follow THESE instructions to flash 08-12 or later nightlies(WHICH DO NOT CONTAIN boot.img and DEVTREE) without flashing 0712 nightly...
How to Revert
MethodA:Flash a full froyo/eclair sbf
MethodB:WIpe Data and flash ur CM or MIUI (Or any other) ROM [I haven't tried this]
MethidC:Wipe Data and Restore Ur Nandroid, then goto advanced restore and restore boot.img and Devtree
JUST TO CLARIFY
1::Flashing Any of these builds will not affect ur Downgrade ability...
2::No need to flash GingerBread SBF to use ICS
Dont forget the charging problem when phone is off at the has to be fixed list.
Also the integrated SIP (VOIP) internet calling does not work. There is no sound after the other person picks up.
Voice Dialer and other apps that use the microphone don't work.
I'll just copy my thread here then :
So here is my bug, not reported yet (as far as i read) in the CM9 thread.
My wallpaper don't display properly. First, they center strangely, depending on the wallpaper. I mainly tested those from the wallpaper gallery, and a few personnal photos, for most of them, it centers on the upper left corner of the cropped picture.
Second, they don't scroll, at all, when switching desktop.
The animated wallpapers, strangely, center in the middle of the picture and animate as they should. They don't scroll, though.
Not a biggie, but might be adressed.
Thanks to the dev for their awesome work !

[Q] Sorry for this, but I want to know if I can flash the latest build (111208) but is it possible to revert back to stock froyo 2.2.2 (warranty purposes) or CM7.1(for stability)? I asked this since in CM7, if ever you want to claim warranty, you just have to flash a stock ROM. I want to know if it is the same here. I don't know if this has been answered but I just want to clarify this. Thanks in advance! And for the Devs working on this, Keep up the good work!

Yes you can, only make a backup of you current ROM and recover it including boot and devtree to go back to CM7. Flash a 2.3.4 kernel boot.img to run CM9.
[BUGREPORT]
Since i live in Japan, i use Softbank prepaid as a provider, and thus have a dedicated app for mails and messages (Softbank Mail app)This app notifies me of new messages with an icon in notification bar AND a popup onscreen with a "read" button.
In a completely random fashion, either the "read" button or the notification bar link don't work (or both). It clicks, make the popup/notification disappear, but don't launch the app. If i launch the app manually, both notifications disappear as they should.
Again, not really a biggie.
[BUGREPORT]
i don't know what's changed from previous build (7 dec) but some colors are messed up.
[Q/REQ]
Can you add an option for enable/disable lockscreen rotation?
[BUGREPORT] new 11-12-08 build
I noticed that the button backlight turns off if there is no light and on again with light on the sensor. Anyone else see this behaviour??
[BUG REPORT]
After installing the ROM, the "tap in the android...to begin" is FCing, it wont let me config my phone
[Q]
Hi
Waiting for the patch for Enhance GSM Data and working camera, I would ask the our developer to implement in the next build 'switching on' of the screen with the volume button (as it is in CM7). In addition, the percentage battery indicator would be great.
[BUG]
In preferences menu, in INTERFACE only Homescreen option works (Drawer, Dock, Ikons dont). Ther are no options for 'GENERAL'
Thanks a lot, great job!

