[Tweak]Script for init.d! - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi!
I just read around Android software and Hacking box and created some scripts for init.d. I have no idea about the effect of those tweaks, but installed and running on my phone now. Hope its bring better performance for Xperia S.
Require:
1. ADB.
2. Root.
3. Init.d support active (Thanks DoomLoRD for this). If you are not active init.d yet, this will do it for you.
4. window (script to active init.d runs only on windows).
Install:
Download attach file, extract to c: (you will get runme.bat and files folder).
Connect your phone to computer, wait un till you see your device (type adb devices).
run runme.bat.
reboot.
Done!
After reboot you will see folder dalvid-cache folder under /cache - it means init.d has work!.
Leave your feedback here about performance.

Thanks so much!
After 2, 3 times of rebooting the phone, now my S is flying.
The performance has been improved!

3. does it work for rroted devices but with locked bootloader?
4. does it wipe data after finishing process?
too little information given OP!
thanks

Yes it works on ICS I've installed it yersterday, I think this tweak is just use to upgrade performance of Xperia S but I don't see the difference, the Xperia S is still really smooth .

[ROM] Optimized Kezra V4 Final [Android 2.3.6, Custom .35 Kernel, V6 Supercharger]

First of all let me thank all you member of this newborn community which is the Galaxy W's! Without you guys there would be no point in releasing this anyway.
First off credits:
Arco68 for helping me guiding me in this odyssey that is making Android builds and teaching me how the updater-script thing works and for allowing me to test some stuff which really helped me release this. Also for his custom Ancora kernel
knzo for helping me get started with Android and giving me the first tips that helped me want to learn more and do more. Also for his build.prop tweaks which are pretty handy
qzem for being one of the motivators behind the community and how got us the RZR Recovery as well as getting me Arco's kernel when my computer was being a slut.
dsixda for his awesome kitchen in which I cooked this ROM.
zeppelinrox for his funtastic V6 Supercharger script
Now what does this ROM have?
It is based on the Samsung Stock 2.3.6 ROM (latest EU ROM) but has been modded for better performance.
- Deodexed
- Zipaligned
- Rooted
- Busybox'd
- Has task killer tweaks
- /data/app functionality
- Custom Kernel by Arco68
- Roboto Font from Android 4.0 (ICS)
**NOT SO SMALL (xD) AND (POSSIBLY) MOST STABLE RELEASE YET**
The only things left from the TouchWiz UI are the Launcher and the Social Hub (because I really like it. The Hub that is. Launcher sucks balls.) apart from things tied to the framework like Phone, Contacts and Messaging.
In the instruction at this time (time of V3 release) I'll leave also instructions to integrate V6 Supercharger by zeppelinrox which should make the phone much more fun to use
A OC Version of the ROM is coming in the next few days aswell, as soon as I make sure it is stable.
Without further ado here's the link:

Instructions for Flashing:
(1) Reboot your phone into recovery;
(2) Make a backup of your current ROM;
(3) Wipe data/cache
(4) Format /system/
(5) Flash the ZIP
(6) Enjoy.
Instructions for V6 Supercharger
(1) Download this file and put in somewhere in your memory card
(2) Go to the Market and download "Script Manager"
(3) Open Script Manager and go to Config and choose "Browse as Root"
(4) Browse to where the script is and choose it
(5) Select only the ROOT symbol and then RUN
(6) First choose option 2 and when asked again choose option 6 (if you feel like taking a chance, choose option MEGA RAM 2) and V6 will install.
(7) After you are done with installing browse to /data/ in the memory of the phone, a file called 99SuperCharger.sh will be there
(8) Choose it, select run at boot
(9) Reboot and you should be done, enjoy.
For SuperCharger updates check HERE

AnTuTu Score w/ OC and Supercharger (option 6): 40xx
(If you're updating from V1 or V2, I advise you to backup your apps and do a full wipe)
NOTE: IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH VIDEO, JUST INSTALL A VIDEO PLAYER AND IT WILL WORK FINE. I RECOMMEND MX VIDEO PLAYER.
F.A.Q.
(1) Will this ROM work on the Exhibit 2 4G?
A: No idea. Ask the devs for the Exhibit 2. The hardware is quite similar but some things do differ.
(2) Is this CM7?
A: No, it is not. I'll get on that when I can.
(3) What are the advantages of this ROM over stock?
A: It is rooted and much faster. Try it out yourself.
(4) What are the surprises you were talking about?
A: Unfortunately they couldn't be released at the same time as this ROM, so you'll just have to wait.
(5) Will you update this further?
A: As of V3, I dunno. I pretty much done everything I had to do to make it work as powerfully as possible.
(6) Is this overclockable?
A: It is as of V3, download the OC Rom.