Frequently Asked Questions
My calendar sync isn't working!
I'll fix this in Essentials Add-on RC2
Can I mount the phone as mass storage via USB?
The default configuration is to transfer files via MTP from within android. The below command can be used to change into USB Mass Storage mode (starting from BUILD6). USB Mass Storage mode is always used in recovery.
Code:
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage,adb
Please reboot after executing the command.
I can't adb into the phone!
The build currently uses Galaxy Nexus driver due to the MTP support. Please download the driver here: http://www.multiupload.com/BUCFT8M42N. In mass storage mode (or recovery), the Nexus S driver should be used.
Can I flash other modems?
You may flash modem packages designed for CM7.
Does 3G work? Do I need to install a script for it?
3G works out of the box without the need for any script hack. If it doesn't connect, please check if you have the correct APN.
How do I take a screenshot?
The screenshot taking function is built into ICS. Hold volume down + power.
Can I use CM7 kernels?
No, the kernel has modifications to make graphics, camera, data counter and data limit work.
Can I disable LED Notification?
Yes. Untick Settings -> Display -> Pulse notification light.
Maps keeps asking me to sign in even though I'm signed in!
Ignore the sign in dialog and pull down the notification menu. Answer the request for permission. Do this a few times and Maps will work.
How do I enter Galaxy S Settings (Device Settings)?
Type "am start com.cyanogenmod.AriesParts/.AriesParts" from adb. Or starting from BUILD 7, it is available as an icon in your launcher.
How do I enter service mode?
Type "*#*#197328640#*#*" into the dialer.
Is there a Captivate/Vibrant version?
A captivate build from the same source (but with captivate config) is available here. We currently lack a developer/maintainer for Vibrant.
Does this work for I9000B?
No, the I9000B requires a different kernel configuration. A build for I9000B may be added later in the process.
What's working? Why is there only a list of issues?
Everything else not listed are supposed to be working (aside from the usual CM7 bugs). If they're not listed, please post so that they can be added to the list of issues. A list of issues is far more useful from a development standpoint.
Why am I getting notified that my data partition is getting full when I have 1+ GB free?
Your /datadata partition, a smaller partition, is getting full.
All credits to Teamhacksung's and Pawitp for providing CM9 Build 10!
Please keep in mind that this is a very early Test release of ICS and still in Alpha phase

Disclamer: If you flash this customized ICS ROM you may not go to Pawitp´s thread to complain or report bugs!
In order to complain or to report bugs in the CM9 thread you need to be on Stock CM9!
To All,
Please keep in mind that this is a very early Test release of ICS and still in Alpha phase.
ICS S.U.R.F.A.C.E. is completely dependent on the releases made by Teamhacksung
It will be basically a stripped down version of Teamhacksung but with all the fixes, patches, mods, hints and tips,... found in Pawitp's thread already integrated. The Essentials pack will be basically the latest Gapps with some stuff removed, some apps added, fixes, optimied & zipaligned,...
ICS S.U.R.F.A.C.E. is just for testing purposes only and to play around with
It's a work in progress and together we can make this ready for everyday use, for YOU and everybody else
Perhaps this could take the load of postings on Pawitp's thread

What about vodoo control? Is fully working also for color tuning?
I'll try it. thanks.

Any major probs anyone? Is it ready for everyday use, good signal and battery life...?
I'm still happy with darky's 10.2, but feels a bit oldschool...

Ok, i get it!
hey sam, thanks for your build!
somehow i have problems with downloading from mediafire (interrupted 5th time atm) ;/
could you upload it to some other hosting, please?
maybe its temporary, but i'm sure as hell problem isn't on my side (other things are downloading properly).
Cheers!
edit: 6th and counting -.-
8th... wtf
Thanks Teamhacksung and Sam! I need my phone in working conditions for the next few days but hopefully I'll flash it soon!
How do you guys like the ram management of ICS? Have you tried playing heavy games on it yet like shadowgun, sleepy jack, modern combat 3?

Voodoo Control is working perfectly fine, except for the color tuning.
I'm sure Pawip or another brave kernel developer will release something soon

It could well be that the integrated APN list is not readed correctly in ICS. I will investigate this.
Please be aware that the task manager is completely renewed in ICS.
Just long-press the home button and swype the apps you want to remove
TB is working fine for me but I'm sure updates to that app for ICS will follow soon also

Flash ahead, you'll be amazed... The rom runs exceptionally well for an alpha build and I've yet to run into a FC myself.

If you flash this ROM your phone will be working alright JJustin Perhaps better stick to S.U.R.F.A.C.E. v8.0 (Samsung version) to be in a more stable environment?
I played, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Can Knockdown II, Samurai II Vengeance, Dungeon Hunter II, Nova II,... without any errors or lag, just as on Samsung ROM's
Multiupload links added @ 1st post
Just flashed the updated base (RC2) and essentials (still RC1?), and I still can't get my calendar to sync. Same problem as before on RC1. I did a factory reset and wiped cache/dalvik cache after I flashed base+essentials.
Is it working for anyone else? Also, just a minor thing, in 'about phone' it still says Surface RC1.
edit: I also cannot get my APN to work.. I filled in all the fields, although I don't understand why this would be necessary. I don't really know what to fill in the 'server' field, right now I have http://live.vodafone.com but I'm not sure if that's correct, because it's always been empty.

I think you should be fine if you do a factory reset/wipe (dalvik) cache and then flash ICS Surface. You can just follow the instructions from the first page..

[ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO (07132013)

I have been building LG Optimus V ROMs from the CM/IHO repo and sharing my builds with the community in the IHO thread since some time. Besides the geek satisfaction, I build for removing some extras and customize for performance. Following the original IHO thread has become too difficult due to its enormous size and simultaneous discussion of many other builds. This thread is for sharing what I build for myself with the community, a place for receiving feedback, posting changes for my builds, and returning at least some of what I received from this community.
Please thank/donate to CM project, and especially the IHO developers, Blarf, Bob, Jerry, LeslieAnn, tdm, thekraven, and many others.
I prefer MiRaGe to be a barebones/basic ROM closely following CyanogenMod. The changes below are only aimed at enhancing the performance, fixing bugs, and slight touches on the interface without diverging from the original.
The followings are added:
Custom MiRaGe kernel compiled with gcc-4.6 linaro toolchain using -O2 optimization
ICS fonts for system and lockscreen clock,
ICS style battery, signal, wifi, sdcard, data icons for statusbar,
ICS icons for the power widgets, menu, and settings,
transparent notification background,
Android boot logo
Cyanbread_light: a tiny theme to replace the orange highlights with cyan/blue that matches with the recent Google Play apps (included in the ROM) (source code is here )
Unique bluetooth MAC addresses. Source code here
Baseband version in About Phone screen. Source code here
Bluetooth volume settings are not limited by voice dialer. Source code here
AGPS patch for better accuracy. Available here
Optional stock Android 2.3.5 Launcher2 available here
Simple IO scheduler in the kernel which has less overhead for the system and more suitable for flash memory
BFS 4.04 CPU scheduler for quicker user interface and better efficiency
TinyRCU Read-copy update (RCU) synchronization mechanism which improves scalability by allowing readers to execute concurrently with writers and reduces the system overhead.
Many bug/security fixes for ext2, ext3, ext4, fat, mmc file systems, sound system, block layer, bluetooth, networking, and ARM architecture backported from 2.6.32.59 kernel.
Computing network protocol sequence numbers and fragment IDs using MD5 instead of inaccurate MD4 in the kernel.
Backport staging android drivers and ashmem from lge msm7x27 kernel
Sluggish accelerometer problem is fixed in the kernel with updated sensor drivers from the 2.6.35.9 lge msm7x27 kernel drivers
Improved Compass accuracy and response time with updated sensor drivers from the 2.6.35.9 lge msm7x27 kernel drivers
Backported the updates and fixes in mach-msm/qdsp5 code from the 2.6.35.9 lge msm7x27 kernel to resolve phone freezing while playing music with Google Play Music app.
Updated the interactive CPU governor with the latest version and removed smartass and interactiveX governors that were derivatives of the old interactive governor in addition to userspace and powersave governors that are more suitable for desktop systems.
Added SLQB as the default memory allocator
use optimized strnlen, strncpy, and crc32 functions in ARM (thanks to faux123)
added KSM support in the kernel and dalvik-vm (reverted in 07302012 build for now)
default to hardware EGL libraries (adreno200) instead of using generic android EGL libraries (thanks to leolawliet)
kernel patched to fix entropy depleting
swtiched to Koush's Superuser
updated to the latest CM bootanimation
CYAN-1602 security fix merged (Android-8219321 security fix to Bluebox security bug)
The followings are removed: extra themes, CMwallpaper, FM radio, large ring tones, CM services, development app, and all languages except English(US) and Spanish.
Changelog for CM and MiRaGe kernel:
Detailed list of CyanogenMod 7 changes are here.
Complete list of my changes on the IHO kernel are here.