KP, a small question.
Now that the phone reads the external sd as the internal memory, I can finally see some use for the 16gb micro sd I was given for Xmas.
But I do want to keep all the data I already have on the one I was using up to now, so if I transfer the whole card on my PC and then on the other (bigger) card and finally put it in the phone, will I have all my data or will I be missing something because they are hidden Android system files?
I wanna sleep now it is 4am 'ere but because of this.....Thanks to All for BullDozing......

[Q] Why can’t benefit from scorpion optimized kernel?

I’m using archo’s super dooper optimized kernel (took it from cow rom V7 via CWM) on my stock EU rom.
I also copy all \system\lib\*.so files from cow rom V7 to my stock Rom using QtADB, (a Graph. UI for ADB Shell as I’m not familiar with adb shell commands …)
Here are my AnTuTu Benchmarks for CPU ONLY TEST:
Stock EU rom/stock kernel @1024Mhz (ondemand) = 1300
Cow rom V7/cow kernel @1024Mhz (ondemandx) = 1500
Stock EU rom/cow kernel + /system/lib/ *.so files from [email protected] (ondemandx) = 1300 …
Am I missing something…?
Update1..: i'm sorry, my stupid .. i wasn't really copying anything because USB debug was OFF.. Set it to ON and retry..
Update2..: I manage to copy all *.so required files to /system/lib.
After reboot the phone freezes on Galaxy Wonder logo...
Restoring via CWM succesfully and back to the start.
There are build props missing...that is why it is not fully optimised.
You may try V6 Option 7 n Nitro Lag plus BulletProof....It is as close as Scorpion Bionic Optimization...the difference is the apps scrolling flies in CM9....
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
Thanks for your reply!
I think that CWG said that in order to take advantage of scorpion opt. Kernel you must copy all system/lib/ *.so files from his Rom.
The problem is that when trying to copy specific lib/ .so files to phone (using QtADB application) , application on PC hangs (maybe loses connection with phone?). It seems that some .so files are live ‘untouchable’..
You touch them, phone freezes.. (so maybe the same will happen using adb commands..?). Cant find a solution yet.
I’ve never heard of 'V6 Option 7 n Nitro Lag plus BulletProof'..
Is this a kernel for our phone? (sorry for noob questions but i'm quite newbie..)..

Ooookey… (a lot of stuff).
I did some reading, though it’s not VERY complicated, I think all this memory management stuff can now be found (in some way) integrated on most recent custom roms (kezra’s, CowRom..).
For now I’m quite happy using kezra’s Val. Pack 1.1 (thanks kezra!), so I guess i wont touch turbo twincam supercharger and stay dumb for now..
P.S. I was looking for a guide for adb shell. Though I found a lot of info in our forum, I couldn’t find some basic info, for instance in what mode the phone must be to use adb shell.
Recovery mode in CWM and then mount the system?
Normal boot up and stand by?
Doesn’t matter?
Thank you all for your replies.

From my experience most of these tweaks are not needed if you are using Arcos CM9 or CM10, as the ROM is already opitmized.
When I was using Samsungs GB ROM some of these tweaks indeed improved the ROM, but while trying them in CM9 there was almost no difference because as I already said Arcos ROMs are already highly optimized.
Furthermore I find it very risky tu use them all together. Especially speaking about the Dalvik VM Tweaks. They can make the ROM unstable and cause misbehavior. It´s also known many build.prop tweaks that work well in GB and are improving the ROMs bahavior are causing the opposite in CM9 and CM10.
What I´m missing here is a full list of the tweaks that are added into this build.prop and what changes where made to the Dalvik VM.
A flashable Zip which is also making a backup of the present build.prop would be also preferable.

yes I know that and I also recognize cm10 pretty good performance compared to GB or CM9.
but I have a problem when I play HD games, I get LAG. I tried to tweak the build.prop and the results are quite satisfactory and I can play hd games smoothly without install script.
I agree with honeyx - instead of re-using and re-merging tweaks, that initially came up years ago, we should focus on evaluating and mythbusting all those things.
The problem especially with such compilations is, that they contain dozens of configuration changes, initially thought for other android versions or devices. In many cases they simply have no effect or they make no sense.
Besides this, some changes can also be set via the UI:
E.g.
Code:
persist.sys.purgeable_assets=1
[...]
persist.sys.use_dithering=0
is also available via the Performance menu in CM (and i would not recommend to activate the first one).
I appreciate the effort made by bacrot78, but i do not think its the way to go when tweaking Android.

I understand your point, but again. In the first place i doubt all the tweaks there are necessary to improve the performance in games. Most of them can be applied via the UI without the need to add them into the build.prob. Others are already implemented into the kernel, so also no need to add them into the build.prob.
The ones that probably imprived your gaming experience are the Dalvik VM tweaks. But changing them can improve the performance a bit but cause instabilities. So you are turning your stable ROM into a unstable pre Alpha state just to play your games a bit more fluent.
If I were you, I wouldn´t play with the Dalvik settings but leave them as they are and wait till Arco releases Kernel 3.x with full butter support. He is often also updating the GPU libs, which can also boost up your games.
This is not just a good advice because I´m talking from my own experience where I also tried to optimize the Dalvik settings by just enabling and disabling some features to make the phone act faster. The result was an unstable SGW which kept to be unstable even after restoring my backup I made before adjusting the settings. So I had to make a total reset to get it working like before.
Furthermore adding such tweaks into the build.prob is like playing lottery. You can find one setting alone will improve some things. Another setting alone will do the same with other things but both together will cause the ROM to become usntable.
So it´s like XR-7 already said. This thread should be better changed into a discussion with the focus on evaluating and mythbusting all those build.prob tweaks. By trying them separately. One after the other and together.
Owh good review. I respect you, this thread turned into a discussion thread was not a problem maybe we can review together with the requisite mod BP installed ROM without a script. Since I also need input from all of you.
thank you

This final rom is one which I am runing daily, I have removed some boatwares but not all, removed only some which iritating me. So if you need some apks which is missing, just download from here -> https://github.com/munjeni/D5503_14.4.A.0.108/tree/master/system and add to the zip byself! This rom have some optimisations and fixes, dual recovery, cwm munjeni and twrp, to enter cwm hold volume down when blue light start blinking, or hold volume up for twrp when blu start blinking. I recomend linheart+row and my favorite theme aka black theme munjeni which is included only in final rom aka this one. This rom contain kernel from 157 with kernel modules and firmwares from 157... etc, in short my favorite rom dumped directly from my phone using romgen tool, so its tested and definitely stable, just install it right and carefully and enjoy!
* If you have root problems or problems remounting system rw, install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61696951&postcount=531
* If your choice was "debloat rom" trought aroma installer, I have marked google contact & calendar sync in removal list as bloatware, but if you realy want to debloat your rom but kiping google contact & calendar sync you must install folowing zip package -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61894795&postcount=573
How to install:
- first of all you must have your phone updated oficialy to the bootloader, baseband... etc and it must be from 108 rom (your choice how you can do it, but thats needed!) before you gona install our rom! You no need to be rooted since rom is for booth locked and unlocked bootloader!
- wipe data factory reset
- format system partition
- install rom
- install update.1 -> (this fix portrait retouch and give you China Photo editor) NOT REQUIRED ANYMORE !
- install update.2 -> https://mega.co.nz/#!NI4UkAgD!XPGU4WhDsfRXquzaL1wmQDaees-PrtF8SBpIOZgdn_Y (this revert dialog and toast style to stock one ;; fix for timeshift video) NOT REQUIRED ANYMORE !
- install update.3 -> https://mega.co.nz/#!lAZSUISa!09ca_GvuDHh8r9-5M3aAhc3TiDOePj26n79aa7VkTds (unhiden daydream option in settings menu) NOT REQUIRED ANYMORE
- install update.4 -> https://mega.co.nz/#!4JJFTYjZ!IjQsoCdJhSFBZFs_hyQrEHudBkaCZZfiyhG4-wHm7sc (usb serial support and ftdi sio ; new task killer) NOT REQUIRED ANYMORE
- install update.5 -> https://mega.co.nz/#!1FoUkLZB!SEpBPmiV7GC6D0CeXdej-neqwOsfMelrFTxY5teKFp8 (ntfs support) INSTALL ONLY IF YOU HAVE old stable rom, do not use with final rom!!!
- do not replace default busybox which comming with this rom since you will broke root!
For best experience I have compiled Lionheart cpu governor, you can use them in combination with row iosched to get very smooth ui and very good baterery life for daily usage! I have runing rom 13 hours + 1 hour with phone usage and have almost 88 percent batery power remain
4k is not working and allso I not going to get them working!(I have removed 4k from camera widget). I sugest you to not use any external camera mod since our one is totaly stock based and I have not replaced anything related to stock camera, every camera part is carefully patched, so if you want any camera mod than do not go here to report something which probably will not work after your replace or you get battery drain fast after replace! Allso if you have installed something which not comming from our rom than allso please do not report anything! Everything is tested and everything working very good!
If somebody have problems installing rom (error 7 during installation):
- Remove first 2 lines (ASERT) from updater-script than try again
Hoorraaayy, you are back.
Thanks for the update man, will download and try ASAP,
Also I was looking for an update for multiboot, that would be amazing.
Thanks for your great work, and looking forward to seeing more of you
Probably not since my microphone is broken and probably I must get new model soon (z3 mini)...soon. In any way I am sharing the best rom to all