For service providers other than VM, you can flash one of the VM670_VZW or LS670 conversion patches (not both) after flashing the VM670 build. If you are just upgrading from the previous MiRaGe by wiping only cache/dalvik-cache, you can flash either patch right after ROM without rebooting. Otherwise, booting once before flashing the patch is necessary after /system wipe.
GAPPS is not included. You can download it at the following link. Choose the package for CM7 (Android 2.3.7) (20110828).

Suggestions & Recommendations:
- Link2SD is recommended. Learn how to use it and you will be rewarded. I have never had any kind of insufficient space problem with Link2SD. However, as soon as we root our phones and flash a custom ROM, we are now on the other side on our own. You will need to figure out how to find your way around and there are many different ways. Please find the good practices and methods that work for you and don't clutter the thread with insufficient space problems.
I use link2sd with 60 apps and it takes at most 5 minutes to update the ROM with the following way.
- copy the new zip to SDcard and boot into recovery
- wipe cache and dalvik-cache
- flash ROM
- reboot
- wait for link2sd warning for missing mount scripts
- run link2sd and recreate mount scripts (if you touch the link2sd notification from the pull down, link2sd will automatically open with mount scripts dialog)
- reboot
- run link2sd
-- relink dalvik-cache files
-- relink library files
- done!
And no application reinstalls necessary. There are many tricks/mods to link /data to the SD card. Whatever method we choose, there will be disadvantages and problems since OV does not have large internal storage as the other high-end phones do. The best practice is to sticking with one of the methods (I use and recommend Link2SD) and learning to deal with it. I don't want to use a method that is making the ROM dependent on the sdcard since not everybody has a large sdcard. Also, sdcards exhibit extremely wide variation of reliability and performance; mostly inferior to internal storage. If I link /data to sdext by default, people will be bringing here many complaints due to sdcard performance and failure. For my sanity, I will avoid that.
Additionally, if you have missing apps with Link2sd after the first boot following a ROM update, please check this post.
- Quickpic is recommended instead of default Gallery3D in the ROM. I will still keep Gallery3D in the ROM but you can just open the ROM zip file (don't unzip to your disk) with your archive manager (e.g. 7zip in Windows or file-roller in Ubuntu). Go to /system/app and delete Gallery3D.apk before flashing ROM. This is what I do. You don't need to reinstall Quickpic after your ROM updates unless you do a clean wipe.
- If you want an ICS theme, I recommend Achep's ICS theme. I must warn that there is some performance and battery life penalty that goes with such heavy themes. If you also want ICS icons in your launcher, I suggest kovdev's ICS launcher theme.
- The battery consumption is ~1.5% per hour on my OV running MiRaGe when I leave it over the night with data, wifi, location updates, email/calendar sync on and 0% TWS (see the screenshot below). Every phone is configured and used differently and the signal is different in different locations. If you have battery problems, it is not because of the ROM. Again, please don't clutter the thread with battery life problems.
- I don't recommend the Google Play Music app on the Market. The default Music app in the ROM works excellent without the heavy load on the system.
- My cpu settings that give me the best battery life is as follows. I recommend and use interactive governor which is a well-tested cpu governor developed by Google for Android. Just use the updated interactive governor in the latest kernel and choose the minimum CPU frequency as 122. This configuration gives better battery life and does not cause any extra lag. The smartass and interactiveX governors are derivatives of the interactive governor and I don't see any advantage of them over the default interactive governor. I will be removing those governors from the kernel for reducing the kernel size and eliminate unnecessary/idle code. Regarding the maximum CPU frequency, you need to find the maximum stable value by testing. 806 MHz is the maximum recommended value since anything higher increases heat and battery consumption considerably.
- Please check the followings before reporting WiFi problems. Nobody is making popcorn in the microwave, your neighbor or your kids are not hogging the WiFi watching Youtube or Netflix, your router is not a cheap junk, the fridge is not running near the router, your network provider is not having problems, the cat is not sleeping on the warmth of the router, the dog has not tipped the router's antennas, you are not trying to connect to your neighbor's WiFi ...
- If headphone is plugged in and unplugged before starting the camera app, camera records video without sound. There are ways to resolve this temporarily. If you do a quick reboot in Links2SD (it takes 15-20 seconds) camera records video with sound after that. If you disable the shutter sound in camera, this problem does not happen. Lastly, if you take a picture before recording video, the video is recorded with sound normally. I am looking into this and will post here when I can find a permanent solution.

This Is awesome updates will be so easy to follow what motivated you?
MiRaGe 06112012
I have updated the builds to include two fixes
- Fix occasional completely mute incoming call in Phone.apk
- Timestamp doesn't contain date info, therefore we need to construct it and adjust it if daylight savings applies in frameworks base
Please see the OP to find the download links. The details of the changes are in the CM code review site linked in the OP.
I'm onboard and flashing latest build now.
Could this be flashed over bobzhome version? Just thought I'd ask, was just going to attempt it.

You can try with just wiping cache/dalvik-cache. If there are problems you can't resolve, (probably Launcher Pro in BobZ will conflict with ADW in MiRaGe), you can do a clean wipe and reflash. Don't forget a nandroid before doing anything.
Thanks mrg666, I hope to give it a try tomorrow nite.

Not InteractiveX?
Sent from my IHO phone
InteractiveX is just a derivative of interactive and I have not seen any advantage of locking the minimum cpu frequency when screen is off. Just the opposite, it creates more trouble.
I use and recommend interactive governor. Actually, I have just updated the interactive governor to the latest version today. You can download the latest kernel from my github repo. Just use the updated interactive governor in the latest kernel and choose the minimum CPU frequency as 122. It gives much better battery life and does not cause any extra lag.
Thanks for all your work, mrg666! I'll hit this up when I get home; my work's proxy doesn't allow access to github... apparently, it's "for hackers." ;-)
Kinda obvious, but I have subscribed to this.
I have never had a phone of any kind that has lasted more than 6 months. This LG670 has lasted over two years! And to boot I've used this 5 times more per day than any other phone! This is a great, not good, device. Ultra reliable. Efficient and effective. Two plus years... still just like new!
And to think I've been running MiRaGe more than any other ROM. I have flashed hundreds! But this has always been my favorite!
Thank you mrg! Glad you're still on board with the LG670 CULT!

Ok I flashed this right over Bobzhome. No problems to report so far. And then just made ADW launcher default(not sure if that was necessary). Point is it works.
As far as performance if any, remains to be seen, question will be is if battery drain will be not as quick.
edit: issues with updating apps, says theres insufficient storage, plenty remains, must have some something to do with how bobzhome uses apps2sd vs method used in your rom(haven't done much investigation yet)??? But no problem running apps that were previously install in rom before the install.
I have uploaded the 06142012 build of the kernel.
- Fixed the sluggish accelerometer problem
- Fixed inaccurate/slow Compass
- Updated the interactive governor
See the OP for the links to download from my github repo.
Maybe I'm missing something, but the OP is still sending me to the 06-11 build. The github repo has this same build as well. :/