Sexy kernel question
Hello . Is it possible to create a version of the set selinux permissive . Alternatively, if there is any init.d script that is changing. Greetings

Hello,
I did it and i can share if you want but you better use init.d to do this:
Create a file named 07setpermissive in /etc/init.d folder with inside this simple code, and give 755 permission to this file (with a root explorer).
Code:
#!/system/sh
setenforce 0
Reboot, and it's done (SELinux is set to "permissive"). If you want to disable it, you can tape in a terminal emulator;
Code:
su
setenforce 1
If you really need, i can share the same thing done in ramdisk.
I would be grateful for it
For many people this will be useful . I would appreciate it if he had se linux kernel permessive

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the scripts in the init.d do not work, so it just me . I created a script to test init.di was not a log file . When installed with supermarket universal program init.d script then she began to move. I installed both kernels and nothing

Did you give the right permissions to your script?
What does this script (code)?
permission is ok
Script :
#!/system/bin/sh
echo init.d is working >> / storange /emulated/0/initdsupport.txt
Using the program -> script starts , uninstall the program and stops working script
Sorry for bad english

Try to write in /data, it should work
echo "init.d is working" >> /data/initdsupport.txt
None of this after the change does not work still , but with the application from google play test log appears and init.d works. I give up. If I ask for a hint
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androguide.universal.init.d&hl=pl
with this application works

It didn't work because the path of sdcard is not good in your script.
If you want to write log in sdcard (internal storage) the code must be
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "init.d is working" >> /mnt/sdcard/initdsupport.txt
instead of your
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "init.d is working" >> /storage/emulated/0/initdsupport.txt
I just tested it, and it works well with my moded 20p ramdisk, without need of another system mod.
You just have to use /mnt/sdcard instead of /storage/emulated/0
App you are talking about is an emulation of init.d (not real init.d, as ramdisk supports), it uses install-recovery.sh.

Can I install any of these kernels over one of your previous 5.x ROMs ( such as Androidnow HD). Or do I need to install the entire new ROM ?
If I can install just the kernel then do I need to root it ?
Many thx

Hi,
I don't know if i understand well your questions.
I didn't test all possibles combos (all possibles shared stock or based stock) roms with these kernels (ramdisks) moded, i think you can understand that
You can easily test it and report the result if you want, I (we) 'll be interested to read this.
For that, you need to know how to flash a kernel (custom recovery is the best solution), how to backup the one you used before, how to boot on custom recovery with hard key for eventually restoring this one you backuped before, how to quit a secure boot error screen (removing battery) that you can meet with a bad kernel, and, of course, that root is really needed for doing all of that.

Hi 6ril1 and thank you for your response.
I probably wasn't very clear. What I wanted to know is whether I can install just the 20p kernel on phone which has a rom with an earlier kernel (like 20i or similar). Would the 20p kernel have any issues with a ROM designed for an earlier kernel. Up to know I used Seven's Androidnow HD ROM but unfortunately he has pull out support for newer ROMs due to some asshat distributing his ROMs without consent. The last ROM he had was 14 but it wasn't fully optimised. I am using his earlier 10.3 Androidnow HD ROM. So I was wondering if your 20p kernel will work ok with having to install a whole new ROM.
Cheers

Hi,
Just try it, after the usual precautions (Make kernel backup before in custom recovery. It means backup boot partition)
Flash kernel, and if it doesn't work on your rom, restore the last one you backuped, that's all
I tried it with an older lp stock with succes (these moded boot worked with older stock firmware).
As i answered you before, if you have a security error screen (following by a black screen without any possible acces) on boot with the new kernel, remove battery, reboot in custom recovery with hard key combo (=> buttons power + volume down, release when logo appears, and again power + vol down, until custom recovery acces appears), and restore your previous kernel that worked. As simple like that
Of course, prerequisite is that you have twrp installed.