Camera (no photosphere - blame google)
GPS
NFC
Bluetooth
BT and Wireless tethering
Not Working
USB tethering (?)
Installation instructions
BACKUP YOUR DATA (using CWM)
Verify that your backup is complete - a backup of your sdcard may also be a good idea (see below)
Verify that you are running hboot 1.26 or newer (hboot 1.39 is recommended)
Download the ZIP and the boot.img (see Downloads)
Copy the .zip to your sdcard and reboot into fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img, then boot into recovery
WIPE your phone (this is not optional)
Install the .zip and reboot
Upgrading
You can always upgrade to a newer version without wiping any data, formatting system or wiping the cache.
But keep in mind that you must always flash boot.img + re-flash gapps after upgrading
Changelog
RC20 (20130825)
Fixed the two Android 'master key' bugs
Kernel patch for CVE-2013-2094
RC19 (20130317)

I can not upgrade my hboot to 1.3x, help!
You can still run RC13:
This was the last release using Linux 2.6 and will therefore work on older hboot versions. RC13 is stable enough for everyday-use.
What kernel should i use?
Use the stock kernel from boot.img - there is nothing wrong with it. Using a different boot.img or/and kernel will just break stuff.

For people wondering:
Although its an AOSP build it does have multi-user support which originally is only available on tablets in AOSP ( users can be added in settings )
Will try it as soon as links posted, thanks for your work! Can't wait for some of the important things like camera to work.
Will have to give this one a shot. Looks very interesting, even though there's some major flaws. Official CM10 has never been stable on the HOX, so looking for alternatives. AOSP might be the solution, in the long run (not currently in that state ).
Good luck with the upcoming work, attempts, hacks, tweaks etc.!
EDIT:
1. You can add NFC to the list of working things. Just tested it with a tag.
2. The performance of the ROM seems very snappy and nice. Just because of it I had to take a few benchmark tests, and yeah, the ROM performs! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Api2mSgk7cfUdENKWWVqNnUyS013dnJpMGxNQXZxeEE (oops, wasn't made public at first)
Generally about Android 4.2 and its new quick settings (QS):
I wonder why Google doesn't allow us to reorder the grid (by long pressing on the items, much like on their launcher; folders). Would be great if one could add or remove buttons too. Personally I'd like to add GPS + NFC and remove 'Airplane mode'. When tapping on the items their respective activities is started. Convenient sometimes, but it makes QS pretty much useless... On/Off toggling would've been the preferred way I think. Much like how the Airplane mode button works... it doesn't even ask the user if the device should be put in airplane mode (which I think is pretty vital).

Keep up the good work Gentleman
Definitely wanna try, but will probably wait until it's a little more stable.
Needed to rename rc0.boot_img to rc0boot.img (really any .img name would work) but otherwise booting fine straight over the top of latest CM10 nightlies. I'm no dev, but love being on the bleeding edge

To everyone:
Please feel free to post bug reports ( if not already mentioned in the first post by pabx ) and in case of a crash a logcat would be great

Where do we find the Email app, for non-Gmail mail? I do see the Exchange apk, but no Email apk. Should we use the one from 4.1, or does 4.2 have a new mail client app? Thanks for the awesome work too by the way; so far this is actually impressively stable for a preview (known issues aside, and more testing to be done)!
Compiled the new Email app from source... I guess you can just push it to /system/app.
I have not been able to test it yet though, so i cant say if its 100% working

thank you!! i will try it once the camera works. :good:
First off, thanks for the rom - always great to try the newest version of android!
I found a bug with google now, it doesn't show me any cards relating to my location, it says that I need to turn on googles location services but they're already on.

This is a known issue (see first post -> location services) and is already fixed in the git version.
We will probably release a new build that includes the fix today or tomorrow.
I have the feeling that the dpi is slightly off. On the lockscreen for example the widget area is bigger than the screen and The numberpad to enter the pin is cramped together. (I have no better way to explain it. Sorry)
Awesome guys keep on going will flash this one as soon as camera is fully functional as I really need it for work !!:good::good::good::good:
